This is a great place!!! I swear by it & they are my go to for any and all sewing/tailoring. The women are very kind, take pride in their work & helpful to make sure they understand what you want to make it happen in the best way!I bought a pretty expensive comforter from Macy’s that ended up falling apart after washing it. I love it so much I thought to turn it into a duvet cover.I called a few places around to get some prices & all wanted to charge close to $200 dollars.Then I called The Sewing Room & they gave me a very reason price! They did a FANTASTIC job! Better than I even expected! Very reason price & time frame to complete!I put my new duvet cover to the test & washed it, making sure everything stays as should & it pasted the test!!!Very very please!!!I’ve even taken a shirt that had just a little rip in the strap, they took it in right away, did a quick fix & didn’t ask for compensation! I appreciate that! & I was in & out within 10 minutes.

From start to finish all of the ladies blew me away. I walked in on a whim and stressed. Knowing I was running short on time and my dress wasn’t going to be easy. Without an appointment they got me in within 20 min (they were not slow at all btw) and immediately identified the needs of the dress and gave a timeline of today. I cannot thank Ruby enough!! I bought a wedding dress but it was two sizes bigger and with this hideous poncho on top! She made it into a brand NEW dress! I brought it to ruby on a Friday and in three fittings she absolutely custom fitted my dress completely by the next Wednesday. The price was perfect! The fit was gorgeous! Ruby is AMAZING!! I didn’t think I would be able to get my wedding dress altered in time when we decided to go forward with our small wedding last minute but Ruby assured me she would get it done and she sure did! I am super short so she had to take a ton off the bottom and my dress has tons of details, but she was able to keep every bit of detail-I couldn’t believe it. The bustle was perfect and so unique and held all night. Ruby was kind, professional and attentive through the whole process and I am so lucky to have been able to work with her for something this special and big! Extremely disappointed in my experience with the sewing room. I will NEVER use their services again. I brought curtains in over three weeks ago and explained in great detail what I needed (layered look at the bottom to extend the length while creating an almost ruffled effect with a flap). I demonstrated what this should look like in the store. A week after they said they would be done I hadn’t heard back from them so I called and they couldn’t even find my order or the curtains. They said they’d call back right away but didn’t. The next morning I received a call from the lady doing the alterations saying she was just restarting them and asked me to explain what I wanted her to do to them over the phone. She then proceeded to tell me THREE times that she didn’t think the way I wanted them done would look good - specifically that they would look “funky.” I respectfully responded that I wanted them done in that exact way regardless. I picked them up yesterday and they were done completely wrong. There was no flap. I would never recommend using their services due to them losing my order and then going against what I asked them to do.

These ladies are amazing!! My sister used their tailoring and alterations services for her wedding dress. They did awesome work and were very helpful and kind. The wait for any alterations were not long and they were very responsive with any questions or concerns we had. The dress turned out great and was very fitting and comfortable for my sister to wear. I had a great experience with The Sewing Room. I had a shirt that needed some snaps replaced and was in a real time crunch. The shirt had some original custom snaps that could not be replaced, and initially I thought I was going to have to replace all of them to stay consistent. The Sewing Room was able to remove and save the original snaps, and use them for the repair. I brought the shirt in for repair in the afternoon on day 1 and had it back the next morning! On top of the speed and quality of the repair, everyone in the shop was very kind and friendly. Highly recommend. These ladies are amazing! I leave for a wedding tomorrow and Mens Warehouse completely dropped the ball and missed their deadline to line my pants for a wedding. I gave them 20 days, but apparently that wasnt enough time. After a minor panic attack, the ladies at The Sewing Room dropped everything and got the job done in less then 5 hours! I brought my wedding dress in to get it altered. They did an AMAZING job!! I also ordered some rhinestones to have sewn on my dress. It just needed some more sparkle. They placed at least 500 pieces on my dress and it was transformed. I absolutely love it! My fiance need to have his suite tailored for engagement photos. They had it ready in less than a week. It looked wonderful on him. I am extremely pleased with The Sewing Room. They are reasonably priced and so friendly. Their work is incredible. Awesome experience! Ruby altered my wedding dress and boy she did an awesome job. I had brought in a too big and also too small in some places and not to mention too long wedding dress, unsure exactly how it was supposed to fit. I walked in with a wedding dress, with the sleeves too big and slomped over, tripping over the length of the dress and not a clue the true potential of it.By the end of our third try on, she had nailed it. She made my wedding dress finally feel like it was MINE. I no longer had to cringe, or pull, or prod, or poke at the dress to get it to fit. She was extremely friendly, kind, patient and professional. I genuinely enjoyed my time working with her and will come back for any other sewing needs! I wouldnt trust too many people to fix a wedding dress, but Ruby exceeded my expectations and was very knowledgeable.

