They dont really now what they are doing and guessing with part and diagnostic and never fix the problem just charging for random things dont recommend I wish can get my money back

I went to this auto shop because they had good reviews. I left my car on Monday 7:00 in the morning and didnt get it back until 3:30 Wednesday evening. Once I call to get my car back they hadnt done any work to it at all so they basically had my car for 3 days and convincing me. The day I called to get my car back I told them if they hadnt fixed the transmission dont worry about it Ill just pay for the oil change and be on my way to which the guy that answered the phone responded they hadnt even done the oil change. I get my vehicle back my vent was busted, I have a scuff mark above my driver tire, the lid was left open on my windshield wiper fluid and I have oil placed in my coolant reservoir and my fan was unscrewed from my radiator which shouldnt have been touched because they werent doing the work on it. I now have to come out of pocket $500 plus to get the oil out of my coolant and to go ahead and have my transmission flush like they were supposed to have done. I also have to replace the tubings around my engine because the oil has caused them to swell and I see all sitting on top of them. I will not be going back to these people and I do not recommend that anybody especially a female go over there to get work done. The people are nice but the work quality is s*****.

Chad seems knowledgeable and interested in instruction as opposed to telling you what you want to hear. He does in a manner friendliness which, to me, made it easier to make tough, expensive decisions. The rest of the staff seems friendly as well. The place just feels like a throw back to good, family owned businesses that once were the the backbone of the country.

Sorry i walked in to the shop first talked to a little lady in the front about what i needed. Give the name of the truck size of engine, she say she need the vin an something else so i said ok ill get back with you (thats when i called later the same day an gave the same information) Call to see what it will cost to fix my truck. All my information was give the lady about the truck an she say she will call me back to let me know the cost.. NEVER GOT A CALL BACK.. I call them back and she said she have not call for the parts yet.. ( it was 5 hours in between time of me calling the 1st time to the call back) THANKS FOR TRYING TO REACH OUT TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT.. IT WAS 2 1/2 TO 3 WEEKS AGO, TRUCK IS RIGHT NOW.. THEY HAVE DONE WORK FOR ME IN THE PAST AND I WAS HAPPY WITH THE JOBS. DIDNT HAVE ANY ISSUES LIKE THIS.. IN FACT THEY WAS VERY NICE AN HELPFUL THAT IS WHY I WENT THERE FIRST..THANKS AGAIN..

Barbara aka MOM was THE 1st sign that I came to a great establishment. Well the atmosphere was warm and EVERYONE was welcoming. Fast forward major issues with my vehicle yet CHAD was super detailed and worked on items that actually resolved some other issues. Super impressed. Costs well just say I was so pleased with services I offered CHAD lunch. Few more things to work on and GOWANS will be my GO TO service repair destination. They explain and provide itemized invoices. Love it.

This place gave me the worst auto repair experience ever. I wouldnt advise my worst enemy to come here.. I brought 2 vehicles here spent right at $3000 needless to say neither vehicle is right . In fact worse than when I brought them in. And I brought my car back twice and still didnt get it right and they didnt offer to give me none of my money back. Now Im looking for someone to get both vehicles right after going to this place. I suffered a great loss of time and money here. Worst repair place I ever been too.. They charge top quality prices with shade tree service. In my experience it was worse than shade tree service..

Wasted a ton of money here cause they weren’t honest about not knowing how to properly work on my truck. Found a place finally but I would say considering I specifically asked“ if you don’t know what your doing please tell me and I’ll find someone else. “ and they said they knew what they were doing only for me to have to take it somewhere else ... so I would unfortunately say they are an unhonest mechanic.

This is one of the best mechanic shops that I have ever been to. They are very friendly, informative, professional and super good. I needed a transmission and they were very on point with everything. Although I chose not to repair my vehicle, Gowen’s provided professional, honest & efficient service when I needed it. I have a 2005 Equinox which has been giving me minor issues but my check engine light came on, I had a few mechanics diagnose, fix something small, light goes off & comes back on within a few days. I called Gowen’s after the SUV cut off while driving. In a day, they diagnosed the problems (catalytic converter) and gave me time to consider my options.

I called to price a catalytic converter and Chad answered the phone, after informing him that I was calling different locations for prices he took his time not only giving me the information I requested he also told me about the part and the actual labor needed to fulfill the service. He stayed on the phone with me for nearly 10 minutes explaining everything, it was the most information anyone had given me about my car so, I decided to take my car to them for the service. I dropped my car off Wednesday morning and was called Thursday afternoon to tell me my car was ready for pickup. My car drives great and Im super happy with the service I received. Definitely made a loyal customer out of me. ☺

Mechanics are very skilled. They were able to fix a problem that l have had for the last three years. I would have liked more communication and regular updates. I had to initiate most of the communication and a few dates of completion passed without them calling me. They are a little more expensive than other shops, but they are good. If you have a hard to figure problem, give them a call.

