Great staff! They really care about the animals! Very helpful! Made the adoption process easy! Cant say enough good things about them!

They were very excited to take our donation of two large pet carriers and very appreciative. It was really nice engaging with them and knowing that they are dedicated to their cause.

Incredible place to get a new friend and member of your family. The staff is extremely professional and have huge hearts for the animals they are serving. The entire process was a great experience and I am very thankful we went through them to find our new pet. You will need to fill out an online application to begin the process, but I am very glad they do this. It helps them to ensure that their animals get into the best home they can. Once you get there, you have various ways to be able to interact with the dog to see if he or she would be good for your family and that you would be good for them. You can even walk them on the property in a nice open field. I have attached some pictures of the new family member we got their as he is enjoying his new home.

Took my precious Border Collie / Schipperke to their grooming salon get the works. So impressed! WOW! He looks so clean-cut and his nails are perfect! They were obviously very loving because he came back to me feeling very safe (a feat for my anxious baby). It cost exactly the estimate ($65) and it was worth every cent! Made an appointment to have my flat coated retriever groomed. We waited a month to get in. When we arrived at our scheduled time which was 11:00 we were told it would be 12:30 before she would get started and pick up would be between 4:00 and 4:30. We have never had to leave our dogs more than two hours when being groomed. Very disappointing.We did not leave our Tessie.

Really love the staff and the outdoor area they have here! My boyfriend and I fell in love with Willow as soon as we saw her, and are so happy with what a good dog shes turned out to be. Shes goofy, sweet, and loves to cuddle. She did have a horrible case of happy tail when we rescued her, but with lots of love and a little time, her tail has healed over and looks amazing. Would highly recommend adopting from here, or just stopping in to check it out!

I am torn with this review. I will approach is as this:I have always loved taking my Saint to be groomed at what used to be Animal House. The groomers were fantastic and worked really well with my anxious giant baby and he always looked beautiful! I give the groomers 5 STARSHowever, I have a problem that they no longer groom large breeds. I feel that this is a business decision by the new leadership and what is now the Animal Friends Alliance. You cant really claim that you serve your community when you have an obvious bias against certain breeds. Might I recommend that you change your name to REALLY Small Animal Friends Alliance. Just really disappointed at this decision. I give the new owners 0 STARS

These folks have the animals well being at the forefront of there business as well as make sure the adopters best interests.They are NOT animal flippers like some other rescues. You wont pay a purebred price. And the animals are healthy and well taken care of.AWESOME PLACE. Thanks AFA

They really like to give you and your future furbabies space to get acquainted but are ready and able to answer any questions as soon as they arise. They also did a great job of making the adoption process as painless as possible! Great location and easy to get to as well. Just be sure its the Taft location youre looking for and not Mulberry. Seems to be a common occurrence.

This place is awesome. They got my dog Marlow right in. She is normally really timid and doesnt like new people, but she loved the staff. Prices are affordable and the staff was helpful and professional. We will be coming back for sure.

My roommate recently adopted lovely Oreo this past week. However, I am not happy with the process of adoption/fostering.First off, when we met Oreo there was confusion of another family coming to adopt him and whether we’d get to meet him in the first place. (Originally we reserved a spot at 3 to meet him.)Then, once we decided we liked him and wanted to foster him, they didn’t give us any tags or information. They just handed him off to us. We didn’t know if he was vaccinated or had any other health issues. When we asked questions about Oreo, most staff members said “I don’t know much about him”. It seemed like no one knew what was going on and they were very disorganized.While we were fostering him, this shelter basically backed us into a corner to adopt him and were not flexible at all in giving us more time to make a decision. It was unclear how long the fostering was supposed to be and we felt very rushed into a decision that we had no other choice.This shelter should not take on more dogs if their financial situation is tight right now and we had to suffer because of their financial worries. It’s obvious they want the dogs out of there as quickly as possible so they don’t have to pay for them anymore.

Love them, I called, made an appointment and got to meet the rescue i ended up bringing home. They answered all my questions, provided all the paperwork in a nice folder. Only complaint is i had to buy a leash, wasnt thinking about that when i left my home to go there.

This place is horriable. I will never go back and will no longer refer people to them. They refused to adopt to me and my spouse because we had a rescue who we adopted and could not 100% guaranteed she was fixed. My rescue is of age and not needed at this time. I have referred to many people and will no longer do this. Find a dog any place but here. Worst business ever

I adopted my faithful dog 11 years ago from Animal House. He just died in early July. Although Im not quite ready I went out to their new facility. Molly is wonderful and very committed to finding the right fit. The new facilities are really nice. I walked one dog and workers came up and visited about the dog. Very impressed yet again! When Im ready, I will go back to find my new dog! Love the work they do!

