This is a great Y! It’s clean, has new machines, a game room, and more. I’m very pleased and do not understand the bad reviews I’ve read. I honestly avoided this location because some people claimed it was dirty, and although it’s not brand new it is in great shape. Friendly staff, good machines, great amenities.

The Parkview YMCA is AWESOME! The facility is always clean and well kept. We visit in the early morning @ 5 AM. The staff and volunteers are like family. We have met some really nice people as well. Kudos!

A great place to go! There are always staff to answer questions and offer assistance if needed. I’m 76, and I see people there of all ages and physical condition. We are all there to better ourselves, and I have never felt intimidated. In fact, everyone offers encouragement to “hang in there”.

SIGNED MY GRANDBABY UP FOR SWIM LESSONS, GOT TO THE POOL AND AFTER THE START TIME WAS ADVISED THAT THE CLASS WAS CANCELED. MOM HAD ARRANGED HER WORK SCHEDULE TO BE ABLE TO DO THE 7 SCHEDULED LESSONS.... after going there on Monday, problem was resolved in a very nice manner. So appreciate the help that Susan (Suzanne?) gave me!!

We love the sprayground, the pool with a water slide, the hot tub, child watch, the walking track and work out facilities, the classes and all the other things they have to offer. Too many to list them all. I especially love their enclosed, outdoor playground and beautiful walking trails, free to everyone!!!

Lovely place to work out, especially when my rugby coaches arent making me lift 200+ pounds. They offer a variety of classes such as spin, yoga and water aerobics. They have a rockwall, childrens recreational area as well as child watch and a track.

Very unfriendly. Everyone so uptight. They make you feel like your a party crasher....who invited you? Sauna is not relaxing filled with loud talking people who have no regard for a quiet place to enjoy. I always feel like I am at a loud singles bar. If you want an enjoyable place to relax after working out this is not the place.

Day 1 I check in and this lady tells me my card is inactive which my dad told me he had that solved with their office, but this lady wouldn’t understand so she calls over man 1 and says tells him my card is inactive. Which then I explained to him but she then abruptly says my dad doesn’t have a card there and asks me who has been paying and I point at the screen (which shows up when u check in) and I said my brother and sister-in-law but they had canceled their card that’s why I was switching payers. Then man 1 said it was ok and let me through that day. Day 2 I call my dad and ask him if he was going to come which he said he couldn’t because he’s still working so I ask him to call in so there wouldn’t be the same misunderstanding. I walk in the same lady from day 1 is talking to some other people but then turn stares at me with rude eyes like I did something wrong. When I check in she says I can’t go in and this time I tell her my dad had called about 30 minutes ago to let the YMCA staff know he couldn’t make it. Apparently she didn’t hear me because she asked me when my dad had called. She tells me to ask man 2 over at a counter 5 ft away from her which she could have done without shouting. I go over to man 2 but before I could say anything she asks him whose the name man 2 wrote down from the person that called, he showed me the name on it, which it was mine. Then man 2 tells the lady that my dad will come tomorrow. I go to the gate but she tells me I need a guest pass now, so I stand and wait. The lady stands up from her post and comes over to me. She then says let’s try to call my dad because he needs to come here right now. I’m at lost for words because there is absolutely no way I’m going to make my dad leave in the middle of his work and come for something that shouldn’t be a problem. After, she starts questioning me on when my dad will come, how he “ better” come tomorrow, and what time he will come. I’m thinking, man 2 already told her he’s coming in tomorrow and, how would I know what time my dad will come because he will come when he can. She had wasted minutes on my workout and I felt angry trying to exercise. I am dissatisfied with her. I’ve been going to this YMCA for a couple of years and I’ve been going almost everyday for the past year, this lady knows me and I haven’t had a problem till now. I know that the rest of the staff is really nice and welcoming. I am just disappointed with her, because now one thing ruined my whole experience and the way I feel about going to this YMCA.

Not going back until they do some deep cleaning upstairs! One inch of dirty grime and dust on the pipes and rafters. Looks and smells like black mold on the hood vents!

