Fifi is AMAZING! I purchased my wedding dress at a different bridal studio and when it arrived, they had ordered the wrong size. My dress was 2 sizes too big. When I brought it to Fifi I was nervous because it was an expensive dress that required a lot of intricate alterations. Fifi was able to magically alter the dress to fit me perfectly. Fifi is fabulous. Her history, well she learned how to sew literally as a child…men’s suits we were told when inquiring as to her expertise. It shows in her knowledge and workmanship. Before my daughter’s wedding was over she altered my daughter’s Couture Martina Liana gown, my wife’s Mac Dougal gown and my three piece suit. All were flawless. As we all know weddings in general are stressful but Fifi together with her daughter Amanda set our worries at ease…did several fittings, pressed the gowns for my daughter and wife and all were ready for pickup in time for the big event with a professional yet personal touch. After many hours searching for a trusted business who could take the time and alter a dress that means the world to me I found Fifi and her amazing team. I lost my mother 11 years ago and when it came time to marry the man I was ment to spend the rest of my life with I knew I had to wear my mothers wedding dress. Only issue my body was not identical. Fifi was a complete nightmare to work and communicate with from the very beginning. She asked for a credit card on account and for a deposit and then charged the full amount. The wedding was postponed due to covid and she refused to return the dress for over a year. The dress fittings included argument with what the bride wanted and an apparent inability to remember what had been discussed previously. The dress wasnt ready until less than a week before the wedding- and it wasnt clean or pressed. The bride left every fitting in tears. Buyer beware!

If it was not for Fifi I would have never gotten the dress of my dreams. It was really interesting because I was at first reluctant to even try on my dress because I was 3 months post pregnancy and I was convinced it was not going to let good. Fifi is very good at what she does and could tell my body type and figure regardless of having just had a child. She convinced me to try it on and it was MY dress. (Every bride understands what that means.) While the dress was gorgeous I did request some additions to be made with some blue applique flowers and Fifi was happy to do it for me. She was so great throughout the entire process and I would not have been such a beautiful bride in the perfect dress without her. I would definitely stop to see her and talk to her when looking for that perfect aw inspiring dress for your wedding day. You cannot get any better care and attention than from Fifi. She loves what she does and she is amazing.

I cannot say enough about Fifi’s Bridal & Custom Tailoring! I came to Fifi about a year ago with my 1960’s wedding dress, worn by both my mother and my grandmother. It was so important to me to wear this gown on my big day, but the gown badly needed alterations and cleaning. First, Fifi had the dress cleaned. The dress was an aged yellow color to begin with (my mom actually never properly preserved it) and when it came back, it was a beautiful shade of ivory. She then took off the sleeves per my request, updated the lace, and tailored it beautifully to fit my frame. Fifi took my dreams for my wedding dress and turned them into a reality, and the dress turned out better than I could have ever imagined! It both had both the history and meaning of my mother and grandmother wearing it, and the uniqueness of being MY wedding dress. By far the best place to go for your wedding. Ive been to 3 different stores before this, and none compare. Fifi is an absolute treasure, and you can tell she truly loves people. She works so hard to make you happy and welcomes people in as if theyre old friends. Make sure to stop by, meeting Fifi has easily been one of the best parts of my wedding planning experience. The store itself is charming and filled with the most gorgeous dresses. There are lovely seating areas for your bridal party, complete with 3 pedestals to stand on and see the gown from all angles. Fifi is a Godsend. The customized dress that I purchased from a different shop arrived 2 weeks before the wedding in awful shape and was not customized to me at all. In a panic, I found Fifi’s shop, and she immediately began to brainstorm as to how she can fix my dress. She considered my dress high priority and within 2 days, she had the majority of the problem completely fixed. Her team continued to work on my dress tirelessly over the next week without any hesitation. She is a wedding dress saver, and I felt so taken care of. She made me feel like my dress was of the utmost importance to her, and that speaks volumes of her business model and the way she treats all of her clients. I could not have had as beautiful of a dress if it were not for Fifi and her team!!! They are so prompt, so professional, and they are amazing problem solvers!! My friend and I went to 4 different stores looking for the perfect wedding dress. Fifis by FAR was the best customer service we received all day. Fifi is unbelievably kind, warm, and friendly. She makes you feel like family from the moment you step foot in the shop, and her top priority is making the bride feel happy. Thank you Fifi for your amazing hospitality! And cant wait for the final product!

