I visited Kristen for a Brazilian wax several weeks ago, and have been debating this entire time whether or not to write a review. However, upon the advice of multiple friends and family members whove heard my experience, Ive decided its best to share in order to enlighten others.This is my first wax experience ever, and I nervously did my research in order to make this process as painless as possible. I found Bare by Kristen on Google, and her reviews were sparkling. I booked my appointment and when I arrived to her studio, I informed her that this is my first time ever waxing and am understandably nervous. Kristen was distracted the entire time I was there. She was on her phone shopping on Amazon and even laid the phone on my belly while scrolling through Amazons products. To say I was flabbergasted would be an understatement. She knew it was my first time and gave no instruction or warning as to what she was going to do. No warnings were given for ANY of the strip peels, and to say I was in agony is barely scratching the surface. Not knowing when she was going to peel added to my panic. Kristen was also on the speaker phone with her mother while she working on me, and during a particularly excruciating peel-back, I let out a yelp. Kristen hushed me....she literally went Shhhhh!. As if I was disturbing her. I was speechless. Once it was over, Kristen unceremoniously grabbed my elbow to flip me over to a seated position and pushed me off the table. I didnt even know she was done, but if she had just told me, I would have gotten off the table myself rather than be evicted like that. This was so abrupt, I didnt even get the chance to take a look at the finished product. I just wanted to leave and get out of her hair. I tipped her and left, but she was back to focusing her attention on her phone. When I got home, I could see patches of hair she had missed and that it wasnt a thorough job. I really wanted to like her service. I would have loyally gone back since I want to support small businesses rather than chains, but this was traumatizing.

I was a first timer and she made it entirely comfortable, way less painful then I had envisioned, and the results are amazing - so happy with experience and planning to make it my recurring routine - SHES A PRO!!!!! ❤ site was super clean, vibe was relaxed and process was fast - post care suggestions all 100% on point!!!! How would I describe BARE by Kristen??? Lets start with amazing, professional, phenomenal, quick, communicative, honest, and overall the best at waxing! I received a Brazilian wax and under arms wax from Kristen and yall, please do not sleep on this woman and her business! She provided excellent service under 15 minutes and she was very informative on how the process would go too! Kristen, if you are reading this: THANK YOU! This amazing woman had me ready for my girls trip! My skin felt great and smooth after she was done! Also this was my first Brazilian wax and she just made the whole experience so quick and efficient. She made me feel comfortable and distracted from the minor pain (personally I dont do well with pain and she still made it very easy to deal with by just having a nice conversation with me and giving me a heads up to take a breath). I have been here almost 2 weeks ago. My experience was that Kristen was amazing. I did a Brazilian waxing for childbirth. It took only within 15 minutes. She was very quick and made me feel comfortable. Because of pregnancy, she also recommended to use a scrub sponge instead of a scrub cream. No ingrown hair, itching, burning at all. I will definitely recommend to my friends 😊

Kristen was absolutely amazing! She responded to my initial inquiry extremely fast and was awesome about being flexible with my hectic schedule. Kristen was amazing! From the very first time I called to make the appointment, Kristen made me feel welcome and right at home. Not only it was my first time getting this service, but as a male client I was particularly apprehensive about it. I did the “full wax” service including my back. Kristen promised that she would take good care of me and she did! She made me feel comfortable from the minute I walked in. Beyond that- and obviously equally important- Kristen knows her craft amazingly! She was super fast, efficient, and she simply made the whole process enjoyable. No pain . No rash ! Just smooth skin. Throughout the whole time Kristen answered all my questions without making me feel goofy, which I really appreciated.After the treatment, she sent me a full skin care regimen on how to take care of my skin during the following days. It was wonderfully detailed, with step-by-step action items and even links to where to get creams and suggested equipment (skin scrub brushes and such) . Really helpful stuff.In the evening of the day of my treatment, I got a follow up call from Kristen to check on me and see how I was feeling. I don’t think I get that from my doctor.All in all if you are considering getting any kind of skin service that Kristen provides, just don’t think any more. You found the right person. She’s great ! Now just go and enjoy!!

My first wax was this week and I was recommended Bare by Kristen by a friend and coworker. I had an amazing experience. I was nervous since it was my first time and Kristen made me feel so comfortable and had me laughing me the whole time! Did not hurt as much as I thought, her technique was great & I had no soreness at all! She saw me right away and was done quickly as well. Definitely recommend her! 10/10.

I saw that Kristen had hundreds of 5-Star reviews and read several reviews from both men and women. Kristen definitely lived up to the great reviews she received.I was thinking about getting waxed for a while, but I’ve either never got around to it or I was afraid of the possible pain. However, now that I visited Kristen, I wish I had done so sooner.She made me feel very comfortable during the session and was extremely polite and pleasant. She was quick, very professional, and was very thorough. Once or twice, maybe there was minimal discomfort, but by no means was it painful. The end result was excellent.Kristen also responded to my initial reservation inquiry right away and walked me through the whole process clearly and concisely. She even followed up to see how I was doing after our appointment, which which was very nice of her. I wasn’t expecting that, but by going the extra mile the way she did, this just further shows why she receives the great reviews she does and why people travel very far just to see her.Finally, even though she didn’t have to, she insisted on “making things right” when she had to cancel our appointment last minute do to an unexpected emergency on her end. She let me know about it and while told her I understood and not to worry about it, she discounted my session “for any trouble the cancelation caused me”. Again, I understood things happen, and she had a legitimate emergency to attend to, but Kristen nevertheless was still very concerned with making things right and she certainly did so.I will definitely use her again and I recommend her highly! I don’t do many reviews for people online, but I made the exception for Kristen because she was fantastic!Thanks again, Kristen!

