This gym defines community! The owners Kody and Kyle Knapp have done an absolutely tremendous job creating the perfect environment that athletes of all levels love to call home. And it truly feels like a home. Its one of the strongest communities Ive seen or been a part and I think all other gyms should look to emulate it. If youre looking for a CrossFit gym to call home in Fort Collins, this is it. Plus they CRUSH at local comps around town ALWAYS bringing home some medals! #Hooligans
Such a great facility/operation in so many ways! Kody was running a large class with ease and with great energy!Great use of space and plethora of equipment for all!
I dropped in while visiting Ft. Collins for a couple of days. The staff/coaches were very welcoming and enthusiastic about my being there. 10/10 would recommend!
These guys were great. I was in town for one week and had a total of 4 coaches. Everyone was stellar. These guys take the time to explain! Love em
Top coaches. Top facility and i never felt out of place or judged as a newcomer. These guys know how to do CrossFit and do it right.Highly recommend CrossFit DNR.
This has been my home for the past 2 years. The DNR Hooligans are my family. I can’t thank the Knapp brothers enough for building such an amazing community and what they have done for me as far as building strength, confidence, and love for the sport. These coaches are serious about your health and will show this by carefully monitoring your form and instilling confidence in yourself to perform lifts correctly. No matter your background or how long you have done Crossfit, they will be able to make you even better.
The first thing I noticed about this gym is how clean it is every day. Ive been to several gyms here in Fort Collins over the last 10 years, and this is by far the best kept in town. The equipment is in great shape, plentiful, and consistently serviced. Beyond that, the programming is extremely challenging, yet very adaptive to all ability levels. I consider myself an experienced cross fitter, and couldnt believe how much more challenging the programming was compared to my previous crossfit gym. The athletes and coaches at this gym immediately pushed me to a level my previous gym was not able to. I would recommend this gym to all levels, from first time to experienced, as they are well suited for everyone. It was tough to leave the comfort of the gym I had gone to for a long period of time. My only regret is not switching to DNR long before I did.
Spent the last 2.5ish years here and loved it! They have created a great community
The best coaches around. Theyre competitive, yet laid back. Demanding, yet approachable. Youve found your gym. Stop looking. 6 pack abs? Maybe at those other gyms. Try 12 pack abs here. Walk in the door and you get fit. Thats how it works here. This is your home now. You will be fit. You will have good hair.
I moved to Fort Collins two years ago knowing absolute no one, and Crossfit DNR was the first place I made friends. Everyone is extremely nice and its such a fun environment. Besides, all the coaches are amazing and they really care about you, making sure you have proper form and dont hurt yourself. If youre new to Crossfit, youre gonna love it! For the experienced athletes, its also an awesome place for your training, with a really motivated comp crew and excellent coaching.
I was apprehensive about starting cross fit initially but Kodi and Kyle inspired me to continue cross fit even after I moved out of Fort Collins. All the trainers here were really awesome. It is a great community and you will have fun burning those calories.
They start all new athletes with a solid 3 week foundations + intro class, making sure people get their movement patterns down, become aware of mobilty issues, etc. The coaches attention to form is remarkable, and I have definitely heard advice around dropping weight and improving form for all sorts of athletes, whereas nobody pushes anybody to go heavier. The community within the gym is outstanding, full of mutual encouragement, advice, cheering for each other, and friendships beyond the gym. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
Worked out here for my month stay in Fort Collins. Even though I was only in town for a month the couches were super nice and always gave great feedback. Programming was awesome too. I would def recommend this gym.
If you have been considering CrossFit at all this gym is the place to start. Great intro program and the coaches are concerned with making sure you are learning the movements safely and not on lifting beyond your means. I have been going for almost 2 years now and the gains I have seen in my fitness level and strength is incredible!I cannot recommend these guys enough!
Best CrossFit gym I’ve joined by far. Really great programming and coaching with a great gym community!
The entire crew at this gym is amazing. They are more than willing to accommodate any level of person that signs up there. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to find a new gym.
