I just moved into evansville and this is one of the few vets still taking new patients, unfortunately. They are holding my very elderly dogs pain medication hostage to try to force me into getting her $200 cbcs every 6 months. They dont care about my very elderly dogs quality of life - they just want to milk as much money as possible out of me. And, if you complain they do you as a patient knowing no other vets are taking new patients.

Kind and courteous service. Dr. Lautner addressed all of my questions and concerns. I really appreciated how he explained everything he was looking for during the examination of each of my cats. Now I realize how thorough the exam was and how genuinely concerned the staff are for my fur-babys health.

As a student that isnt from EVV, I had a dog emergency when the ER was closed. They were the only animal hospital that would allow me to take my dog without being a client. And I am so thankful! My dog had to get surgery and she made a speedy recovery! I am very thankful 🙏

East Side Animal Hospital has been so helpful with my cats. They took the best care of my older cat, until her last day. They wrote me the most beautiful card after she pasted, it truly touched my heart. I have never had a bad experience here.

I boarded my dog and wasn’t told there would be a fecal test required so when I picked my dog up after 3 nights, the price was 2/3 more that expected. To top it off the results didn’t come back until after I picked my dog up, so if there was an issue it would have been too late to do anything about it. NOT HAPPY!

Two words nickel and dime, for any reason. My dog is all up to date with his shots and I sent them proof, but they always required some other shot my dogs going to have to get, thats going to raise that price. My dog got a bath there once and it was the best bath hes ever got. Thats the only reason Im giving two stars. So I received an email for a $15 bath, and I made a appointment. I confirmed the price and suddenly its $150 - $230. See images. This is the only place Iv taken my dog and receive any push back regarding my health records or need for additional services. The staff and facility seem top notch, but I will never be back.

The doctors and staff are so professional and nice. But most of all, they adhere to the AAHA standards of practice and care. If you have ever experienced this standard of care for you pet, you will never go without again. These doctors take time to fully explain everything they are doing with your pet to assure you are fully informed in making the best healthcare decisions for your pets. Working closely with them has blessed us with a still thriving 17 year old Yorkie with a condition that could have easily been fatal for him several years ago. And I was so amazed that when I took in my new puppy, the doctor was able to immediately tell me what an issue was - even before the labs were taken to confirm it. All the doctors are very educated and are dedicated to great pet care. I would never want less for all four of my little ones.

I took my two American bullies kon and fendi here. I absolutely love it. I was going to another vet but due to one of my dogs having an emergency a couple months ago I had to take them here. They quality of care and love for the animals they treat was so fantastic that we switched. The prices are fair and they work with you. Today they got some shots and meds. They were once again excellent. Especially the lady that I interacted with that comes out to get the animals from you. I dont remember her name but she was so nice and sweet. She explained in detail what they would be doing and the prices. She even ran back to make sure she gave me a coupon when I was picking them up. Thank you so much for taking care of my fur kids.

This place is still on lockdown like its July of 2020. Cant even go in with your animal, but the staff doesnt wear masks. Strange.

I have NOTHING but fantastic stuff to say about this vet. My puppy had an intestinal problem they diagnosed immediately but unfortunately at the time had to refer me to a local emergency vet hospital that did x-rays and sent us home with de-wormer and a follow up with your regular vet in 3 days diagnosis. I followed up with East Side Animal Hospital and they felt the same mass in her abdomen and did an ultra sound and confirmed their initial diagnosis the emergency vet should have caught and moved appointments around to do emergency surgery to save my baby. She is doing phenomenal now, less than a week after surgery. Please, if you need a vet, see East Side Animal Hospital. They will do everything in their power to help your fur-babies. I cant vouch for them enough.

I recently brought my two guinea pigs in to have a second opinion on a respiratory issue. I should have brought them here to begin with! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the techs were sweet and gentle with my babies, and Dr. Thompson provided excellent care. They were very thorough, unlike the other pet hospital I had taken them to a month before, and provided the correct care that was needed to help get my little guys better. If I could put more than 5 stars I would!!!

