The manager of this hospital is absolutely rude, if you want your records you have to pay for them cause she’s not gonna take time out of her day to send your records. Whenever your getting paid by the hour and it’s part of your job to have to send records sometimes you send them. You don’t charge some one for your time when your getting paid to do the things customers ask for. I work at an animal hospital and we don’t charge people on the side because that’s part of the job your getting paid for!!!! Would never recommend these people absolutely rude!
I just got off the phone with their receptionist and I have to say I’m really shocked by the lack of initiative and willingness to help a customer. I called up to simply ask for them to forward my dogs vaccination records because I had moved farther from Ennis. I get told that “we are short staffed so I’m not even going to bother to look for them, I don’t even know if we have them at all”. Just plain rude. She said it takes too much time to send an email of the records so I would have to drive to the office and pay a fee to have them printed. Just no desire to help a customer at all. Really disappointed.
They are okay, but would be a lot better if they were more organized and professional overall. I called to try and make an appointment and was just given out random times to come by. We agreed upon 9-9:30 on Saturday, but it still took nearly an hour to get seen. I am convinced they dont really honor appointments and they just treat everyone like a walk-in.I believe Dr. Weaver is competent, but he lacks any kind of friendliness whatsoever. He took my dog to the back with me, barely spoke to me, and just started injecting my dog with needles. Usually vets explain the vaccinations before they just start sticking the animals. He also did not check my dogs temp, heartbeat, breathing, or anything. I think he only checked his teeth because he had to administer one of the vaccines orally. My dog is 11 years old. I dont think its good to just skip standard procedures even if hes not sick.No one is ever at the front when you walk in a despite having some kind of alarm system that goes off whenever you open the front door, you have to ring a bell to get them to emerge from the back or you will be standing there forever. Overall, just not very professional or particularly nice. Also, supposedly they close at noon on Saturdays, but I tried to come back to ask a question about my dogs medication and they were already locked up and getting ready to leave by 11:20. So I guess dont try to come up within 60 minutes of when they close, not even to ask a question.I can see why the crowd is always at the other vet clinic right off of I-45. Unless your pet needs to be seen for a sudden injury/illness, I wouldnt recommend this vet. My dog had an infected dewclaw a few months ago and they were able to help him quickly and effectively, which is why I came back but after this last visit, I will continue to drive the nearly 2 hours to take my dog to his normal vet. Was hoping to find someone more local, but Ill just stick to my old vet
My 7 year old yorkie was sick and I was really worried about him. They gave me a same day appointment, got him some meds and had him feeling better in no time. Im so thankful they were able to get us in so quickly.
Love Dr Weaver... Been Taking my animals there for 20 years!!
Best animal clinic in Ennis. Dr. Weaver and his staff truly care for the health and safety of our fur babies. Very knowledgeable and kind. ❤️
Dr. Weaver is amazing! Very fair prices and great quality care!
Ive been in Texas for eight years and tried a lot of vets in the DFW. Its sad to say most vets around Duncanville are all about how much Money they can get out of you. But i have found the perfect vet for my dogs i dont even mind the 35 miles drive.
My sister took her 12 week old puppy up to this vet and the vets wife not even the vet himself was very very rude to her and talking down on her because she only had $200 available and the woman said she needed $600 just to have him seen or she basically needed to go elsewhere.
I took my dog here for the first time this morning. He has a wound on his leg that won’t close and keeps bleeding. I called ahead and the y said they were very busy, but could take him if I dropped him off and Dr. Weaver could work on him in between patients. They were both so nice and caring for my dog.I will update when I get him back, but I was freaking out this morning and the wonderful lady at the front desk helped calm me down and assured me that my Max was in good hands. I am just so grateful for this animal hospital and the people that work there. Thank y’all so much.
I recomend the bravecto flee pill. Gave it to the dogs around 12 pm and later that night there was no sign of flees. 90 day supply was worth it.
Dr Weaver is the best. Our animals are very calm with him and our appointments are fast and easy. We always bring our pets here.
Dr Weaver is devoted and caring. He always goes the extra mile to care for my pets. He’s honest about care needed but also very practical. Don’t expect hi-tech but do expect a caring, wise vet!