I walked-in knowing nothing about crossfit and fell in love with fitness/crossfit because of Crossfit DNR. Its an amazing community and has the best trainers. I cannot recommend enough.Just start here, you will love it.
Can. Not. Recommend. This. Gym. Enough.I was very against the idea of Crossfit for so long (bias about Crossfitters not caring about form, etc.). Everyone at Crossfit DNR showed me what Crossfit is truly about. The coaches pay incredible attention to detail with form, and have shown me ways to improve my mobility, strength, endurance, and as result, I have done a complete 180 in my views about Crossfit (basically an addict now). In fact, I would say I was humbled (lets be honest, I thought I was decently in shape before and knew better than the coaches about some things... first metcon I realized I had a lot of work to do, lessons to learn, and an ego to majorly check). The coaches (and members) are some of the most welcoming, encouraging, and attentive people youll ever meet. Ive found my Crossfit home, and will forever use it as the standard to which I compare other Crossfit gyms. My only wish is that my job wasnt in Boulder and was instead closer to Fort Collins so I wasnt only coming here 1-2 days a week!
Crossfit DNR is welcoming and the workouts are varied and fun! The coaches are incredibly kind, motivating, and attentive. They offer classes throughout the day to accommodate many class and work schedules.
Fantastic environment - coaches really care about you as an athlete - have been very informative to me coming into the CrossFit world with zero experienceWould recommend to anyone regardless of your current health
Great programming, great community. Highly recommend to crossfitters in the Noco area.
Absolutely love this gym! Kody and Kyle are great coaches who genuinely care about everyone of their clients. They always have extra coaches for every class to watch and help everyone out with their form or to answer any questions they may have. They both have backgrounds in gymnastics, which I believe helps them with the ability to explain movements easier to clients who are new to weightlifting. Overall a very friendly and fun environment for anyone who is interested in trying out crossfit.
Knowledgeable and friendly coaches - childcare available and showers on site are a major bonus - mobility programmed into each class is super beneficial too
Crossfit DNR is an awesome establishment with great and mindful staff. Whether youre experienced in crossfit or not these guys will not only take care of you they will closely observe you to ensure that you are getting the workout and coaching you need to be successful. These guys make crossfit accessible and fun. The community of the gym is also top notch. Their facility is simple but completely equipped and able to meet all of your crossfit needs in a clean and professional environment.
I have been going to Crossfit DNR for over 2 years and the coaches and athletes have always been welcoming and fun! The coaches are friendly and knowledgeable. I absolutely recommend Crossfit DNR to anyone!
Can’t say enough good stuff about this place! I hated talking about CrossFit and really hated the idea of doing a workout. I walked into DNR and immediately fell in love. They help you through anything and encourage you to do better! Never intimidating and it feels like family! It’s a gym full of teddy bear badasses who make you feel at home!
What a great gym!! This is my 4th Crossfit gym I have been a member to over the years and I can finally call this HOME!!! Great people and amazing coaches!