The adoption process is 100X more complicated than it was before Covid, but the Animal Friends Alliance does their best to help walk you through it. Their facility is relatively clean and the animals I saw were healthy and well cared for. The directions for what to do were clear and obviously posted both on site and on the website. I was totally comfortable asking my million questions and, of course, super excited to find my new companion. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to both admit what they didnt know about the animal and to help you find out if they could. There are now 2 happy friends just in my cul-de-sac from this place.

We get our two dogs groomed here, they do an outstanding job and you can feel good about supporting a local shelter.

I take my sweet dog Bella to get groomed here once every few months. The staff is friendly, and always gives her back looking clean and fresh and smelling amazing. I love that the groomer is part of the rescue, and that they remember Bella every time. We moved to Denver last year and I still drive up to Fort Collins to take her to this groomer because they are so affordable and fantastic. Thank you all for all you do!

Great staff and a wonderful mission. We adopted a puppy from them, very honest and straight forward. I highly recommend going by if youre looking for a new animal. Only issue I had is the lobby is very small and gets crowded very quickly. But hey it happens when you have a great place.

We are traveling and they were close to our location so we gave their grooming services a try. We were so pleased the way our King Charles Spaniel was treated. These folks are awesome. As requested they gave us a call about fifteen minutes before finishing so our little girl spent a minimum amount of time waiting for her people and the trim job is the best she has in a long time! Great staff!

Sign says open door locked no one came out. Dropped off tons of blankets towels pillows. Hope they were able to use them.

We adopted a wonderful puppy here. She was with a foster family that had started her training and we continued that. After a month with positive reinforcement she has turned into one of the best furry children weve ever had. She gets along extremely well with her new sister and is so very intelligent. The staff was a pleasure to work with and we were able to bring our current dog along to see how her and the new puppy would get along. We spent at least half an hour in the room making sure they were compatible. After that interaction it was about 10 minutes and we had a new family member. I always recommend this place to anyone looking to expand their family.

I love this place. They love my dog and its shows plus they do a great job. The place is small but still manage to put all the safety requirements for Covid in place.

Adopted a dog from this facility and unfortunately it did not work out. They provide a 2 week trial period to assess if the dog is a good fit or not. Unfortunately it was apparent on day 15 that the dog was not a good fit for my household. Animal house was helpful in taking back the dog but would not compromise or hear me out on their policy concerning adoption fees. Just helpful to know that even if you are making the best decisions for yourself and your pets future you need to make it within their policies because they will not negotiate with you.Edit to address response from owner: Thank you, I understand the average cost associated with the adoption process. Specific to my situation was that I surrendered a puppy 24 hours past the trial period with the best intentions for the life of the puppy in that I knew he would he would have the ability to better connect and bond with his new owner during the earlier stages of his development rather than me selfishly holding on to him. I was assured the following day that he already had applications for his adoption. When I surrendered him I dropped off or donated a fresh bag of food and toys that totaled close to $100 to aid in his transition. So specific to this adoption your organization would receive $275 from me, $275 from the new owner, about $100 in goods for him, and he would most likely only be fostered for a few days before being adopted thereby further reducing his associated cost. I understood your organizations policies but I just felt that your organization would be more understanding of this specific situation and aid in partial compensation of the adoption fee or even provide some form of credit because I have full intentions of adopting an older dog in the future. I felt I made the best choice for the dog and his new owners in the end, so I was hoping that we would have been able to find a middle ground.

I have fostered for several different organizations. This place is by far the best. They take great care of their animals. They do a good job finding the right home, not just any home. The vet care on sight is awesome. The dogs are well cared for while at the vet and are returned to you in excellent condition. I highly recommend!

Love this place. We were so pleased to see the dogs were clean and groomed. Plenty of time to get to know each other in a good-sized room where the dogs could retreat a little until they were comfortable with their visitor. It was clear the staff took good care of the dogs because, even though the pups were in a stressful situation, they were much happier than dogs Ive seen in other adoption centers.

After being disappointed that a dog I wanted to meet had already been claimed, the staff was extremely responsive and active in trying to help my husband and I the right fit. We met two puppies through foster parents and we were impressed by both of them, they cared really well for the dogs and it gave us a lot of confidence in Animal House. When we chose our puppy, It was clear that she had been loved well, and the foster mom had worked with her to house and crate train her. We were also really impressed by how much was covered with the cost of adoption- our puppy was spayed, up to date on all her shots (except rabies because she wasnt quite old enough) and micro-chipped. We also received a voucher for a complimentary initial vet exam as well as a voucher to cover the first bag of pet food so that we could transition her off what she was eating with her foster mom AND a crate for just a small donation. We had a really positive experience with Animal House and we love our pup!

