My son brought his 3 month old kitten to emergency care twice this week. The first time he was sent home with the vet stating they couldn’t find anything wrong with his kitten. Yesterday the kitten was unable to walk. Sit up. Eat. They did X-rays and said maybe he had worms…? We were charged almost $600 for this visit. Sent home with 4 medications. This kitten couldn’t blink. Urinate. We woke up to our baby dead this morning. He DIED. I feel that with your experience as veterinarians, if you see an animal in that condition your professional response would be to tell a client that maybe a pet should be put down. Not charge a 20 year old who wants the best for his animal SIC HUNDRED DOLLARS only to end up with a dead baby animal the next day. You knew what you were doing by over charging, and not giving an honest proper diagnosis, and I hope people read of you only in history books and bad reviews very soon. My family will never be back or trust your institution ever again.
I have a 7 week old puppy who developed cherry eye in both eyes. They started to bleed, called and brought her in, they took her right away. They were so calming and wonderful to work with relieving my anxiety and stress about the situation.I strongly recommend bringing your pet here.
Would give one star if it were not for the kind front desk staff that helped pay for the unexpected euthanization of our adult cat.Services ended up being over $500 which I couldnt afford at 18 years old without credit. As of 3 years ago, they literally charged me an extra $50-65 to be IN THE room beside my poor dying cat while staff euthanized him. Already in shock, I agreed. He was so anemic he was barely holding on, and it was a horrible way to die and feel, Im sure. I cant imagine what it felt like for him, but I also wasnt about to let my kitty Ziggy die alone without anyone familiar around.Do not recommend this vet at all unless you like being overcharged. The front desk vet tech was such a sweetheart, went out of her way and her own pocket to help cover our expenses.. God bless her & her kindness will never be forgotten. I still think about it to this day and I hope she reads this. A light in the darkness. Kindness and compassion/empathy go a long way, but I do have to say the Veterinarian himself didnt have that. Thank God for good Samaritans/people.
I just called asking about a final appointment for my 17 year old cat. They dont have any availability today, which is fine and understandable, but the receptionist hung up on my when I said that urgent care wouldnt suffice because my cat is suffering and cant sit in a waiting room. So rude.
Yeah, why does this place have such mixed reviews? Its always a red flag when the majority of reviews are 1 and 5 star ratings. Who would feel the need to lie about their vet experience? Do you guys overcharge? I know there is incredibly long wait times to get an appointment, i had to wait over a month just to get my cat in. But the majority of negative reviews either mention overcharging or just lack luster costumer service and there is a lot of those reviews.
Today I took Lucy in for a check up. Upon meeting Dr Pate I knew Lucy would be in good hands. Lucy is one of my dachshund fur babies and Dr Pate has weiner dog babies of her own. Dr Pate was very knowledgeable and professional. She also was reassuring to me that staff takes extra care when handing dachshund’s because of their backs. I have also been to Bradshaw VCA many other times in emergencies cases with Lucy and my other fur children. I have always felt good about the care they received as well.
The worst vet and experience ever. After telling me they could see my very sick cat and having me drive 45min to get to them they decided to let me sit in the parking lot waiting another 30 min for them to call me and tell me they shut down the ER clinic...I came here because all others are full and no one can see her. The staff were so rude and unprofessional. They obviously do not care about extremely sick animals or peoples time. Horrible service!
I have nothing but good things to say about both the Vetrenarians and staff. They were so attentive and caring towards my elderly companion Gizmo. I cant thank them enough for what they did for me and my furr baby during that difficult time. They were very honest with everything which I truly appreciate. Thanks to them I feel it allowed my family and I more time with him before he passed. The Vets and staff deserve the world, for all the work they do, day in and day out. It certainly doesnt go unnoticed. Thank you VCA Bradshaw, you all are amazing!!
I would steer clear if this place. It seems the staff is more worried about hanging out in the parking lot than helping the patients. And they VERY rude. My experience is on point with the reviewers rating 1 star. I honestly believe the higher ratings are from false accounts. Find somewhere else to take your family members. This place is a nightmare.