On her 2nd day with us, I woke up with several concerns about my newly-adopted Pomeranian. She had a few symptoms and a couple conditions that could mean something or nothing serious. Im as much a worried dog mom as my worried sons mom and wanted to get her looked at some place nearby right away. When we called East Side Animal Hospital and asked for a same-day appt., they scheduled us for a visit 30 min. later. I dont know if this was an available appointment or an imposition that was accommodated---and, thats one way you know the service was good. Our new pet got a full workup and thorough exam. All my questions were answered to my satisfaction (and there were many) as the staff worked with, both, us and the dog, patiently. Although this was an unusual situation for us, their help and assurance was exactly what we needed this day. ESAH is yet to meet our Maltese, but having recently relocated, both pets need a good veterinarian---and we believe weve found ours.

They are all nice. Its expensive but its all worth it and effective, our Kitten Luna is now happy and well. Thank you

I took my dog there for 12 years. The staff was always kind and compassionate, especially the day we said goodbye. Dr. Thompson and Dr. Stewart made sure i understood the care he received. The office is always clean and maintained. I 100% recommend them and will go back with any future pets.

The care that Luke receives each time we have a scheduled or unscheduled visit, is excellent. We are always met with warmth from caring individuals. My Luke cannot wait to get out of the car to visit his friends. My previous Lab, Bojangles, was also cared for here until he was 13 years old. When he needed to be put down 4-5 years ago, the staff was very caring and allowed me the time to say good-bye. They even followed up with a card to my home.

If you make arrangements to have your pet boarded over Xmas and want to feel safe your pet is taken care of; DONT GO TO EAST SIDE ANIMAL HOSPITAL. I was quoted a price of $58.00. I told the receptionist where all my sisters dogs shots were given in 9.16 several days prior. When I brought the dog in so my 81 year old sister(who is in a nursing home) could spend 3 days WITH ME, the receptionist said with a snotty response, it will be 150.00; not 58.00. We require a fecal test and border cough shot.Had the receptionist taken the time to read the report, my sisters dog had both the shot and FECAL test in September 2016. I have NEVER had trouble with the techs or vets. This non caring receptionist doesnt know her job and has a chip on her shoulder. I will never take my animals to a place with a receptionist who treated me like she did and ruined my sisters Xmas. I have to choose a STAR, BUT NONE for this type of negativity and nastiness. The other colleague who gave me the price initially, just sat there. I TOTALLY RESENT THE RECEPTIONISTS BEHAVIOR AND LACK OF LOOKING AT THE REPORT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME SHE HAS BEEN CURT and UNCARING BUT IT IS THE LAST TIME.CINDY TUBBS

I called to get a quote for getting two kittens fixed. For the first visit I would need to pay $160 EACH cat (okay, that includes vaccines-not the worst...) and then make another appointment after were established clients for the procedures... yall... The receptionist quoted me $620-695 for the female and $420-435 for the male- PLUS $60 for each- for the office visits. That is a ludicrous amount to charge. Ive called every other vet in town and they are ALL hundreds of dollars cheaper. And on top of that the receptionist was rude and seemed put out that I was asking about prices? No thanks!!

Our pets before these we use to bring to see Scott Thompson. We were always very happy with the services and care. The staff and vets we have seen with Ollie and Lucy have been great! We saw the other veterinarian with Ollie for his check up and she was very thorough. We are happy to be back!

I feel comfortable using any of the three vets in the practice. Each one has their individual style or bedside manner if you will, but all are proficient and effective in caring for my dogs. A doctor is one element of the practice; the staff being another.I continue taking my dogs to East Side Animal Hospital due, in part, to the staff. They are a cohesive organized group that, while handling themselves in a professional manner, are equally approachable and friendly. I am very happy with ESAH.

Everyone there is super nice and take great care of animals. We took our two cats in and one is getting better with a shot and eye drops that were given. The other cat was too young for the shot so we were given some chews that will hopefully help. Highly recommend East Side Animal Hospital.

They truly genuinely care about your pets! We had to put down our 14 year old lab because she had a tumor on her spleen. The dr talked to my kids and helped us to explain what was going on. A week after her passing we get a card from the vet! They treat your pets like family, the best out there!!!!

