I was referred to Walter Piano Transport as the best company to move my piano. The contract I signed indicated my piano would be delivered 30-45 days after it was picked up. It has been a little over 3 months and my piano has still not been delivered and no additional communication has come from Walter Piano. I have reached out numerous times, each time being told another 2-3 weeks and that they come to my city every 2-3 months but still no piano. Ive reached out one more time to determine if I need to file a claim or report my piano missing or to find out if they actually still have it and have it scheduled for delivery. Well see if they respond but I would be very cautious to hire them as I have a beautiful piano over 100 years old (passed down through the family) that plays beautifully and Im absolutely concerned I will never get it.
I found Walter on-line after obtaining generic moving bids. Walter ONLY deals with Pianos, Harpsichords, Clavichords and Organs. Theyre timelines were spot on and they were over $1,000 less expensive than the generics....simply because this is all they do. Any time we need a piano moved, there is only one long-distance transport service for us!
I was told that Walter Piano Transport is top notch, and they clearly didnt disappoint! They removed the piano on time and with care, then they stored the piano until I was ready to receive it, and then they delivered the piano, using another top-notch local piano mover. When the piano was installed, it was in great shape and it didnt even lose its tuning. I could play right away with no problems! I highly recommend their services! As a cherry on top - their price was even lower (by a lot) than some of the other Chicago-based movers that I had considered.
Do not use. They broke my piano and then when I asked for them to stand behind their guarantee, they claimed that because the piano was elsewhere repaired, all guarantees are voided. This was a new snapping of the music stand, fresh wood under, and, I think, a repair they could pay for considering the thousands of dollars I spent on a long transport of my piano with “white glove service” (white glove, the company they farmed it out to for delivery didn’t even wear masks on delivery).Walter will claim whatever, they’re being dishonest and I had asked for their claims department to please handle, but they were silent for over a week (must have a lot of claims…).Walter- stand behind your promise, fix my piano that was broken when under your care, and I will take down this honest review. If anyone doubts me, look on the Better Business Bureau and you will see the attitude and ridiculousness this company stand for while hiding behind false promises.
Thank you very, very much, Walter Piano Transport and the whole network on caring professional piano movers between Phoenix and Seattle where our daughter received our piano today, 42 days after pick up, in perfect condition: Just as they promised: Door to door. Worry Free ... Guaranteed - Thanks for an awesome job! G.B.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! They moved my piano from Denver to Cincinnati and lost a piece of one of the legs along the way. They spent weeks looking for it and now say it was missing when they picked it up in Denver. This is an heirloom piano and when I asked for the help locating it Hope the owner said she would not share her inventory list of the piano upon pick up with me and would not replace the piece and hung up on me. I promise you, you will be let down using Walter Piano.
Walter Piano Transport moved our family piano from Seattle to Alexandria, VA. The price was the most reasonable after getting other estimates. From the pickup in Seattle to the delivery everyone was friendly and professional. If I had a question about the move they were very quick to get back to me. Would recommend them wholeheartedly!
We recently moved across the country, but needed to transport our grand piano. We specifically chose a company that specializes in moving pianos because we realize moving pianos can be difficult. We ultimately went with Walter Piano Transport, as they seemed to be highly rated. They said the estimated time of delivery would be 30-45 days, however, it took over 3 months. When they finally delivered the piano, it had significant new cosmetic damage, including a dent on the front and many large scratches along one side. When placing the piano in the house, the movers damaged a piece of tile in the entryway of our new home. When contacted about the issues, the company told us to file a claim. The response was that the piano is old (about 25-years-old) and, therefore, would not cover the damages. If this is their business model and will not cover damages that they cause, then they should make that clear from the start. We were extremely disappointed in the process from start to finish and will not be recommending this company to anyone.