We brought my sisters cat here for a second opinion after being wrongly diagnosed and dismissed by another vet. I called and they told me to bring her in right away. Turns out she had late stage aspiration pneumonia and needed to be hospitalized to have a chance which we did. They did the same tests and X-rays the other vet did and we had a diagnosis within hours. They did everything they could but she only lasted another day and a half before we got that call in the middle of the night that she hadn’t made it. They were very good at explaining everything that was happening with her and very honest. We got regular updates are were actually updated with stable news an hour before her sudden passing. I wish we would have taken her here originally, then maybe she would still be alive. They allowed us to see her that night after her passing and mourn which was really nice. They were also very nice about the bill and didn’t charge for a lot of things they did to try and save her and I’m very appreciative of that. Thank you VCA Bradshaw for trying your best to save S’mores.
Been customer since early 80s and getting a timely appointment has never been a problem until earlier this week - month and a half before my dog can be seen for his annual shots. Only emergency appointments available before that. Long time in case my elderly dog needs to see a vet!!!
Needed an emergency vet over Memorial Day weekend and they saved her! Dr Giron and everyone I worked with was great- detailed, kind, and responsive. Thankful to them all
I’ve been taking my dogs to see Dr. Petrunich for nearly 10 years… I’ve had 4 dogs in his care and have nothing but good things to say about him and his team. This hospital is busy and appointments have been difficult to get since COVID… but every time I’ve seen Dr. Petrunich it’s been worth the wait. He’s patient and thorough… all surgeries he’s performed have healed better than expected. I’ve had to say good bye to two of dogs due to various issues in old age… I so appreciate the doctor’s patience, treatments, and explanations when we had to make those difficult decisions.
A company is only as good as it employees. Dr. Overtons attention to my dogs issues was very good. She laid out all my options and the cost upfront. I knew exactly what I was getting and paying for. Her vet technician and staff had great customer service. Thank you Dr. Overton I appreciate your professional, caring service I felt at ease while waiting for your diagnosis and treatment recommendation. My puppy is now eating and drinking again.
Not very helpful this time around, seem the staff here cant get there stories straight when it comes to emergency, one tells use they stop taking in at 9pm and the other just tells us there is a long waiting list.. Either way it seems to me they have lost there touch with caring about pets and why they have this type of job.
I called Wednesday April 28th because my dog had something stuck in his eye and I wanted to see if they could help get it out. The lady that answered was really rude tried to refer me out even before she let me tell her exactly what was going on. Really poor customer service. I do not recommend. Don’t waist your time calling.
I took my 14 year old Border Collie in when she developed urinary urgency. The vet got my pet in efficiently and the staff were super friendly and caring. The vet examined my dog and gave me an incredibly detailed report and suggestions for treatment. The vet listened to me and was very thorough. They didnt suggest any unreasonable treatments or diagnostic testing other than what was necessary. The vet followed up the next day to check in.I am incredibly impressed by the exceptional care my pet received as well as the wonderful customer service I experienced. The price was absolutely reasonable and I am thrilled to have found such an amazing resource for our beloved animals.
VCA Bradshaw has great customer service. My dog needed an emergency check up, and they got me in within 40 mins while other places were booked or told me it would be a 3 hour wait. The dr and staff were amazing and explained everything smoothly to me. After the check up, we decided to put our baby down, and they explained the process, options, and pricing so well to us. We appreciate them for their love and kindness. Would definitely recommend.
Best vets in town! Been going there for close to 30 years.
Just look on Next Door Neighborhood Forum. The entire community has had bad experiences here including myself.Kristen (female) on the phones. Horrible. cold, acted like I was bothering her. I called in to check on my dog at around 10:40 Saturday night the sixth told her my name told her my dogs name it was an emergency she knew I was upset she brusquely asked me how can I help you? That girl should not be on the phones rude very very rude. Not to mention cold as ice and inconsiderate.
The phone conversation I had with them wasnt very pleasant. They put me on hold if I didnt have an emergency and when I did ask my questions, the woman was very matter of factly and didnt even wait for me to say goodbye, she just said ... Otherwise you can come see the urgent doctor tomorrow at 7 am, okay goodbye.
Don’t bring your animals to this death house. Nothing but a bunch of non professionals in the office and the manager of this place knows NOTHING about customer service. Top dollar just to walk through the door and then the rip off begins. Avoid this place and don’t trust them with your animals.
Only place in sac and surrounding thst was able to take my pet in at 5am! Grateful and my poodle is doing well!!
