This foundation has a number of fun charity events! I go to their zoo scavenger hunt and movie marathon with my family every year that I can. I love having a good time with loved ones while also helping out a good cause. Go team MYBASOM๐
I have volunteered and donated to the Blood Cancer Foundation of Michigan for more than six years. I love that the organization directly supports families in our community and all funds raised stay here in Michigan. Thank you BCFM for all the good work you do!
My mother-in-law was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia two years ago. During her journey, she was supported in so many ways by the BCFM, both financially and emotionally. We will be forever thankful for her recovery and the support we received to get through this trying experience.
Awesome time with my friends at the BCF Safari Scavenger Hunt at the Detroit Zoo. My friends are really WILD. We had a great time supporting a great cause! Thank you for putting this event together.
We have supported BCFM for years. They do fantastic work for the community and all of their events are fun for the whole family!
They ran a great fundraiser at the zoo and weโre happy to support this charity, who gives to patients who need it the most!
We are at the Detroit zoo scavenger hunt to raise money for the blood cancer foundation and we are having a blast!
Great experience at the Detroit zoo raising awareness for an organization that does amazing work.
I have a rare and aggressive brain cancer, am currently in remission for the 2nd time. Primary central nervous system lymphoma affects approximately 1400 people a year, the vast majority of them are immune compromised. For the rest of us there is not very much information to be found. The Childrens leukemia foundation, now the Blood Cancer Foundation of Michigan, has been extremely supportive and informative about lymphoma of the brain. The brain does not have lymph nodes, FYI. Keep up the great work. Also if you go to charity navigator you can see how upfront they are with donations.
The foundation does wonderful work helping cancer patients
We donated to this foundation last year. Last week, we donated to a different charity. We get a call today asking for another. While trying to explain that we do not have the funds to donate at this time because we also donate to other charities, the woman hung up with not so much as a goodbye. To top it off it looks like they pocket most of the donations rather than giving it to the patients and their families. I will be warning family and friends to stay away from this Foundation in the future.
These people keep calling thanking me for my donation and asking if Id like to contribute. I have NEVER, I repeat NEVER donated to this organization. I have asked/demanded to be removed from their list yet the calls continue. They are as bad as the robo callers!!!
According to their 990 and annual report over 1.2 million dollars was raised, yet only $68,000 was giving to patients for emergencies and another approximately $34,000 directly to patients. The toys they get are all donated - they dont buy them. They pay next to nothing to host their patient events bc the community is so generous. The bulk of the funds raised goes to education which really is over paid social workers who just help connect patients to organizations that actually help provide support for people suffering.
Clf is awesome! They have helped us a tremendous amount when my husband had leukemia!!โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ๐๐๐๐
Also love them