We were able to walk in with our cat, Oliver, without an appointment. We only had to wait for 10-20 minutes at the most before they could take a look at him. We were able to leave him there to get his injured paw checked out while we were able to run our normal morning errands and get the kid to preschool. Then, we get a call two hours earlier than expected that everything is going fine and he is ready to get picked up. Weve been taking our cats here for almost 10 years now, and normally, we make regular appointments, but knowing that we can bring them in to get checked out even without an appointment is really a relief and worked out great for us! My experience has always been from loving and caring people.When it was time for my Angel to cross that Rainbow Bridge they were all there for me. She always received the best of care for her 14 1/2 years with us.Loli cat was born at East Side Animal hospital almost 16 years ago and is a healthy happy senior Kitty now.Cookie was a rescue that joined me about 2 years ago. We couldnt imagine going anywhere else. We consider Dr. T, Bri and Jordan our family and appreciate the amazing care our family members have received for 20 years. There is no better vet or staff. And Dr. Thompson has literally saved our animals lives, ranging from Guinea Pigs to our pit bull. The very best.

I took my dog there once because it was an emergency and my normal vet is too far. Since then, Ive received several phone calls reminding me of appointments I never made and a phone call telling me my dog was due for some shot, even though they have never even seen his shot records. It seems to me like theyre just trying to get money. I could be wrong, but this has been my experience.

Dr Thompson and the staff at East side animal hospital are some of the best people I have ever met. I would recommend them to anyone. They did all they could and went above and beyond for our lion head rabbit Barron and gave us the chance to have a little bit more time with him. Great staff who are passionate about their jobs and compassionate as well.

Im appalled at the terrible service our little dog received this evening. Its been over two hours and he is still bleeding from a blood test. Just went in for rabies shot and now this little guy is bleeding and is all bruised and red from a dang blood draw. Ridiculous, and then they try to charge for things we didnt even have done. Get it together. Worst experience I have encountered from this facility.

I took my precious Buddy there for 14 years before he passed and now I take my adorable little girl Willow (both toy poodles) to see all the great people at ESAH. They treat me and my furbabies like family. Couldnt ask for a better group of people...Love you guys!!!!

I have 2 rabbits I take here and theyve been fantastic. Ive dealt with other vets with other small animals and I would definitely say they seem to be the most knowledgeable out of the places Ive been.

My favorite kitten died 4 days after a $425 visit to them. They didnt vaccinate her or give her meds. This could have been prevented. This place is a sham and I want my kitten and money back . if you guys are a money hungry facility and breaking hearts whilst breaking banks, karma will get each and every one of you involved with this scam

Dr. Thompson, has always taken time form me and been very good at advising me on how to care for my animals. I find Dr Thompson very knowledgeable, considerate and most of all caring. The East Side Animal Hospital Staff also reflects all of Dr Thompsons attributes. I highly recommend East Side Animal Hospital for anyone that truly loves thier Pets!!!

Dr. Stewart called me personally after I sent an email to the info page at EASH. Ive never had a doctor call me back! She talked to me for 10 minutes about my cat, Kirby. Saw him the next day, for a 2nd opinion. Wonderful staff and she is an amazing and caring vet!! She spent 10 minutes with Kirby just petting him and loving him up (he had cancer and I had to put him to sleep 6 weeks after this). I highly recommend Dr. Stewart and staff for vet needs!! The best!!

I took my rabbit Buggs in on a last minute appt, not only did they work my poor sick bunny in between there scheduled calls, but they also did a fantastic job with the treatment. I felt completely comfortable with the staff. they were awesome!!!!! I also had to bring my 4 yr old son and they also did a fantastic job with him. I will always recommend them and we will be using there services from here on out. Its always nice to see a small business with excellent customer service skills in this modern Walmart world!!! My senior boxer, Guinness went in for a dental and his annual bloodwork and vaccines on a Monday. We found out the next day that his liver values were really high and Dr. Stewart was concerned about a potential mass on his liver and she recommended an ultrasound by Dr. Thompson. We did the ultrasound and everything came back normal, which is great, but we still didnt know why his values were so high. Next step was to try antibiotics and treat for infection. Dr. Stewart explained all the medications to us and explained how they worked. We just repeated his labwork this week and everything came back down and is so close to normal! He will be on a lifelong liver medication however, my senior boy is still going strong and is back to being healthy.I cant thank the doctors and staff at ESAH enough. They treat your pets like their own and always offer the best medicine. The doctors always consult with each other and specialists when necessary and it puts my mind at ease.Thank you doctors and staff for all the care and love you provide!

