Car wouldn’t start after running fine to get to Fountain Hills area. These guys got it in the same day, diagnosed and fixed it for us and had us on our way. Great work and great communication! Thanks!
They offered us an honest and fair quote that was cheaper than other mechanics quotes. Fixed our issue perfectly with no fluff!
Friendly staff and honest. Doesnt recommend repairs that arent necessary. It was my first time there and I will go back if my car needs anything
Past experience visits, they have done all owner manual maintenance at the prescribed intervals, cleaned injector fuel system, changed plugs and minor tuneup, removed and replaced new water pump Jan of 2020. Gina the manager, is the main reason I patronize here. She knows her business, and is an honest believable person, if she tells you that certain things are needed, you can trust that it is valid. ASE mechanics are good to know that they will perform honestly. That is hard to find, these days!
I brought my vehicle in for a 60K mile factory recommended maintenance. Scheduling my appointment was easy, I was called and given the cost breakdown, the work was done quickly, and the final cost was well below my expectation. Gina, the manager, was friendly and professional.
Had ac lines redone here but the quality wasnt that great. The alluminum tube that comes up to the dryer is kinked at 90 degree angle thus pinchin fhe line. Changing that dryer next ac service will break that tubing. They should have put a90 deg elbow orslight bend on that. For a 600 dollar job this should have been done better.
Went in for an routine oil change and to diagnose an ABS light. Turns out there was rat damage which they were able to fix/replace quickly. I also had a follow-up question the day after and they were very helpful.
We Just Got Our Vehicle Serviced Here Yesterday And The Mechanics Had It Out Literally In Minutes. Ted Pulled It Up To The Door And That Helped My Father Immensely(Who Is A Veteran and Disabled). The Vehicle Runs Peppy And Full Of Vibrance. Thanks Very Much To Them.
We are in the process of moving out of state and will be driving the cars about 1500 miles. In anticipation of the trip and the need to be sure they are properly winterized, I took both cars for check ups about two weeks apart. Within two hours of the check up of the first car they Tire Pressure light came on. I called them the next day and told them that I was very concerned about the professionalism applied to EVERYTHING if they couldnt even get the tires properly checked out. They apologized and filled them up. Two weeks later I took the second car and specifically reminded them of the poor prior job. Two days after getting the car back, the tire pressure light went on. Took to Discount Tire and they said all four were pretty low. Have had them work on my cars for 6 years and never had a problem until now. Cannot recommend them any longer and am very concerned about what they did or didnt do to my cars. Two cars with the same problem within two days--what are the odds??? So astronomical you have to wonder if it wasnt deliberate. Well see what happens on the trip!
Good price, excellent staff, on time with appointments.
Great service and price, very convenient
Awesome place, awesome people, awesome quality. Never disappointed with their work 👍
Helpful staff - great value and friendly people working there. Will definitely refer friends and family to this service.
They are very polite and reasonably priced. They also have drop-off and pick-up service if you need to get home while your car is being serviced.
Sundevel auto has always been good to me. I have no complaints. Talk to Gina, she will take care of you.
Courteous and prompt. Explained clearly what needed to be done.
I have taken my Lexus SC 430 to Sun Devil auto for minor repairs generally with good results. In March I took it for and oil change and a tech and a manager told me all four of my struts were leaking and needed to be replaced. Their estimated price was $2400. I was not experiencing any bouncing or suspension issues so I did not replace the struts at that time. When I returned to Arizona this fall I took the car back to Sun Devil auto for another oil change. They again told me my struts were leaking and needed to be replaced. I had received a recall notice from Lexus to replace a passenger side airbag. So I took the Lexus to the dealership and had the airbag replaced and asked them to check the struts at the same time. They told me there were no problems with the struts. I returned to Sun Devil auto with that information and asked for an admittance of error and that the tech and the manager be talked to or somehow disciplined for their miscommunication to me. Instead they defended their position and I failed to get either an apology or an admittance of error. My conclusion is they tried to rip me off for $2400 and I will never trust any input I get from them about needed repairs again.Their response was disingenuous...I raised this issue to help them restore trust in their business. Their communication to me wasn’t a “recommendation”, it was a statement that my struts, all four, had leaks and needed to be replaced. The tech and manager lied to me...and they won’t admit it. I was not indignant, I was calling them on a clear attempt to rip me off by two of their employees. Now they are trying to cover it up. All I am asking for is an apology, an admittance of error and some discipline for the two employees that committed the error.
