DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP WITH THIS GYM!!! I went in and spoke with the manager to cancel my membership because I moved and she said it was handled. She was extremely rude and didn’t even cancel it. I was receiving 10 calls a day for my “past due payments” I’m a nurse and constantly working. Finally was able to call and turns out the manger lied about her canceling it. No record of it. Then I had to jump through so many different hoops to get it canceled. Very shady management. Not worth it. Beware.....
This not a bad club for the amenities that it has. However they are ruthless for letting you quit. You can only quit if you visit with the manager. Are we in grade school? I guess they love their 2.9 star rating.
We have cancelled this membership numerous times, they keep saying it’s cancelled and then we receive another bill the next month. Folks, this is exhausting. We have done our part, do yours. Buyer beware for those considering joining.Hi Molly! It’s me again! I’ve called and I’ve come by. Your gym took another payment from the kid today. She went in 2 months ago and cancelled, you all never processed it. And you’ve still taken payments. So today you took another payment when she went in to cancel again. My kid is a HS kid, a member of this local community and you all scammed her. No one returns our calls. Then your payment company calls her twice in a row this afternoon and they are demanding payment. You all need to clean up your business snd stop taking advantage of local kids.Shameful. Pitiful.I felt bad for the staff at the desk today, they don’t have a MOD and “can’t help”.Give them a raise! A bonus for getting more money from a kid.
Love This Gym. Plenty Of Good Equipment To Work Out With! Its Diverse and Friendly. Good Place For People Who Want To Get Started. They Have Trainers On Stand By! For Experts They Have Everything You Need To Go Beast Mode💪🏾
Doing the math on the annual membership you are looking at $33.50 per month (advertised $20/month). Seems a little ridiculous that the fees increase the price by about %60. The annual commitment also charges you for 13 months even though you are getting 12. The initial fee includes a first and last month $20 fee PLUS they charge you for 11 months over the year. The ones running it are either bad at math or just dont care about ripping you off. Youre also not getting any initial fitness test or any onboarding process. They tried over a month after I started going to the gym and cancelled on me twice. So long as your expectations are very low and youre just looking for a gym that you can 100% navigate yourself, its not a bad place. Dont expect much of anything in the way of staff/professionalism as they pretty much just keep the lights on.
Im only here for 2 months. I asked if I could be a member of only 2 months without an entrance fee. They told me ok and sign me up to gym membership i Im going back to my country on friday, i have only 35 days during my membership time and they charged me 3 months and plus 49.99 annual fee!!! Cant believe it.I really cant believe it. I showed the ticket that I will return to my country as proof and they said that they would not charge me any extra fees. they are officially deceiving people, they have no work ethic. Even if they are the only salon in the world, I will not go here again.I will tell everyone from all platforms and social media what they did to me.
Sauna is the cleanest in town. Better than Gold’s. Clean facilities too.
The place is great, the staff is great. The billing process and corporate owners are not reputable.
I have been going here for about 3 years. It is extremely affordable and my rate has never changed. The front desk staff are always welcoming and helpful! I go in the morning and it is never overly crowded. They have a decent amount of equipment and I Iditarod dont have to wait for a machine. My only complaint is sometimes the cleaner or paper towels run out and it seems like they dont check on it frequently.
This is one of the best gyms in fort Collins. The hours are great. The childcare is amazing. Ive been going here since they built trufit and opened. I have had very few complaints. Mainly when it was trufit not zone. I will continue to workout here because of how friendly the staff is and well they have just the right amount of equipment. They have more equipment then most bigger gyms at quadruple the price.
Amazing staff and gym. I couldnt be happier with joining.
This place changes their management quite often, and it is recently changed to be called Zone Fitness Club. So far, this management is my favorite. I have been going there for about 2 years, the greatest thing so far is their facilities, that all things are new, and they have almost everything you will need. They also have the busiest group fitness schedules in town, which is a plus, you could always find something that will work for your busy schedule. The reason why it has such a low review on google is due to their bad membership approach, they over sell their memberships, and dont communicate well about their hidden fees, also its impossible to get any kind of refund and takes forever to cancel your membership. That said, if you are not trying to do any of those, you are golden.
Clean and easy to set up membership. Also a child care place makes this extra nice
I love this gym! I have had memberships to just about every gym in Northern Colorado and this one is my favorite. The equipment is great, it is always clean and I absolutely love the staff. The energy and vibe is outstanding and that is incredibly important to me. I have had zero issues with billing and it is the most affordable place in town...especially considering all you get with this beautiful club. Also, it has awesome views and natural light.
Tried out a few gyms in the area before finally choosing Zone. I wish there were a bit more availability of machines and cables, but there are plenty of deadlift platforms, squat racks, and bench press benches compared to most gyms. The best value gym Ive seen in the area!
