Love this place. I used to get my haircuts there before I moved to Kansas City. I came into town this weekend for a wedding and getting my hair and beard done here was a must. Not only do they do great work, they treat each customer well. Youre not like cattle shuffled through here, they take care of you and take their time.

Booked same day, got fade haircut, shave, and style with Jen. I didnt know what I wanted when I came in, but she was very friendly and helpful in deciding what I wanted and did an excellent job executing the plan. In my sales line of work I gotta look crisp and fresh. I get back to the office and everyone was throwing out compliments like candy. Would definitely recommend.

Good cut but not worth $30..

Worst fade Ive ever had. There were lines on my head. Had the wife fix them. Lady with lots of tattoos was terrible. No skill in fading even after asking multiple times for reassurance. Told me 25$ then after the cut she charged me 35! Never again.

This credit is long overdue. The hair stylist Katelyn tacked a task other people were refusing to tackle I wanted to do something crazy funny and kind of tacky for a corporate work training and this was it! But everyone I called said they didn’t feel comfortable doing this. Katelyn stenciled it she said she had never had to work so hard for a design, but she pulled it off and to that I give the biggest kudos I could give. Hands down better than I was expecting and it did exactly what I wanted it to do!

My son loves getting his hair cut here. He is biracial and its not always easy to find someone who has experience cutting his type of hair. He has always come home happy when he has gone to The Lather & Fade. He is also a teenager. They can cut hair with that age groups style in mind. Easy to schedule online with lots of choices of times.

The people, managers an more are beyond chill. Great vibes, great haircut, even gave a better style and better service. No complaints.

Today was my sons first haircut here and it was an amazing experience for the both of us. We werent sure what to expect but from reviews I read beforehand I knew we were going to leave satisfied. Isaac was not only extremely talented but he was very patient with my extremely anxious 6 year old. My son was pretty nervous and he calmly talked to him and explained everything he was doing. We had not only an awesome experience and were highly satisfied when finished, but had so many compliments after leaving the shop and walking the stores. Definitely found ourselves a permanent place for cuts and satisfaction.

Molly aka Dr Fade is unreal!! The amount of time quality & detail she puts into my crazy hair is ridiculous. I never leave the chair with a hair out of place and that is amazing considering that prior to her i hadnt left a barber without going home and trying to fix spots on my own for about 10 years!!! I am a extremely picky person when it comes to hair cuts and at the end of a cut in her chair i have nothing to be picky about.

Went in there 3 times, never got a cut. 1st time they were too busy, 2nd time, 2nd time too busy, 3rd time I stood there for about 5-7 minutes at the counter but nobody came over, 2 people waiting so I left again. I tried 2 times to call first and set an appt. but nobody answered the phone (during open hours). So now I just go somewhere else. Must be very good, they are always too busy for me

Ive been in the military stationed in California. This is the only place within a 100 mile area that does proper lines and fading with a good high and tight. They do straight razor shaves and have a very nice dapper manly appeal inside! Great business!

They do awesome fades and phenomenal beard trims. I usually ask for jose. Hes the owner there and he does hair too. Hes great. Everyone is very welcoming too.

My barber is here so I go here. If he moved to another place I would happily move also. Owner once denied my sons appointment so he could squeeze in some friends. Unimpressed with him since then, appointments shouldnt get cancelled if appointee is there.**03-04-2018 Update had my usual barber send my son away from his appointment and told him to reschedule. My son is in college over 30 minutes away and they wanted him to come back later in the afternoon. I have also had the owner of lather & fade tell all of his stylists next time I come in he wants to talk to me about my review. He has had others from lather & fade call and leave voicemail messages saying Jose wants to know what my problem is with my review.I will never be back to see the narcissistic people at the lather & fade again. I am currently looking for a new barber, my recommendation would be to stay far away from this place. I put up with them for 4 years and it just keeps getting worse! Never again, and for lather & fade employees please do not call my house and harass me about my review anymore. I have been going to Jose and his crew for several years now... I have tried other places, but this barber shop has always been a great experience. I love the vibe of the place, the people that work there make me feel like I am at home, as any barber shop should be. If you want a barber that really takes their time creating art and not rush through a haircut, go to The Lather & Fade Shop. This barber shop is absolutely amazing! Yes, they do straight razor cuts and also offer the hot towel. If youve never tried the hot towel, you are truly missing out.