Friendly staff & professional service 💯
If you care about your time, money as well as car. Go somewhere else. I would expect better service from a place charging an outrageous amount but It just turns out to be a rip off.
Im an insurance agent and sent a client here for a glass repair. Ronnie was rude, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional to my client. When I called to inquire about the poor service he lied to me and told be her glass had been fixed. Not true since he sent her home and refused to repair it. Ronnie then tried to blame the insurance provider and eventually hung up on me too. Avoid this place for any auto work in the future.
They will scam you. Took my car to a different mechanic after going there and they said I didn’t need to fix the things sun devil auto said I had to. DIRTY SCUMS
Unprofessional. Initially I thought this place would be my go to mechanic for the years to come after moving here recently. That is until a recent oil change and tire rotation. As with most places it’s expected that the mechanic will check the condition of the tires, but since this sun devil “is not a tire place” they just decided to completely overlook the fact that my tires were apparently in very bad condition. Apparently the only thing they do is “fill them up with air” according to an employee, I believe his name is Marty. Soon after this rotation, I was experiencing the car pull to the left in a manner that was very concerning. So I brought the car back in to get my rack/pinion and a hose fixed (not a cheap repair) and asked them to take a look at the tires and alignment. Apparently they failed to do so, or at least well and not even a week after this $1800 repair one of my tires blew out on 101 causing thousands of dollars of damage to a car I had just bought, likely totaling it. When confronting Sun Devil about the issue they accused me, the customer, of not telling them anything was wrong while I did tell them before I brought in the car for the rack and pinion repair. They also insulted the company that actually fixed my tires stating “they’re a bunch of clowns”. Well at least those clowns could spot something wrong with the tire in seconds and hooked me up with a great deal on new tires (Big O tires). After spending over $2500 in repairs there on multiple cars over the past few months I would think that there would be a little better customer service. I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere as I will be in the future.
This place was great. My oil change was only $20 and the technicians were super helpful. I specifically spoke to Jamie who told me all about how to maintain my air filter.
UPDATE (Nov. 2019): the Better Business Bureau ruled in our favor, and recommended to Sun Devil that they refund our money. The BBB has a volunteer review board for automotive cases made up of auto shop owners. They reviewed the details (which I’ve included below) and agreed that Sun Devil misdiagnosed the oil leak. I’m glad Sun Devil responded, and processed the refund.Initial review (April 2019).It comes down to trust and customer service: Like others who have posted reviews, we also had a very frustrating (and expensive) experience with Sun Devil Auto in Fountain Hills - to the point of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After spending almost $4K with them, they inaccurately diagnosed the problem, which then required me to spend another $1500 to get the initial problem fixed, after I returned home to a different state. Furthermore, they did not handle the situation by “doing the right thing”, meaning to honor the stated “Warranty”. While I hesitate to include too much detail, if I do not, their response will question my credibility. I brought my vehicle there for an oil leak, they diagnosed the problem incorrectly, only replaced the oil pan/gasket for the leak, while also replacing the saturated timing belt and crank shaft. What demonstrates their incorrect diagnosis is gravity: the timing belt and crank shaft are above the oil pan - the oil pump is above. If those parts required replacement due to “oil saturation, then they should have figured out the oil was coming from up above, from the oil pump. After returning home, EIGHT WEEKS LATER (not several months as Sun Devil inaccurately states, do they really mean to insinuate that suddenly a new oil leak started sporadically? thats just not logical) and realizing the car was still leaking oil (oil leaks are like that, gradual drips vs. gushing liquid), Gina at Sun Devil assured me the repairs would be covered under a 12 month warranty. However, since they had not accurately discovered the actual leak in the oil pump, they did not honor the warranty. After requesting Sun Devil to “meet us halfway” on the service bill, (since the labor expense would have been less than half when they had all of the components removed), the Area Manager for Sun Devil, Montgomery Miller was abrasive, rude, and would not even consider the request. If “customer service is their #1 priority” (as stated in one of their review responses), the right thing would have been to admit they diagnosed it incorrectly, and help minimize the additional expense required.
