My first time scheduling an appointment with VIP Tires and Service, and it wont be my last! Chris Hatch was extremely personable, knowledgeable and hospitable throughout the entire process from scheduling my oil change, informing and directing his technicians to reviewing everything with me once the service was complete. I scheduled an oil change on May 26, 2021 for 8am. Chris got me right in and with every service that needed to be done not just for me, but for the rest of the customers that were there, I witnessed him outlining to his technicians what needed to be done and what the customers expectations were. I was impressed! Go see Chris and his team for all your car needs.

I have been a customer of VIP for years, until recently everything was good enough to keep me coming back.UNTIL the other day, when I called to have my car diagnosed, I was cheerfully told to bring my vehicle in & they would get right on it.....well, after I dropped my car off, everything changed.... I called a few hours before closing & asked for an update on my car & was told they did not look at it yet & would get to it tomorrow,.Long story short... 2 days later, still nothing, I called & asked what is going on & was told in a rude manner that they were so busy they could not get to it for a couple of more days & if I did not like that I could take my car somewhere else!So, I immediately go to get my car, but before I left I tried one more time to get a reasonable response & asked If I could schedule an appointment for a couple weeks down the road when they are not so busy...And was told they are booked solid for the next two months!! yeah right,needless to say..... Im done with VIP.

I have been an Ellsworth, Maine VIP customer since 2009. Purchased many sets of wheels, brakes and biannual oil changes. They tend to be a little too thorough in searching for other future repairs, but good to have the full report with an estimate for a rainy day. Always busy, but usually not too long of a wait.

Above and beyond service, and incredibly hard working guys. Be patient, as you may have to wait a day or two to get your car serviced. Worth the wait, they know what they are doing. Keep up to awesome work! We appreciate it.

This is the first time I have walked into a tire place when they did not immediately try to get me to spend as much as possible on new tires. In fact, they did not sell me new tires today at all, although I did buy other services. However, with this level of customer care, I will assuredly be back as soon as I do need tires, and will tell my friends to head to this place. n

During July 4th weekend, I had the unfortunate luck to have a tire blowout at 5:00 AM in Ellsworth. The tow truck took me and my car to VIP Tire and Auto nearby, where I waited until they opened. They took my car in immediately when they opened, replaced my blowout with a takeoff, offered quick and excellent service and I was on my way to a fun holiday weekend within the hour. I highly recommend Ellsworth VIP Tire and Auto for their professionalism and high level of customer service

These guys did a great job on short notice when I needed new tires while on vacation. Quick, efficient, very communicative and understanding. If you need a professional job done well, give them a call.

Very professional service. 100% satisfied with the brake work. Prices are on the upper end of the spectrum. Quoted me $1,400 to replace the front struts on my 2011 Hyundai Elantra whereas I only paid $850 for both front struts and rear shocks last time. So I passed on the strut replacement.

Great service every time. Fair, reasonable and always done quickly and efficiently. Ive never been overcharged and they have even told me I didnt need additional services when they could have told me that I did (and many places do!). They call or text me when my car is ready when I drop it off for service. I even choose VIP over my dealer since they have earned my trust over the years.

Told me they would order me a new rv tire. The day before I left I went in to get my tire and rim I left there. They never ordered my tire.Lucky another place in town had one or I would have traveled with no spare.

We have been satisfied VIP customers for many years, and with many vehicles. Every single time weve been met with a welcoming smile. The certified mechanics have better skills than at the few dealerships weve tried, so were VIP customers for life. At our Ellsworth VIP, Chris and Vinnie, to mention two, are the best, as are all the staff. They are always courteous, respectful, extremely knowledgeable, honest, patient, and genuine. We cant ask for more than that!

My experience at this VIP location was great! They have some really honest people working there. I had a state inspection done and they initially thought I would need new breakpads. I agreed to go ahead and do whatever it needed so I could get it inspected. They remeasured after taking the wheels off and found that they didnt necessarily need to be changed right then. Rather than replace the breaks anyway, they came back and let me know that the car passed as is.

