I rented a house from homes for life for the term of about 18 months. Never had a single issue with the mechanics of the home. I paid my rent on time per the contract and was never issued a late fee. Kept up with the property to the best of my ability and got a fair return on my security deposit. They were perfectly clear on terms and conditions prior to my signing the contract, so I simply abided by the contract. Lawn care was included and they always cut the grass every week. I would recommend renting from them, as long as your able to pay your bills and prioritized your bills properly. They are great people that care about the community.

If I could rate This company a 0, SCAM ARTIST. They take your money and spend it without even telling you if your approved or not. They don’t answer the phone and or return phone calls and they’re blatantly in the office just watching the phone ring. I had to pop up there I’m order to get my money back because of never receiving a response from them about a rental property I had applied to almost a month ago. Mark, ALicia & Cythina are all liars and try to take peoples hard earned money & they truly don’t care. I had to call the cops on them to make them act accordingly. I wouldn’t recommend them to a squatter or homeless person. They ARE THE WORST COMPANY IVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Stay away from them please.

Poor communication skills. I called the office several times.. left numerous messages. The only time I got a hold of someone was the first time I called made arrangements to see properties. Agent never showed up when I called several times no one picked up the phone huge waste of time.I would not recommend this company to anyone they really need to get organized.

Don’t answer phone calls, don’t fix house problems when it’s needed, if you pay your rent on the 2nd day of the month they already wants to charge you a $100 late fee

Wish I could give them ZERO stars. Scam company. They take cash only or money orders to personal family members. No rent goes through the company so they don’t pay taxes on anything. Late fee charged on the 2nd of every month, as well as court papers filed (even if the 1st falls on a Sunday). When I moved in they still owed the gas company money so I had no heat for 2 weeks. No hot water for two days. Fixed repairs only after a judge ordered them to. Central air hasn’t worked for almost a month and they refuse to fix it or allow me to legally have it professionally fixed. To top it all off the houses a extremely cheaply constructed. Very good at scamming, I should’ve had my lawyer read my lease way before now. More people need to speak up about their experiences. Hope my review is the catalyst for that.

If you are looking to rent a house with having problems do not rent from they are the worst to deal with they will not answer the phone or resolve any issue especially regarding returning deposits, I had to leave one of their houses early because there is a lot of things that they where not taking care of at the house so I left earlier than the contract due to them not fulfilling their part of the contract of basic maintaining of the property honestly don’t rent from them

Glad ppl are finally aware of these scam artist. Judge Campbell is issuing illegal evictions. I recommend speaking to councilmen/women about this issue. Always pay your rent to court with them that way the IRS has a paper trail on their income. I will be looking into statue of limitations for a civil suit not just against these devils but against the county/city of Elkton

Unfortunately, with my experience they do not return phone calls. I sent them and an email at the end of August 2019 and Cynthia assured me that if I left a voicemail that she’d be in touch with me the following day. Well I have called and left voicemails 3 times asking to set up a showing for their properties but no call backs or email replies and it’s been over a week. Properties look nice but communication is poor.

Called Cynthia R. DAzevedo for a tour on a house that was 35 minutes away from our current address. Called her around 2 pm and we agreed on a 5 pm tour. Husband and I packed up our 2 young kids to drive 35 minutes away to see this house. We arrived at 4:30 and saw there was no one at the house, decided to drive around the neighborhood to check it out. We arrived back at the house at 4:45. Still no body there. We waited until 5:15 to give her a call, no answer. I called her, my husband called her no answer what so ever. Left her a message saying we were leaving at 5:30. 5:35 rolls around and I call her one more time and nothing. Eventually her phone stopped ringing and straight to voicemail. Wasted almost 2 hours of my life to NOT see the house we wanted. To this day, 3 days later I have not heard anything back from her. Even after compromising with her about the day/time of the tour. We wanted a weekend since my husband works over night. She said that wouldn’t work weekdays worked for her so we compromised.Very unprofessional and disappointing. 👎🏻

Mark is nothing short of a slum lord, he purposely left my kids and I in a freezing cold house with a GAS LEAK for days, and he tried to make me pay to fix it in the mist of him threatening to fight me, which I had to file a police report for, He is a con artist and a horrible excuse for a human being, I have spoken with other tenants of his and they all have nothing nice to say about him, Karma will catch up to him one day.

Horrible landlords if you call them to fix something they’ll never return your call or fix the issue. If you’re one day late on rent they’ll try to take you to court. Can’t wait until my lease is up!