I had a membership to this gym back when it first opened as True Fit. I ended up getting a free membership since I worked in the mall area and my paid membership was deactivated. I stopped going to the gym since I moved away, but received a call a year and half later (now Zone Athletic) claiming that I never ended my membership/contract and that I owe a few hundred dollars to the gym. I just received a letter from a debt collector today, so Im excited to see yall in court!
Its a gym and there are no frills about it as a gym should be. Theres a new manager and Ive noticed some great changes since shes arrived like a new layout on the weight floor. Kacey is the best spin instructor in town and now shes got a new class that sounds like a good work-out. Shes such a good motivator and really makes me push my limits in a great way. David is a fantastic trainer, super knowledgeable and just a fun guy. Molly, the manager of the kids club is always so helpful and when I used to take my kids there I knew they were in great hands. The whole payment situation that occurred during Covid is a mess so Im sorry about those people whos overdue fees went to collections. I stopped by there when I received the email about freezing payments and the front-desk helped me without a problem so I think it was best if people didnt let the payment thing slide. I like that I can go there, have space to work out, not feel crowded or have a bunch of trainers trying to sell me extra memberships. Get in, get your work-out done and go home. All good!
This gym is by far the best in town. Best employees and best bang for your buck! Highly recommend coming to check out this gym and all the great amenities offered.
The staff is awesome. Super friendly every time. Extra clean facility. Most affordable gym in the area.
Love this gym! Always so friendly, helpful & clean! The staff on kids club is wonderful and my kids can’t wait to come!
Ive been a member here since they opened in Fort Collins. For the last 4 months, Ive had the opportunity to do weekly personal training sessions with Joel. It wasnt until I started these trainings that Ive really appreciated the community and changes theyve been able to make for their members.I highly recommend Joel if you are looking for a personal trainer, or are looking to crush your goals in the New Year.
Initially I enjoyed going to this gym the staff were friendly and helpful but recently they have been charging me for training sessions I never asked for and they said I signed a 6 month contract for 4 training session a month once I actually looked at the contract It wasn’t my signature but they had signed it themselves and said it was me who signed it. I’ve been asking for a month to get my money refunded and all I’ve been getting is empty promises and no money back. I’ve heard many similar stories about this gym and will not be going back here and I suggest to never trust this place with your money.
Good fee for what it offers. You just need to find slow times to avoid the free weight “douche” crowd. The early morning has a bit of a problem with that. Other than that it’s a good gym.
I received complimentary training session for signing up for the gym. I was able to train with a trainer named Tim! He was fantastic and really helped me put my goals into perspective aswell as assisting me in finding a path to achieve them. There was not a question I had that he did not have an answer for and was great about explaining things in a respectful and easy to understand manner!! If you are looking for a trainer definitely ask about Tim!
Do not join this gym. There customer service is terrible and they wont let you cancel. Do not waste your time going to this gym. They are cheap for a reason.
I love this gym because it has a variety of cardio machines, the staff are friendly and I have friends and former teachers that go here. One of the things that I love is all the freedom I get.
I have nothing negative to say about the gym equipment or the facility itself, but these people don’t care about COVID at all. The fitness instructors rarely wear their masks appropriately and over 85% of the gym members have their mask completely off. As a person who cares about reducing the amount of covid cases in our country, I’m very upset about this. Also, the amount of creepy guys is overwhelming. I just want to feel comfortable when I’m working out, but that doesn’t happen at this gym. Please work on making sure all your members wear that masks appropriately. I seriously want to keep coming here but I’m always hesitant.
I’ve always had a fantastic relationship with zone athletics. The front desk workers always welcome me, there polite and will answer any questions I have, they do everything they can to make sure my visit is perfect. My monthly fee has always stayed the same, no surprises of any kind. I’ve been a member for 2 years and don’t plan on going anywhere else anytime soon. Would strongly recommend zone athletics to anyone looking for a gym!!
At the start of COVID I was billed even though the gym was shut down for MONTHS. During this time period I never received a call or anything so I assumed my account was cancelled. They then randomly 6 months later sent my account to collections despite never reaching out. I now have a mark on my credit score for no reason... TERRIBLE COMPANY.
Joel B. is not only an amazing trainer but also fantastic with his customer service skills. I highly recommend this gym because of his expertise and professionalism. Give this guy a raise! Thanks for everything!
Zone Athletic Clubs has transitioned into the Fort Collins market place in 2020 as gracefully as any business could have. They keep their facility clean and their members in masks.
Terrible customer service. I was told my membership was canceled but continued to keep charging us for months. They do not care about the safety of employees or clients during the pandemic
Manager was very helpful and understanding in resolving payment issues from a canceled credit card. Also very clean and nice inside!
Told us it was a month-to-month membership when we signed up. Went to cancel because of Covid and they said we signed a 1 yr contract!!! Never stopped charging our credit card during Covid when they were closed!!! Submitted paperwork for a 2 month reimbursement but have not seen a dime! Never received a single email or communication about membership status or payment policies when the gym was closed. Havent been there since March 2020 and they have been charging us for 2 memberships this whole time. I understand that gyms are in a tough spot financially, but so are we. I will not be going back even after this pandemic ends. I will be recommending to everyone I know to stay away from this gym.