Sat in my car for 2 and 1/2 hours while my current dog sat in a cage. Previously had to put my dog down here and she died while they had her in a different room before they brought her to be with us while she passed. Another dog of mine, a bulldog, died at 5 years old after we paid for a surgery to remove the skin from her throat and they didn’t remove it all like we asked and she died from that skin left which blocked her breathing. I’ve had enough and will never go back here. I do not trust them to care for my dogs.
Ive lived in Sacramento for about 30 years. Over the years, and moves, Ive tried various vet clinics. I feel like I finally found the one. They are so kind here, not just to you but your pet. They are super professional, have worked hard to be available but do it safely during Covid. Even for emergency visits, I find them to be MUCH more affordable then many other vet clinics in the region.
Sat in car in parking lot for over 2 hours in pouring rain. Dog coughing and vomiting all over back seat. 1 doctor on wil. Be long wait I was told due to emergencies. No bathrooms outside for custo.ets to use. No covered seating to take pet to stay dry and then charge emergency fee for being seen. I left after the 2 hours and my poor dog made a mess of my truck.in a office that is not stop all the time why only. 1 dr???? What if multiple critical came in. What about the customers waiting in the parking lots.
Weve been going to Bradshaw Vet for about 25 years. I love them! We have Teri Pate as our regular vet, and we cant say enough positive things about her. Very caring and compassionate, and always explains everything to us in detail.
I have been going here since the 90s for many different pets. Im sad to say I will no longer be a customer here. My dog Bella who is 16 years old just suddenly started having seizures and needed to be put on seizure medication after an Emergency Visit. It took days to get in contact with the Doctor to get Bellas prescription. I cant walk in the clinic because its covid 19. In the meantime Im calling in everyday because poor Bella is having multiple mild/moderate seizures. It broke my heart to see her go through that. I had to explain her condition to different vet techs over the phone and they told me the Doctor will be outta office for a few days. I wasnt allowed to see any other Doctors? I sent a video of Bellas seizure as evidence of her condition. The Doctor never got the video but she went ahead and approved the medication thank goodness! Apparently dogs take the same seizure medication as humans so I had to get the meds at walgreens because they would accept the veterinary doctors drug prescription ONLY if it was called in over the phone. I called Bradshaw VCA four times with in 2 hours time asking someone to call in Bellas prescription. I had to wait in Walgreens for about 2 hours at the pharmacy with people walking in and out during covid 19. Putting my health and safety at risk because the employees at Bradshaw wouldnt call it in??? What has happened to Bradshaw VCA? They showed very little concern for Bella and I health and safety They used to offer good service to pets and clients...but they just dont seem to care anymore..looks like they lost a long term customer.
Emergency services are the best. They treat our fur babies with respect.
I called before I drove an hour. The person I spoke with said there was a four hour wait and I said that was fine. It’ll take me an hour to get there anyways. She said fine, bring your dog down and we’ll take a look at him. And we hung up; she never asked me for my information. I get here a little over an hour later and they’ll all full and won’t see my dog who is in pain. I WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Saturday I had to make the hardest decision. I am beyond grateful at the care and compassion of each and every staff member I encountered that day. The staff was kind an courteous and when it came time to make the difficult decision, the ER Dr explained everything and made sure I was well informed. Everyone gave me time to say my goodbyes and never once rushed me or forced me into a decision. Even though it was an extremely difficult day, the Dr and staff made it a bit easier for me, and for that I will always be thankful.
NO STARS!. Dont go here. A rip off and do not help your pets if you cant afford there prices. I told the doc that I cannot afford $375 for just blood work, but please give my cat FLUIDS and an atibiotic that he recommended; which be the way is $385 with service call on its own. Zero, no signs that he did that, they just kept my cat in for over 2 hrs and did nothin. While my poor cat was having trouble breathing because he was severley conjested, DEHYDRATED and weak. Oh and when I said NOT to do blood work but do treatment HE HUNG UP ON ME. Because of covid thing we have to wait outside and call by phone. Next day I went to a small pet hospital and paid about $350 for BLOOD WORK, Exam, and MEDS for 10 days. I waseted $385 at VCA bradshaw for nothing.