Theyre great over there. I take my cars there because they are open with me and really try to fix the problem. Just worked with Ronnie (adviser) and he was straight and to the point about I should do next with my car. Thanks for the honesty, Ronnie!
Great mechanics and great service. Highly recommended
I thought I needed new brake pads so I stopped at Sun Devil Auto. They informed me my brake pads were still in good shape but needed my rotors turned. Gina was pleasant and Mark was knowledgeable and honest. Price was right and the service performed was completed in no time flat! Definitely coming back! Thank you.
Great service and good porices. Driver wait i ask for.
Did an efficient windscreen repair for me. Others were quoting 3 weeks they turned it around in days. Thanks for the great service!
I had a complete AC repair. Before the year was over the AC stopped working and I took it to them as it was still under warranty and they said it was in an accident and wouldn’t fix it. I was not in an accident. I took it to another mechanic who said they put a condenser in that was too large and it ended up making a hole on the radiator so both were leaking now. I had to pay to have both fixed. He also said the only things that were replaced was the condenser and compressor and I was charged for a complete AC replacement. The worst part is they screwed me and we’re smiling at me as they said, “they were sorry there was nothing they could do.” Absolutely, they could have fixed what was promised and done the job correctly. I am in the process of taking them to court. I will never go here again and I tell everyone I know about their gross negligence and shistyness. My trusted mechanic also said they charged me double the price they should have.
Broke down on the way out of town, called them and they had us in there as soon as we pulled up. Great service, very friendly. Thank you!
Thanks SunDevil for doing a great job on my truck, they have really helped me with several issues on my old vehicle. Very professional and courteous.
I was told by my auto dealer i needed to replace my brakes. So I asked Sun Devil to give me their opinion. They did a full brake check (for free) and said that the brakes had at least one full year of pads remaining! Really appreciate their honesty! They will get the brake job when necessary.
Good fast work, but my AC is humming louder than before after being serviced...
Honest, reliable, and efficient. Good communication about repairs and value of work done. I take all of my vehicles there!
DO NOT GO HERE. My experience was consistent with the other 1-star reviews. Spoke with this shop and they said for the 59.99 diagnosis fee they would determine why the check engine light is on in my vehicle and provide an estimate to repair it. After they had the car for the day I returned to an over $1,000 estimate. I thought this was crazy. I left (luckily) and had the item they said was broken installed for $250 total by a friend. The Check engine light was then still on! Same codes. I gave Sun devil the opportunity to locate the issue again and they proved worthless in finding the REAL issue. I then took the vehicle elsewhere (Autohaus-Shea and 90th) and they found all the issues and fixed them for $235 total! Sun devil shop is a ripoff and bordering on a scam the way they provide huge estimates and Im sure if they repaired it they would then have another estimate to fleece another thousand or so for the other issues they never found. Bottom line, I likely would have paid $2,000 if I worked with this shop, compared to $235 at a shop that knows how to diagnose and repair vehicles and is HONEST. Dont get ripped off, DO NOT GO HERE!Update per the reply: The issue still is, this shop never was able to diagnose the vehicle correctly. Aftermarket parts were not the problem, and the other shop fixed it by competently performing a diagnostic and repairing the issues which were not what Sun Devil Auto determined. If you want your car repair correctly and fairly, AVOID THIS SHOP, my review provides a great alternate with 4+ star reviews.