A new group, formed from the merger of two amazing groups that were both around for about a decade. I volunteered for 5 years on the cat side, and have already helped dogs and cats for the combined organization. Wonderful people making a huge impact.

My boyfriend and I went into animal house looking for a dog to adopt. We found a dog perfect for us and went to the front to ask if we could put her on hold. The lady at the front desk seemed excited for us and asked if we would like to go outside and play with the dog. We said yes and went outside for a while and played with a dog we fell in love with. We came back in and she had us fill out an application for her. After we brought our application up the lady proceeded to tell us that someone had put the dog on hold WHILE we were outside with her, even though we had asked to put her on hold before this. She did not seem like she cared at all for us and made us fill out an application even though she knew the dog was on hold.Shocked and confused we left without asking any questions because we were so sad. Later in the day we decided to call and get some explanation because no one explained anything to us while we were there about why everything happened the way it did. The woman on the phone explained to us that she did not know why the other lady did not tell us anything and she tried to explain the process to us but answered all of our questions with “I don’t know”This was our first time at animal house and we absolutely loved it at the beginning, but I’m not sure we will be going back. We had great experiences with the volunteers here and they made us love the dog even more than we already did. We really just needed some explanation and were so upset when we found out someone had put this dog on hold as we were looking and playing with her. The process just seems extremely unfair, and no one could explain to us why it all happened. They also had no sympathy to us which is something you need when you are dealing with peoples future pets. Once again, just feel like their process is extremely unfair and doesn’t make any sense.UPDATE: we just found out it was a STAFF MEMBER who ripped the dog out of our hands and put her on hold while we were outside with her. Clearly this place hires terrible staff who do not care about their customers. Although this place takes great care of their dogs, this is a horrible business. Do not go here!

Adopted Jasper a few months ago and he’s awesome!! A very energetic puppy, 7 months old now but we love him!

This is such a wonderful place. It was just the place I was looking to donate to when my dog passed. They had such a clean location and even answered the phone and all of my questions before I showed up.When I am ready for another pet I will be coming here. They have an area where you can meet and greet your prospective pet. The foster program is also a wonderful resource for seeing what family life would be like. I hope you take the time to look in their binder and Facebook page for available animals.

Besides being a rescue, they offer a whole bunch of grooming sevices. I take my dogs there to get their nails done. Everyone is always really friendly, and quick to get you in and out!

The entire process from start to finish of finding our loving furry companion was great. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. I couldn’t ask for more.

Groomers are top notch. Willing to work with our 4 month old westie who had never had a haircut and is not comfortable with any part of grooming yet. Highly recommend their services.

I donate to this place as much as I can and I’m glad I do. This is a wonderfully clean, friendly, huge place where you can come and feel confident that you’re going to go home with a clean happy pet. I have gone here for years to get my dogs nails trimmed. It is close to me and when the groomer is in (call ahead to make sure before going over), they take my dogs right then and trim the nails and it only takes a few minutes. The cost is more than reasonable too (as of Sept. 2017): only $9/dog for a nail trim. I have gotten my dogs fully groomed here too in the past and love their work and the price.

Have donated food to them and met countless families that have adopted their new family members from here, theyre always happy. Highly recommend!

We love bring your dogs here for grooming. Not only do they do a great job but it supports a great cause. Since theyve moved its a little more out of the way but we still take the time to go here because were so pleased with the work they do.

Their card machine was down and I didnt have cash so they cut my beagles nails for free! They are the sweetest people ever!!!

I called ahead and discussed with Corri the issues of my newly adopted rabbit and told her I was concerned because mats had taken over due to not receiving proper grooming. She advised me to come in so that’s exactly what we did. She sat out the floor with her to keep her calm and got rid of all of her mats and even did her nails too. Thank you so much!

So, so wonderful. I went to adopt and the online pre-approval made things so fast and easy. The dogs seemed so cared for and their individual needs were being met. The meeting room was lovely. I met my little Tigger and fell in love! They were all so supportive, but still made sure I was the right fit for him, and he for me.

I adopted my dog from here, they do a great job! You can tell that it is a well managed facility and they do everything possible to make sure that their dogs are adopted out to responsible homes. This is a non for profit that I will always support and probably the only shelter in the area I would adopt from.