I came to Fifi to get my dress altered for my wedding. During the initial appointment, she was VERY pushy and kept trying to get me to agree to all these things I didnt want- such as professional steaming. I told her NO multiple times. Flash forward a couple months and now its time for my final fitting. Well, my wedding has been postponed due to COVID, and I dont feel comfortable seeing her for an appointment. I ask if we can reschedule the fitting for next year (when the wedding is rescheduled) or if she can cancel the final fitting and offer some kind of refund. She refuses. Fine. I pay the full price for less than what I got. I come pick up the dress, and she tells me she actually CHARGED ME for the steaming. What!! She says she needs to give me a $145 refund, but her card scanner isnt working, so she needs my card number and security code. How sketchy!!! I give it to her because I want my money back. I never get the refund 2 weeks later, so I call her AGAIN. She is all flustered and freaks out and says she was mistaken- I dont deserve a refund but she will steam my dress for free?? By this time I am sketched out and want nothing to do with her. I say NO THANK YOU and I order a new debit card so that she cant scam me anymore. I do NOT recommend Fifi. The actual alterations on my dress were fine (hence 2 stars and not 1), but the process was NOT WORTH IT.

I needed a place to get my wedding dress altered because the place I bought my dress did not do alternations. I had driven past Fifis and decided to go with them after reading positive reviews. Fifi was wonderful to work with! She explained all the changes she was going to make with my dress at my first appointment and recommended I purchase a petticoat to provide more volume to the bottom of my mermaid style dress. I was hesitant at first but she had my try it on and I could really see what a difference it made. The finished product was beautiful and my dress fit me perfectly. I would highly recommend Fifi and plan on going back for future alterations.

Fifi is unbelievably amazing and I cannot recommend her services highly enough! She is so, so sweet and went above and beyond to alter my wedding dress, which was no easy task! I had purchased a dress that I loved but was far too revealing on top, and she was able to completely redesign the top while still keeping the dress looking like the original. She also last minute completely redid the liner fabric in a different color to make sure it looked as beautiful as possible and matched the unusual color of my dress, and I was so thrilled with the end result. I will only be going to Fifi for any alterations needs in the future, and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend her to family and friends (which I already did - my mom got her dress for my wedding altered here as well and she was equally happy with the result). FIFI IS A LIFE SAVER!I purchased my wedding dress from a different store over a year ago and when it came time for alterations they left me cold and in the dark, this was before COVID as well. I did a little research and found Fifi, who promptly made me an appointment for the same week to come in. When I arrived to the shop she was so warm and inviting and the customer service was superb! Now to the dress, the original store ended up sizing me incorrectly and I ended up with a dress 2 sizes too big and wayyy too long. Fifi really has her work cut out for her, but in just one months time the dress fit amazingly. She also made me a custom veil using my moms tulle. and lace. Overall an incredible experience and I will recommend her to any and every future bride. She saved my wedding (even though it was postponed) and I cant wait to wear this in a few months for our small ceremony.

Fifi was great to work with! I had a very hard time finding a wedding dress because I wanted something very specific and not strapless. I finally found a gorgeous dress that had everything I wanted but it was strapless, so I bought it and she made added a top piece for me to make it not strapless. She did such an amazing job no one could ever tell that piece was added on, she took lace from the dress itself to make it so it looked perfect. She made me feel beautiful on my wedding day!

I dont usually write reviews but I thought that my experience with Fifis tailor warrants it. I use a tailor quite a bit and would drive downtown to have my cloths done. I switched to Fifis after having some articles tailored...after being at my previous guy for 10 years. They are extremely proficient and professional. Fifi is an absolute delight to deal with, and the end product is always perfect. Plus they do original bottoms on jeans! I would highly recommend anybody who needs tailoring done to use them, and Im confident you will feel the same after your experience.

Fifis shop is unlike any of the other bridal shops you will visit. The store layout is amazing. Wide space, excellent lighting with one big room specifically for alterations and another for trying on dresses.The fitting rooms are spacious and is the perfect environment to really see how the dress fits. Other bridal shops were very small and narrow and did not even compare to here. Beautiful shop. Fifi is also such a warm hearted and wonderful person. Fifi is incredibly talented. I bought a sample wedding dress that was about a size 12, Im a size 4, and she made it fit perfectly! She had me come in for four fittings to assure it was perfect. Since I got the dress for a deal, and it was a designers dress, I did not mind the cost of the alterations because it had to be taken in everywhere. Fifi made me feel at ease about this whole process. Im confident she could take on the most complicated of alterations after this!

