I had a bad experience once before renting a stump grinder. This I was in a bind and couldnt get someone to grind it. Had a shed coming in a day or two. I first started with an ax and decided to try Home Depot rentals stump grinder. It was extremely dull. The stump was only around 8 inches round. I used the stump grinder for about 2 hours with little progress. Went back to using my ax. So disappointing. Ive used Home Depot for other equipment with success. I will not recommend HD

Rented a small excavator. It was absolutely priced fairly. I havent received my deposit back yet, but I believe the issue is on my end. Their staff is very knowledgeable too!
I would never again rent any tool and equipment at the home depot. They are ripped off on your hard earned $ and then explain about their company policies. The cost most of their equipment for one week is also equal buying it brand new
John at the rental counter was awesome.
Worst experience I have had with a business. Staff was not knowledgeable. They could not explain why the stump grinder did not work for a pine tree that I just cut down. A local competitor sunbelt rentals understood within the first minute over the phone what 3 home depot employees couldnt figure out in 20 mins in person with a sample of the wood I was trying to grind. Apparently stump grinder manufacturers recommend waiting 5 to 6 months after cutting pine trees before grinding them.I will no longer be doing business with home depot rental department.
If I could give negative stars, I would. First, they lost our lawnmower they were supposed to be fixing. No idea what happened to it. Fast forward a year and now theyve lost a drill they were supposed to fix. Once again, no where to be found. I will never purchase a tool or anything electronic there ever again. Their repair department is absolutely incompetent.
UPDATE: For years I have shopped here and been given the veterans discount. Then they changed the game and you could get it only if you had one of several cards. When I applied for one of the cards I was told I was ineligible because I own rental property. Duh. Thats half the reason I buy so much stuff. So, HD can take a flying leap. Lowes still accepts my old vet ID (which I earned almost fifty years ago).
Rented tools and equipment from them for DIY projects. Helpful and good price.
Terrific service!