I did a lot research after my dog was PTS .He hafterad stones which I now read is common .I let them know that I did not have 3000 dollars and one vet was just put him to sleep then like he was nothing .Then another vet came in said he would go ahead do it for 1500 I was so happy but yet I didnt understand that he was not confident enough to get stone out by surgery .They called in the middle of the night to tell my dog needed to be PTS .because he was not comfortable with doing the surgery and the cost would like 10k I now looked on line and cost are one like 1200 which I would have been able to come up with if neeeded because my dog was family .I had another vet that was willing to work with me but I really put my trust in these people .I got the bill yes they discounted it but I dont have my family member, I think they think I am stupid and just believe what they have told me, I feel disgusted and betrayed by them, My dog was only 4 years old and heathly otherwise I guess his life was not worth it .I wish they just would have told me the truth I have to live with my mistake and although I am poor I would gave my last dollar to save my baby . What happened to compassion ?Is it now only about money ?This why we have so many homeless animals because they make it so expensive and not willing to work with you .Oh and one of the vets had the nerve to say well we need to get paid this all while she was telling me if you dont have the 3000 put him to sleep and stop taking all my time, I feel cheated and I am sure they will move on as if his life meant nothing but it did to us.My baby is gone forever that is the saddest thing for us, I will only have to see these people one more time to pick up his ashes and Im regretting even going back there BABY BEAR YOUR LIFE MEANT SOMETHING TO YOUR FAMILY !!!!!!!!EVEN THOUGH YOU MEANT ONLY $$$$$ TOO THEM !!!!!!!Q12: Whats the prognosis for dogs undergoing bladder stone removal?Dr. Cathy: Prognosis is good; most patients do fabulously well. The biggest risks are associated with anesthesia. Once the stones are removed, they need to be identified to understand why they formed in the first place. With that knowledge, prevention of future problems is key to preventing future bladder stones.
Very helpful and the staff understand how pricey uninsured pets can get and really just want you and your pet to feel better
This is the place to go when its time to to say good bye. Compassionate . Yet spendy $$$
Bradshaw WAS a good animal hospital before it became VCA. We took a puppy in on April 5th but we were not able to go in due to Covid-19. Unfortunately, we ended up getting a new veterinarian who had NO clue of what she was doing. Our 9 week old puppy died a few hours after taking him to VCA due to the lack of her experience. Had we been able to go in and meet the Veterinarian, I would have requested someone with actual knowledge. Upon our puppy dying and still not know from what, we received a call from another Veterinarian a day later telling us that our fecal came back negative and she couldnt wait to see our puppy in the future. She proceeded to tell us that she loved his name. We were told the fecal had not even been sent before upon our puppy passing. Dont risk your beloved pet with this place. The staff couldnt even communicate with each other to know our puppy passed. I have been a long time customer but I would NOT EVER recommend this hospital. FIND A NEW VETERINARIAN and emergency hospital.
Wow, just called to see if they honor the General Health Check Voucher I received from the county after adpoting my cat. They do not have any openings for a week and 1/2. The voucher is only good for 3 days.
Love this place, absolutely loving staff that care about our fur babies with genuine affection! Thank you for taking care of my pets and me thru good and sad!! ❤️
My dog got a allergy shot. Made appt took about 15 minutes.
Unfortunately I am writing this positive review under sad circumstances. We lost our sweet cat recently to what we guess was getting hit by a car. The staff here were so caring and compassionate during such a terrible time for us. They did all they could to make our boy comfy before he had to be put down. We are so grateful and I highly recommend if you are in need if an animal hospital.
Dr. Silva and the staff are awesome. Made an appointment for one of our dogs and they got us in early and took care of her issues right away and when we mentioned we had our other dog in the car and needed to make an appointment for him, Dr. Silva said bring him in now and took care of his shots and a general check up. We are extremely satisfied with the care given by this vet office and Dr. Silva. Many Thanks
My dogs dead because of you
Our dog had to have major work on both her knees. From the moment we got there, Dr Roland and all of the staff at VCA made us and Bryn feel welcome and confidant in the process. Bryn is home now and doing well, thanks in part to the sound and clear instructions we got for her care. I cannot say enough good things about VCA.
They were kind and understanding during a difficult time .A reasonable rate for their service and I did not have to wait too long.