Lather and fade is a barber shop that prides itself on its nostalgic aesthetic. I will admit that upon entry, the shop does look very cool. Its got that old school, early 60s, Barber Shop feel to it. The good impression somewhat stops there. The staff are experienced, the atmosphere is friendly, and the business is clean.Unfortunately, the biggest downside is that the experience of their Barbers doesnt exactly compliment skill. I go in today (4.18.18) for a standard bald fade and beard trim. The fade went relatively well but I didnt see those butter smooth fading skills that I usually get at other barber shops.When it came to the beard trim I had to remind my barber that the mustache, goatee, and sideburns are all parts of the beard and need to be trimmed also see. Most places around the area will charge somewhere around 18 to $25. At lather and fade it costs 30.After the entire cut I figured I was charged $4 for the mustache, $4 for goatee, $3 for the foam, $6 for the straight razor, $9 for the fade, $2 for the chair, and $2 for the barber :( ... Yes they do the old school straight razor, hot foam, warm towel around the neck, classic treatment; but this little niche should come as an option and not exactly a throw in.For me personally straight razors tend to mess with my skin and prefer being lined with motorized liners. So even though it is a somewhat nice addition and adds a difference to their services, I think that this adds an unspoken fluctuation in the price as a whole.If you dont mind overpaying for a decent cut then go-ahead but a better quality of cut at a lower price will always trump lather and fade, in my opinion.

If youre looking for a quick haircut, this aint the place for it. Thats not how they roll here, and thats the point. Ive been here three times and someone different has cut my hair each time. They absolutely pay attention to the details. My cut is nothing complicated, but the straight razor line up around the edges is awesome. Definitely make an appointment if your schedule is tight.

I got my haircut done here twice and have loved every bit of it, anybody that doesnt know coming here they prefer cash instead of credit as if you pay with credit or debit its a dollar fee. Appointments are recommended but if its a slow day then you can probably get in with no appointment just by calling them and checking to see if theyre busy or not. Basic haircuts ($20) ($30)

First experience and right away I can tell its different. They take so much effort to making sure your hair is perfect from every angle and its definitely worth going back. For those who are looking for a good place to get a haircut, shave or simply purchasing a product, The lather and fade shop is the place to go. Schedules can be done online or simply walk in. They give you so many options and yet manage to keep things traditional.

Took my two boys here for the first time and I was extremely impressed! Convinced my husband to get his hair cut here so Ill be scheduling appointments tomorrow for all three of them. They were awesome with my boys they wont be going anywhere else!

My sons haircut was choppy and uneven in places. It was a long day so i didnt really notice until we got home but the barbers performance left much to be desired. Overall its a cool clean and trendy place with a good atmosphere. I will probably go back but request a different stylist.

I receive compliments about my hair quite often, and this has been the best haircut Ive had in my life. If I could give The Lather & Fade Shop 10/5 stars, I would. I have always gone to a salon, and to sum it up, they messed it up a bit last time and I went to Great Clips to fix that mess up and it was 20 times worse (full detail on my 1 star review on Great Clips). I had such a bad experience with my hair, I needed a professional. I found this place on Google, and even though its reviews were pretty low I decided to try it out. I walked in and was attended to instantly. Jose took me back and asked what I wanted done and I told him how much I like to make sure my hair is perfect. He looked at my hair and laughed. He, in the nicest manor possible, asked if I had it done last by Great Clips. At this point I knew I had my hair in the right hands. As he started cutting, he asked me questions the whole time about what I like and dont like about my haircut. He took me through the steps as he was cutting it, and he described every mistake Great Clips had made. As he was fiinishing, I told him Thank you so much Jose, you saved my hair. Jose is the nicest man, he and I shared many laughs in that short time. It took a total of 7min for a full haircut and I was very pleased (at my original salon it took about 20min). Jose did a much better job than the past salon, and he removed even the thought of ever associating with Great Clips again. I am very happy with my hair and I will never go anywhere else from this point on.

Great shop rock-a-billy type atmosphere. If you need your man mane trimmed or style go hear. Do you enjoy the hot towel treatment or a good old straight Razer shave or cleanup. If so this is the shop for you I feel like a million bucks when I Am done.

I cant stop going here. I love everything about the way they run their shop(s). I have been to both the Elkhart and Granger facilities and both offer a different experience. I get a classic fade with hard line. Its fly. They use straight razors for the hard line and triming around the sideburns, ears, and neck complete with a hot foam lather and finish with a hot towel and aftershave cream. Its amazing. Want to kick off a bachelor party? Come in for a round of straight razor shaves to get everyone looking like 11s. Great service, great haircuts, and cool atmosphere. Unlike anything in the area.

Booked online and it was more worried about getting your credit card information. Thought I had my appointment booked. Walked in only to be told I have no appointment but we can see you in 4 1/2 hours

Was very excited when this was changed from a Great clips to a barber shop. Unfortunately, I finally made an appointment for a weekday morning and ended up waiting just shy of two hours until they finally squeezed me in. The gal who did my hair did an ok job but there was no extras. If youre looking for a hot towel or a facial or some of the other niceties that Barbershops can offer, this is not the place. It does have a very cool look inside and if youre able to find a barber you specifically like and wait for that person then it maybe worth it.