Do not join this gym. They make it incredibly difficult end your membership (you have to submit a letter via certified mail and then follow up so that they actually do it). They also have shady policies that allow them to legally charge you for things like hidden fees and classes you had to miss due to an emergency. All the good classes require extra charges & are not included in regular membership. No pool or hot tub here either & are anti-children (very rude) unless you’re willing to pay extra to send you kiddos to the childcare room.
Great club although a little crowded at peak hours. When TruFit was acquired by Zone earlier this year it seems like there were some mixups with billing that were handled poorly. However, huge kudos to local management (especially Stacy) for handling my issue in a very professional manner. I’ve moved to Denver but would go back if I were in Fort Collins!
The management here is about as sleezy as they come. Ive tried for months to get reimbursed for unused personal training sessions - due to the fact that I was diagnosed with cancer, blood clots in my lungs and COVID. They say that I have to contact TruFit in Texas. TruFit in Texas is a totally different LLC than the one that owned the Fort Collins gym. They know this - it is a just a ploy to mis-direct people. They told their managers during the peak of COVID not to answer calls or emails - the only way you could cancel a membership. They claim that they didnt take on any liability of TruFit when they bought them - acquisitions dont work like that. They purchased the contracts and the liabilities. They are deceitful and dishonest - be careful about signing anything. Who knows what else they lie about.
Really do not recommend this gym! Terrible customer service, they said our membership was canceled but continued to keep charging us for months after, during the pandemic when they were closed and when they did re open they did not care about the safety of employees or clients during COVID.
Staff always friendly, facilities are clean, and in my opinion, these guys have done a great job with COVID protocol, at least when Im at the gym.
We love going to this gym. Our trainer is great, the machines are good, with a wide variety of different choices. The classes are fun. Locker room is clean, sauna works well. Tru Fit is well priced and the owner is extremely nice. This club is about 20 minutes from where we live, we pass several fitness clubs on the way to this one and its worth the drive.
Do not join this gym! I stopped seeing automatic payments deducted from my account in March and figured they were not charging due to the Covid-19 closure. In April I got the mass email that all members received about future credits, freezing accounts, and canceling memberships. I chose to freeze my account and followed the vague instructions in the email. I never received a reply and figured the company was inundated with emails and took care of it as I still was not seeing a charge to my account. In June I had to cancel the card that was on file and contacted the gym about 2 weeks after to inform them of the change. It was at this time that I found out I was in collections for past due payments dating back to March. I had not received any notifications by phone, email, or mail (all of which were current and up to date on my account profile) stating I had over due fees. I immediately mentioned that I froze my account in April and have the email to prove it and was told that it was only frozen for the 2 month closure period from April to May and that they would graciously waive those months fees. The email did not mention a timeline. After many back and fourth phone calls to Molly who never seemed to be in the club when I called she finally got “permission” to waive June’s payment, but I would have to pay the annual member fee and July’s fees as well. I then asked to cancel my membership and was told that I could not do that as I had signed a year membership and it had yet to be fulfilled. I had signed up for the month to month plan and when asked to see the signed contract she could not produce one and had no record of any agreement on file. Since no agreement was made Molly insisted that she would remove me from collections, cancel my membership, and waive all past due fees. I had her write an email for documentation purposes stating everything we discussed. Well... today I received notice from collections for an amount twice as much as the original past balance was. I repeat, DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!!
I do NOT recommend joining this gym. They make it almost impossible to cancel your membership and have continued to charge my card the membership fee after telling me that my membership had already been canceled multiple times. They force you to physically go into the gym to cancel and refuse to do anything over the phone or online. When I finally had a chance to go into the gym, the ONE person who has the authority to cancel memberships wasnt available. I was told that he would call me back the next day and I never got a call. After finally thinking it was officially canceled last month, they charged my card AGAIN today! I understand that gyms are in a tough spot right now, but so is everyone else and they are clearly taking advantage of their members.
Front desk staff are the rudest customer service people I have ever encountered. Just read through some of the other review, and make sure to read the replies as well. Thats just a taste of the lack of professionalism at this place. It would be a great gym if it werent for the incompetent leadership and shady business practices.Im much happier paying a little more for 24hr, and in the end its probably about the same cost after all the fees this place charges on top of the membership cost. Both are full of bros, both make a hard sell when you try to quit, this place charges you fees on fees after you join, fees when you quit (if you can even get them to let you), and the staff are the worst.Oh, and the last time I was in there was a guy coughing all over the place without a mask, staff walked by and couldnt have cared less. I dont mean a cough from being winded, he was using one of the machines and was coughing so much he could barely do the exercises.
Great place, always clean, never too packed. Helpful staff. So its not just their Denver locations that are awesome.
