Terry is not a good attorney at all. Very unorganized and unprofessional and his only interest is how much he can bill you. His office manager (his wife) is rude, money hungry, untrustworthy, a liar and thinks she’s a lawyer when she gives legal advice. Terry would be better served if he was the greeter at the local Walmart. To sit in the office and listen to his wife they are millionaires and live like kings. She can’t stop talking about the “lake house” that ended up being a trailer parked on a manmade lake in Durand Mi. It’s a far cry from a “lake house”. The cold hard facts are they will say or do whatever is necessary to get money from you or make money off you. You have so many other choices for attorneys in the area but Terry Bankert should be towards the bottom of your list. If you think he’s going to fight for you or have your back then your going to get a wake up call if you hire him. Let me be clear, the lack of him doing his job won’t reflect on his billing. I truly believe his wife sits around and tries to figure out what she can add to the clients invoices before she goes home for the day.

Terrible experience ended up doing court on my phone in person with this man because he didnt know what building to go to then he found out that it was a zoom meeting (after I already took off from work) then he couldnt even figure out how to sign into his own computer. I found out most of my information through the aposing party. Knew financial situation support was issued for an amount I couldnt afford, literally bumped my elbow saying thats a good deal, take that agree to it. When I asked what I could do to get it lowered or what my options his paralegal just simple said PAY YOUR CHILD SUPPORT Then (keep in mind whole process took 8 months) he demanded that I pay in full the entire balance 2 weeks before court. Not once did I receive any bills to pay durring process they blame Covid. Never went over case, never checked in to see what I wanted. Totally got screwed over. Oh and when I tried to represent myself and attend the court case on my own he intentionally gave me the wrong time so now I still have yet to know what happened. Seems like an okay person but wouldnt recommend using him as attorney. If I get suied over this review whatever, attorney shouldnt be get away with shady practices.

He did my divorce in 2004. I needed assistance with my child visitation and went with someone else that did a song and dance thought they were going to be so good. I was totally wrong! I ended up going back to Terry in 2018. After years of fighting for my son not to go to his dads per my sons request. I never should of strayed! Do your research who is best for your situtation. He is awesome and so is his staff!!!! I highly recommend him and his team!!! Thank you for caring and fighting for my son! He is also respected by judges and attorneys. Years of experience with class!

Terrys representation in trial was so pathetic that I have no choice but to conclude he either is so grossly incompetent that its incredible he graduated law school, or he put in such a lack of effort that his moral character is nonexistent. His Job was to VIGOROUSLY fight for me. The trial we had lasted less than 5 minutes and he only asked two questions while cross examining. If you want to hire terry and you think its going to take a trial, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I used Mr Bankert for my divorce, himself and staff are very professional, very friendly, and easy to talk too!I would highly recommend them!

The best money I ever spent. He and his staff were awesome to work with. Although divorce or custody isnt an ideal situation, they fight to get you through. Fair price and excellent results.

Worst decision I ever made. Never talked to the attorney himself except when I retained .Only to office lady, who would give legal advice.We settled and didn’t go to trial but was still charged for it and tried to sue me afterwards for 1100.00 he judge wasn’t having that, I payed 400 just to get out of there. They charge for even phone calls to the office . My cousin used him as well and has an even worse experience.

Me and my 20 yr boyfriend splitting up. More complicated because he has anxiety and mental issues. Wanted an atty to give me my options. He didnt bother to listen to the needs of my family, in fact stated Im not listening to 15 min stories . GO ELSEWHERE, HE DOES NOT CARE!!!!!

Mr Bankert and his staff went above and beyond in representing our case. He was happy to return any calls we made to his office. There were times we called on the weekend and left a message, not expecting to hear back until normal business hours. This wasnt the case, Mr Bankert or staff member always returned calls immediately. His prices are very reasonable and he is quite knowledgeable with various laws. Thank you all for representing and winning our difficult case.

By far the worst legal representation you could find. When it came time to go to court he appeared to drag his feet and didnt fight for the things that were discussed beforehand and then charged us for the case being dragged out as well as a hidden fee under the guise of a monthly service fee(even though the services have all been ended) because we were unable to pay our balance at the time. If you are looking for the right lawyer, keep looking!

Mr.bankert and his staff are phenomenal, I truly wish he would have been my representative from the start . He went above any call of duty to help me when all hope seemed lost . I can never say thank you enough .

I would like to first add that i went with Terry Bankert because his retainer was not as expensive as other lawyers in Genesee county.That was a horrible idea. It clearly was a reason for that u get what you pay for.Terry Bankert is absolutely the worst lawyer in flint.I would not recommend that he represent your pet turtle if you have one. He never knew what was going on with my case or what i had retained him for or the correct laws for that matter. His staff is very unprofessional mainly his wife. And they continued to ask for more and more money after not doing anything . I dont know if they are in financial troubles or what.I had to retain another lawyer to actually represent me.Too bad i have to give one star because this firm is definitely not worth one star. I am not a mad citizen writing a review because my case was not won. I am truly writing this review in hopes to save another person from going through what my family and i endured mentally and finacially from Mr. Bankert.

Thank you for best the best service provides for an ugly divorce . Mr Bankert treats you more like family then business and the prices were affordable for a single mom with two kids starting over . I would recommend him to others along with if I never needs his service again I will keep his law office in mind .