I have been dealing with this place for several months due to my puppy breaking her elbow, and I can honestly say I will NEVER go back. Lets see, they wrapped her leg wrong in the cast for 6 weeks and now her foot is crooked, they lost the microchip that I brought in for them to insert while she was in surgery, my poor dog is terrified to even set foot in the place (most likely because of that mean woman Hilda), you almost never speak to the same person, and she had her last surgery 2 days ago and Ive still yet to receive any aftercare instructions, even though Ive called about it. They were supposed to email them to me, but apparently after you pay for their services they dont care what happens to your dog. Youre much better off finding another place to go if you care anything about your pet.*Update: Today I received a package in the mail from this place (almost a month after her surgery) which contains the screws and plates that used to be in her leg. Gross! What a morbid thing to send someone in the mail! They didnt write a note or anything, just sent me her old hardware. There was zero reason why I would want or need this. If I didnt already dislike this place bad enough, I certainly do now.
Don’t go here .They charged me about another $400 a second emergency room visit in the same month and previously a couple hundred when they could’ve told me that my dog needs to stop eating puppy food and eat adult food because he has a sensitive stomach. About 500+ in wasted money in a month. The second visit was unnecessary. When I complained that they could’ve told me to switch his food the first time they said that’s between doctor and client instead of fixing the issue that they should’ve been clear the first time.
Customer service is definitely the top priority along with the care and need of your pet!!! They are very sweet and explain everything that is going on with your pet with love and respect. Very thorough with all medications that are needed and try there best to get you in and out in a timely matter worh you and your pets needs. Its been over 15 years and I have never been to a different veterinarian clinic or hospital. I consider them to be the best in the Elk Grove area.
I unfortunately had to put my cat down today and the Staff and Doctors here were extremely professional. Thank you all for what you do and your professionalism.
I adopted a kitten from the animal control on Front Street. My kitten was spayed on September 20th 2019. Later that night she was having breathing issues. I panicked and grabbed the forms that the animal control on Front Street gave me when I adopted my kitten. I got the number to Brad Street Animal Hospital from the Animal Control forms. I called Bradshaw animal hospital and told them that my cat was spayed this morning and now shes having trouble breathing and I got her from the animal control on Front Street their response was bring her in. I rushed her in and basically they gave me an estimate if I want to save her life which is $2,500 but they did not know what was wrong this is just a estimate to monitor her for the next two days when I told them I could not afford that they then asked me. how much am I willing to pay when I told them I had no more money to give them. when I arrived I handed them all the paperwork that the animal control gave me there was a number on that paper that was for emergency care that I should have called which I did not call you once I told Bradshaw that I had no more money and basically just let me euthanize my kitten instead of telling me that there is another place I could have took my cat that the animal control would have paid for but because they were not receiving any more financial money from me they gave me and my cat little regard. They had no compassion whatsoever for what was going on, yes it was my fault that I did not read my paperwork clear enough but at the same time all they kept asking about was how much money I was willing to pay. My bill was over $400 and I had no more money... They couldve gave me options and refer me to Animal Control...instead of letting me kill my kitten...she might still be alive if they would have just had a little bit more compassion and sat down and tried to explain everything to me instead of just kept asking me for money and money and money I thought you got into veterinarian work to save animals not for the money
I had a GREAT experience at this hospital. I brought in my rat, Stormy and Dr, Gray took exceptional care of us. She spent a lot of time figuring out the best treatment option for Stormy. The visit was affordable, the receptionist was helpful, and the facilities were clean and neat. If you love your pet, bring it to Bradshaw Animal Hospital for the best care possible.
I consider the people who work at Bradshaw Veterinary hospital to be Angels. Ironically I drive right past my Neighborhood Veterinary hospital I used to take my Dogs to every time I drive OUT OF TOWN to take my Dogs to where they have received the best care.I actually LOVE the Employees who work at Bradshaw Veterinary Hospital. I love them because like me they LOVE Animals and it shows. As soon as I walk through the doors of this Pet Hospital I know that whatever the current issue is with my Dogs it will soon be over. I cannot recommend this hospital any higher and I will never take my Dogs anywhere else.
Very good vet services and helpful on the phone. I always take my dogs for any emergency needs and theyre very supportive to my concerns.
I have been bringing my pets to Bradshaw Animal Hospital for about 15 years. I have never had a bad experience, the staff in the front office are friendly and understanding, always helpful. The Vets and Vet Techs have always been very understanding, provided information and options, and also providing the most affordable approach. Let me just say that Vet care is not cheap, and any vet I have been to, there is usually a wait. I continue to trust and rely on Bradshaw. I have meet many great Vets there, and that have always shown compassion towards my dogs and cats. I know that I have seen some longer wait times, I think during their computer change, staff changes etc. But that can happen at any business. I feel confident and comfortable that I can bring my pets here, after 15 years, I still think Bradshaw Vet is the BEST !