My wife and I have been taking our cats to ESAH starting soon after we moved to Evansville. We have been very impressed with the quality of care, and caring, our family members have received from the whole staff here.They work extra appointments into the schedule when needed for our cats well-being and our peace of mind.Even at the end of the day, when you know they have been working long and hard, the staff does not rush out of the door. With smiles on their faces they still take the time to provide quality care and answer our questions.We found found ESAH when we a had cat in severe respiratory distress soon after we moved here. We had two vet practices tell us because we were not established clients (remember, we had just moved here) they would not see our pet without an appointment even though she was obviously in trouble. The third practice we went to recognized the danger my cat was in and treated her. While we were pleased with the doctor and the care she provided the front office staff was rude and inefficient, and the vet techs were there because it was a job, not because they had any special affinity for animals and working with them.We cannot oversell this practice. It is obvious in dealing with them that they care about our four legged family members - and they care about how important those family members are to us.

I took my cat in back in March to get checked out. She had been sick, vomiting, wasnt eating, not drinking, and she was pregnant. First, I had to spell her name 5 times and they still didnt get it right. Then when I got there, 2 women examined my cat, checked her temp and then told me they would take her back for further examination to make sure the kittens didnt die and were causing an infection. They preformed an ultrasound showing 3-4 kittens who were alive and well. We then went back to the waiting room where the nurse (?) Came in and told us that they gave her a fluid pouch, (in case you dont know what it is, they inject fluid subdermally and it slowly flows into the body) an antibiotic just in case and then as I was signing and paying, tacked on wormer bringing my grand total to $230+. I called back the next day and spoke with a gentleman who set me up another appointment for the next day because whatever they did, didnt work. Needless to say, 2 hours before her appointment, she died, while in labor, taking the kittens with her. I am utterly heartbroken about the situation. The fact that no tests were run to see what the underlying issue was kills me every single day. I am crushed by this experience...

This is the BEST vet office EVER!!!! My husband and I are very proud owners of two very precious weimaraners and we could not be more pleased with the entire staff at ESAH!!! A very good friend of mine had recommended to them to us after we had expressed some concerns with our last veterinary hospital. Im so glad that we decided to call ESAH~ everyone from the person that answered the phone to the office manager and the Drs. are absolutely awesome!!! The place is clean and the staff is exceptional! Dr. Stewart really takes the time to answer your questions and make sure that you are well informed on how to care for your beloved pet. I can not say enough great things about everyone at ESAH~ it is such a great feeling to know that you can leave your pet with great confidence that they are being well cared for. I have not had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Thompson but when Dr. Stewart was on vacation and I had a question regarding my youngest boy he did not hesitate to get on the phone and talk to me. I have sent my mother to ESAH to care for her dog as well and she feels the exact same way as we do. Thank you ESAH for giving us back the confidence in a veterinary office and providing quality care and compassion for our fur babies!!! Remington & Wrigley love you all!!!

ESAH has very nice and personable staff, this was not my problem, but the expenses. After my first appointment with village animal hospital, I paid $60 for a six month supply of Sentinel (heart worm prevention etc) rather than coming in once a month to pay $25-$32 for trifexis which is the same thing essentially. I was not aware there was a cheaper version of the prevention pill until finding a new vet. Along with the cost for spay which we ended up doing at the vanderburgh county spay clinic. I was quoted $300 dollars plus lab work at ESAH while the Spay clinic was 100 for everything plus a microchip. Along with the cost, usually my wife and I waited about 15-30 minutes after our scheduled appointment time until we were brought back for the exam. Great staff just very expensive.
