Very compassionate. The Vet we used after our cat passed failed in communicating to the crematory that we were in a time restraint since we are not from the area and were to be leaving town. When we called and explained this to them they offered to stay an hour after closing on a Friday so we could pick up our cat. It is greatly appreciated.

We used Ponderosa Pet Crematory when our little girl passed away after 17 years of life. We chose the “Private / Witnessed Cremation” which we found very therapeutic. We were just heartbroken, and Russ was really great, he spoke to us at length about the death of our pet, he also brought her remains out to us so we could see her again and spend some time with her alone. We feel we gained a sense of closure, and we both felt our grief begin to heal. We now have her ashes here at home, and can continue the healing process. Communication was ideal, we both felt very comfortable throughout the entire process. Thank you Russ!

Recently I lost a dog and the vet that had to put her down contracts out Ponderosa Pet Crematory. A week went by since we lost our dog and we never heard anything back nor did we receive any type of timeline. After a week went by we called to find out what the timeline looked like, they said that they would have her back to us in a day or two. Well a day or two goes by and still nothing. After calling them back they said that they were going to drop off the remains at the vet and would call or text when they did so. Well once again no communication. Finally I called the vet and they said yes the remains had been dropped off. We go to pick the up the remains and I asked how should I pay. They vet said you have to call them. I told the vet I called them three times and they never mentioned anything. So I have to call them again? To top it all of they mis-spelled my dogs name on the death certificate. I since have tried to call the owner three times and he only responds in text messages. In some of the messages he admitted to spelling my dogs name wrong, then got snarky because I called him out on it. I wish I could upload the screen shots of the conversation. My only hope now is that no one encounters this type of service especially in this situation.

Russell is awesome! Highly recommend cremation. The ashes remain so that loved ones can hold on to part of the beloved that is gone or take them on adventures and scatter the ashes.

As much as I wish I hadnt had to use this particular company (because obviously Id have preferred my little dog, Benji, live forever) I am glad I did. I had Benji for almost 7 years and he was a fantastic companion who helped me cope with and get through some of the darkest times in my life, and when he died I was absolutely devastated. But Im very glad that having him cremated was an option. When I took him into Ponderosa, Russell was very sympathetic and understanding, and I could tell he is an animal lover himself. I knew that my little Benji was in very good hands. I got his ashes back today in a lovely little urn and as sad as it was, it felt like closure. All in all, if youre looking to have a pet cremated, I highly recommend Ponderosa. And if you have to use their services, I am very sorry for your loss.

I never thought Id want to write a review on a pet cremation service, but this experience warrants it.The first morning after arriving in Flagstaff at an RV park we awoke to discover our 120 pound New Foundland had died during the night; totally unexpectred. We called a local veterinarian to ask what to do and they told us about the local pet cremation place called Ponderosa. Mr.Russell Mann answered the phone, and within 45 minutes was at our RV with his beautiful mortuary style car to pick up Blackie. They offer a rush cremation service for an extra fee which was helpful since we were leaving to the Grand Canyon in 2 days. In 24 hours we had Blackies ashes with us in an urn. I cannot begin to describe how kind, gentle and professional Mr. Mann and Ponderosa Pet Crematory were to us. I know in Columbia Kentucky where we are from that there is no such service. Flagstaff is a blessed city to have this pet cremation service. i cant imagine leaving town with our dog in some veterinarians freezer. Thank you Mr. mann and your wonderful business, you made our vacation smooth in spite of this big inconvenience. We were blessed.
