Super easy to use and reasonably priced. We rented a double kayak for 90 minutes and wished we’d rented it for the day! You can text if you have questions, and you receive a quick response. Highly recommend!

This was such an easy and fun experience. It was our first time, so it took a few minutes to figure out the locks and whatnot. Watch the video before leaving for the park. The water was a little rough because of so many fishing boats coming in and out of the marina, but there was more than enough areas for us to paddle around without having to worry about boat traffic. Will definitely be back and will recommend to others.

I booked my reservation 2 hours ahead of time. The email confirmation came quick, but made no mention of when or how I would receive the code for the lock. I arrived 10 minutes before my start and still hadn’t received the code. There was a sign posted that said “please allow 10 minutes for code to arrive,” so I gave it 10 minutes after my start time just to be safe, but still never came. I had to text the number on the sign for help, but after that it was quick resolution and I was given my full time as they allowed me the full window. Not sure what they could have done had there been a rental after me, but it was appreciated nonetheless. Now that I am comfortable with the system I would do it again. This is in no way kayakshares fault, but the kayak also was full of water. I had to spend some time emptying the kayak which cut into my time. Just something to be aware of. Chances are the person before wasn’t sure how, but you could certainly feel the weight!

So fun and so easy! some hot tips are that there is a roller thing to help you get your kayak and SUP to the water (save your energy for the water). Also make sure to put the fins down on your SUP, it will make it a lot easier!

After a snafu with the combination locks, the company comped a rental for me. Their customer service is amazing--communicative and so very attentive. The location is great and the prices are super reasonable. Will be back!

The kayaks were easy to access and instructions were clear. The area isnt the best for kayaking as we happened to hit the tide flowing out which caused a very significant current. Id recommend kayaking into the marina and look at the yachts. Avoid the open water during big tide changes. Wear your PFD.

Great locationEasy pickup/returnOutstanding customer serviceWe rented 2 kayaks and one was still being used by the previous renter when we arrived. The owner responded immediately and allowed us to take another instead. He also gave us an extra hour for our rentals along with a 50% off coupon to make up for the inconvenience -which was so generous and more than he needed to do. Already made another reservation!

I love the concept of kayakshare, just not the current execution. The idea of self-service kayak rental is both ingenious and novel. However, this first iteration at the Port of Everett missed the mark. All starts off well with online scheduling and a code texted to you to access the kayak. The kiosk was easy to find thanks to precise directions on their website. I’m thinking this will be similar to an Amazon Locker experience...Unfortunately it’s not. What you encounter is a rack that holds 4 kayaks and what looks like 2 SUPs. Each are locked to the rack in a web of cables and locks with numbers on them. The cables all wrap messily around a portion of the rack. On this part of the rack there are two large key boxes similar to what a real estate agent uses. Are these part of the process for getting my kayak....I don’t know but I spent some time messing with them. Then there’s this unlabeled red plastic box on the ground near the rack, and by chance I opened it up and inside was another box with a lock on it and a keypad. This must be where I enter this code I was texted when I scheduled.Upon opening the lock inside are individual keys that have tags on them with worn away writing. They must go to the locks on the racks and the web of cables?I had rented “Double Kayak #6”....does that correspond to lock #6, or the number on the actual kayak?Found a key to open lock #4 that was connected to kayak #6. Ok I guess I’ll use this one. Now, do I take the key with me or do I put it back in the red box?Finally...the experience on the water. Meh. These kayaks are not nearly ideal for this area. They are big plastic kayaks that sit high on the water, are open top, and have no rudder. The Port of Everett is where the Snohomish River meets Puget Sound and there is a very strong current. These kayaks were almost useless out in it. We paddled for 45 minutes and didn’t make much headway. Decided to call it instead of taking our scheduled 2 hours. We landed and hauled the kayak back up to the rack and opened the red box again....no keys. Looks like other renters decided to take the keys (as I had also considered). Luckily there was a lock open and we locked everything back up and left.As i said the concept is great but the execution sucks. My recommendations :1. Invest in better kiosk equipment (Go use an Amazon locker and copy this experience somehow)2. Have clear step-by-step signage3. Pick gear appropriate for the areaThis way you don’t have to field so many text messages and phone calls from confused customers.***5/10/21 UPDATE***I left this review 8 months ago, and got your reply an hour ago? I’m confused. Did it just now post or did you just now actually leave the reply? You’ve stated you issued me a refund, but I don’t think you can do that 8 months after the fact. I just checked and don’t see any credit. I don’t want to be rude but are you just saying that to show a “positive” reply as the business owner for others who read this? Consider me thankful for the reply but highly suspicious.
