WARNING: If you use these guys, your taxes could be filed late and incorrectly and you may incur fees from the IRS due to their misconduct. The following is my story:These guys filed my taxes late and with error. When confronted they only assumed only partial responsibility. I was not informed of their misconduct until I received a letter from the IRS. Block advisors initially attributed this to a computer or technical glitch and if that was the case, I’d find it reasonable to be notified. I followed up with tax preparer I used (Mitchell) who was not helpful and seemed to ignore contact attempts. I then was referred to a manager (Peter Rodriguez) who assured me things would be taken care of after some investigating. Over the course of nearly two months, I tried contacting them by email and phone several times but was unable to get a response or a call back for a follow up. I called the HR department to have this escalated however did not receive a follow up. I was able to find Peter Rodriguez personal number however he apparently has since left the company and referred me to the regional manager Lou. He said he would follow up with a solution and did not call me back until I pushed for a response after 3 weeks. They offered a mere partial refund for the absolutely disgusting disservice that took on my part nearly 30 phone calls and 10 emails from October 23rd to January 8th, 2021... in regards to a 2019 tax return.

While my taxes arent exactly super complex, theyre more than I can handle. I walked in without an appointment, and these folks bent over backwards to accommodate me the same day as quickly as possible. It is my pleasure to boldly claim that they are loads better than Jackson Hewitt. Youre going to pay about 15-20% more for Block Advisors, and youre going to be really happy about it because itll be worth every dime on your return after theyve gone well out of their way to find you every last dime the IRS owes you (*if* the IRS owes you). They even took the filing costs out of the refund for me since my budget was tight. It comes with an additional minor fee, but again, its worth it. The whole office seems to be filled with kind, gentle, sweet people, and next year, instead of being apprehensive about filing, Im eagerly strolling right down to their office instead with confidence.

My husband and I have been coming here for the last 3 years. This year not only were they able to figure out when our foreclosed house from another state had officially been sold, but they also helped us amend a return from 2015 where we actually paid too much! Thank you to Anne and Chieko, they are wonderfully sweet and helpful. This is the only place I will ever go to file our complicated taxes, because they really do find money that others miss.