The hours is why i didnt even look twice! 2100 really what are you thinking?
I quit the club I was supposed to be refunded my money that was deducted during COVID-19 they have not done anything. After repeated attempts stopping in (3) and asking to see a manager and the manager not being “in” I decided the place was just really good at stealing money, and irrespective of what the person at the front counter told me I was never going to see a dime of my money or receive a call from a manager. I’m out $250 ish. Manager please feel free to contact me and resolve this issue.
I would leave zero stars if possible. I was charged through the mandatory closure of the pandemic, thats fine because I intended to get the credit for the months I was charged (which yes, I know they sent 4 emails as the owner likes to state in all his responses to other poor reviews). I came in in early June and filled out a form for the credit. I was then charged on June 22nd, so I called and they said theyd be processing credits very soon. I was then charged again on July 22nd. I called and they again said credits would be processed. The manager Josh was a real gem to speak to. He stated that if they issued everyone credit at the same time theyd no longer have a business. And thats my problem?! I would have cancelled my membership at the beginning of June had I known they had no intention of giving me a credit any time soon. He stated it would be within the calendar year. I dont use the gym during the summer, and the only reason I didnt cancel was because I was under the impression that I would have a credit for the entire summer until I resume going to the gym in the fall. He refused to give me any sort of refund and stated that it was impossible to stop billing during the closure. Somehow, other gyms have managed to stop billing. 🤷 I would not recommend this gym to anyone, their management is horrific.T for taking advantage of innocent people during a pandemic!!!!
This gym will keep charging you once you have canceled your membership. Months after having cancelled and confirmed my cancellation I was charged to my card. These charges were disputed and reversed only to get a call from a collection agency months later and have to explain again that the membership was canceled and forward all emails. Worst customer experience!
Solid gym.Nice equipment. If they dont have the things you need there is always something there to do a modified exercise.
I had been given a 3 month free trial to True Fit that did not expire until the end of March. When Zone took over, I called and they said they would honor it upon re-open after COVID shut down. Today I called, and they now said they would not. Woman on the phone was extremely unprofessional and rude. What a disappointment. Very poor customer service. What a petty certificate not to offer a person looking for a new gym. You lose. Will be sure to share my experience.
Terrible customer service. They told us our membership was canceled but continued to keep charging us for months. They do not care about the safety of employees or clients during COVID.
I would give zero stars if that was an option. It is extremely difficult if not impossible to cancel a membership with this gym. I do not wish to work out in a public gym in light of the current pandemic and I tried to cancel my membership today effective 30 days from now and was told I could not do so because of my contract. I was told when I signed my contract that my membership and payment was monthly and I could cancel at any time. Due to the ongoing nature of COVID-19 I decided to go ahead and cancel. I re-read the language of my contract to be sure that I could cancel. The manager was dishonest when I joined, though I didn’t know it at the time, and blatantly lied to me about my membership, telling me I had a monthly contract and unfortunately the wording in my contract is not very clear. I understood I was signing a monthly contract. I specifically asked the manager at the time why he did not check the box next to “month-to-month” membership on my contract and I was told that was not necessary and that my membership was essentially the same as a month-to-month only with automatic payments and at a discounted rate for using the automatic debits. Nowhere does it state that I was agreeing to make monthly payments for a whole year without any chance of canceling regardless of circumstances. In fact it says I can cancel my “renewal” at ANY time, which I was told and interpreted as my MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP AND PAYMENT, not an annual membership. So assuming I misunderstood the contract, the company has stated repeatedly in other consumer reviews that they have offered cancellation of membership as an option because of COVID19. I’m confused then about why my membership cannot be cancelled now rather than in Dec., or even 30 days from now assuming I follow the contract.I should also note that I teach Les Mills classes and have for 13 years. I was asked to teach Body Combat at this gym when it first opened, but I was told the class name would have to be something different than “Body Combat” since the club at that time was not purchasing a license from Les Mills for Combat classes. I was essentially asked to lie and risk my instructor certification. This business has no morals.I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau regarding this issue, especially if membership fees continue to be withdrawn considering that this company did send ONE (not four as they like to claim) written communication stating that members could cancel their membership at any time. I will also be contacting Les Mills USA/Corporate to be sure they understand that this company seeks to circumvent licensing and distribution rights.I should also note that the “four letters of correspondence” regarding membership during the pandemic that the owner claims to have sent on several other people’s reviews never made it to me or to other friends who are members of this gym. I got one email that was sent to the masses that states, as one of the options: “Cancel Your membership: We truly hope you will not cancel your membership with us and elect to either freeze or accept a credit. Without membership dues, your health club wouldn’t exist and this would be devastating. If you feel you need to cancel, simply mail a letter to your home club stating you wish to cancel your account and sign and date it. We will process your membership and send a confirmation once this is completed.” I am now being told that my contract doesn’t allow me to cancel, even though the ONE email (not four) that was sent specifically says I CAN cancel as a result of the pandemic.By contrast, I also work out at Raintree Athletic Club which is a wonderful organization and has communicated with members and team members WEEKLY since this pandemic hit the U.S. The ZONE needs to do better and the many bad reviews are evidence of this! I sincerely hope people read this review and do not join this gym. They do not care about their members. You can also search for this company on the Better Business Bureau website where you’ll find they have an F rating and are not even BBB accredited.
