Since MI have new laws for auto insurance I have been receiving letters. Got one today from Liberty. Called the first lady had the nerves to HANG UP on me because I wasnt interested bundle house and car insurance. So she said u want save it but dont the bundle I DNT get it.. then i said forget the home insurance just do the car she hang up on me... Never had such terrible customer service in my entire life. Hang up cuz I m not interested in something u r offering??!! Second one I couldnt hear him and he asked ME to call back. I will never recommend LIBERTY MUTUAL ever.

They could not provide me with a quote affordable for me. The quote was too high and they based it on location, (Detroit) ins score; If I havent been able to buy a car in a long time, why penalize me because Im now able to afford a car? I received a blessing that made this possible and Ive held a clear and clean record as long as Ive been driving.

Not sure if Tawayne works at this location, but I called the customer service line and spoke with him and he was assisting me with getting a declaration page and he was the most pleasant person I have spoken with. He verified everything was correct and was friendly the entire time. I have State Farm and I have never had such great customer service. Speaking to him makes me want to switch over policies! He is so awesome!

Signed up online for auto and home the other day. That day I went up to Secretary of State to get a plate for a new vehicle. Upon reaching the counter I found that Liberty Mutual set my start for seven days later so I called them from the counter and asked them to change the start date. I was told that they could only change it to the next business day which is fine. But then they told me that since I signed up online I would have to pay a convenience fee of $700 more on may policy for them to make the change. They claimed that I received a online discount and if they rewrote the policy I couldnt get it. The other option they gave me was to go back online and sign up for a NEW policy with the correct start date. Of course in order to do this I would have to pay them another $570 down payment and have to wait a week to get my first down payment back.At this time I asked to speak with a supervisor and upon connecting with her I was told the same thing. I asked for her supervisor and was told they would get back with me in 48 to 72 hours.I called later after I calmed down and cancelled. It is now four days later and I have not heard from anyone about my complaints and have not received my money back on my card.STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I would rate them no stars but in order to post this I had to give them one.Phil Szanto, Livonia, Michigan

I have had nothing but headaches with this insurance company. It was my own fault not changing in the years. Every few months my payment would change and be outrageously high. I should have a Porsche With the insurance I was paying. They’re over priced When I called to cancel my insurance policy, they said they did but DIDNT and charged me $300. And says I still owe for my next payment. Someone didn’t do their job. Save yourself the headache and money and go to progressive!

I was looking into a combined homeowner and auto policy, things were going great until I found a much better deal on my auto - the agent stopped responding to my emails (I think Ive sent 4+ - they still send me their marketing emails though) as soon as I asked about just homeowners. I guess its not enough business for them to waste their time.Stay away.

My experience with Liberty Car Insurance I spoke with a P. Smith, in the policy that he set me up with was my first down payment of $246 my next payment he skipped a month for me which made my payment due August 6th of $168 I tried to contact him on the phone today August1st 2016 his voice message said that he would be there until 5 oclock p.m. still I call and no pick up so I spoke to another representative who informed me that my policy number was changed, I wasnt informed! And that my payment for August was going to be 200 and $46 I told her this does not sound like the agreement I made on the phone with Mr. Smith, she told me she tried tocontact him but could not Im wondering is this how people are scammed, they must think that when they hike the prices up with A person that cant afford it, My payment August was supposed to be $168 thats what I had agreed to with Mr. Smith, He never tried to contact me back either so I had to take action into my own hands and protect myself I would never ever suggest this car insurance anyone you need to record because they falsify over the phone Liberty to me is a big zero if there known by the BBB, Im filing a complaint with them to..

I highly recommend never doing business with this company, ever since getting in contact with them its been nothing but a nightmare, they dont communicate with each other and there own branches so no info is ever passed along, the people are very aggressive when talking with you, this company is bound to burn itself down to the ground.

Jim Hillman (agent) and Liberty Mutual are FIRED effective immediately!!! I just found out that my 69 year old mother is being charged $3,479 a year for full coverage on a basic 2010 Dodge minivan! She has no points. No claims. No accidents. She’s been with this agent since early 1990’s! Oh, and it gets bettter! He’s charging her $3,004 a year for home insurance on a 1946 home that’s 1,800 sq ft in Waterford which she would be lucky to get $250,000 for yet he’s got replacement value at $335,000! Oh, and that’s after almost $1,000 of so called “discounts!” I’m literally sick over this! She lives on a fixed income of $1,400 a month! It’s no wonder this agent has such horrible ratings! He should be ashamed of himself! She honestly thought that’s how much insurance cost! Not even close! She’s being over charged by $4,500 a year! I’m going to social media next! He will never again get business from anyone we know! I’ll make sure of that!

Almost impossible to deal with. They keep changing the start date, dont return calls, keep changing the rate, no two agents have the same story, after repeatedly giving them my information, they claim something has been changed and that raised the policy rate. They keep adding home owners to my policy, though I have declined that numerous times. They failed to start the policy on time, then when I finally reached someone, I was told that the rate had gone up, because it was a different day. When I spoke to Jovian Carvhjal, she bumped the policy rate up even higher, stating that since I did not reach my agent yesterday, the price went up. When I asked for Jovian Carvhjals name, she hesitated and then kept spelling it differently. However, when I initially spoke to Allen Sandoval, over a week ago, he called me back on 03/20/2018, over a week after I initially spoke to him, and the insurance quote remained the same. So the price changes from day to day but not over waiting a week to start the policy? I have called Allen Sandoval numerous times, but he will not return my telephone call, after hounding me repeatedly for a week to start the policy. Beginning to think this is a scam company, and easy to see why their ratings are so low, dealing with Sean Ellis (Florida), Allen Sandoval, Jovian Carvhjal (Texas) and a half dozens whose names I do not recall. Would give them no stars, but that isnt an option. Time for a complaint to the Michigan Attorney General.

I have been patiently waiting for someone in claims to answer their phone. Ive been on hold 27 minutes and waiting. This company is worse than horrible. They keep advertising for new business but clearly they are incapable of handling it in a reasonable fashion.Go anywhere else for insurance!
