My first experience with Alex, the owner of MJD Barbershop.Coming here from a local high-end shop previously, I was anxious, not knowing what to expect.Showed him a quick picture of a previous cut and style and he was off and running!I was not disappointed! Everything in the shop was clean, appointment was prompt, cut and style was spot-on and quick and, price was less than half of what I usually paid other places. A real straight razor trim around the neck and sideburns, nice after-cut product for the hair and a finish with a great neck/shoulder massage .Thanks Alex... definitely will be back to see you soon!

Brought my 1 year old and they cut his hair really fast and it came out great..my son was getting restless and didnt want to sit still but the guy was able to work with him. End result came out really nice,professionallydone. Only thing is we have to call ahead of time and make a appointment in order to be seen,no walk-ins

Stopped in for my first haircut in almost nine months. First time at MJD, as they had just opened in March of this year. Really happy to have found this place.First, feel like I got a great haircut. Stylist was very detailed and asked questions to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. Really happy with how it turned out.Rate was good for a mens cut. Plus with the attention they give clients, you certainly dont feel like they are just churning out customers with quick haircuts. You feel attended to, which is great.Lastly, always good to support local businesses, especially right now (review written during Covid-19). Im a local Fountain Hills resident, so Im happy to support a new local place who seems to be doing business the right way and does great work.No more Sport Clips for me. Will be a regular at MJD going forward.

There was nothing worth my money on this side of town till my wife found the place. Me and my son love this place. Me and my son look forward to getting hairs here . I was in the market for a new barber because my old barber went to prison. I found MJD on Google and they have great reviews so I tried them out. My first impressions were that MJD was an awesome environment and very clean. The staff were very professional and helped me out as soon as I walked in. Mark was excellent and helped me decide on a style that would fit my hair type. He gave me a great haircut and shave, so I’ll be going to MJD to see Mark from now on.

Very professional and clean. Went in yesterday for an appointment with Mark. Best hot towel shave Ive ever had. Steady hand, usually I always get irritation under my chin but no irritation to speak of. My face is baby smooth. Would highly recommend and will definitely return for another one.

I didn’t have time for a haircut before coming into Fountain Hills from out of town. MJD was close by and looked to be what I was looking for. They did not disappoint. I scheduled my visit with Alex and he did great. Cut just like my barber at home and cut my hair quicker! Overall great experience. If you’re looking for someone to give you a great beard trim with a straight razor line up this is the place to go! Now I don’t have to rush to get in the barber shop at home before visiting again!

I brought my boys in on a whim. Didnt have an appointment. But Alex took us right in even though it meant staying open late. I am so happy with how he cut my boys hair, the best haircut they have had in a very long time. He even had lollipops and drinks for them as well and was very patient with us all and made sure I was happy with their haircut and that everything was perfect. Such a friendly environment not only for adults but kids as well, he had a couple of toys available for the kids that they enjoyed playing with. We will be definitely going back for their next haircut!!

Stopped in without an appointment and was able to get in immediately. This was my first time here and I am very impressed with the work. The cut was quick and very well done. He got it exactly the way I wanted it and the attention to detail was spot on. Clean, sharp lines, perfect curve around the ears, and excellent handling of the straight razor for the fit and finish. MJD will definitely be my go-to barber in Fountain Hills.

If all you want is a clipper cut, they can probably do that. But I went in with a pretty good head of hockey hair, said I liked the length and just wanted it shaped up. The first thing the barber did was run a clipper up the back of my head that took everything up to the hairline. He took waaaaay more hair off than I asked. To their credit, the barber apologized several times and the owner refused any payment, but the mane is gone, Ill have to get this bad haircut fixed somewhere else and wait for mother nature to do her thing.

This is a great barbershop! I always walk in and never wait more than 10 minutes to be seated in a chair. They offer all the classic services you’d expect from a barbershop. I generally get a fade and their clipper work is on point! Steamed towels are the best as is their straight razor work around the neckline, haven’t nicked me yet! Most barbershops are strictly traditional however this shop has a the most up to date styles for men. The prices are very reasonable.

Alex is the only person I trust with my sons hair. He always does an amazing job and my son enjoys the experience of being in his barber shop. My boyfriend also gets his hair cut and beard trimmed by Alex. Weve never had any complaints and will continue to come here. Incredibly professional.

First of all...Super easy to book an appointment online. My 3 year old received a juniors haircut, for anyone with a toddler they know they are not the best at getting hair cuts!! Both of the barbers were very patient with him. Best haircut he has ever had and they even gave him juice box afterward. My family will be going to them going forward!! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!!!

Never going back again! Abrams barbershop is much better I suggest you go to Abrams.

Alex is an old school master of his craft as a barber, a rapidly disappearing art in a world of churned out cookie cutter school stylists. He performed like it was a choreographed operation and he is my barber from now on in the barber wasteland that is Fountain Hills. I am going for the hot towel and a shave next time in, never had one before.