One of the few gyms open in Fort Collins after Covid-19. Reasonable Covid-19 restrictions. Mask required to enter and exit but not while working out. Good cleaning procedures.
The gym isnt perfect, but it is well worth the price. I have gone to CSU rec, Miramont, Ascent, and 24 Hour Fitness in town. Trufit/Zone has been the best bang for your buck in my opinion. I am paying less than half than what I did at any other gym and I get the same quality workouts.
I love this gym. It’s super affordable, they have childcare (that is also super affordable), and I love the classes. My only complaints would be that they close childcare in the afternoon, but I assume that as they build they will open longer. Because the childcare can get very busy since it’s only open certain hours. And there are no towels. But I can live without that considering what we pay.
This gym accommodates in so many ways! The tour is hassle-free and allows you to see if the gym will fit your specific fitness needs before you sign up for a membership. We have three memberships here and we all enjoy our workouts during our before/after work hours. Meghan and Gretchen are great instructors for the group cycle classes. They challenge you to perform your best at your own pace. The yoga and Pilates classes provide a full body work out while in a relaxed setting. Upstairs, they have open spaces for personal training, new machines and the weights area is always clean and put back.
This new company the zone is terrible! They will not return any phone calls. After COVID-19 started they communicated to us via mass email and the steps to get your refund. Well sorry folks. After 3 months... YOU DO NOT GET ONE. They will avoid you like the plague and NEVER call you back. Nothing like a good ol SCAM ARTIST to come in and destroy a once amazing brand!
Love coming here! The location and price are perfect for me. The equipment is new and well cared for. The facility is always clean... Actually this is the cleanest gym Ive ever been a member of! The staff is super friendly and helpful. I do personal training with Joel and it is well worth every penny and minute of my time! I would highly recommend!
I tried canceling my membership over a couple months ago. I was told over the phone that it would be canceled. I noticed I got charged that month and the next one plus the $50 fee. I was told that Josh Montgomery would call me. Then I called a couple days later and they told to email him. I was given the wrong email. I tried calling once a gain and was told he would call me back then given a different email. This time it was correct. He responded 4 days later asking me for the original email but when I canceled I was told over the phone it was already done. I messaged him 4 times and still haven’t heard back. So I got ripped off of $90 and still no one has reached out. I’ve never dealt with this in my life. I do not recommend this place at all!
I was put in debt collection for a kids clup fee that I called and cancelled on the phone back in March they never said anything about a remaning balance or a fee. I never got an e mail, phone call or a letter about this issue.Months later I learned through a friend who had a similar problem for a membership fee that she was on debt collection. I wanted to call and just check my account with them I was told I was in debt collection too.Now I got a letter from an agencies I have to work through to dispute and fix this.Very unprofessional and no communication. I was never in a debt collection before. I shouldnt had been in this either. You cant put people through this and keep going your business.
Very clean gym. Very up to date and an enjoyable place to workout. The more it was open for business it was more full and full it got but you get that at any gym. The ownership is very understanding. I moved pretty far from the gym and was unable to regularly attend like id like too. The operations manager listened and understood my situation, in resulting helping me out hugely! Would definitely recommend this gym to anyone looking to switch up their gym scene or simply new to Fort Collins area. The price is GREAT too!
This gym just sucks in general now. It used to be good. Would be better if they made it a 24hr gym at the least.
Horrible company to deal with if you need to cancel your gym membership. My father tried canceling months ago. Made calls and emails and noone would ever respond. Then the whole Covid19 happened and they still charged him while they were closed. Finally today he got a hold of someone and they refuse to refund his money for when they were closed and wanted to charge him a cancellation fee. Not good customer service especially for an elderly person to deal with.0/10 would recommend
This club is not worth your time. To many good clubs in Fort Collins that are willing to have you as members. Josh, the manager, should not be in that position, as he does not know how to manage or communicate with members. Three months ago he stated we would be getting a refund in 8- 10 days, ( I have it in writing). Still havent received our refunds and can not get him to respond to emails.Could not get him to communicate by phone either.
I am currently in the middle of disputing charges made from Zone. Because I am disputing these charges, they added an additional 20.00 fee for each charge that is in dispute. And theres 4 charges. They do not have a signed contract from me nor did they disclosed a 20.00 fee will be charged if you dispute charges.
