If you dont pay extra attention, you might miss the turn. If you dont pay extra attention again, youll understand nothing about this place, even if you are walking and looking around. So, sign in at the entrance, take a paper brochure, see there are paragraphs with numbers, and find little posts with coordinate numbers, things might make more sense. It is a free place, so nothing to complain about, guess they try their best to make things work on a budget.A bit disappointed, to be honest.
Amazing, self guided archaeological site located at the side of the highway. Theres a downloadable guide from the National Park Services. Highly recommend this off the beaten path site for the wonderful look back on the early inhabitants of the area. The little entry way is super hard to spot, we ended up going right past it and having to turn around in the Subway parking lot down the road.
Great site! There was a archeologist on site with pieces of clay pottery that were found, as well as a site to try out the primitive weapons with a range manager to help everyone with the weapons and keep it very safe. Great stop!
Suprisingly very good place to see an ancient pueblo..right off the road. The park rangers were very helpful too. A must gp if you like pueblo ruins.
This site is on the eastern side of Flagstaff. Take an hour to stop and go through as it is an easy walking path. Its hard to believe that water was an issue in this area. Read the information to see how they farmed and survived. It looks like there is continuing archeology work being done here. I have started watching for birds and have found several new ones here. There are no restrooms. It is a gravel path, i believe with help, a wheelchair could make it through this path.
This was a free, self guided, easily accessible your - unpaved and flat. Make sure to sign the guest book and pick up a brochure; this [brochure] will describe the rock formations you are looking at and other Eldon lifestyles
The QR code doesnt work. The url didnt take you to the information explaining to the numbered stops posted at the site. Very disappointing. Fix this guys.
They only tell you about Walnut Canyon, Wupatki and Sunset Crater. Well, this small site is inbetween the crater and the canyon. Its pretty cool and worth checking out.
Im glad this area is being preserved. It could have easily been paved over by the highway that runs right next to it.
A great place to visit.
Publications on site that explained the various rooms
Convenient trails to.walk 3 dogs
Lots of interesting facts and sights
Im glad this place has been preserved.
Loved the buildings that were used long ago
Very informative, kids loved it,
This cool place is in the city limits of Flag and definately worth the stop. Well put together self guided tour is very cool. Bring a lunch and enjoy it.
Love this place! I went to Flagstaff to visit you sister last winter and we went here. So interesting! Eldon Mountain is fascinating!
Great place to visit short walk very educational the wife and I loved it
Very interesting to see how the pueblo lived back then.
Free admittance. Historical spot. I truly love places with a lot of history.
Short walk through working archeological dig. Download the online walking tour guide.
Easy to find, lovely path around the ruins, printed guides at the entrance, benches if you want to sit and admire the site.
Nice lil side trip to check out some Arizona history on the outskirts of Flagstaff. Don’t blink, when you drive by, you might miss it
Would have been a 5 if more information was posted about the site. Very cool to look at.
A lot of great things to see to see where tribes lived and in such a beautiful area. Pottery, chirp and structural remaining is protected please leave it as it is. There is a nice hike nearby aswell
Nice place to stop along the way and have a leg stretch and a short lovely little walk.
Loved this place. Hidden little gem!
Really neat. Self guided tour, but I think you have to pay for the map. I didnt see anyone that worked there & I was there on a Friday afternoon. We just walked around all the rooms & made up our own stories. Right next to road so the sound of traffic is pretty distracting but its cool to think they used that road to travel too, before it was paved and taken over by automobile.
Good history. Very informative with literature to follow. Nice short walk and accessible in a wheelchair as well. Intrigues your imagination in how things were back then.
To bad the place is not being kept up
Really interesting
It’s amazing to think how these Native Americans survived when you think of all our amenities we have now. Great location.
Went here 9 years ago after early morning visit to Howell Observatory. Was very peaceful and interesting. Lots of nature and archaeology. Remember bit confusing finding parking.
Was a fun experience! I will definitely go back again. My granddaughter loved it!!
Perfect for a self tour, educational pamphlets are at the front of the trail. No bathrooms though but its a short trail. It is an active archeological site. It is in an open area of Coconino National Forest so you might run across a few critters. Easy access from RT 66 on US 89. Loved reading and seeing Hopi history!
Nice little mini hike. Saw and learned alot. It even has little pamphlets that tell you history about the site.
Interesting place to learn where people lived long ago. They had self guided tour.
Brochure gives information on the ruins. Its a short easy walk around the ruins
For 40 years I have watched the exploration and stabilization of this wonderful place. A font of education about the people who lived here before us. People who witnessed Sunset Crater eruptions.
Very informative and love ancient history as well as prehistoric the place I saw was very cool and buildings build by ancient Pueblo people do go visit it if your visiting Flagstaff
Very interesting place, very descriptive information, great for history junkies and explorers
Interesting but not exciting. The stones are obviously recreated. Still was worth a breaf stop along the way to Grand Canyon.
Really cool to see the history around town - there are also tons of trails behind this parking spot and they go all the way to fat mans loop
Great detail of the pueblos
Great example of a Pueblo and easy to get to and to walk around. We saw the sign for this site and turned around to find it.
Not a lot to it, by National Park standards, but for a small local historical site the signage provides ample information to see how our ancestors lived in this area centuries ago.
Awesome place to look at an ancient structure.
Has little map that walks you thru the site along with info on each site! Very cool!
Good place to unwind, and get a little fresh air.
Nice to have this in our town, but it wasnt for me a wow effect.
Cheap interesting fun! Loved leaning a little more about petroglyphs
Beautiful short hike just off the highway. Cool ruins.
Always friendly & clean, great service!!👍
Well maintained Pueblo ruins by BLM. Accessed on Route 89A in Flagstaff. Open to public but no visitor center.
Great place to visit. Lots to see.
Interesting easy to get to and hike around
Nice trail around the ruins in quiet area
A place of Zin and Peace...
Didnt hate great sote
Great experience! Try it out.
Great place to explore, preservation of history 🇺🇸
Short walk with informative pamphlet.
An interesting quick stop just off the 89.
Interesting place
American history often forgets to include indigenous peoples histories - take a moment to go here, its free, just to soak in a piece of American history not associated to European expansionism.
Great place for family walk
What a peaceful walk a educational experience as well
Truly a hidden gem in Flagstaff!
Nice place, but little information about the site.
Interesting but not spectacular
Pretty
Restoration still in progress.
Amazing. We loved it.
Love the place.
