My husband passed away February 24 of COVID. Every staff member was very sincere and helpful throughout the planning of my husband’s funeral and even after. They would call and ask if there was anything they could do to help me throughout my grieving. I appreciated their care of my husband and the kindness they showed me and my family throughout this time.

Gunderson Funeral Home staff are truly wonderful people. They are caring and compassionate. They listen to you and offer the best support. During the Covid pandemic they are so understanding. They checked on me to make sure I was doing alright weeks later. They are truly wonderful.

They made the grieving process a little easier. Dallas and his entire team were more than helpful and explained everything to us. Helped me and my family decide what would be best without pressuring us to do things we didn’t want. They allowed us to do my mothers hair and make up ourselves which was so thoughtful of them to let us be apart of that moment. A few weeks after my mother’s service the staff here at Gunderson reached out to me to see how me and the family were doing during such a hard time for us, that is something I did not expect and I truly appreciated it from the bottom of my heart. I just want to say thank you to Dallas and everyone at Gunderson especially the people that helped us set up I truly appreciate you guys more than words can express.

All of the staff are professional and caring at Gunderson Funeral Home which helped us through a very difficult time. Our Mom passed at the very beginning of the Covid Pandemic, so it was all different and unknown for every one. They helped guide us through it all with care and concern so we were able to honor our Mom with a private service and burial, and also kept everyone safe for a public visitation. Exceptional service for every detail during one of the hardest times of my life.

Everyone at Gunderson made such a tragic situation as stress-free and simple as possible. The amount of empathy, kindness and patience we received by Dallas Wall just made the experience one we can never show the amount of gratitude for that he deserves. Dallas was very thorough, never rushing us through and accommodating to all of our needs. The staff at Gunderson Funeral Home is not only very professional but, most of all, they are our friends who show compassion and caring like none other. Kevin Rogers, Phil Gunderson and others walked with us through the planning and decisions needing to be made after the passing of my mother-in-law in January 2020. Gunderson Funeral Home staff in Fort Dodge, Iowa did an outstanding job in April 2020 overseeing my mothers funeral preparation and graveside burial service. They were there for my brother and me in helping relieve the stress we were under since both of us could not safely travel back to Iowa due to the pandemic. They will assist in our family graveside vigil this Summer.

What a beautiful service this afternoon at A Time for Angels. I have been going to this service every year since 2011 with my Mom after my Dad passed in July of 2011. A time to reflect on wonderful memories of your love ones. The angels that they give to each family is something that I proudly display in my home all year long. The death of my husband, was difficult not only for myself, but our children and grandchildren as well. Covid-19 and the restrictions of social distancing made it seem ALMOST impossible for us to honor him as we felt he deserved. The staff at Gunderson’s dispelled this concern, went above and beyond our expectations and we could not have felt more comforted in the services and outpouring of compassion they provided. They had answers to our questions, before we even thought to ask them. They coordinated with other agencies to fulfill our requests and did so with the utmost professionalism. They were very nice, helpful and made us feel comfortable. My only complaint, although a big one I feel, they do not have handicap accessible bathrooms. We had 2 family members in wheelchairs and my elderly mother had no way of getting her chair into womens stall at all. After I took her into the mens room, she was able to get in the stall but there still was no hand rails or bars in either bathroom for assistance. This made it very difficult for her and us. Dont see why there needs to be a stall inside a single bathroom that doesnt fit a wheelchair in womens restroom, and there should be bars. Im sure there are plenty of elderly people coming through there for the need.

Family owned business that brings compassion and empathy in dealing with death. They have exceeded expectations in their service to honor a life now past. Our family has always been well served by the Gundersons.

My family and I have relied on the Gunderson family and their wonderful staff in our time of grief and need. I find them to be compassionate and caring. Apart from funeral services they also provide a number of rewarding community services. Thank you for all you do!

Its direct cremation price was over twice the national average. Its memorial package contained an excess amount of print materials, e.g. thank-you notes, particularly since there was no viewing or formal burial. When notified of an error on the Certificate of Death, they assigned blame elsewhere and made no offer or attempt to facilitate a correction, even though the process apparently did involve them. And again no effort or offer was made to provide replacements, with or without any additional fee.

Phil and his staff do an awesome job of making you feel or helping you feel comfortable in your time of lost.