So I’m new to NJ and have been struggling to find someone comparable to my previous waxer in GA. I’ve found her! Kristen is not only funny and personable but she indeed leaves you BARE! I love it! Even her studio is amazing! Smells good, clean and beautifully decorated.

I had a very painful experience at another establishment for my first Brazilian wax. For my second time around I decided to try Kristen as I had heard great things. Her establishment was extremely clean and organized. She was very professional and did a wonderful job. The pain was minimal and to top it off I received a follow up message the day after from her to ask how I was doing which I found to be wonderful customer service. She then emailed me a detailed list of products to care for my waxed area which even included an easy Amazon list for me to quickly get all the products she recommended. After a couple of days using the products as directed I can definitely see a difference from my previous experience at a different establishment. I will certainly use her services next time!

Great place to get waxed, I’ve had my services done by Kristen in both the Fort Lee and Englewood locations. Very nice and quick with her job. Her place has a great atmosphere and she made me feel comfortable while getting waxed. The best part is that she doesn’t use baby powder which is a big no-no for me, and she follows up with you to help maintain baby smooth skin.

Kristen is a real professional. She does excellent work for a fair price. I’ve been to other chain waxing salons and you never know who you’re going to be working with or how experienced they are. I will never go to anyone else every again after going to Kristen. Her technique is literally nearly painless. A lot of people say that about most places but I actually mean it. I had my first Bikini Wax at Bare by Kristen and she was awesome! The wax was done so fast by the time you blinked it was over! Wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be. Good:Efficient, quick, with clean and tasteful establishment.Why only 2 stars?I should preface this by saying I have very delicate skin down there and have been easily burned by many wax places over the years; European wax center, nails salons (big mistake), and a highly rated Brazilian spot in Astoria. This is why I am extremely choosy about places I will try for a wax. I recently moved and now my tried and true spot in the city would be a huge hassle to get to, so after reading so many glowing reviews, I decided to try Bare by Kristen.Before we started I asked her if she ever waxes the same spot over twice because Ive been burned that way before as my skin there on the sides burns really easily. She said no she doesnt, but she did in some places. I told her that I felt like I was getting burned when she did the right side. She said no, youre just bruised which is caused by being waxed too close to having your period. This perhaps could be true but I have been waxed many times in the past right before my period by Shobha and while Id say it does cause more pain during the experience than normal, I have never been burned nor bruised at all when I left there.As of now, about 7 hours since my appt with Kristen, I have significant bruising and am burned (the severity of a bad sunburn) on the right inner leg crease. The rest of me is fine and feels normal. Again, if you dont have these issues with other wax places and your skin is not super thin, Im sure youd be really pleased with her work. For me though the experience was not good.

Amazing service! I came to bare by Kristen for my first wax and I have to say there couldn’t have been a better spot. She is very quick, whole process took a total of 8 minutes. Very gentle on the skin, I had no bruising or tears on my skin. She is also extremely informative on aftercare and provides you with detailed instructions and shopping list for any products you might need to prevent ingrown hairs and help heal the skin. Overall I had a fantastic experience, never once felt uncomfortable or confused. She is a very talented, skilled, and down to earth wax specialist. I will continue to come here for all my future wax appointments.

During my service she used different kinds waxes according to the sensitivity of each area (this also aided significantly in making the wax less painful !!) . Waxing services- Let me first say that I am a virgin at waxing 🙋🏽‍♀️ and I traveled all the way from Queens. I was referred to Bare by Kristen by my best friend and even she was in disbelief with her experience with Kristen lol. Scheduling was a breeze and she was kind enough to answer my waxing virgin questions lol. Let’s talk about the ambiance 😱. When you enter her waxing studio, you will be in awe as it is beautifully and artistically eclectic and huge (shoes off at the door please and thank you). Then you enter the waxing area which is brightly lit with more beautiful art on the wall. I am not sure if it is intentional but Kristen talked to me through the entire session (pure genius Kristen 🙌🏽). The ONLY discomfort I experienced was the initial shock of the 1st removal of the wax because I didn’t know what to expect lol...after that it was all good. I like it there and I will be there every 4 weeks 🤗.

I’m pregnant and have been in search of a highly recommended esthetician for a Brazilian wax during the pandemic. I read the reviews and made an appt, and she lived up to the reviews. She was on time, everything was clean, I felt comfortable, and gave a lot of after care information and moved quickly and as painlessly as possible. She prefers not to wear a mask for her own personal reasons so if that is an issue be mindful of that. But I was masked up and felt comfortable.

It was my first time getting a wax and I was so scared but she made sure I was comfortable. I almost forgot I was getting a wax because she was conversing with me. It was so quick and barley painful! Highly recommend.

My first time there today. It would not do Kristen justice if I didn’t comment on the waxing. From the time I walked in she was very vibrant energetic and very professional. She always had a smile on her face and we had a great conversation really about nothing but it was meaningful.