The Sewing Room did a beautiful job altering my wedding dress to make it fit beautifully. The seamstress was pleasant and responsive to my request at making everything feel comfortable.The reason Im giving 3 stars, not 5: the bustle on my dress was completely non-functional. I didnt find this out until the day of, when my maid of honor was scrambling to get it to attach to the tiny hook in the back. The bustle repeatedly fell out, causing me to slip and fall (hard, in front of everyone - whoops!) the first time I tried to dance. After multiple attempts at getting the bustle to hold, we ended up safety pinning the back, bunching it up the best we could so I could move. Unfortunately, I wasnt able to dance much at my own wedding because of this sewing error.After the wedding, I emailed The Sewing Room to explain what had happened. Two weeks later, Ive received no response. Id hate for this to happen to another bride, so if youre getting your dress altered there, please double check the bustle situation before taking the dress home!* UPDATE on 6/29/2017 * Yesterday I spoke with The Sewing Room. The owner was kind, and explained that theyre going to anticipate that problem for longer bustles going forward, getting a better clasp system. She apologized and refunded me the price of the bustle. Yes, I finally found the tailor I needed. I had eight gloves to be altered, not only were they done before the time promised, bit they were some perfectly.I also brought in two jackets, one was leather and they both needed extreme alterations. Its a small shop with three ladies who do fantastic and quick work. They were able to hem my boyfriends suit in just a few days. When we came back to try on and needed to take off another inch they did within 2 hours so we could have it in time for our friends wedding. We highly recommend.

Getting my wedding dress altered has been one of the more pleasant wedding planning experiences. Planning during a pandemic has not been easy, but the entire process from start to finish was SEAMLESS! I was worried my dress wouldn’t fit right because I’ve lost weight since I bought it. I am a very picky person when it comes to how things fit. So much so that my wife refuses to clothes shop with me.I brought a suit in for alterations to The Sewing Room expecting a long fitting process and many alterations to get it just right. Being a bride during a pandemic hasnt been easy. Literally everything was going wrong with my wedding until things started to turn around when I found The Sewing Room. They were so kind the moment I walked into the door and made me feel confident with their professional opinions on how they were going to alter the dress. She explained everything to me that she was going to do to the dress and put my mind at ease. When the dress was finished it fit like a glove. I brought in my working dogs safety vest to get some patches sewn on it. I hate to have him work without it so I wasnt looking forward to a whole week without it. Without me having to emphasize the importance of Charlies vest the owners got on it immediately and finished it on the same day even though I knew they were very busy. I have this expensive cowhide leather jacket that was one size to big for me. If you have ever looked into altering leather jackets you know its very risky and almost no one does it. I took it to the sewing room to have it altered, I was unsure if it was even possible but thought id give it a chance... It came out amazing! They took in the side seems, shortened the sleeves, took in the sleeves, and a few other things. Now the jacket fits perfectly! Ask for Ruby if you need a leather jacket altered. I have no doubt if they can alter a leather jacket they can alter anything else -Thank you!

I have been coming here for YEARS, I even had them do my wedding dress alterations! Great, friendly and fast staff. So when I was came in today to get a dress hemmed (just a little off the length), I was blown away when I was told it would cost $70. I feel like that is very steep. I will still be coming here for simple repairs, but not for dress alterations.

