I was a patient of his over 25 years ago and he assisted me and regaining control of my life and helped me get back on the right path,. For I worked in mental health at the time and had to deal with many different attitudes from professionals as well as the mentally ill. We became friends as I journeyed through the hardships of my life at the time. I thought Id look him up to see how He was doing and Im glad to see that he still in business and helping people of all walks of life. For I am a native and have experienced all of the racial segregation and discrimination that could be possible for one to endure . And when I think of those days it still brings a smile to my face... Congratulations on keeping sanity in your part of the world.Your old friend Waukon..Ps. God has been with me through it all as always and I still have a smile on my face, it is a magnificent life...

Dr. Rice is, without question, the most knowledgeable and thoughtful psychologist I know. When I was going through my divorce, Dr. Rice was instrumental in helping me work through the various emotional situations that I thought I could handle, but proved time and time again to need help navigating. Divorce is the toughest emotional thing anyone can ever go through, and having an experienced professional like Dr. Rice to guide me through made all the difference in the world. Thank you, Dr. Rice, for your invaluable insight and ability to break things down to their most basic level. Now that the dust has cleared, its easy to see how valuable his input was.

I have known Dr. Rice for about 25 years. First, he helped me through postpartum depression, then through a serious bout of clinical depression. Since then he has helped me and given me advice for family problems, marriage problems, and any other problems that have come up along the way. He helped me learn more effective ways of dealing with our children, and I feel that without his help our family life would be very unhappy. I like to talk to him, he is very nice. Dr. Rice also has his dog, Maya, with him to help clients feel more comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Rice for help with any problem you might have in your life. Many thanks to you Dr. Rice for your care and concern throughout the years!

Nice guy and well meaning Im sure, but after spending a good twenty minutes of our $100 hour telling us we couldnt afford him and should have gone to CCS instead, he called my unborn child a foodstamp baby, told me to get a job, and continuously and erroneously conflated unplanned pregnancy with unwanted- abortion was brought up far more times than could be considered appropriate seeing as I never once indicated the pregnancy was unwelcome. My partner and I had gone in to discuss our communication issues. Not the status of my pregnancy, or of my validity as a mother. Nor of the status of my bank account. We understand how therapy works, and were willing to pay in full for it. Why the assumption was made that we couldnt afford a service we actively sought, I dont know. Why actual therapy wasnt offered to us during the hours of service we paid for, I also dont know. His parting words as we were leaving the office were, Stress is bad for the baby. Thanks!

I have seen Dr. Rice on and off for several years. Dr. Rice has helped me work through depression, given me tools to deal with OCD and stress, helped me to enhance my relationship with my parents, and given me suggestions to improve my work life and dealings with coworkers. I am glad I met Dr. Rice and was able to take advantage of his experience in psychology. And I love his therapy dog!