I had the privilege of working with Dr. Weaver and Karen when he had his clinic by himself. They taught me so many things and all before a person had to be certified. I will be forever in your debt Doc and Karen !! I found this because Im trying to leave a 29 year career of Nursing and do something different. Kathy Lampp Much Love and Respect forever !!!
The lady he has working in his front office is very rude. I was taking me dog here for 3 years or so, but not anymore.
My basset hound was in need of a miracle and Dr. Weaver sure delivered!! He is the best vet around!!!
Took excellent care of my dog at a reasonable price.
Always takes care of my pets needs....nursed my baby back from being very sick.... Reasonable and genuinely cares. Love my Dr Weaver.
Rushed our new puppy to the closest vet and it so happened to be here!Honestly, didn’t know what to expect but taking Jace to Dr. Weaver was the best decision we ever made. Dr. Weaver was great with Jace and does anything he can to give animals a fighting chance. He was professional, compassionate, and capable. He went out of his way for Jace! We went in for several consecutive days for Jace’s IV drip and the vet was completely understanding and helpful.Jace loves going to the vet and adores Dr. Weaver!I highly recommend bringing your fur baby here for any and all treatment! + the screen in the waiting room has some seriously hilarious stuff!
We came to this vet for an emergency situation which is already stressful and every step of the process with them was additional stress. They didnt call us when our dog got out of surgery to give us an update or even the next day. We had to initiate the communication and still couldnt reach them for 2 days because they were closed (even their emergency line went to voicemail). They didnt give us a cone to prevent itching so we had to go to our regular vet the day after we got her back because she got stitches out, not their fault she did that. Our regular vet then pointed out she was on double the amount of pain medication than necessary which can damage her kidneys severely. They also pointed out that during surgery the dead tissue wasnt removed for stitches would continue to come out easily from the dead skin slipping off. To close off the wound she would have to be sedated a second time because staples would slip off from the dead tissue. They also had several technical difficulties in the payment process. We were over charged because they forgot to include our deposit in the final costs. They were nice enough to issue a refund, but it was a long process with computer errors galore.Overall, the experience couldve been far worse. Im thankful my pup is okay, but obvious mistakes were made that made this process longer and more stressful than it needed to be.
Dr. Weaver takes great care of our animals. Easy to get ahold of and works with your busy schedule to make sure your pets can get in timely.
Dr Weaver has taken care of us and our animals for many years. He has always treated both us humans and our pets with the equal amount of care and feeling.
I take all my animals here and they do a great job.
This the 3time come to he office he so nice I well thanyou for everything
Dr. Weaver is amazing. He is a man that does his job well and does it for his love of animals. He is a compassionate man. He is the type of vet that wants your pet to be healthy and treats what the animals need not a bunch of unnecessary procedures or tests just to get in your pockets. The office staff are just as awesome. Everyone in the office are good hearted loving people. They are by far the best!!! I am so thankful for the help they have little miss sadie mae. And even with all the craziness of the non stop calls from dozens of people calling to check on her. They are just great folks!
This was the worst Veterinary i have ever experienced. Dr. Weaver gave my dog shots and would not provide information for the medications that he was injecting my dog with. Past Doctors have always made a point to inform me on the treatment before it was administered to the animal. He made sure on the bill to charge for it, but it’s funny that he gave my wife the credit card bill receipt but no itemized receipt. We brought my dog twice and she got tested for parvo, but the test came back negative. My dog was 75 pounds before she got sick now she is frail ( skin and bones). When my wife made it home my dog was throwing up blood. Weaver was unable to find the any issues with the dog; but the throwing up blood must be a symptom of something. We spent a total of $800, but with Weaver and now my Wife is headed Mannsfeild animal hospital for a second opinion. My wife asked him would the shots and IV help my dog and his response was,” i don’t know. The dog would either live or die.” I really think that comment wasn’t professional and it made him sound incompetent. I feel that Weaver saw a women with her sick dog and didn’t care about saving the dog, but saw a chance to make extra money on my wife because it was after closing time. Since he had to stay late, he would make his time for about $440 bucks. I don’t recommend bring a Snail to the this place. The doctor seems to be behind on proficiencies, lacking, and unable to properly care for animals