They lost the very nice piano bench that matched our grand piano and delivered a totally beaten up non matching bench in a different color. They were very unapologetic and acted like it happened all the time and was not a big deal. They had two things to move! Our bench had sheet music in it and after three months has never been found. I honestly dont think they ever tried, althogh they claimed they went through their process this process doesnt seem to include actually calling people theyve delivered pianos to in the same shipment. Ridiculous.
They arrived as scheduled, carefully packed my new (to me) baby grand piano and transported it to their warehouse. It was then shipped to a local piano specialist who delivered it and set it up perfectly in my home. 1800 miles with no issues! Great job!
I highly recommend this piano moving company! I received three quotes from different companies. This company was the best priced and had the best reviews. They picked up our family piano from Washington state. They gave us an estimate of 45 days to get it to Texas. It arrived earlier than expected! It arrived in 39 days. The movers were professional and took great care of our piano. It was wrapped thoughtfully, including the stool that came with the piano. They moved it into the house with great care and efficiency. I would use this company again.
My wife and I needed to move a baby grand piano from Northwest Washington to Northeast Massachusetts. After two very negative experiences with moving companies canceling their own contracts and requiring non-disparagement agreements in order to be refunded, we found Walter Piano Transport. The customer service was positive, the fees reasonable, and the piano arrived in excellent condition and very reasonably in tune. Would highly recommend Walter to anyone needing to move any kind of piano. Thank you!
This is by far the worse piano moving company I have been with. We shipped a grand piano across the country. First of all, their customer service is terrible - they are arrogant, unhelpful and made constant administrative errors. When they finally shipped the piano cross-country for delivery to the door, their delivery driver throught they were picking up a piano instead of delivering one! This is a dysfunctional company that cannot be trusted.
They lost the glass casters that go under my piano legs AND the bolts for the legs, which delayed the drop-off another week until Seale Keyworks (TN) bought new bolts to cover for Walter losing them. Every step of the way there were delays (August-November move) and the first time I called they didnt even know where my piano was (it had been picked up a couple of weeks prior). Terrible service.
Its ridiculous how quickly I was shut down. I was barely given a moment to talk on the phone when I called them and completely dismissed what I was asking for.
Very efficient in getting the job done. Improved communications, pushed by Walter Piano to me as the client throughout would have made this a perfect experience. Bottom line aspects were great -- pick up, transport, local delivery contact (their communication was excellent by the way), and delivery/emplacement went well. The delivery and emplacement team was outstanding. Great teamwork and very efficient. Kudos to them.
They were responsive and professional
Reliable, friendly. Gave full information and stuck to their word. It took a long time to move my piano 3000 miles, but everything they told me was fulfilled. I would use them again if they worked out of my new home state.
Very easy to deal with! The communication was great and my piano arrived in FL from IL without any problems! I would definitely recommend Walter Piano Transport. Thank you! 😀
I definitely recommend Walter Piano Transport. Their communication with me was clear, concise, and very friendly on the telephone. My Grand piano was picked up in Oklahoma by a friendly two-man team, transported to Tulsa, then to La Mirada, California and then to my home in California. My piano was set up by a friendly two-man team. The whole process was completed in four weeks. The piano, lyre, and bench were wrapped and well protected in padded moving-blankets and secured to a dolly. I polished and tuned my piano and it looks fantastic. I am very happy with Walter Piano.
Ariel is a great communicator. A man of his word. My piano suffered some cosmetic damages in the move from Memphis to Orlando from the crating and padding material. I sent Ariel pictures. Walter Piano Transport took full responsibility, no arguing, and addressed the issue promptly. The piano was repaired and looks just perfect. It was a pleasure to do business with a company of such high ethics and responsibility, and great costumer service. I wish more businesses operated like Walter Piano Transport.
