We called Star on a very warm weekend when our air conditioner went out. Unfortunately, our coils had frozen, Matt was great and gave us instructions on what to do to get them thawed as quickly as possible and came out the next day. It ended up that we had a leak somewhere in our 19 year old system. Matt gave us great advice on what he thought we should and shouldnt do. We really appreciated the fact he didnt try to sell us services that were pretty useless on a very old system. We ended up doing a quick bandaid fix to get us through, and decided to purchase an entire HVAC system with Star. Brian was super helpful in giving us all the info on the different systems and worked with us to pick the right one for us. Matt was the one who installed it for us and he answered all of our questions and was super informative. We will definitely be using Star for our maintenance on our new system and any other needs we might have in the future. Thanks to everyone at Star!

We were extremely pleased with our service from Star Heating and Cooling LLC. We were in need of a whole new system, as well as wanting to move our AC unit location, and they handled every step of it. This highly trained, friendly, professional staff was such a pleasure to work with. Bryan Conway was our salesman and he was nice, knowledgable and super easy to work with. He gave us several options, happily answered all questions we had, and didnt pressure us to spend more money than we were comfortable with. Sarah Wallace made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. She coordinated getting an electrician add electric in the new AC location, made sure our house was cool when our AC unexpectedly stopped working, before the new one was installed, was alway quick to respond and communicate with us. Donovan came out and was able to get our old AC up and running, during the 90 degree week we were having, while we waited for our install to take place. Matt and Mark spent the day at our house installing both the new AC unit and new furnace. They were both so nice. Every single person we encountered was so friendly and professional. I had used this company for s number of years. I was just talking to one of the owners who was on the attack for an invoice I never received but was told they email it.I did not receive the billing.email is not always reliable.I basically was explaining to her when she rudely hung up on me. I called back but her attitude did not change and she hung up on me again after I said the charges she Had.listed for a 10min..stop were outrageous and.I would contest them.This owner is not anyone you would want to do business with.if you expect to be treated with any kind of respect.

I had a problem with an attic space HVAC unit. It was not the most comfortable or cool space to be located in just to access the unit. I have some background with HVAC systems and had already completed some disassembly, diagnosis, and cleaning so that I didnt call for service on something such as a dirty condensor or coil. When I couldnt fix it, I contacted STAR Heating and Cooling first thing in the morning and they were able to send a technician out in the same day. The technician, Donovan, was very knowledgeable and completed a very thorough visual and electrical diagnosis of the entire system and control board. He pinpointed the problem to the attic unit and completed the repair. I appreciated that they sent a very experienced technician to my house..

I had an issue with my furnace on a Friday night in January. I called Stars on call emergency hotline and was called back immediately by Ryan. He gave me a few things to check to see if they would fix the problem so that he wouldnt have to charge me for an easy fix, which I greatly appreciated.Those things did not work, so he came out immediately. He spent a few hours thoroughly examining all the components of the furnace and identifying a few potential issues.The problem was fixed and Ryan was professional, nice, and you can tell hes passionate about helping people and solving problems.When he gave me the bill I couldnt believe how inexpensive it was for the amount of time and effort Ryan put in.Very impressed with this company and would recommend them to anyone!***Follow up:About a year later we needed a total HVAC replacement. I reached out to 3 companies for quotes. Star was the most affordable, professional, and explanatory as they walked me through the process of what was going to happen.They gave me 4 options for replacements and when they were out of the option I selected, they upgraded me for free!Not only that, but we finalized the purchase around 4 pm on a Monday and they were there the next morning to replace the furnace/AC. Our AC went out over the 4th of July holiday weekend. Star promptly called back and sent a tech, Ryan, to our home within an hour, which was at 10pm on a Sunday. Another local company never returned our call. Ryan was very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, our 16 year old unit was not repairable. Bryan came out the next morning and gave us AC unit options. He was not pushy and did not try to up-sell us on a non necessary unit or push to replace the furnace at the same time (which works fine). Installers came the next morning. Our service call fee was applied to the price of our unit. We were very pleased with what we ended up paying. It was quick and easy on our end. The installers were quick & efficient. We have already recommended them to two other friends who had the unfortunate experience of having their AC go out within the last few days and they are using Star as well.

Ive been using Star for several years and would recommend them to anyone. I first met the owner, Sarah, when I was working for a company that had Star as a client, and so I tried them out when I needed some routine maintenance done on my homes HVAC. They did a great job, were very honest with me, and did not use any pressure sales tactics or any of that other nonsense.Eventually, the AC system at my house went out and I had to purchase a new one. The technician was very honest with me about my options and, while he did recommend a new system, his reasoning was sound and he wasnt pushy. I went with the new system and they set me up with 24-months of 0% financing instead of the standard 12, which I appreciated as well.Im now sitting here in my comfortably cool house while the 90+ degree afternoon burns outside, so I am highly satisfied with Star. 10/10, would recommend.

The technician left my outside water spigot on after a service call. I realized it nearly 8 hrs later. They promised to pay the difference in my water bill and for the soaker hose that burst from being under pressure for too long. They ignored my emails with damage photos, ignored voicemails and when I finally spoke to someone they said they did receive my emails with photos and expenses and said a check would cut and mailed last Friday. Never received it.I have given them so much time to make good on their mistakes and damage before I posted a negative review but all they have done is ignored and lied to me.

I manage an AT&T store in Fishers, IN. We were having trouble with our air conditioning earlier this summer and I called Star Heating and Cooling. They were one of the only companies who were actively taking on commercial clients. Within a day, they had our air conditioning back up and running.