I have called, emailed, and used Facebook messenger to cancel our membership since the beginning of March and no one has gotten back to us. We have 5 people on a membership that all needed to stop payments and not one time did someone get back to me. Now I had the credit card processing charge today so obviously that still works. I understand that this a challenging time right now but this started before this virus shut down our community. Gym has great facilities but the communication on membership is awful. If you can still charge my card you could return a phone call, a message, or email.
Prior to COVID, I posted a review where my only gripe was the crowds. However, since COVID, my review has changed. While I see many reviews here saying that many letters and other forms of communication were sent to members, it seems many people (myself included) did not receive anything. I have 3 people on my membership (including myself) and have been charged every month accept April during COVID although we reached out many times and it was confirmed that Trufit would freeze the account from April on. They didnt charge me for April but then started to charge me again without letting me know. The new ownership is just as bad as the terrible previous ownership. I have been very involved in the fitness community, especially around Fort Collins, and this is by far the worst ownership across all gyms in NoCo.The owner replies to the reviews saying the same nonsense about the fact that it was a “state wide closure” and that they “contact all members via 4 letters, emails, and post on the website” yet there are many many posts here that state otherwise. Do you really think we all came together to lie about not receiving communication? Figure it out and do better. You have definitely lost my business, including the 3 others that I had sign up. In fact, I will actively advocate against this gym until I see that they can demonstrate at least mediocre customer service
This place is a scam. They will treat you like gold to get you signed up, once they have your money they treat you like trash. So many things wrong with customer service/processes in general. The low price is appealing at first, but you are better off paying more for a professional gym to avoid conflicts with management and canceling. Management is non responsive. Dont be fooled!
APPARENTLY IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL!!!!! I have been trying to cancel my monthly membership since mid July. (Actually, I tried back in January, only to be told by the fella that answered the phone that I would be contacted by someone about canceling. Enter COVID, yadda, yadda, yadda.)I called mid July, was told that since I could not take time to travel back into FoCo during my work day to meet with a “membership specialist” that I should email [email protected] and my cancellation would be processed. Whelp, I’ve been charged another month’s dues. I have contacted my bank to dispute the charges and have contacted the BBB. Any other ideas?
Absolute most unprofessional and incompetent employees and management. The cheap price reflects the quality of service.
Always a machine broke, such as the stair master. Whereas, there’s already a limited number of them... They recently had half of the gym’s carpet ripped up for several days, which put people closer together (seems like a covid violation). Lastly, I tried to cancel my membership earlier this week and it has taken them 5 business days and counting to email me back.
The head manager is awful to deal with. I was charged $100 for personal training. I originally agreed to one month of this and was told I could cancel if I didnt want to continue after the month. I didnt want to continue and was charged another $100. I came in expecting it to be a honest mistake. Well the manager of this location essentially called me a liar and said I signed a year long contract. I told him I dont think I signed a year contract for the personal training and was told I could cancel after a month if I didnt want to continue. He then proceeded to lecture me on the fact that i signed a contract. Well after being ridaculd by him for about 20 minutes and a lot of back and forth he tried to pull up my contracts. Well surprise, surprise I never signed any contracts for personal training. Then he proceeded to say he would do me a favor and refund the money. I dont really see how you are doing me a favor when there were never contracts signed and the person who originally got me started with personal training said I could just test it out for a month. Then they wanted me to sign additional contracts without letting me actually see my contract. I couldnt believe they would even ask me this especially since you just proved you run your business solely on contracts not what is best for your customer. I left without an apology of any sort and the manager thinking he did me a favor! The only reason I didnt give 1 star is I love the few people in charge of the group classes I attend. However, with managers like this I really wonder how long they will be around before they quit and move onto a gym that is managed better...UPDATE- I still have not received my refund and an still fighting them on the refund. I spoke with them again the other day and was told they would check into it. The next day I was charged another $100! I have now contacted my bank and have them investigating the new $100 as fraudulent. This is absolutely crazy!UPDATE AGAIN- finally got my money refunded what a nightmare.
I would not recommend this gym unless you like going to a gym that is extremely busy. Don’t expect to find parking as the parking lot is almost always full. At 5am or 5pm. The staff says to come during the middle of the day when it’s not busy, but most of us have to work during the day. The equipment is nice and new, but it is hard to use because there are so many people. Gyms like this sell low cost memberships to bring in more clients which in turn makes the gym too crowded. Don’t expect a refund on your membership.
Good place to work out, no towels or anything fancy but good equipment and wifi for music. I have not tried any classes but they do offer many classes. Bring a water bottle!
Good luck trying to get out of your membership. They have predatory billing practices.
This location is horrible. They do not care about any of their clients and treat them very poorly. A lot of the equipment have issues and they are not maintained regularly, and the staff chooses not to act when these issues are brought to light. That aside, their general manager Josh is the most stoic and non-caring person ever. He only knows how to read the rules and threaten to send you to collections if you dont pay. I am literally forced to come into the building in person and no other options or solutions to me wanting to leave were offered. The entire staff only know how to fight for a sale, but not your loyalty apparently.