Excellent Service! I went in after my engine started to misfire. They imgot my truck in and starting diagnosing the situation. They ended up replacing all my Spark Plugs and cleaning the system out. I got it back the same dayI started feeling it again the following day so i went back in. The technician that worked on it noticed me and immediately came out before i could even get into the building. Ended up just being some loose particles underneath that had not quit worked its way out.I am very pleased with the positive and professional atmosphere. They know what they are doing and i know if i go back theyll look at it in a timely manner and be honest with what does or doesnt need to be done
Oil change & tire rotation & some diagnostic work. Great job will use again!
PLEASE READ - They replaced my catalytic converter with one that causes my check-engine light to come on. Now I have to get it replaced again in order to pass emissions. When I took my car back to notify them of the issue, they said I would need to pay an additional $2000 on top of the $1000 already spent to have a factory catalytic converter installed.Response to business owner - My catalytic converter was replaced one time. The next visit you erased the computer codes and said the catalytic converter was working properly. The following visit is when you said i would need a factory catalytic converter and it would cost $3000 but you would discount it by the $1000 i already spent....These are facts.Im taking my car to another place in town and will provide an update after. So i took my car to the Auto Whisperer here in Fountain Hills for a second opinion. Turns out, the rear oxygen sensor was malfunctioning. They replaced it for $250. Check-engine light turned off and i passed the emissions test. The fact that Sun Devil Auto couldnt make this determination after three visits is concerning. In addition, the Auto Whisperer suggested replacing the sensor and, if it didnt work, they could simply return the sensor for no cost. Obviously a much better approach than recommending a factory catalytic converter for $2000. I have all of the paperwork as evidence to show this review is factual. Go with your other option and, after this experience, i recommend the Auto Whisperer.
If there was a NEGATIVE 5-star option, that is what I would give this place. In short, no matter what they say, they do not back up their work when they make a mistake. We spent thousands of dollars to have a problem fixed. Unfortunately, after driving home from Fountain Hills to Colorado (we are snowbirds) we discovered they did not fix the problem. When we initially contacted Sun Devil Auto about the problem, they told us that there was a 12 month guarantee on their work and they would cover it. But they ended up not paying for any of it. Why? Good question. When we took it to our shop in Colorado they determined that Sun Devil did not diagnose the problem correctly, i.e. the problem related to a different part that needed replacing. Sun Devil refused to admit they did not diagnose the problem correctly, even though it is obvious. We even talked to Sun Devils Regional Manager, Montgomery Miller, and he only made the problem worse. He kept interrupting us as we tried to explain that they had misdiagnosed the problem. We even offered to split the bill with them as a last ditch effort, but Mr. Miller refused.I rarely write a review, but this situation is beyond belief. Take your auto to another shop, one holds themself accountable. A 12-month guarantee is worth nothing if the merchant does not back it up.
Trust worthy.
As a former General Manager of 3 new car franchises and use to managing service departments, I have had both my autos serviced here and each time the staff has been professional, the work completed properly and at a fair price. I highly recommend them for any of your vehicle service needs.
I made an appointment to get a rock chip in my windshield fixed. I arrived at Sun Devil and they said about an hour. I came back and paid and then went to my vehicle and the ding was still there. I went back to complain and the lady said, Oh, we filled it but the rock chip will always be there.I wish they would have told me that BEFORE I spent the money to get it fixed. I will never have them touch my car again. Very dissatisfied customer. Take your windshield repair to a reputable place, not here.
Too bad you can’t leave a negative review, We found the Fountain Hills location to be a big rip off business. When you take your car in for service and they tell you it’s ready to be picked up, you assume it fixed right? Wrong how about taking it back 4 times for the same problem and have them give you lots of excuses. Finally got fed up with there shading dealings and turned it over to the BBB. They wrote a letter full of BS. When confronted by the BBB for a second time they wrote another letter that contradicted their first letter. If you have had dealings with this business I urge you to tell your story, we need to put a stop to this type of business in our community.
