You can rent an instrument for your kids school music class here. The prices were reasonable. They are very knowledgeable and showed me how to assemble the saxophone. Also, they were very helpful on how to clean it and how to properly attach the reed (including how to wet the reed properly). They were very patient with all the questions I had for the instrument, the rental process, etc.

It is a great place to find your musical instrument and have lessons to best make use of your purchase to have a lifetime of enjoyment of music.

Use to come to this music store as a kid and didnt think too much about it. Started going to the local shows they held on Friday Nights, one of the most inspiring things I have got a chance to be apart of! They also have a great selection of stuff and never fail to make me happy!

My son takes piano lessons here from Rick Lowe and it is great. Rick is the first piano teacher hes had that really takes time with him and really gets working with a kid. The staff at the store itself is very friendly and knowledgeable. Weve never had a bad experience here.

Bought a used supposedly gone through Marshall amp and brand new guitar and boss effects system. Brought both back numerous times because the sound from one of the two was cutting out. All returns to the store provided that they couldnt find the problem. When I returned home each time the cutting out of sound was apparent and obvious. The store would not refund my cash payment to buy a new amplifier but insisted I could trade for something else only. I took the amp to another guitar shop in Sacramento and before I finished looking around the tech had found a cold solder joint with cracks in it which should have been obvious to someone that has been in the business for years. They either knew what was wrong and were too cheap to fix it, or they due to inexperience really had no idea. I had to pay to have it repaired when I shouldnt have had to. I will never go back again. I would highly not recommend anyone buying from them as they dont stand behind their products. I also purchased almost $2000.00 worth of equipment from them to get screwed like I did. Thumbs down!

We returned our rental violin a week before it was due and still were charged for the next month. When I contacted Gordons they stated they would look into it. After many calls back and forth of them verifying that yes we had turned it in on time they said they would look into a refund. A month later still no refund. When I called again I was told by Mr. Gordon that maybe the problem was with my bank, that perhaps they were deciding not to post the credit.

From personal experience i can say without a doubt that Gordon is a honest man, if you want to be frank with the gentleman he wont lead you astray. Be respectful!

Well, unfortunately I have to agree with the majority of the reviewers here. This is not a very good music store to do business with.Or, more specifically, the salesman/owner Gordon...yikes what a train wreck!I traveled to Gordons music from out-of-town looking for a nice tube-amp for my guitar. I had spoken with a very nice lady on the phone, and she began helping me when I arrived at the store. However, her shift was ending, and she left for the day...I wish I had left also...Well, to make a long story short- I tried asking the owner Gordon some questions about purchasing an amplifier, he basically refused to listen to what I wanted to buy, and attempted to force me to purchase the items that he had in stock. When I tried again to tell him that I was not interested in the amplifiers that they were currently stocking, he began a long, grouchy story about how back in his day he used to build amps from kits....yawn* And, please sell me what I am asking you for!Well after 10-15 minutes I could see that I was wasting my time with this person.And so, after looking around locally, I found a wonderful music store in Benicia called ABC Music...Very Nice people who actually listen to my needs as a customer!I then purchased a great Vox amp from them, and have been a faithful customer ever since. And my guitar lives happily ever after...:-)

I walked in trying to buy guitar strings Nd immediately felt unwelcomed never had a issue before this but cashier couldn’t even awnser a question bout the strings felt like they thought I was going to steal from them or something know I’ll rather drive out of town for eny musical needs

Went to this music store the other day at witness a customer get mad at the staff for almost giving them a display guitar ( the customer was a little rude which was not needed) I was helped by this very nice African American young lady who also assisted the staff member after being held at almost catching an attitude back with the customer . The only reason why Im giving this place a 4 star is because that young lady was really sweet, other wise the prices are way too high . recently I broke my stand which I bought for $6 online which I had for a year and they sold the same one for $14 ( kind of a rip off) . Nonetheless I understand the pricings of this store because of the lack of foot traffic in downtown traffic and the lack of musicians in fairfield. Fairfield is not like Berkeley or San Francisco where musicians and foot traffic are of a greater thing . Nonetheless thank you for your assistance.

Had our family piano taken to the store to be sold, it was the Sacramento store they have had the piano for over three years now and have not sold it even after reducing the price buy 50% they also took the piano from the Sacramento store without telling me, they decided to close the Sacto store because of poor sales performance in the current economy, then they moved it to their main store in Fairfield without telling me I only found out because I went to the store in Sacramento to ask them how the sale of it was doing and the store was closed up and I had to do some research to find out they had a main store in Fairfield.

The only problem I have with Gordons is the prices I paid $23.45 for one oboe reed and to me I think that is very pricey

It was a good place I dont speak English but they can attend you in Spanish !! And very good service