I needed to move my childhood piano from Tennessee to Florida, as my parents were downsizing and it was a very special piece I wanted to keep in the family. Ariel was wonderful in coordinating the whole process. Within two weeks of my initial call, a date and time for pickup had been setup. Pickup in TN required the movers to bring the piano down 16 stairs that turned. They did so professionally and effortlessly. About three weeks later, the piano arrived at my house. Again, the team on my end did a wonderful job with delivering. The whole process took about 6 weeks, which was not bad at all. And I was thankful that all teams who helped with the move were on time and professional. Definitely would recommend this company to anyone needing to move a piano across states.
These guys picked up our piano in December and it is now MARCH and I have no idea when or even if this is going to be delivered. They say it is in Colorado somewhere but I have heard nothing about a delivery date. If you want this delivered in a timely manner go with someone else.
These guys are the best. We use them almost exclusively at Hollywood Piano in Burbank, CA. The reason is simple. We have GREAT service. Simple, easy and priced correctly. From Coast to Coast we use Walter Piano Transport several times a month. We have been using them for years and will continue to use them. Thanks to the entire team.
We had an older grand moved from the deep South (Mississippi) to the high Rockies of Colorado. Everything about the move went like clockwork. It was a 3-stage move, as they had to arrange with two different companies -- one for pickup and one for delivery at final destination -- and they selected these other two companies. Honestly they used the absolute best ones out there for these locales. 5 Stars all the way around!
We LOVE Walters! They are always my first choice when moving a piano to another state. Really great customer service and their drivers and professional and great to work with. We have used them multiple times and have always had a great experience.
Ive done dozens of deliveries with Walter Transport. They are ALWAYS on time, polite, and never inconvenient. Excellent service. Fair Price.Walter Transport is our go-to transport company. -Dr. L.A. McDonald -Hartland Piano Technician
Not timely at all. We had a baby grand piano picked up early June for a move across the country; at that time, they quoted four weeks for delivery. When I called first week of July to check on the status of the piano, they said it would take an additional two to three weeks. It is currently the end of July, and when I called again, they said that it hasnt even left their warehouse yet (projected to be at the end of another week), with yet another two to three weeks for transport. If it does end up being delivered by then, it will have been almost three months since the pick-up.Absolutely unacceptable.
Walters Piano Transport is the nicest company I have ever encountered. In 2017, I contacted them to move a piano from Kentucky to Florida. One week after they picked it up, our home was damaged in Hurricane Irma. In shock I called Walters and told Ariel I had no home to which to deliver the piano. He was SO KIND and understanding and told me they would store it until I could rebuild. I asked the price of storage and was told they were not going to charge me due the nature of the situation! What? No one does that in todays world except Walters Piano Transport, the Piano Movers with Heart, in Elkhart, IN or should I say Elk-Heart Indiana. I checked in every few months to give our progress and was always kindly reassured they were happy to keep storing the piano. At the beginning of January 2019, finally rebuilt, I received my beautiful piano, exactly as they had picked it up and still in tune! I don’t feel I could ever thank them enough and am thrilled to tell everyone how amazing this company is!Very Sincerely, Karen Heins
They are a great transport company, we use them for all of our long distance moves. Top quality work & employees. We highly recommend Walter Piano Transport.
I have been extremely satisfied with the service we have received from Walter Piano Transport. Over the past 10 years I have used them multiple times and they have exceeded my expectations on each piano move. Always prompt, professional and courteous!
This company doesnt respond to any inquiries. Ive requested multiple updates from them, they ghosted me for a week. They dont know who is doing what or where anything is. The rep helping me Briana Reitz doesnt respond, and the manager, Ariel Askren, has no answers for anything.I would highly recommend you do not use this service. Very unprofessional. If they were doing what they were supposed to, they wouldnt need to dodge emails or call requests.
They moved my new piano with great care and efficiency. It was a high-end semi-concert grand, and I appreciate that they were extremely careful throughout the whole process.
I have received pianos many time as a small local piano mover in Brevard NC. There should never be a worry or concer if you use this company.
Extremely knowledgeable and very reasonably priced service!!!
They do a great job. I have used them so many times it would be difficult to count
Always professional..the best.
Love it
Great place
