Had an engine machined here, I put it together myself and overall the quality of work seemed accurate and well within all specifications we agreed upon. However, the price we agreed upon had changed to the tune of nearly double. This normally would be of no concern as things change and building anything of less commonality brings up its own issues... that being said, there was little to no communication between the day I dropped this engine off, and the day my bill essentially doubled from what Frank and I had originally discussed. As a younger guy I can understand why this may have taken place, but after working in a shop myself I now understand I may have been taken advantage of slightly. Also noted, I found a relatively large discrepancy in the setup of my engine sent directly to me from the Seme and Sons shop, and I did have to take parts back to have the issues resolved. I was billed for both the checks on these that should have been done before the part was sent to me, as well as the replacement parts needed after I found their mistake, after this I never looked back. So, all in all... I feel the work done was on par with most machine service shops, but communication was lacking and cost of both labor and research seemed pretty chalked up on hours spent. If you’ve got twice the money as what you’re looking to spend, give these guys a call.
Quality staff, and exceptional work!