So here’s my story and why DNR is by far the most professional, highly-trained and educated gym for anyone and everyone. I know it might be long but Crossfit DNR is much more than just a 5 star review.I didn’t play any sports as a kid, and cheated in gym class because I hated working out. I went to college and undoubtedly gained 50lbs, but started going to the rec regularly. I graduated college and did the 24 hour/Raintree Athletic gym ordeal and attempted to stay consistent in my workouts but continued gaining weight. I always heard about Crossfit but I thought it was for really fit, athletic people who lived and breathed gym life. About two years ago, and at my heaviest - I joined a different Crossfit gym after much encouragement. It was decent - the coaches were nice, but there was something off. I always felt tense, because the other woman/girls were too competitive and judgy and I was just a beginner who knew nothing at all about anything. The workouts were fine but I couldn’t go to a gym where I was trying to improve myself but leaving feeling worse off every time. So I tried every single Crossfit gym in the city limits of Fort Collins. There were some good gyms, some bigger than others, but it wasn’t until I picked Crossfit DNR that everything I knew about Crossfit changed. There are two brothers that own and run the gym and they are the most intelligible, dedicated, passionate, respectful and such organized individuals that I was sold. The equipment was treated well, the members of the gym were kind, they had good lighting/clean bathrooms/clean gym and were kind to every single person who walked in their door. In my time there, I lost 30 lbs, gained so much strength and built confidence in myself that I had no idea existed. The brothers, Kody and Kyle are the coolest guys - they are so passionate and skilled at what they do, they emphasize treating your body well, stretching and mobility as well as proper form which was so important to me. They took so much time out of every class to work with me one on one because I suck at Crossfit - but they never gave up on me. I worked with them for a short time for personal training, and they took me reaching my goals more seriously than I thought possible. I was also mind blown by how phenomenal the female coaches were - they are by far the coolest, most humble women I had ever met in my life. Specifically, coach Marie is one of the biggest reasons I continued to push myself in Crossfit. She was encouraging, motivating and so humble that was never a moment in my mind that I felt competition with her - and she’s the strongest, best athlete I have ever met. She, as a woman, could have used her strength and skill to intimidate other woman, but instead she uses it to teach, relate, and encourage others - she has the kindest heart! I am writing this all in a review, because I use to be the girl who would sit at home on Instagram eating chips and queso praying for a body that I didn’t want to work for and judging Crossfit for things that were all lies. I was and still am a beginner, but joining Crossfit DNR was by far the best decision I have ever made. I wasn’t even super close with anyone at the gym as I kept to myself most of the time, but just being there felt like family. Crossfit DNR is truly one in a million - you have trained coaches who will take an overweight/not athletic person and treat them like an athlete. They will take an athlete and make them a professional. They will help you reach your goals, big or small, physical or mental. They will encourage you, they provide resources to maintain proper nutrition, if you so choose to hang out outside of the gym they have built a great community to be involved in, and they have created an environment where anyone, of all levels in life, can be in the same room together struggling through the same workout. If you are unsure about Crossfit, just drop in and do one class. If you are unsure about what gym in Fort Collins, take my word that you will be thankful that you joined DNR. There is truly no better gym out there.
I visited DNR for a CrossFit competition (FoCo Throwdown) in January 2018. Im not a member, and do not attend regular classes, so I cant speak to the day-to-day (I live an hour away). What I can say is this...Their coaches are incredibly friendly and they put together an awesome competition. Their members, who served as judges & volunteers for the event, were also really nice. I felt a great sense of community, which is what CrossFit is all about.I have nothing but great things to say about this place, and if youre considering CrossFit, I recommend you check them out.
This place is the real deal. As a Marine who sustained a back injury, I was hesitant to commit to new workout regimens and my health/fitness was beginning to reflect. I met Kody, a trainer at DNR, who spoke to me about mobility and rehabilitation training. Immediately I was able to tell that DNR staff are impressively knowledgeable and passionate about fitness and so I agreed to come in for some personal training sessions. I learned more about form, mobility, warm-ups, and my own body in just 2 sessions with Kody than I did in the several years I have been lifting (I am also an ISSA Master Trainer). I was blown away by the professionalism and overall friendly atmosphere of DNR from the staff all the way down to the gym members themselves. If I did not have to move I would absolutely have continued my membership.
If you have ever thought about joining a CrossFit gym or lacked the motivation to really work hard when you get to the gym, you need to try CrossFit DNR. The owners are two brothers, kody and kyle and not only are the educated in proper technique for the workout lifts but they are great motivators and always make you feel comfortable even if you dont have much experience like I did. I highly recommend this gym, so give it a try!
Great box, great atmosphere, and competitive athletes. If you want a box to challenge yourself, just workout, or push your training to the next level- then this is it.
As good as it gets! Coaches are A+++ with incredible knowledge of oly and powerlifting movements. Environment is friendly and encouraging. Classes are capped so there is never too many people WODing at one time and coaches are always keeping an eye on you to make sure your movements are correct and safe. Members are great and chill - nobody here is roiding. Id recommend this box if you wanted to get after it, stay safe and injury free, have fun, and be part of a nice community.
Younger crowd, good coaches
Great place to do Crossfit!
Too loud with the weights