I came to Fifis last summer with a suit I bought online that needed tailoring. I needed it for a wedding that was less than a week away. Fifi was able to work her wonderful magic with what little time I gave her.My wife said it was the best suit shes ever seen me in. I also received a lot of compliments from people at the wedding. Everyone was lovely and they did an excellent job on a bridesmaid dress as well as a coat that was my grandmothers.However, when I went to get the dress the day before the wedding it wasnt done. I was asked if I could get it before the wedding, I ended up having to run back in between rehearsal events. It was extremely stressful. Hindsight, I would have called to check in.It was during a busy season so that could have been a factor (definitely told them when the wedding was).I live out of state so I had to get the coat months later on my next visit as neither were done.If I were ever to move to the Chicago area, I would definitely return.

I absolutely love Fifis Tailor. They always get my dresses altered so perfectly and the staff that works there is incredibly nice. They make me feel at home and like family. I am very petite and its always so hard to get clothing altered just the way I want it, but I have never been disappointed by this place. Ive been to other tailors where I have paid more for poor quality. Fifis Tailor produced perfect work, and they can recreate any of the original stitches from the any garment you bring in.

Extremely thankful that I found Fifis Bridal. Was completely discouraged after trying on about 100 dresses from 100 different shops and then I met Fifi. My wedding dress was botched 3 times from the place I bought it from. My wedding was in 6 days!!! I called all around and no one would help me. I called Fifi and she said everything will be ok and had me come in that day. She is extremely talented and the best seamstress I have ever seen. My dress looked amazing on me!!! I can update this review now. This is a very beautiful place. I ordered my veil from here and a comb to make another veil out of the tool from my moms. I ordered in April and finally got information just a few Moments ago that it came in in Ivory instead of White so they had to send back and that is the delay. Fifi is super super sweet and her staff is very accommodating.

Fifi is FANTASTIC! I brought in my prom dress (a beaded Cache dress from 1997) and she altered it perfectly! This dress was very challenging because of its single thread beads…if one bead falls off..they all do! Because of Fifi, I looked like I was on the red carpet! Looking for a mother of the groom dress. My sister and I ran in here just before closing time (sorry!) They let me try on a dress and were very kind and helpful. Im going back to shop because they are so nice and had a good selection of MOG dresses unlike a lot of stores where its not important for them to think of the mothers, they just want to sell bridal gowns.

Fifi destroyed my gown in the process of altering it; with less than two weeks until my wedding, I had to find another seamstress to rebuild the front of my dress from the train it was so badly botched. Worst of all, Fifi took full payment upfront and offered no refund or apology.

I bought my wedding dress several hours from my home and was looking for a tailor closer to home. I found Fifi through some online research. Fifi makes you feel comfortable during your fittings and I was confident in her knowledge and ability. She calls herself the clothing doctor. She was more expensive than I was expecting, but my dress did have a lot of layers and I was happy with how the dress fit at the end of it all. Thanks, Fifi!

Went in to look at vails had been to the store before to look for dresses and liked what I saw. I knew what I had in mind was ready to buy if I found what I wanted but was rushed out by the manager saying I had to come back when I had my dress. This was during the normal working hours so I was not sure why I was rushed out my mother and I were very uncomfortable the way we were rushed out of the store when the had no customers at all, to get rid of one willing to buy right away seemed odd to me. Was very disappointed and will not be going back. Wish it had been a better experience they had some wonderful options.

I arrived in Chicago last night for a wedding (I am in the grooms party) and was horrified to realize I had completely forgotten to get my grooms party suit pants tailored. Pictures were a mere 24 hours away! Was I going to ruin the wedding?? Fifi to the rescue. She squeezed me into her busy schedule and tailored my pants for me ON THE SPOT - I didnt even need to make another trip to pick them up later! I dont know a lot about tailoring, but Fifi looked extremely skilled (she told me shes been doing this since she was a young girl) and the pants look FANTASTIC. I was surprised when she told me it was one-woman operation because it looked so busy - but she said she only trusts herself to give amazing service - and it shows. I spent an hour with her while she tailored my pants and she is a delightful lady. Fifi represents everything business in America is supposed to be about. I wish I could give more stars.

Fifi was very nice, but I am dissapointed with the quality of my alterations for the price I paid. I had a bridesmaid dress done, and it was altered too tight but not unwearable. I tried it on again before my sisters wedding and noticed that two seams were already coming undone. Im sure she would have been willing to fix it, but the alterations were not done in a timely matter, and now I am unable to go back and have them fixed.

I love fifi and her work! She is amazing, she made my dream dress. Everyone was so polite and professional! I reccomend her 100%

Fifis a knowledgeable and kind person. I went directly to her when I discovered a dress (bought elsewhere) issue based off a friends recommendation. I couldnt be happier! Definitely recommend her myself.