Very professional, and very good service! Will continue to work with them. Quick easy, and to the point. 100% recommend.

Excellent staff and service; weve brought all of our family cars to VIP (Portland and Ellsworth locations) for more than a decade and theyve always been great. Amazing discount booklets too.

I needed 4 new tires and asked them to take the best of the old tires to use as a spare. Since I have a pickup, the spare should be mounted underneath. The first time I went to leave after paying $1,109, I noticed an empty rim in my truck bed. So, I went back and told them and he took my keys. 10 minutes later, he gave me the keys back. As I drove away this time, I noticed my spare. It was in the truck bed rather than mounted underneath.

I was visiting Acadia National Park when I noticed I had a flat tire. VIP got me right in and plugged my tire so I could make my drive home.

Always very friendly and helpful; get me in quickly when I call. Flexible appointment times and convenient location. Will return.

Vinny treated me right in getting the best tires ordered for me, and the crew fit me in promptly to get them installed. They did an alignment check and brake check for me for free, and didnt try to sell me on other services. Also enjoyed the $50 AAA discount I received.

The staff here are great, they were so helpful and nice when I was completely clueless as to what I needed for my car. Very patient to explain things to me so I fully understood. They knew I was on a time crunch and needed my appointment to run on time, they made sure I was in and out as quick as possible. Will bring my car here for all future needs.

I was in need of serious brake- wheel maintenance, so I called to make appt. Was surprised that I could get fit in next day, as I needed additional work done (oil change, headlight work, tire rotation, ect.). Got there, and after explanatory quote, the work began and was complete hours before I had figured it would take. Prices are not anything to yell hooray about, but quality parts & work are valuable.

I have not gone to VIP for over 15 years because of bad experiences there. I heard they had different management there from years ago, so decided I would try it again. I had an inspection done. They got me in in one day, dropped my car off for less than an hour and it was done. Easy peasy! Very friendly workers and I will definitely be going back for any of my vehicle needs. Great staff, friendly, professional and courteous, unfortunately my quote for pads, rotors and one caliper for an ‘11 Chevy Aveo came to over $800... I asked for my car to be taken off of the lift. The work is now being done at a reputable garage nearby for $425. I also took the time to speak with a local auto parts chain, where I was informed that the price for parts to perform this repair shouldn’t exceed $300.

My local VIP has always helped with advice and the repairs of my vehicle at a affordable price.

Took my Ford F-150 in for power steering work, front brake work, and an inspection. Chris at the counter did a thorough job of diagnosing the issues and then communicating everything to me in honest and simple terms. He was willing to discount the overall cost by roughly 15%, which was a generous thing of him to do. I appreciated the level of service I got from VIP, and wont even think twice about going to them in the future. Its obvious why they are the highest rated repair shop in the area. Thank you VIP!

I LOVE VIP Auto-- I go there for EVERYTHING now. Last week I needed a whole new set of tires---I had let the crew know that the week before and the salesman ordered the set of tires I needed so when I had the money, I could just come in and get them. It was fantastic. It is always fantastic!!

VIP Ellsworth is one of my two go to auto shops if I am not doing the work myself. I am knowledgeable about car repair and even with them not knowing that, they have never tried a fast one on me. Their mechanics seem knowledge and many if not all of them are ASE certified. The prices are fair but they seem trust worthy and do good work.

We were away from home when one of our tires developed a slow leak, so we called the local VIP and they were able to get us in within a few hours and promptly took care of our problem. It was a Sunday, and we were glad they were open.

I was greeted with friendly staff upon entering and they were patient with my questions as I just bought a new mustang and wasnt sure if I should run full synthetic or not. They were able to schedule my appointment for the following morning, and answered all of my questions to the point, and in terms that most anyone can understand. Prices are reasonable as well so I have to recommend VIP in Ellsworth.