We have gotten our dog groomed at the Animal House for years! The service is great, the folks who work here just adore animals, and our dog always comes home looking fresh.

They deserve 0 stars. I went in looking to adopt a dog. I found one that I wanted to adopt so they let me go outside to walk around with her. I loved her and I was planning to take her home that day. They had me fill out an adoption sheet and everything and waited until I was done to tell me that they allowed someone to call and put the dog on hold while I was outside with her. I called back many times to get an explanation and they finally told me that it was actually a staff member that put the dog on hold. the staff member just wanted the dog to not get adopted so they could take her themself! It doesnt seem right that they would allow that to happen especially since I made it clear that I really wanted her. Girlfriend was crying. They didnt care. You can come in a find a different dog some other time. Bad experience. This review is for the front desk, the volunteers were very nice

We adopted our hound mix about 6.5 years ago. I visited a few different times. Each time, I specified that we were looking for a medium-sized, young adult with moderate exercise needs. Each time, we were referred to a small number of dogs, including our darling. After a few walks, we agreed - he was a great fit! We are still so grateful to call him family.

I am so happy with my new dog from Animal House Rescue! Huey completely stole my heart and came home with me yesterday. He has checked out his new home thoroughly and is a total love. Hes picked his favorite places and charmed a few friends already. I cant imagine how anyone was able to give up this doll!

My wife and I are foster parents for their doggos, customers at the groomers, and have adopted from Animal House. They do a fantastic job placing animals and generally know a lot about each animals temperament and health due to their extensive foster care network. Theyve done a fantastic job grooming our two dogs and cat, and Ill always support Animal House!

Wonderful rescue with a huge variety of dogs. They have some on site like a traditional shelter and some in foster which is a good system. Ive volunteered off and on with them for years and just adopted a dog as well.

Ive been searching for a dog for a long time and was getting frustrated with how many shelters and adoption agencies were never getting back to me. Animal house was great though, they contacted me right away and actually contacted my refrences too. They were very friendly and extremely helpful in adopting our new puppy. I really had a great adoption experience with them.

We had a great experience adopting here. They went above and beyond to get my daughter and I the dog we fell in love with. Their facility is clean and the dogs look very well cared for.

The lady at the front desk is so rude! Someone else was visiting with a dog and we asked to visit with a dog as well but they only have one visiting area, which is fine, we could’ve waited our turn. But, the rudest lady I’ve ever met at the front desk made it clear the room was being used, didn’t even offer to just wait until the other family was done, just rudely stated they are busy and stared at me. Obviously she doesn’t care if the dogs are adopted or she’d be nicer. I was so irritated with her I left. She knew I wasn’t happy with her and literally glared at me the entire time I walked to my car through their glass front window. So, I went to the humane society..... they were VERY nice! It’s sad that miss rude pants is affecting the dogs being adopted..... I’ll never go there again.

Nothing but rude associates & a very discriminative team. Would not let me meet & greet an older dog, while everyone else was able to & they did nothing but talk very bad about their dogs so you won’t adopt them. Like I said, very rude associates and I will never come back to this “adoption house” seems to me you all are nothing but selfish money hungry people that don’t care about having their animals adopted.

We just adopted a dog from Animal House. This shelter truly cares about the animals that it seeks to place in good homes. I appreciate that they require references and that they do so much to support the people adopting animals from them. They truly deserve support, so if youre looking to adopt a pet, please consider Animal House!

These guys do a great service to the community. We just got our dog there (Alena) after our two dogs died at age 15. We were very impressed with the service and the care they have for their dogs. Thanks to everyone there!

The ladies here are absolutely wonderful!!! They always do a great job on my kiddos nails&my furbabies actually like them! Where the building is located has beautiful scenery &a large area where u can walk ur kids around should u halfta wait a few mins for ur turn.They are also amazing for the work they do around the community&raising money for furkids in need! I have a kiddo we adopted from there 11yrs ago&its been 1 of the best decisions&choices of my life! They have a variety to choose from,they are excellent at screening each kiddo for not only behavior issues but for medical problems as well. I highly recommend them whether ur looking for grooming services that dont break the bank,or a new fur friend to join you in life! We will continue to go here as long as they are around!!!

I used to love this place went here with A friend and her mom and Loved this place now that my family tried to adopt a small puppy from here for me.Well the foster mom of the dog said she was only going to see how well the two dogs did with our bigger dog she actually went outside and looked and said our garage was really messy and that we need to clean our dog poop every day and that we needed to do this and that and personally I think that she just wanted to keep the one dog that me and my family really wanted winter all to herself and that snowflake was the one that she wants to be adopted.