I bring my car here, a Mercedes-Benz GLK 350. Not easy to find a good mechanic for a foreign. They do all the maintenance and repair work for me. They are professional ASE mechanics and they give professional service. When they say your car will be done it is done. When they give you a price thats it, not a bunch of add-ons at the last minute. I recommend them to anyone with domestic or foreign cars.

I have been to Gowens on four different occasions. They are very thorough. They dont rush through the repairs. Some things should not be rushed. Youd never want a surgeon to rush through surgery and I dont want machanics to rush through any of my car repairs! They do a great job and I feel safe when I take my car home.

Was able to fix my car at a very reasonable price. I will take my car there for all future maintenance.

I had an AWESOME first experience with Gowens Automotive Repair Shop. I was in route back to Albany, GA from Atlanta when my idler pulley and serpentine belt gave way on my 2000 Mercedes Benz SUV. I called several repair shops, and none of them could assist because they were simply booked up for several weeks. Gowens was actually booked, but they made a special exception for me since I was traveling. They ordered the needed parts right away and took on my repair job as soon as I had my vehicle towed to them. This customer service speaks in volume with me. They were genuinely wanting to assist me. They were up front about the details of the repair, and their pricing was very reasonable. Brandon is a great Mercedes mechanic, and EVERYONE I came in contact with at that shop had a very pleasing personality. I would definitely use this repair facility again.

Great family owned and operated business. Have been getting my cars repaired here for a few years now and am always satisfied with the work as well as the service. The heater in my wifes car stopped working on the coldest day of the year. Dropped it off Friday morning was done by 4 when it should have taken 2 days....but they always get me in and out quickly and for an honest price.This is the ONLY garage I have ever used that sticks to the estimate even if other small issues pop up. Final charge was less than estimate. Good parts good price ...Great service and great staff.Thank you Gowens

Charged me $100 dollars to change a $15 plug that was reachable from the top of engine. $109 for diagnostic check. Typical mechanic shop stuff. The people were friendly & informational. They really cared about the customers best interest.

Gowen is a good place to take your car. This company is willing to make it right whatever the problem may be with your,car. There was a misunderstanding on my part about the service they gave. Mr. Rick tries to own up to their service. And will make it right for all the customers.

Please dont get me wrong, overall I believe this is a very decent repair shop to have your vehicle serviced. Ive had great encounters with the majority of those who work here. I dont feel a higher rating is warranted because, Ive often felt like I was given resistance to my claims by the front desk attendant Barbara. I feel like she oversteps the boundaries of the scope of her perceived job description and/or qualifications, when she tries to discuss matters with me pertaining to my car. For instance, if I tell her what Im experiencing with my car, she immediately becomes this interrogative, presumptive, diagnostic front desk attendant in my opinion; to me, it feels like she is looking for a reason to say Ive done something wrong or negligent to my car. Its very hard to get a word in with her, and whenever I can talk to her, it seems like she isnt listening, but thinking of what her rebuttal is going to be when Ive stopped talking. I just want her to take my car in, and let me deal with the professionals. She is the reason Ive started taking my car to another service provider.She is also the reason, I try my best to overlook/avoid her and ask for the help of someone else when I arrive. My car is currently there for a warranty issue, and unfortunately Ive had to deal with her service related character flaws again. I dislike writing reviews of this nature, but Ive had enough of how I feel when I deal with her.

I had two issues with two different vehicles. My 2005 Avalanche had a front drive axle seal leak and leaking transmission cooler lines. It was a big job and a bit complicated. Gowens did a great job in a very timely manner. They cleaned up the mess and since I was out of my vehicle Rick Gowen took me home. Once that was done the next day I switched vehicles with them and they got to the bottom of what I thought was a valve tick. Fortunately it was only an exhaust leak which they fixed quickly considering their high volume of vehicles they were working on. Everyone involved was professional, helpful, and very respectful. When I have mechanical issues to deal with in the future Ill be going to Gowens! Its a hidden gem in the heart of Fairburn Georgia. Thanks to all for a great job!

Quite honestly l was very disappointed. My car was there for 3 or 4 months and was never diagnosed properly. There was absolutely no communication from your service dept. Days, weeks, and months just passed. Whenever l checked with service l received meaningless excuses. It became clear to me that you guys could not properly diagnose the problem. I wish this would have been communicated much earlier in the process. Utimately l had to have my vehicle towed to another shop. I do however appreciate not being charged for this experience.

I was referred to Gowen’s by another small auto repair shop for a problem with tire pressure sensors. Gowen’s figured out the problem and corrected it.

Ms.Barbara was very hospitable and provided helpful information regarding drop off and pick up if my car. I will return if any further car needs come up versus going to a dealership. Relationship matters!

Was hoping to find a neighborhood mechanic but this isnt the place. I was told 57$ to bleed the coolant system however they decided to do a diagnostic that came up to 116. When I took my van home my fan wouldnt turn off. When I asked why I was told that it was just getting worse. I was pleased when I later I received a call saying that they had taken a relay out and thats what was wrong. I was given the relay but but theyre never offered to put it back in. When I went home to replace it myself I found the holster for the relay Was broken and lying on the altinator . Too busy to pay attention to detail and customer service.