Ok gym for cardio but plenty of bro’s and meatheads if you go to the weight lifting “zone”. This gym has very little integrity, they have been charging fees during Covid-19 and provides very little communication on how they plan to make it right to the customer . I put in for a credit and was still charged for months of March, April, May and June. On top of the “annual” fee. So since they were closed for months I’m stuck with the bill. By the looks of other comments I’m not alone. Very shady ownership That has changed hands multiple times and whenever I try to talk to a manager no one is ever available and I’m given the run around that well look into it. Really would love if someone could actually reach out and listen, but they don’t care as long as they money keeps hitting their accounts. Do yourself a favor and look at any of the other gyms in Fort Collins before signing up for this one. Buyer beware.
This club is amazing, great equipment and staff.
Not sure why this is rated so low. I’m also blown away by the fact that people go to the gym to watch TV? For those who actually care about working out — This place is gorgeous. Always always always clean and their staff is very personable. Nicest gym in town and by far the best prices. Atmosphere is a big factor for me and TruFit knocks it out of the park.
I had a great experience today! Friendly staff, nice equipment and super clean!! Not to mention what a great deal it is! I’ve definitely found my gym home.UPDATE:I am on week six and continue to love this gym. Everyone is so nice and for someone super out of shape, thats comforting. I work with Bryan, one of the PT, and he couldnt be more helpful or kind. He is the reason that six weeks later I am sticking with an exercise plan and making positive changes. If I could, I would give both Bryan and Tru Fit ten stars.
I am so happy that I found and joined this gym. they have many different packages and you design your schedule and your fitness journey. All the equipment is nice and in good working order. There are always staff members up in the gym which makes asking questions easier. A very friendly and positive atmosphere
THE WORST CLUB in town. I tried reaching out during COVID to simply put my membership on hold... AFTER 2 voicemails and talking to 3 people on the phone, Josh (manager) said he would call the cops and say I was trespassing if I came in to the club, even though I paid my monthly membership as of June 6th.....
Read the reviews........I just read them......even a Local Guide gives it a one star. That means a lot since they all seem to give only 4 or 5.........I want to support local business but this is not worth it.......My original review-OK people.....they are new I understand and I signed up as one of their first customers with the knowledge that things are new and classes may change. The front desk guy is unhelpful and not welcoming, the gym is hot and sweaty....yuk, no towels provided...cheap and extra yuk...the manager was not empathic, customer service just hung up on me....Oh yes, the 29.95 extra fee we charged you unannounced is in the fine print even though its 19.95.......There is a reason its rated 2.5 and I think thats generous. I cannot wait to cancel my contract in May....stupid me....There are many options out there........this one is just a revenue generator and a poor one at that.......I copy pasted this from a review below:Referring to a contract total that intentionally conceals a hidden fee is downright fraud. Worst employees ever. (Training manager Joel and trianers are exception) Not helpful in anyway. I have been calling for months since covid hit to cancel membership and every single time these people have said the wrote down my name and phone number and never once have I gotten a call back. Then they proceeded to tell me when I did finally get ahold of them that if I had colled it would be written in a book. So instead of apologizing for mistakes theyre employees had made tried to tell me I was wrong. Terrible why to handle a customer who you are continuing to charge and the company refuses to refund any of the money they have been charging customers through the shut down. They are also refusing to credit the months that I have paid that they have been closed unless I pay MORE MONEY and put the money twords a trainer. Now that ive canceled they are telling me they are going to charge me another month since my billing cycle fall within 10 days of cancellation even though I have been calling for 2 months now. When was tru fit I never had any issues with feeling like my needs were met, I know that this is a big change for everyone. Im sure a lot of people lost thier jobs but that is NO excuse for POOR management, accusing customers a lying and having ZERO phone calls returned over an 8 week period. At the end of phone call I did tell them they suck, probably inappropriate but I feel they have not tried at all to help me not be charged something should be done and in sorry this zone athletics should not be in business as they a criminal and theieves for refusing to refund they money they continued to take when theyre business was closed.
Havent been to this gym in over 6 months and they automatically cycled me for another annual payment as well as a monthly payment over-drafting my account. I called to ask this to be reversed and the owner told me that he will not be helping me in any way. This gym is over priced, over filled, and ownership couldnt care less. I recommend working out literally anywhere else...
Great gym in my opinion. Great selection of equipment. I have never had an issue finding what I needed for my workout whether it was during the busy hours or slow. There is a few racks of medicine balls, dumbbells, etc around the gym, so PLENTY to choose from. Every fee, due date, etc is in the contract you sign. Take a few minutes out of your day to read it carefully so you dont run into problems when unexpected fees show up. Overall, awesome gym.
Has a great variety of weights!