Fifi is the best! I was lucky enough to find Fifi, she was great from the beginning and deliver my dress on time and perfect. I would (and have) recommended her to a few of my friends. I love Fifi!

Edit:I am updating my review to reflect my most recent experience with Fifi’s Tailor.  I originally came to Fifi’s Tailor because they were advertising a $399 summer dress sale.  When I arrived I was told that they were sold out of the $399 dresses.  I purchased a beautiful dress for roughly $1500.  I later discovered that the dress that I had purchased was advertised specifically in a Facebook post from June 5th as being on sale for $399.  I asked the owner of the establishment to honor the advertised price of the dress.  She has indicated that she will not be honoring the advertised price.  It is for this reason that I have reduced my rating from a 5-star review to a 2-star review.Original:Wow! The experience I had with Fifi today was this best experience I have had planning my wedding thus far. I would highly recommend that every bride around the Chicago area pays a visit to Fifis Tailor. Fifi is a miracle worker and her work is so professionally done! Her personality is so bubbly and shes extremely nice. She makes you feel like youre family to her. I highly recommend her to everyone!!

Googled Bridal shops near me. Fifis had great reviews and we took a chance to stop in to see their bridal gowns. First and foremost the location was questionable, the photos online made this place appear top notch. The main issue is the lack of customer service from the staff. We were not greated and when someone approached which Im assuming was the owner she was in a rush to leave. We were left in the room to view but no real attention to the possibility of earning our business. Save yourself the time and go to Genevieves bridal shop in South Barrington.

Warm and friendly customer service with expert tailoring done on anything and everything from bathing suits to gowns! Highly recommend!!

Because of my body, I have a difficult time finding clothes that fit me. I am a petite athletic built woman - clothes are either too large in the waist or too long in the length. Over the years, Ive gone through MANY tailors and between those that dont really listen to my needs to the many shops that have closed down in this economy, I find myself in constant need of a GREAT HERE TO STAY person that can help me.... well, Ive found her! Fifi not only is capable of amazing work, she completes the task quickly with a warm and friendly smile! I couldnt be happier meeting her....thank you Fifi! YOURE THE BEST!

It is unbelievable how dedicated fifi is! I went to her desperate to find a wedding dress and very clueless of what type of gown i wanted or what style was best for me fifi used her experience and patience to help me find the perfect dress that made me feel comfortable and feel like a real bride !

I went to Fifi to tailor my prom dress and after seeing the reviews I thought she would be of great service. However, my experience ended up in tears. I tried on the dress and she told me several times that my dress was going to bust and that I most likely had gained a couple pounds. I was understanding until she told me MORE than several times that I should not eat pasta, bread, or sweets until my prom day. Then she asked if my heels were comfortable and after telling her that they were she snarled at me saying, hmph, I doubt that. No girl/woman should be told to lose weight to fit in a dress. This is your job, Fifi...to make clothes to fit the person. Never tell someone to tailor THEMSELVES to fit the clothes. Very rude service, I do not recommend hiring Fifi as a tailor.

Fifi is the most amazing person ever!!! She makes u feel like u r the most important person in the world. She will do everything to make u happy and always with a smile on her face. Always compliments and gives u confident. Fifi made my wedding dress top from scratch.She is not only a tailor she is an amazing designer, she has great ideas!! One fitting day she was sick like a dog and still worked hard. I recently had my bridal gown altered by Fifi and I was extremely disappointed with the way she conducts her business and the quality of her very expensive work. I felt like I could not trust her because all she wanted to do was sell me something else or recommend more alterations so she would get more money. At the first fitting, she asked me why I didnt buy a dress from her and told me that her dresses were so much better. Then she wanted me to purchase her more expensive bra cups when I had brought my own. She would say Cant you see the difference? Mine are much better quality; I only buy the best. I could not see a difference and neither could anyone else! Then she tried to sell me one of her belts which I told her I didnt want to spend the money on. She also had me pick out a garment bag and then later told me she was charging me $25 for it. I then had to argue with her that my dress would be ok in the less quality bag I had brought in. She also tried to sell me her David Tutera jewelry.As far as the alterations go, she forgot to sew in my bustle. I had already left before I noticed it so I took my dress to an out of town alterations place where they did it on the spot for $15 dollars (it was more expensive at Fifis). They also commented on how she sewed the bra cups in and said they would never be allowed to sew them to the outside portion of the dress. The hem also did not hold up and it came undone halfway through the reception.If I had to do it all over again, I would not return to Fifis. I would be willing to pay more just to have a place not hassle me about buying accessories!

Took my jumpsuit to get hemmed and they did a great job ! the length was perfect and they had it ready couple days later just in time for my event! I will deff use them in the future.
