I am leasing a Xerox 8870 printer. The printer is a mixed bag, but this is not my review of the printer. This is my review of Xerographics of Flagstaff. My biggest gripe is not that they leased me a machine that turned out to be prone to malfunctions and break-downs, my biggest gripe is the inability of Xerographics to fix or replace my leased machine in a timely manner. Over the first couple years of my lease, I have had various repair technicians sent out to fix my machine. Typically they have to visit several times over a period of days or even weeks trying to fix my machine. Several times they have been unable to fix my machine and the machine has been replaced. The replacement process typically takes several weeks. A detailed chronology of the misadventures of these repair technicians would fill pages and pages. One tech orders a needed part. Another tech shows up without the part. Tech orders a part. Wrong part is sent. Tech accidentally makes matters worse by breaking a working part of the machine. Tech shows up without a service manual and I have to help him download the manual from the Web. Tech does not have a certain screwdriver needed to fix the machine and has to go to the hardware store to buy one. Tech shows up in the morning, stays for nearly eight hours trying to fix the machine. Maybe the problem is really with Xerox at the national level. Or maybe the problem is really with Compucom, the company that Xerographics has started using to make repairs. I dont know. All I know is that I would never lease another printer from Xerographics of Flagstaff.
