I am very thankful for this place. Over two years ago I adopted a brindle male APBT from here and he has been through everything with me ever since. He was a little weird when I met him and he seemed like he was confused. The second I got him in my truck he opened up and has been the most affectionate dog in the world ever since. Great with strangers and kids, and he even has a new best friend. Thank you to the staff. If you are able to adopt, it is always a good option!

I found this kennel to be very clean and in proper order. The staff was very helpful and really seemed genuinely interested in helping me find the right dog for me. I explained to the staff what I was looking for and they were very forthcoming about the temperament of the dogs currently in their care. I was the owner/operator of Animal Inn Boarding/Grooming in Morganton, NC and the manager of the Best Friends Pet Hotel in Pineville, NC and I can tell you that while these dogs are here they are being well cared for.

Wonderful kennel run by volunteers helping place dogs in their furever homes.

Came here to find a puppy, and the staff was amazing, from the employees to the volunteers. The facilities were clean and spacious compared to other rescues Ive been to, and there was zero pressure to get a dog. 1000000/10 would recommend this place to friends and family

I had a wonderful experience everyone is so helpful and nice.

The back kennel area smelled clean & sanitized. Truly NOT an easy task to maintain. Staff was helpful. The county needs to upgrade to at credit card system for adoptions.

After dealing with people trying to rip us off on Craigslist and friends of friends falling through on promises of puppies for sale. We decided to go to this kennel.Thier application is a simple one. It consists of a single page document that doesnt require 3 professional references, credit check, vet references, home inspection, building manager/ land lord contact number and an absolute invasion of privacy. +⭐They made sure the animal in question did not have aggressive tendencies towards other animals. If the animal we were looking at did, they warned us. The dog we got is absolutely adorable and so friendly! It was the best choice that we could have made! +⭐They do not have enough stars, LCDK, I really mean it. Best dog ever!!

Inasmuch as you can love the dog pound, I think this one seems really well-run. As others have mentioned, its clean, doesnt smell, theres a calm and personable receptionist behind the desk, someone was coming in to adopt, which was a good thing, and they accepted my donations with appreciation. I could hear dogs barking but they didnt sound terrified, in pain or, I dont know, in undue distress. I did not dare go into the back for fear of coming out with six dogs under each arm. And praising this facility does not mean that I dont wish they didnt have to exist, because one thing I was told before I arrived was that someone had just brought in a litter of German Shepherd puppies found abandoned. Yeah. Since they do have to exist, they seem to be making the very best of it.

Adopted Tonto (Cage #2 at the time) he’s a wonderful dog!! Adjusting in well with us and very loving! When we adopted Tonto, the staff was great and so helpful! I would highly recommend adopting from Lorain County Kennel. Adoption cost is cheap as well! Thanks again Lorain County Kennel for helping us find Tonto!! We love him!

4 yrs ago in June, my boyfriend and I adopted the best girl from there. When we arrived to adopt her we were informed that she is aggressive. When she entered the meet and greet area she was scared and very skinny. The staff member was amazed when she wanted a belly rub from my boyfriend. She is now the most amazing, sweetest girl ever with the a very sweet kitten little brother.

Dog was there for 2 days well taken care of. I understand there was a front desk person and she was busy with a call, but at least three other employees came and spoke with me. not one offered to get any paperwork for me to start while the other person was busy. Clean interior and friendly staff

No prices have to sigh in for no reason terrible service and staff will never go back. A damn shame because the family really wanted one of there dogs to. Extremely unfair to the animals.

As many times as I called asking g questions, not one person ever told me you have to get a ticket a get pooled from a drawing in order to get the dog. I driven an hour to leave with nothing. You should tell people that.

I wouldnt trade this place for the world. Nice people I just dont wanna put my dog there if I cant come back and get her. If I was in a bad situation then I would like to have my dog adopted if I could come an get her him back.

Kind staff. Clean. Small. Not many pets to choose from. 5 or 6. Not worth the 2 hour drive. Wont be returning. 👎

For the most part its ok but a couple times the dog warden showed his dislike for a few dogs. Mine was one. Its best to keep professional at all times

Just adopted a dog from here last month,shes very ill from the dogs that were sick in there,she has kennel cough,and the list goes on.....ADOPT SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT DOESNT CHARGE YOU TO HAVE SHOTS,ETC..... VERY 🤬🤬🤬😠😠😡😡 THAT they wont even return my phone call, or the vet that SPAYED her! Bet the news stations will love this story!!!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬

The dogs are all diffrent sizes and kind i took my little ones there for a field trip the staff was very friendly and taking really good care of the dogs

They have a large selection of dogs, typically large breed dogs, pits, pit mixes, sometimes you can get a husky or lab. The staff here is very friendly, they offer a lot of advice, and are super upfront with their knowledge of the dogs and of they believe they will be a good fit for you and your family.

WARNING!!! Be careful with adopting a pet here. Staff do not supervise interactions with dogs and your safety is at risk! When adopting here the staff do not give a full background history of animals. Multiple children have been injured because of negligence by the staff and there is a LAWSUIT PENDING

They take such good care of the dogs. There have been no dogs euthanized because of space.

They take very good care of the dogs there. I rescued my girl Nakita from there a few years ago.

The dog we actually went to meet (after calling and asking several questions) was severely malnourished, disgustingly dirty and other dog aggressive and it was obvious the staff knew that before they brought him out. We did adopte a different dog from this place. Once we brought him home we found that he not only had kennel cough but also ear mites.

A lot of pretty dogs however the rescues always get chosen to take all the purebreds instead of a loving family’s that would give the dog a great home meanwhile rescues get these dogs for the small fee and turn around and sell for 400+

This is the worst people I have ever dealt with.we WERE there Friday and we saw a dog that we want.They said its not available until 15 of May .We reconfirm it before we left.This morning called to make sure no one clamed it.They said oh its today. Left to go get it because if we would have been told the truth we would have been there at opening time, and buy the time we get there it its ALREADY ADOPTED Lady finishing papper work. Confronted the lady who said it was not adoptable until tomorrow ., SAID OH WELL HUMAN err.NO INSIDE LYING FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO GET IT.