Fantastic service. Would euthanasia again 😢
I just came from my first free exam for a cat that I have. The receptionists was very nice to me one even came running out to give me a little baggie, the doctor on the other hand wasnt I let her know I got this cat about a month ago thinking it was my cat who had been gone for a bit got it home and realized it was a female (mine was a unaltered male and had gotten out before his appointment to get fixed so big difference) and we tried to find her home but no one claimed her so I guess we are keeping her now, well I let the doctor know all this and she then proceeded to act rude and as if it was my fault that the cat was pregnant even though I told her the cat came to me that way and forcefully said I should have the procedure which is over $850 dollars that I dont have, to get them killed because it is kitten season and cats are having too many kittens around here. Saying this to me she is also just assuming that Im not going to try and find every single one of them a home which I have already got two people wanting a couple, This was by far the worst vet visit I have ever had thanks to Dr.Silva and I will not be coming back. The only reason I gave two stars was because of the receptionists and how kind and helpful they both were.
My poor puppy was very sick. She was vomiting and had severe bowel movements. I brought her in and they tested her for parvo and thank goodness she tested negative. They gave her a shot to help with the vomiting and prescribed a antibiotic for her tummy issues and she was on her way to feeling better by the next morning. I am so grateful they had my little puppy feeling better so quick.
I’ve taken just about every animal I’ve owned to this vet clinic. Everything from appts, emergencies, wellness checkups and having our animals euthanized. The staff is so kind and helpful and the drs we’ve seen over the years have all been very courteous and knowledgeable. I really appreciate the care they give and recommend them to anyone. Thank you to all staff for being so committed to the wellness and quality of life for our animals.
We took our puppy in to get her final shots including rabies. We were told to come in, get her shots, and we would be good to go. We were charged an extra $60 for a consultation reassessment after seeing the doctor for 60 seconds. When I brought up the issue, I was told a doctor has to give the rabies shot. Even if that is the case, our puppy was checked out 2 months before so a reassessment is absurd. Unfortunately an extra $60 just lost this business thousands of dollars each year as we have multiple dogs.
This place is convenient open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and depending on the service required by yousome of their prices are reasonable and some of them are really expensive but in a pinch when that your animals hurt when you need someone right then theyre great
Ive come here for the past few years with both my dogs. All the staff and the vets have been nothing but patient and underrating with us. Theyre quick to take care of your animal and to provide the care needed. As a college student, I dont have much money, but they try to do only whats needed to save you from going into debt. Currently my 12 Chihuahua/Poodle mix is in their care due to a dog fight. The vet has called us last night and this morning to update us in his condition. They are a great place to take your pet, all the staff has been amazing!
Long wait but they are good and dont try to do things you dont need.
I have been taking all of our animals here for 4.5 years now. Thousands of dollars. At first, we loved them. The teams were attentive and compassionate. Over the last year, out of our 6 visits, two surgeries and one dog that reached the end of her days... their service, compassion and organization has plummeted. The most recent surgery has forced us to use them two more times for follow up. After that, we will never return. Sad, there are a couple of great doctors there. Unfortunately they are over worked, surrounded by a team that is there for just the job, and seemingly a management/ownership team that is not engaged. Tarna, Elk Grove/Wilton Resident for 7 years.
We brought our lab in for an emergency visit and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We received great care from Dr. Silva and the rest of the staff. We are thankful to have this Animal Hospital in town.
All I can say is this place is the best!!! My cat Oliver is there now after being close to death. They performed the surgery and Dr. Johnson has been so caring, calling me to update is progress (even while he was out of town). All of the staff care about the animals and their owners. Although this place is an hour from my house I will be returning for future care for my cat and dog.
They kept in contact a out the patients condition and recommended we bring in his favorite home food to get him to eat.Plus... 24 hours. And close to home...
I have had all of my dogs (5 total) come here for emergency care. They are always attentive and very informative with what your options are. I will continue to come here for my animals needs.
Quick and professional service, from the time I walked in the door. An emergency situation. Thank you for your assistance.
They take real good care of my dog.