Ive been a member on and off here over the years. As with anyplace, theres good and bad. Sadly, with this YMCA branch, the bad has stood out to me too much, and much of it is in these comments.1. Customer Service is really close to the worst I have ever experienced at any gym. I honestly dont want to throw the whole staff under the bus, the people in the workout area seem pleasant, but the front desk staff is really lacking in customer service skills. Usually they just make you wait without even looking at you. There may be upwards of three people back there, none of them helping anyone. All doing things on the computer. I get it, but at least acknowledge Im there and say youll be with me in a second. Many times people will walk behind the counter, do something, and then walk away, even though they see you are just standing there. Again, at least look at me and say someone will be with me soon.2. If you go in the morning through 11 a.m., or anytime between 4-7 p.m., expect it to be bursting at the seems.3. I know people love kids, Its just many dont like them walking the wrong way on the track, running around people, bumping into them, or coming to complete stops in front of people while they are walking or running. I teach my kids to be respectful to the rules, clearly not everyone does. Its your job, YMCA, to do something about this.OK, those are my biggest rants. The equipment is usually pretty top notch, the pool is nice, life guards seem on point and the gym and racquetball courts are nice if you can get court time.

I never recommended this YMCA to any one, sauna dirty, have distinct human smells, cleaning only once 3 months, personnel has obnoxious attitude towards members, give hard time abut temperature control in sauna. I rather to go to different location. Very unpleasant experience, trying to avoid by any means.

Fun playground and decent staff. Like the basketball courts and the walking paths surrounding the main building. Definitely a decent place to go if you have a big family. But, on the side note. Lifegaurds are, you know, just a little annoying? I mean, you cant blame them, many people going to Y pools now, but sometimes if youve had a rough day its annoying. But, lifegaurds here are much better than other Ys, still. Ive seen much worse.

Way to busy for the ridiculous price you have to pay to be a member. This might be a good place for a family or if you are retired and have literally all day to spend here but for a middle aged single male/female with a job and a life forget it.. Pool is always packed, courts are always packed and the machines are full of people taking 15 to get a set in. Want to go to a ymca outside of Fort Wayne? That will be an additional cost to the 42 a month already. In a time where price for a membership is huge you would think a lower price would do the trick especially given the volume of members this y has But nope, They raised their prices.. I am the last one of my friends to leave this gym and I feel my time is coming very soon. To many kids running wild and parents that apparently cant read the multiple signs in the ADULT LOCKER ROOM that anyone under 18 is not allowed

I read the less than favorable reviews about this YMCA but I really wanted to give them a chance to prove them wrong so I stopped by after work last Thursday (12/17/15) at about 8 pm. It was 2 hours before closing but I hoped I could get a tour of the place and ask a couple membership related questions. I noticed there was someone working the customer service desk. Since she was speaking with someone, I waited in line. When the employee noticed me she interrupted her conversation, gave me a rather disgusted look, wagged her finger and head at me and said, After her Im done! You can just . . ., at which point she looked at the guy checking ID of those going in. His eyes got real big and said, apologetically, Im sorry. Ive only worked here 4 days. At least he was polite about brushing me off. I suspect hell be cured of that if the attitude of the other employee is indicative of their culture there. I considered giving them a 2nd chance by stopping in again during the day but then remembered the other reviews. I decided they had already had and blown their 2nd chance. I joined Planet Fitness just down the road, which is far cheaper, less crowded and, when I first walked through the door, the first employee who saw me said to me with a friendly smile, Good afternoon! Welcome to Planet Fitness! Nuff said.

They have two basketball courts which are constantly filled with different events, most members come to specificly play basketball on the weekends, but cant because they have pickleball or some childrens activty going in both courts which in my opinion is rediculous, also the rules are never enforced there is a locker room for men, there is still naked old men walking around the childrens locker room

Worst YMCA in the country, Charges you to start a membership then wont allow you to cancel. Much busier and overcrowded than locations in major cities Please do not join, you are better of driving to the location in Warsaw if you want to use equipment or allow your child to get attention in a class.