We had not yet visited this store location but while enjoying a day triplast week we found ourselves in Northeast Harbor (we live in Glenburnjust outside of the Bangor area) when the starter on our vehicledecided its life was over! We had it towed to this location very late in the afternoon and since we could not arrive at the same time with the car, we were so pleased to find out that we would be driving it home. There was one aspect of miscommunication but that was resolved very quickly and professionally. We would not hesitate to return and would for surerecommend them. Michael and Laurie Fullerton

Not terribly impressed, to be honest. The mark-ups they charge for the parts they get from another business in the same building is absolutely ridiculous. I understand the need to make a profit, but charging almost 150% beyond the OTC price is a bit bonkers, and thats before adding on the cost of labor; considering the part in question was had from right around the corner, I was quite shocked to see such a drastic difference. That being said, they did put in the effort to price check against other local shops, and they came out ahead of the curve. I have to admit, its not much, and moving forward, I can only recommend VIP if youre in a bit of a bind.

My go to for general service and tires. Prompt, friendly and fairly priced. These days, I really appreciate the care they show in disinfecting everything before returning vehicle. Very thoughtful !

I have been to plenty of auto shops and this is by far the best one I have been too. The employees have wonderful manors, and will do anything they can to make your time comfortable. They will work hard to stay in your budget, and even take you out to the shop to show you first hand what they are talking about! I won’t go anywhere else! (You can even watch them work on your car!)

The staff was very helpful. I was able to find everything that i needed. Ryan who I talked to was helpful and respectful. I will be going back whenever i need more vehicle work done or parts.

Before coming to VIP I brought my newly purchased used van to a different shop. They were going to charge me an arm and a leg to get work done. VIP told me the $350 the other shop was going to charge me was way overpriced. VIP invited me to come in the shop and look underneath my van to see what was going on. The service was super friendly and welcoming. I’m glad I decided to switch to VIP.

These guys are very professional. Ive had mechanics try to take advantage of me in the past for being a woman and I feel like these guys are always straight forward, honest and willing to work with you. Its also easy to get walk in inspections or oil changes.

Chris went above and beyond to help us out.

Professional, courteous, and honest. My son had car trouble on a Sunday while on vacation, 500 miles from home. Kenny and the rest of the staff fit him in for diagnosis and gave him great service. I have been to many shops that would have taken advantage of a situation like this, but these guys acted with honesty and ethics. Highly recommended.

Just have to share with you yesterday at about 4pm when most shops were closed my rear tire went flat The mgr Kenny bridges was willing to stay late if the tow truck had gotten my car there.when that did not happen he came in on Sunday morning before they opened and got my car tires on the car and ready to roll so I could travel. I am what is known as a Frequent Flyer!! I service my vehicle at VIP on a monthly basis. Because I work as a volunteer I put about 6,000 miles per month on my car, so I am frequently due for an oil change, tire rotation etc. I have tried other Service venues and have settled on VIP as my vendor of choice. The staff and management team are always ready when I arrive and I always look forward to great service along with friendly conversation. Great Team !!!

While driving to work this morning my GMC Sierra gave me a low tire pressure warning for a particular tire, the second time this had happened in just a couple days. Concerned that there might be a substantial tire problem I stopped in at the Ellsworth VIP. The guys there took a quick look and got my truck into a bay in short order. Within 20 or 30 minutes I was advised that not only was the valve stem leaking but also the whole bead was leaking as well.The crew got to work immediately attending to both issues and soon thereafter I was called to the counter. I had my wallet out ready to pay the bill when I was reminded that because I had purchased my tires from VIP a few years back the flat repair and tire rotations are free. I had completely forgotten that great benefit of doing business with VIP! The Ellsworth VIP crew took excellent care of this customer who could not be more pleased. Their attentiveness and follow up testing of my tire likely saved me a catastrophic event on the highway.Thanks guys!

Service was great, got things done on time and helped me understand it all. but got my oil changed about a month ago and my car ran out of oil. I dont know its its there fault or my car but im upset about it.

Just got back from having radiator flushed awesome people awesome service I expected it to be more then what the original price was but got my expensive brand of antifreeze my car takes and the whole job was cheaper then the original estimate I will be going back for sure very professional very helpful I will rate this service 10 +