Dr. Stephen C. Weaver is the most compassionate, practical veterinarian I have ever known. We have 9 pets and frequently foster cats and dogs. Dr. Weaver has dropped everything to help us more than once, and always provides no-nonsense, honest answers to all questions. Hes kind, funny, and thorough. What I appreciate about him the most is that he doesnt throw spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks when treating our animals. His practice is rooted in sound, well-researched advice. I have never valued or trusted a veterinarian as much as I have Dr. Weaver and I cannot recommend him more highly. He never price gouges, and always charges a fair rate without extravagant markup. He never recommends unnecessary labs or treatments. Here are just a few of the things hes done for us over the years:- Patiently listens to my panicked phone calls when I think somethings wrong with one of my furbabies and always talks me off the ledge.- Rearranges his schedule to let us be walk-ins or drop-offs when something goes wrong (or when Im just worried something is wrong!)- Mailed me a handwritten note with a veterinary journal article attached to help me better understand canine cardiomyopathy to put my fears at ease. I had freaked out over the recent food recalls and he wanted to make sure I understood what the studies meant and when to be concerned.- Operated on my seriously injured dog Maddie for over three hours after 5pm to close multiple punctures and lacerations after she was attacked by another dog. He let my entire family (and we are loud, high-strung people, all of whom love this dog to death) assist in the OR and stay there with her while he worked. He then spent over four days treating her and even allowed me to treat and dress her wounds which meant the world to me and helped me feel so much less upset about her condition. He actually spent the night up there when she was most critical and even came in a Sunday to treat her. I will never forget the lengths he went to on Maddies behalf, and I cant think of another vet that would care as much about both patients and owners the way he does.- DROPPED EVERYTHING on EASTER WEEKEND to help us treat a dog we found on the side of the road in Ferris who had been used as a breeder and dragged behind a truck, then dumped in front of someones house. (Shes at a rescue and has an adoption application!)- Helped us treat a litter of four week old abandoned kittens for pink eye and upper respiratory infection without an appointment, compassionately removing eye crud from the worst one and answering all our questions about how to care for young ones. (They all have homes and are fat and happy cats now!)- Completely de-crudded a really gnarly ear mite infection from several of our pet rabbits. Anyone who has kept rabbits knows theyre super difficult to hold on to when they dont want to be held, and their infections were all super gross.- Comes in person to assist various animals in crossing the rainbow bridge and does so in a kind, respectful manner that helps the family process the grief and releases the animal with dignity. If you need a good vet, look no further than Animal Hospital of Ennis. I have been to vets all over Dallas and Arlington, and Dr. Weaver is the only vet Ive ever been to who doesnt b.s you and doesnt do unnecessarily invasive treatments that do nothing but stress the animal out. Hes so intelligent and kind, and I cannot thank him enough for all hes done for us.
My English Bulldog had intestinal blockage and needed emergency surgery and Dr Weaver did absolutely amazing 2 weeks habe passed and he is back at 85 percent of his weight but 100 percent healthy and roaring !!!
Doc weaver rules. He has helped every animal we have brought in. Most knowledgeable vet Ive ever taken my animals to.
DONT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE OVERCHARGED!! WORST VET EXPERIENCE!!There was no one in the front office waited a few minutes and then rang the bell someone yelled from the back and rudly said it would be a minute... Nearly 30min later the vet came to the waiting area and LOOKED at my dog said it was something that would heal on its own just continue to clean it at home. Took less than a minute and it was obvious he showed no concern at all! I then asked about a rabies shot since I was already there and his was due, he said it would cost $15.... The vet was fairly rude and acted as if us being there was more of a neusance than anything.DID NOTHING BUT LOOK AT MY DOG IN THE WAITING AREA (didnt clean the wound, nothing) AND GIVE A RABIES VACCINE but charged $67 ...when asked what a typical visit for a rabies shot normally is (SINCE TECHNICALLY THAT WAS THE ONLY SERVICE RENDERED) its only $15 but bc I called about a wound that was only addressed by briefly taking a look and in no way treated I was charged for an exam fee...
Dr. Weaver is a true vet that assess thoroughly and cares about your pets!
Reasonable prices and the vet is super nice
I needed to get my Old English Bulldog seen ASAP. I TRIED TO GET HER IN TO THE VET OFFICES WE HAVE USED SINCE 1995 but they refused to see her until Monday. I called Dr. Weaver’s office snd was told to bring her in and I did. He did a very through exam. He took care of our needs and the price was super reasonable!!! I will be transfering my dog’s records to this office. I HIGHLY recommend him!!!
