The best place for training, play sport, exercise and another activities.
Awesome place for University students to work out, play tons of sports, and more.
We went rock climbing. From what I saw this place has all your physical activities equipment/supplies. We had a blast!
The atmosphere is great! The student employees are helpful and the equipment is constantly being cared for and updated. I love the sauna located in the locker room. Its a great way to wind down after a workout.
Participated in Razorback Invitational and went for a fun night with my 8th grade. Wonderful courts, rock climbing walls and bike rentals.
Weight room too small (i.e. only 2 free weight bench presses); Pool too small (8 lanes for both the swim team and ~20,000 students), bouldering wall nice but way too small (made for only 4 people max), indoor track only 3 lanes, only 3 basketball courts made in the 50s, racquetball courts are sufficient, hours not beneficial to students or other patrons, staff is usually nice (they know it sucks too), basically everything is way too small and old for the number of students at a large university. Oh, and the building is ugly.
Really outdated, new bandage remodels are a big step up but doesnt compare to any other SEC school. Hopefully future students can get a change since student rec quality goes hand in hand with student success and happiness
Weight room is way too small for the demand. Closes all of the time. Employees treated above customers. Good other than those things.Edit: They renovated the entire weight room and it is much better now. However, they havent fixed the shortage problem. They probably wont since it is treated as a free good.***Charge members based on the time that they use the gym (usage fees for peak periods) and the problem will be eliminated overnight. Plus, revenues generated from this could be used to expand the facility and buy new equipment. Easy fix!!! Test it out for a few weeks!
Great place for all sorts of activities. Full gym including free weights, various equipment and lots of cardio equipment.Basketball courts, climbing walls, swimming pools, racquetball courts, various classes offered.Clean, friendly and overall a great experience every time.
When I lived in Fayetteville, my wife and I had a membership here. The pool was the highlight but everything was clean and really a great gym to be a part of. I highly recommend it.
For an SEC school its pretty small. They need to expand or just make better use of the land and building
This is a great gym that I have really enjoyed as an undergrad and still enjoy as an alumni. It has so many things to do if the typical weight room or cardio machines are not what youre looking for. The weight room is great and expansive so many of your needs and the dumbbells go high enough to where I doubt there is need for most people to do higher. Machines are well-maintained and the staff are friendly. The only bad thing I would say is they dont allow deadlifts outside of the squat racks and they dont like it when you drop weight, even if the amount you do is high weight. Regardless, the facilities are great. You can swim, play basketball, racketball/squash, indoor track run, climbing wall, and sauna. Its pretty great. For the price and facility itself, you cant beat this.
Nice facilities!
Have been a member for 6 months and enjoy the facilities very much. Great staff, equipment, and clean facility!
Everything you need at a great price, U of A supporting their local community.
Way too small of a gym for how many people go there. Practically cant workout from 4-9pm everyday because its so busy.
Not my favorite. The seating area in the pool is not comfortable.
Door can be frustrating at times. Depends who is working and situation.Staff is mostly courteous otherwise.
The staff here was nice and the facility was clean. There were several seperate gyms and racquet ball courts.
Can be expensive for non students but the equipment, classes, and courts are next to none around here.
That one of best places i visited but check the schedule
Super fun place to workout with lots of options .
Its great to hv such a nice gym.
Im a law student at UArk and the HPER allows all sorts of Arkansas individuals like students, faculty, grad students, grad assistants, athletes, alumni, and guests. Their machines are the newest technology and are very well kept and clean. There are flat screen tvs everywhere you turn which makes working out on a Saturday much easier with all the college football games on. Plus you have access to the Natatorium used by the Arkansas Swimming and Dive team, their locker rooms include a sizable sauna that is accessible to HPER guests. While the HPER is considerably smaller than most University fitness centers, like Kansas State Universitys Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex or Oklahoma State Universitys Colvin Recreation Center, its still a nice facility with everything you need for a good workout.
The pool is FANTASTIC. The parking can be difficult on weekends
Poorly run, mess up orders often, act as if they are inconvenienced. Equipment isn’t properly taken care of and the courts are improperly maintained. Place is a joke.
Frequently dirty, staff isnt always friendly, but the overall facility is a 4/5.The sauna for the men is normally broken, but who knows, you might get lucky when you go.
The best in recreation services and cooperation
Theres 3 squat racks for the entire school. Needs a bigger gym. Terribly crowded
Students are forced to pay for a membership, but its too expensive for non-students and the gym is way too small. Typically the HPER is crowded.
This is the best place to go and workout!!!!
Nice and Well Facilities
Way too small for the demand and they overcharge
Great place.
Great experience