I moved to Elk Grove in 1994 and began taking my pets to Bradshaw vets. They were a small place and not associated with VAC. They were awesome. The service has declined and the wait even with an appointment can be extensive. Ive begun searching for another clinic. Its really sad as I feel VCA management and front staff are missing the point about our fur family members. They seem to care more about making a buck. In an emergency Id definitely take my pet to Bradshaw vets as the doctors are awesome. For general/basic veterinary services-Im looking for options.
Always professional. Great vets. When I have a pet emergency this is where I go.
They would not treat my cat who was in pain with a blockage he couldnt urinate and was bleeding which can lead to kidney failure! The reason was I paid, i cant remember the total maybe around$1400.00 last july, I called for a final balance they gave it to me when I got there they all of a sudden added $254.00 approx. amount (two hundred fifty sonething) more!! This is the 2nd time they did that, the first time we spent almost $3000.00 on our dog, called for a final, when I got there they added $188.00!! Ridiculous!! So needless to say, they would not treat my cat until I paid the $255! After weve spent thousands there!! At least around about $10,000 we have spent on our animals there. They care more about the money now! They made that clear when they refused an emergency for a sick cat.
Please do not bring your pet here. They care more about money than they do about taking care of your pet. Especially in an emergency situation, they will try to milk you for as much as they can. Please do yourself and your best friend a favor and take your pet somewhere else, so you dont spend needless money on procedures, X-rays and exams that you dont need and will not solve the problem. My dog does not need a $4000 sex change he needs a catheter. 0 Stars
Very kind. They helped me go through one of the hardest things a pet parent has to do.
They are so caring, always explain things in detail amd give you all the possible options.
Went through the ER my dog was in shaking in pain but they didnt want to give him any painkillers until they got paid. And this has not been the first time where money was the first thing they wanted instead of wanting to help my dog...
Really take care of your animals
Weve gone here for over 12 years with 5 dogs and have always found the medical and support staff to be friendly, thoughtful, knowledgeable and very professional. Even though its a 40 minute drive for us, weve never even thought we might take our pets anywhere else.
Ive been coming for over 30 years. Knowledgeable doctors who are caring-its gotten a bit pricey though.
In n out quickly
I truly appreciate the doctors and staff at VCA Bradshaw. They are all so kind and helpful. Could not imagine going anywhere else for pet care.
I love the care they give my animals. They are quite expensive but you get what you pay for!
A couple months ago we brought our Rottweiler in for an emergency exam. We had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Wahlen. She was kind and she was patient and she genuinely cared about our dog and his needs. Unfortunately it was his final visit to the vet but Dr. Wahlen handled it beautifully. She gave us time with him and allowed us to be there every step. She took the time to go over every option and all timeframes. Our Rottweiler was not a fan of the vet ever but that didn’t deter Dr. Wahlen she tried anyway until she succeeded. Great place to go where patience and understanding is the main focus. Thank you Dr. Wahlen for everything!
I trust them completely with my pets.
2 years ago, My cat got sick. His vet VCA Elk grove didnt do emergency. So, We took him to Bradshaw which I had known from my ex-mother-in-laws dealings with them. We got in. She immediately started with the cheap tests as she called them. Everything had come back negative except his O2 was extremely low. She said at that point, we could do more testing which would be expensive. She said she thought it was cancer or an autoimmune issue. She suggested give him steroids and take him home. Not once did she mention she didnt think he would survive. She did warn us, if he didnt start eating after 7 days, that was deadly and putting him down would be the only option. He got better. We took him back for a follow up, and she said she thought we would bring him back dead. Now all my cats see her. I would recommend taking any animal there. I know they are good with big and small.
I’ve now brought two animals here. My guinea pig was sick. They gave him meds and he died within an hour. Guinea pigs live short lives so I didn’t think much of it. A month later my dog got sick so i brought her. 300$ later they gave me two weeks of pills and sent me in my way. She became sick right after she got off the meds so I took her into the emergency appointment and 500$ later they sent me with two more weeks of meds. The day her meds ran out she went back to having the same issue and all they said was to come back in to look at her and get her on more meds. I feel that this place just wants your money and doesn’t want to help your pet in the long run.
Great vet. Takes very good care of animals. Seems like in the past before it was vca they charged less.
Very good service and good prices. They also have someone who specializes in reptiles so now I know where to take my precious crested gecko if she has problems.
