The front desk, the swimming coaches and the staff in general are awesome, caring, friendly people. The members in the gym are super friendly. Its the best of San Diego Y,s.Why arent they open yet????My family misses being there :(
I love the Palomar YMCA because it is clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the price is definitely great. They do offer scholarships based on income. My family qualified for one, so I pay a mere $20 per month for 5 people. All of the classes I have tried have been very good. Right now, my favorite is Bender Ball because it is new and different for me. The thing that really makes this YMCA stand out for me is the salt water therapy pool. OMG... I am training for roller derby, and NOTHING gets my sore body to relax like a soak in the therapy pool! Lastly, I have a 10 year old son who comes to this YMCA with me. He loves the classes, swimming, and the workout room. There are many machines that he is able to use. There has been an upgrade recently. Many new machines and features have been added at this facility. I cant wait to go today to try them out. There are also many incentives to come work out or just relax, and free training in additional to the staff always available to help. Gosh, so many great reasons to come to this YMCA... Free days for people to come try it out ..
Love it, a great place to workout, a friendly staff specially at kids watch or Gymnastic. I take my daughter to Gymnastic and she loves going. YMCA has helped me on every way, i really appreciated. I been a member for less than 6 months and im really happy.
I love their child watch. The staff there is the sweetest and my kids love going there. The facility itself is old but very clean and well maintained. I go to the gym, group exercise classes and pool and have no complaints.
I called the Palomar YMCA today to make a payment over the phone for my sons summer camp in July. I called three times. The first two times, the employees didn’t know how to take a payment over the phone. I was waiting for a manager to call me back. They never did, so I called a third time. A friendly young woman named Eunice answered. She took my payment with no problems, she was professional, kind and polite. She knew deadlines for payments etc. I was going to cancel until I spoke with her. From now on, when I call, I’m asking for Eunice. Because she gets the job done.
I love spending time at the group classes and the gym. No judgment zone💯
Just signed my daughter up for gymnastics class. The teacher didn’t want to be there and she was pretty rude. My daughter is 3 and has never done gymnastics. She kept telling her to do things that she’s never heard of. Telling her that “if you don’t do it you’ll have to go sit with mommy” there was no instruction. She had no idea how to do tumble.. I thought that’s what they taught in the class. Not expecting your child to know how to do everything at barely 3 years old?? There was no grace either. She just acted like my daughter was this huge burden when she just needed instruction. To learn. After all that’s why she’s there... pretty disappointed. We will try again. Hoping the next time it’ll be a different gal. 😔
My granddaughter visits and we started going to the Y for gymnastics. She was not happy the last 2 classes because the teacher couldnt be there and she didnt like the sub. It is a little pricey per class...but continued because my granddaughter liked it.
My child went to the summer Scholars program. And he is autistic which the school notified them of. I got a phone call the first day telling me that I need to come pick him up from the after-school program and he could not attend it any longer. I got a phone call the second day telling me I needed to come pick him up and he cant stay past noon. The fact that the YMCA was not willing to work with this child is ridiculous to me. They know his problems and they still took him on and then just threw him out because they didnt want to deal with it. Thanks for not trying to help this child succeed. Oh and when I came to pick him up I was overlooked by staff.
Nice place but people working there have no idea what is going on . They cant answer your questions
Front desk people are duplicitous and ignorant of policy. Also, the place smells funky and has poor climate control, which is important in this climate-conscience world of ours. Attendants are aggressive. Would give 0 stars if Google wasnt promoting Star Inflation, but they are.
Great place for family engagement and healthy living. Staff are great and helping friendly and inviting.
As non profit they should charge less to members. I think its expensive. Plus they say they are Christians however Christmas time I visited some YMCA in California and was not any Nativity or Christian decoration only Christmas tree. Why they did not included the Nativity decoration? I think was a little hypocritical.
Love that they have childcare while you work out and great pump classes!
Its an ok place, aquatics section needs to improve their scheduling and the pee wee soccer needs to get reliable coaches.
Its a good place, but not a good neighborhood. Theyre camps are kind of expensive (about $250+) and its mostly high school & college students watching over the kids.
Its awesome. Friendly staff. Always air conditioned.
New equipment they keep it clean and the staff is helpful.
Best exercise place. Water aerobics are fun.
YMCA is always the best!! No matter what city you go to!! We love it!!! The staff is very professional and friendly!!

Pretty clean, good service, them seem to always mess up with accounting.
Great place to workout with the family
Your rule 5 - lockers will emptied each day. Lockers 155, 174, 175, and 180 has locks been on them for several months. Mens locker shower curtains a mess - need replaced. Insects (ants, etc)All this after a price increase - go figure.
Doesnt have as much class, or child activities as other Ys
We love it.