Outstanding! This is the place to go for all your sewing needs! The talent of the staff is amazing, and they are excellent communicators, and provide amazing customer service. So refreshing! I have been going there for a little over 1 year. At first, I was taking them little things such as items that buttons fell off, or patching up jeans when one of my daughters seemed to tear them every week! Good work. Ive taken items in that they practically re-built for alteration and they looked better than when I purchased them. Then I brought in an antique placemat (A family heirloom) that one of my kids thought would be good cutting practice (Ugh). They repaired it so well, you would never know anything happened! This place is fantastic! They listened to my concerns about a dress I brought in that I need in a few weeks. They looked at it and assured me they could do what I needed and that they could have it done in time. They finished the dress much sooner that expected and it fits amazingly. I will definitely bring any items that I need altered and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for alterations/tailoring.

I have since used The Sewing Room for two other very difficult items--altering mens blazers into womens. Let me say--simply amazing! Ruby and her staff work Sewing miracles. Best alterations in Northern Colorado! Ruby worked a miracle on a bridesmaids dress that was way too small! The dressn now fits beautifully! Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming. The prices are very reasonable! Highly recommend!!!

Best alterations in town for a reasonable price! I’ve taken many items here ranging from dresses, shirts, and pants to get altered. I’ve never been disappointed, and I’ve always gotten my items back in a timely manner. I tried another place in town for a dress to be altered, the quality wasn’t nearly as good. Plus the alterations were way over priced. Needless to say won’t be going anywhere else than the Sewing Room for my alterations.

I cannot say enough good things about Ruby and The Sewing Room, she made my wedding dress exactly how I dreamt it would be. It was a lot of work because I’m pretty short and the dress came really big and long. I also added fabric in areas I didn’t like see-through. I loved my dress and Ruby made the process easy even driving from Cheyenne.

My experience here created a customer for life out of me. The staff here were very very generous and helpful. I needed a pair of pants hemed today because I had an interview spring up for tomorrow. They hemmed the pants in less than 15 minutes and they charged me a very very reasonable price. Unbelievable. You better believe I will be recommending them to anyone in need of quality work and service.

I have been going to The Sewing Room since I moved to Fort Collins about 6 years ago. Both myself and my husband are oddly shaped and have to get frequent alterations. They always do an excellent and timely job and even accommodated an alteration for a wedding only 24 hours away! They all know me by name and I especially love working with Ruby. I would highly recommend this awesome, locally-owned business!

They did nice work on 2 suits on short notice. I will be back. Very nice ladies. Took their time and measured both pairs of pants. Hems are perfect.

These wonderful ladies altered my wedding dress in no time at all when I was on a short time line. Everything was great! Id highly recommend them for any bride.

Long story short, I bought a heated jacket made by Milwaukee that runs off my drill batteries. Milwaukees sizing is terrible, to get a jacket that fit through my shoulders and arms I had to but a 2XL. This is way to big of a jacket for me in every other regard. They were able to successfully take the jacket in which first of all must have required great skill and appropriate machines as the jacket material is heavy duty. Secondly, as I mentioned it was a heated jacket. Wires ran through it everywhere.! Im happy to say the jacket looks like new, no bunching of material all of the seams are straight and the heating elements function perfectly. Best of all it now fits correctly. I feel the price I paid was fair for the work that was done. Im glad I took my jacket here and will recommend them.

Great job, super fast. Dropped off two pairs of mens slacks to alter waist on Monday before Thanksgiving. Asked to have them back before the following Monday. I went to run some errands and got a call in TWO HOURS that they were done! Amazing! When I tried them on again, one was slightly tight still, so they made the adjustment right there on the spot, very quickly. Very impressed with the speed of service, flexibility and low key atmosphere. Will definitely be using them again in the future. Thanks for the great service!

I do not understand the positive reviews of this store. Perhaps they put more care and time into wedding dress alterations than other clothes. They were not careful with the alterations they made for me, and damaged my clothes.They were very hasty with the fitting, which should have been a red flag. After the tailoring, none of the items fit correctly. I returned to have them fix the mistakes, with limited success. They ruined a brand new shirt because the material was torn during their alterations.