Attention to detail. I feel like my head went to the spa. First time in a long time I had my neck shaved with a straight razor. Then came the hot towel. Felt so good.

Lady barber was horrible. I asked for a mid fade and she gave me a high fade. The fade was not clean and I could tell it was rushed. The top of my hair was uneven and looked sloppy. My hairline was uneven and she made a huge slant in it which made my hairline look like it was pushed back an inch. During the entire haircut she didn’t even ask or mention how I might like this or that she just went ahead and started cutting as if she had a haircut in mind for her and not for me. Horrible experience.

The fade that I Had asked for was patchy which disappointed me I expected better from the reviews I had seen, and not just that the line up on my hair was not done correctly meaning he kinda messed me up the only reason I’m giving two stars was because he didn’t messed up the top of my hair and was able to cover somewhat from the line up he did and by the way this was the location in Elkhart, Ohio(P.S. ) they need to make sure these barbers know how to do a fade before let people join

I really liked going to Lather and Fade Elkhart but they have changed policies that they will no longer book appointments over the phone and you must use the app. The app requires you to enter a credit card number to make and appointment. The app doesnt seem to be secure at all. I called and spoke with the manager to ask if I could please make an appointment over the phone and they will not allow it. Also during the conversation I was asking how long they keep your card information they said they keep it permanently. This is a penny smart, dollar dumb policy that isnt customer friendly and sadly even though the people here do a great job cutting hair and beards you have lost me and my family as a customer.

Terrible customer service!!! I stood in line for a few minutes waiting to be acknowledged. Then when I was. I was told I got put down for a no show since I was 5 minutes late, so their for I received no service. Even though I was there waiting to be acknowledged!!! This wasnt the first bad experience either. The sign in the window clearly says walk ins welcomed. I had gone in with my bf and I needed my undercut faded. It was 730 and I was told I couldnt get it faded because they close at 8. Mind you their were plenty of barbers just standing around doing NOTHING!!!! It takes literally 5 min to fade a small patch on the back of my head. I suggest working on your customer service skills and if walks arent welcomed take down the sign.

Prices too high and you are asked if you want to tip the, I would say the barber, but they are no barbers. If wouldve been better off if had gone to great clips, lol.

Great place to get your haircut, if you have patience. Ive been going since 2014 when I was in the Marines. I always schedule appointments, dont bother. After my 2nd occasion of waiting 20 minutes and still seeing walk-ins go first Ill be looking elsewhere to go.

I took my father there for the works and she shaved his face and neck with shaving cream and a straight edge then put the hot towel on. It should have been the towel first to soften the hair on his face and neck first. There were 2 nicks as well.She did apologize for the Nicks and felt bad about it.When I scheduled the appointment I told them the works with hot towel as well. They should have scheduled him with someone who has experience with this.I did watch other people get haircuts and they were fantastic.

My Husband and son have been going to Lather and Fade for a while and this past two months have been the worst. It took me 3 days to schedule my husbands apt. and i finally was able to do so. But i did not like having to imput our card to make the apt. The day of the apt. Comes and they call my husband at work and cancel his apt and say that they could not get him in till 3 days later. He was so mad that now he refuses to go back. I do understand that the business is growing but the professionalism of the shop should not lack because of that. My son is upset because we will not come back but i am sorry we can not condone a business to treat us unfair. You would charge us a $10.00 no show fee so where is our $10.00 cause your person did not show so he could have his apt.

HORRIBLE customer service. WORSE haircut. Will not listen to customers requests. Stylist did what she wanted. My husband complained. She told me that he was wrong. Had an appointment and STILL WAITED 1 hour and 15 minutes with no explanation or apology. Will NEVER go back, and will suggest others not waste their time.

Called the shop today, talked the receptionist dennis. Dennis tried to get my boys in for a hair cut. Dennis was so patient with me trying to fit us in.. That is why we come to this shop. Dennis is by far the best receptionist.

The lady that answers the phone is very rude and has horrible people skills first of all. Secondly my 16 yr old son had a appointment set for the day after Christmas. But we noticed on Christmas Eve night that my son had a bad rash break out on his head. So he needed to cancel his appointment but they where not open Christmas Day there messages line was full And apparently the only other option is somehow doing it with a credit card which we do not have. So their way to spread Christmas joy and Christmas spirit is to charge my son 10.00 for not canceling. Hes never not shown before its their fault for not having Room on their answering machine not his. Horrible busines we will never be going back again.

Been to other places that claimed they could do a zero fade and they lied! Went here because of location and it has fade in name. Happy I went there, the dude hooked up with a CLEAN zero fade, definitely going back!

Everytime I make an appointment they end up cutting my hair 30 min after the appointed time even when theyre not busy. They give descent fades, but they cant line up your hairline to save thier lives. One of the ladies left one side edgy and the other round. I wish I would have noticed when I was there but oh well. Today is definitely the last time I go there.