This is the Second time I called this Vet to plead for help for my dog. I have lost my baby puppy a few years ago to Parvo. I was unemployed at time and could not afford a Drs visit. I explained to Bradshaw Vet but was told NO. Later my puppy passed and it broke my heart. I called just now to get help. My dog is dehydrated and I only have 100.00. Once again no help as I cant afford. I find it funny too that u can never get a regular appointment only Emergencies which cost more. Your office clearly dont care about animals and it is a paycheck to you. Guess you lose the passion for Animals when Money is a equation. It saddens me to think I will lose another animal due to finances.
My sister was visitibg from out oftown on vacation and while here her 14 year old dog had a seizure. The dog was taken to a nearby veterinarian that checked her out for possible poisoning and other things. All tests came back negative. Two days later, the dog had another seizure, wetting herself, unable to walk after, seemingly blinded and having labored breathing. This was in the middle of the night. My sister and brother-in-law were very upset and realized she had had a possible stroke. They watched her and babied her for several hours but things just worsened. They made the pain staking decision to take her in and have her euthanized because she was not in good condition. Upon arriving at Bradshaw, both the clerk and the technician in the front were unprofessional and somewhat giddy to my sisters feelings and horrified story of having to put her companion of 14 years down so unexpectedly. They showed no empathy or understanding. My sister was told that the doctor on duty would examine her dog first. While waiting the girls continued to snicker at my sisters position. The doctor, after waiting some time, came in and asked a few questions. Her response, without any examination, was cold and casual. She merely stated,Well, I guess its her time.. If youd like to stay with her its another forty dollars.. They swiftly took the dog from my sisters arms and walked out. The entire situation was handled poorly and unsympathetically. My sister received no knowledge, no support and definitely no friendliness. Just a bill for services and a broken heart. Also wondering if her dogs last moments were handled with care and comfort and even taken care if humanily. I have since looked up other emergency vets in the area just in case I should need a doctor after hours. I can honestly say I will try to avoid Bradshaw Emergency Vet in Elk Grove, Ca
No compassion, interested in profiting off of feelings and your beloved family members death. Will not ever recommend them. Very wrong place to be.
Dr. Silva saved two of my dogs lives when they had a bad reaction to a rabies shot. I have always received great service from the staff at the clinic.
Dr. Pate is the most amazing vet .... period. I cannot thank her enough for her work with my doberman, Kali, who has been a problem child (to say the least)! Dr. Pates judgement is gold to me! I have always felt that Dr Pate cares about my dogs and that she is the most knowledgeable vet Ive ever been in contact with. I have 5 dogs, and they wont go anywhere else! After reading the reviews, I understand that bradshaw can be more expensive than other vets. I dont mind paying a few extra dollars to give my dogs the best- Dr. Pate is the absolute best!
Today we had to say goodbye to our sons mastiff/pit mix, Maverick. The entire staff was so compassionate and sensitive. I truly felt cared for. Im crying as I write this, but wanted to provide a review letting people know that Dr. Woodberry was great. We were given a blanket for Mavi to lay on while we spent as long as we wanted with him. Then Dr. Woodberry sat on the floor with us, explained what would happened, and he very peacefully passed away. Thank you so much VCA/Bradshaw.
I brought my Akita in on an emergency. They did tests and found that she had very advanced spleen cancer. Her spleen pulled her stomach down, and she got torsion (bloat). We had to lose her, but they were so azingly compassiomate. I will take all my my animals there from now on. The vet we had before could have saved her, if he had paid attention more.
Got our dog in on the same day! Important for people who work
Great doctors who care about you and your pets!
We have been coming here for over 20 years combined. They have always taken great care of us.
Awesome. Just love this clinic! Dr. Zatkin and Dr. Kwok, you rock. Thank you for always taking such great care of my babies. And thank you to all of the great vet techs! My cat Cosmo got a fabulous new look today! My pets and I always receive superior care at this clinic. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. Please thank the tech who gave Cosmo a lion cut today, she is so happy now that she is even being nice to the dogs (not usually her style).Thank you again!Katie Grogan
Brought in a pet, got charged about 1000$ for treatment(which is okay since a lot what was tested) but once we said we didn’t have enough to pay for extra exams, they acted rude. We asked how much medication would be, and were told it would be a waste to give since we probably wouldn’t be able to afford it.