I first became a customer of Star several years ago when Mike Wallace diagnosed a bad capacitor ($50) after Airtron wanted me to replace my ENTIRE heating/cooling system. Ive since had Star replace my worn out heat pump and install a new air handler with great service at competitive costs. But today solidified me as a Star customer for life. With temps heating up, I turned on my AC this week - it ran well for an hour or so then began to send HEAT through the registers. I thought it was the thermostat, so I replaced the thermostat myself, only to have the AC act the same. Cooled for awhile, then heat. I called Star, and their technician, Mark, provided the absolute best service experience Ive ever had from ANY vendor. He worked diligently to diagnose the problem but didnt initially identify any issues as the AC seemed to work fine. He asked that I call the shop if the problem returned. It did return a couple hours later, but so did Mark, who had earlier speculated it was a defrost board in the heat pump. On his return visit he swiftly replaced the defrost board and promised a courtesy call the following business day. I cannot recommend this business more highly to anyone in the Indy area! Great service, Mark!

From the bidding through the installation, Star was very professional and did a great job. We had a small issue with the ultraviolet light installed. They resolved the issue immediately and professionally!

I have a 10+ years old A/C unit that needs to be replaced. Brian came out and gave me an honest opinion about what product I should buy, because I will not be in the house very long. Unfortunately, my dog was injured the day before I was going to call and get my appointment setup. I was not pressured into buying anything after that, and I was sent a hand written note telling me that they wished my dog well (she is doing good now).Since I could no longer afford a new A/C unit, I decided that I should have the unit serviced. My unit was cleaned and serviced quickly, and there was never a discussion about purchasing a new A/C unit.I cannot recommend this company enough, because they listen to your needs. They do not try to pressure you into buying anything, and I will be purchasing my A/C unit through them next summer.

My air conditioner stopped working and I called Star for Service around 9am. They gave me a very reasonable time frame for the appointment (12 -3 the same day). The office called me back to let me know the technician was at another job that was taking a little longer but I was next on the list. The office called me back a 2nd time to let me know the technician would be there within 30 minutes and he was. Great Communication! When Otis arrived he was very nice and got right to work. He figured out the problem within 10-15 minutes! He had to run back to the shop for the correct part but this was quick. The air conditioner was up and running! The diagnostic and material fee was very reasonable. I will be using Star in the future for my heating and cooling needs. 5 Stars!

I did plenty of research and received multiple quotes before replacing our HVAC system. While many of the sales staff were exceptional in their delivery of information, Bryan took the most time with me to lay out multiple options and to provide pertinent information re: each option. Their pricing for the system we received was better than the other quotes we had received and the install team was efficient and professional, taking great care to keep our home clean as they came in and out of the house. I was also immediately impressed with the office staff; they were prompt in setting up my appointment, flexible with my need to reschedule, and very clear on what their role would be moving forward after the install. I am currently in the process of working with them to receive all my eligible rebates, but I have full confidence that this will be done with equal care and punctuality. I purchased a new heat pump from them 3 years ago. The guy who sold it to us was a nice gentleman. However, it began to have issues recently. Called for service. The cost of replacing fusible link is $80 and trip charge is $90. Then they charged $340 for replacing a $65 thermostat. It seems to be way overpriced.

Sarah worked hard with us to diagnose our intermittent heating problem prior to the service call. She stayed in constant contact with us to set a time for the service call. Her brother, the tech, was patient and informative as I tried to learn more about the heater. The service call was reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Star is always considerate of your time and are careful with your home. Love the email reminders to set an appointment for regular maintenance with our maintenance agreement. Also the knowledgable, friendly staff is always willing to answer questions and are not trying to sell you anything every time they come to your home.

My 4 1/2 year old system was not putting out cold air to begin the summer. I called Star because they are only a couple blocks away and I thought, who else you gonna trust but a neighbor. Well they came out and before they even tested the unit they told me the capacitor was bad. ($109). Then he told me how honest he was (red flag). Then he told me it needed a hard start kit ($150ish). Then they told me it was the compressor. Then the owners son showed up. He acted like he was doing me a favor for being there. He agreed that the compressor was bad, then it wasn’t, then it was. So, I asked them to return the unit to the way they found it, replace my “bad capacitor” and all. I paid them for the service call and cleaning. Then they sent me a quote to replace the capacitor. Labor only as it was under warranty. $1489. Well I had another guy come out and he was like, there’s a block in the coolant lines and how did they not discovered that? $275 and 1 1/2 hours later it was fixed.

We bought our present house in 2007 but it was built I think inn1980 or so. By 2010, our entire furnace including ducts was completely shot. I called several HVAC companies to come out and make a bid. Except for Mike Wallace at Star, they were all salesmen; nobody looked at the furnace or the ducts--except for Mike. He got under the house, looked around and came back with a detailed list of what needed to be done. Impressed is not a strong enough word to describe our reaction. We hired him and have been using him and his company ever since. Our son had fairly complicated system at his house which needed to be replaced recently and he hired him. We are happy ; our son is happy, so I recommend this company highly.

Michael, the owner, was nothing less than professional. He was so helpful when we needed a new furnace installed. We were selling our home and he was such a great help and explained the entire process to me and my wife. Truly a great guy and great service. Despicable. This company replaced he capacitor on my air conditioner 6 years ago. Two days ago when it went out, I called somebody else. As it turns out, Star Heating had installed the wrong capacitor and it is still installed incorrectly to this day. I called to talk to Sarah and she had no sympathy, said she couldnt guarantee that somebody else hadnt changed it, said take her to court, and hung up on me. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and then taking them to small claims court. Avoid.EDIT: And I have it on tape.

I was charged $90 for a diagnostic of the problem I was having with my Trane furnace. The tech only turned my furnace on and listened. That is it! No testing equipment used. Nothing taken apart. What a rip off!
