Tucked in the redwoods, there is a magical grove of old growth apple trees ✨ We felt the magic of Mitchell Grove the moment we arrived and the feeling never left. With the intimacy of a backyard wedding and the beauty of the homestead, we knew we were going to get married here.Even though we had to cancel our wedding celebrations due to COVID-19, I still had to share my experience. Owners, Will and Julie, who were also married in the Grove, are a dream to work with. There is no limit to how many times we could visit before the wedding and we were always greeted with smiling faces (and sometimes a glass of homemade cider ☺️). They worked with us to make our DIY wedding truly ours. When it came to cancelling, it was quick and painless, which I was so thankful for. I highly recommend Mitchell Grove for your wedding or big event. You can even book a separate day to make cider from the apples and serve it at your wedding. Though we are not able to have the day we dreamed of, Will and Julie - thank you for making this experience magical 💕

We absolutely love photographing weddings at Mitchell Grove. The owners are amazing, they keep the grounds in great condition, and are constantly surprising us with fantastic new updates every year! All of our clients rave about how wonderful their experiences have been. 100% recommend this venue to anyone looking to book a wedding in Humboldt County!

Our wedding was held at Mitchell grove July 2019. Our experience with this venue was extremely positive and we really feel that having our wedding at Mitchell Grove is a big piece of what made it so special. We looked at many, many venues in Humboldt County with a few requirements: we could bring our own caterer, we could bring our own alcohol, we could bring our own DJ, and it had beautiful outdoor spaces. Mitchell Grove not only checked all of these boxes but another one that almost no other venue did: BATHROOMS! Nice bathrooms! Multiple! (Seriously, this is not to be underrated). Also, you rent the venue from Friday morning- Sunday afternoon which is so so nice for DIY brides like myself. After weeks of trying to get in contact with various venues, dealing with grouchy venue managers and reading through not-so-generous contracts viewing Mitchell Grove was a breath of fresh air. The owners Will & Julie were extremely quick in their communications and gave us a same day tour. They spent so much time showing us around and answering questions and even offered to save booking our date for a week to give us time to decide. I had originally wanted to have our wedding at Pamplin Grove so that we could be surrounded by nature and the redwoods, and I feel like I missed out on none of that having our wedding at Mitchell Grove. It has big wow factor, and many of our guests were wowed by its beauty as well. Through the year of planning Will & Julie let us come out to the venue a couple of times for planning and were always really gracious and welcoming while we were there. The weekend of the wedding they were helpful, available and did a lot of awesome behind the scenes help. Another awesome thing- they have lots of little extras available- such as chairs, various decorations, arch ways, etc. The weekend of the wedding went smoothly and I was blown away by how beautifully landscaped the entire property was. In the owners words- this is a perfect venue for DIY-ish brides. If you are looking for a beautiful laid back venue but also like maybe arent into pit toilets, Mitchell Grove is awesome. If you are looking at venues in Humboldt County, at least tour Mitchell Grove before making a decision!

Um, its a very nice wedding rental. Nice halls and such. Ex-orchard dont produce so converted to a spot in a forest to hang out. limited parking for 30 cars. And its a petting zoo. look it up its coo.

Abundant apple orchard nestled in a secluded Coastal Redwood Forest setting with new updates to the driveway, grounds and buildings have transformed an already-beautiful wedding venue into a magical one! Congrats to the owners Will and Julie on always striving to be the best!!

Went there for a small wedding. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is wonderful. The road on to the property is gravel and steep. Small cars have trouble going back up the hill when leaving and parking is limited. Other than that its a very lovely property.

Very well manicured apple grove for events and whatnot. Historically relevant to Humboldt and under new ownership that is going a fine job of maintaining its integrity.

I love Planning Weddings at this venue! Will and Julie are great people to work with and make planning events at their Orchard so enjoyable!