Deceptive fees? Report them using the Colorado Consumer Protection Agencys simple online form.Appears its becoming popular for gyms to charge hidden fees that you only find out about when your membership contract is nearly signed. But Tru-Fit takes this to a new level of deception. I signed up for a charter membership with Tru-Fit Fort Collins on my Android phone. The sign-up process includes a screen that clearly presents you Contract Total, including taxes and add-ons. Yet as you move through the signing process, youre presented with a screen that asks you to sign for a Club Enhancement Fee which is never mentioned, nor is an amount ever listed. The screen for this fee does contain a Preview Membership Agreement link which takes you back to the same Contract Total screen mentioned above -- never revealing the Club Enhancement Fee. In fact, any time during the process when you click to review your membership agreement, there is no mention of this fee. I discovered the fee when I saw an additional $49 charge on my credit card statement that ran in excess of the costs presented as Contract Total which is linked to whenever you click to Preview Membership Agreement.Referring to a contract total that intentionally conceals a hidden fee is downright fraud. If youve had a similar experience, take a few minutes to report Tru-Fit using the Colorado Consumer Protection Agencys simple online complaint form. Not worth the time or effort. The prices are low but the transparency is terrible. Customer service is awful, if you want to cancel they disappear and you cannot get them on the phone or over email.
After the state ordered gyms to close due to COVID-19, Tru Fit continued to charge their members monthly dues. They sent an email to their members stating that they will continue to charge these dues, despite the fact that they are closed. They further stated that IF, keyword if, a member would like a refund, they need to submit a request in writing and they will process those requests after the re-open. Absolutely absurd.Dear TruFit: It is the risk you take, the cost of doing business and being a business owner, to lose money. While nobody could have predicted these state mandated closures, do not screw over your members who are also trying to survive this.
I strictly signed up here for the child care. I used it maybe 10 times in the year. Reason being, is because my 3 year old, yes 3 year old escaped the child care. The first time they caught him in the lobby. I told them to please fix the door ASAP. Second time they caught him trying to open the door to the lobby( they didn’t fix the door). 3rd time I was lifting upstairs and I look over at the staircase, and here comes my boy!! He made it all the way upstairs!!!!!! Absolutely insane( they clearly still didn’t fix the door) . I yelled at everyone that’s “in charge” and never returned. Complete waste of money, they never offered me compensation for the wasted membership. Glad I’m gone!!
The staff and the Gym itself was great, I had a little trouble with canceling my membership through the third party company they hired however Zone cleared the issue up.
I have added a star because they have wifi now. Equipment is clean, and classes are good (spin/cycle). Fair...not much different then 24 hour fitness except newer. Missing some basics in equipment like an ab wheel, and need more mats. Shop around before you sign up as the other gyms in the area have more amenities for lower cost.
Truly a horrible business, I signed up during the no contract agreement. They didnt hold to that agreement. As my wife had Major medical issues come up and our pup going through cancer and having to put her down. They would not understand, we tried to cancel before any fees but alas they still charged us for yearly dues. I will not be returning to this gym again and canceled our membership
Staff is great and friendly. Equipment is good.. classes are fun! Always clean.
I have had a membership at this gym for a couple months now and has been okay. The equipment is very nice and has good class times but the employees are extremely rude people. a few weeks ago, I came in with my 17 year old daughter and asked how much a day pass would be and it was $15... for a day pass! I then went on to ask how much a membership was for her and he said we dont like to give our prices out because they change so often. this was extremely frustrating to me and havent gone back since & am thinking of cancelling my membership. Id rather just work out at my community rec center.
They will send you to collections, even if you never wanted them to stop billing you. They will lie about it, and if you can connect with a manager it will be from nothing but sheer luck. We will be telling everyone we know to avoid this place like the plague
I just joined this club after being at Miramont for 21 years. So far I have really enjoyed the small group fitness and the spin bikes are awesome! My only criticism is that the bathrooms need to be just a bit cleaner (toilets, floors). Thought I would mind bringing my own towels, but dont. Their weight machines are very current and a variety of machines to boot.
Nope just stay away. Things are not clean, equipment is broken, yet for some reason it is always packed (probably because it is cheap). The sign up / tracking / cancellation process for classes is beyond cumbersome. Charter members were told it was month to month and we could cancel at any time - that would be a big old nope. Turns out it is a year contract (in the fine print of the contract that you look at only on a screen, that on me - I know better than to not get a printed contract and throughly read it for gym memberships.)The extra star is that they do have a few decent personal trainers and the spins classes are actually really good.
Terable costumer service. There membership cancelation is the biggest headache Ive ever dealt with employes give no help whatsoever rude I tried cancelling my membership for 2 months now still no luck the latest charger put me on an overdraft fee so I gave them a call to cancel again and they told me that I had to email them which I already did the first time. tried speaking to a manager to cancel on the phone the employee on the phone with me told me that he couldnt do that even after my brother in law just did it 10 minutes after I called. Employee was rude and argued with me the whole time I was on the phone so yea find a better gym that this one it will save you a tremendous amount of patience