I arrived on time and they immediately began working on my car. The job was completely done in less than an hour and I could be on my way. Thank you Sun Devil Auto.
The staff is friendly and very helpful. Service was great and done quickly. I will definitely be bringing my car to Sun Devil Auto from now on.
Worst experience at a car shop. Normally I would never write a bad review but they treat customers TERRIBLY! So rude... save yourself and go somewhere else.
I’ve been a Sun Devil Auto Fountain Hills customer for around 4 years. I have a 2011 Chevy HHR & they have provided all scheduled maintenance along with several repairs needed. Each encounter was completed with satisfaction & more than meeting expectations.
Had my power steering replaced in July. They advised me they did warranty their work. They however did not tell me any other usefull information on how they provided their warranty. They only warranty there work and parts if you are in their service area. Was very pleased, now when its time to make things right they drop the ball. Hopefully this will reach enough people to effect there policy.
I had a dead battery and went there because they were close. I WILL go back. They were friendly, professional, and cost competitive. They were very busy, but still got me in and out of there in record time. I have finally found a place to take my car that I can rely on.
I wish I lived in Arizona for many reasons but thus shop is another reason. We have family in Scottsdale and I needed my car serviced so I went here. Friend staff, quick service and honest.
Great guys who work here. Mark and Mike are good people. Theyve done some great things for our family!! They can do most whatever you ask for!
We always went to Lincoln dealer. This is closer, lower priced and professional.
Always friendly and never have to wait long for service to be completed...from oil changes, brakes and battery replacement, prices are competitive and you can pretty much always get an appointment same or next day. Nice to have a local garage with people you can trust
I work I work for Arizona auto lift. Very professional and keep their equipment up-to-date and clean
Excellent service and no appointment needed. Decent prices. Got excellent treatment by Mark.
Sun Devil Auto in Fountain Hills completed two repairs for me recently on two of my vehicles. Both jobs were completed quickly, reasonable priced and professional!
If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. Horrible customer service. It took months for them to resolve an issue with my car, only to cause more issues in other areas of the vehicle. I had to dispute charges only for their general manager to write a completely false document back to the credit card with legit lies. When I called them out with proof, there was no response. Save yourself the hassle and take your care elsewhere.
My bike on a little problem with the chains..they fixed it quickly. I highly recommend.
Front desk employees are experienced in quality customer service. Mechanics are thorough and respectful.
Its all about customer service and they have none very rude. Wont ever go back.
Excellent service from an excellent group of employees and service specialists.
The staff at Sun Devil Auto in Fountain Hills always do their best to take great care of our vehicles.

Prompt and efficient service. We plan on returning.
Great service, manager Bob Ford is very knowledgable and fair.
My son used to work there & they are fast, friendly and easy to understand. Other than that I cant say yea or nay about their repair abilities.
Always trying to upsell. Said I needed work done got 2nd opinion and that wasnt the case!
I often get oil changes here!I drop my car off and it is always done before end of day without even calling ahead
The young lady at the counter handled my battery problem quickly, with very little inconvenience to me.
One of those bait & switch cos. I would tell everyone never go there.
Good for oil changes. Kind of pricey for repairs.
I dont trust them I bring my car in there and they come out with lights on always
The cowling on my car was hanging down so I took my car to Sun Devil and since I have been a customer, they fixed it and didnt charge me anything!
Sun Devil Auto is the only place we take our vehicles for oil changes. Theyre honest and they usually do more than what they say they do but theres no charge to you on the extras
1st visit for oil change on my Corvette. I will return!
They changed my oil. No big deal
Not quite confident in quality of work.
Negative All bad experience at this place they are a rip off
No good comment as service attitude was non-existent.
Great location and great employees.
Trustworthy and friendly!
