I needed to know some info on Social Security Benefits on my grandchildren that I have custody of. I spoke with “Brittany” and she was so very helpful. I was so confused before I called on a few things and she spend a lot of time helping me to understand my options. She was very patient with me! It’s very much appreciated that she was so kind and understanding with my confusion!!

Just wanted to share. Need a name change for my son. Called to inquire what documents were required with the understanding that it may not be in person. They ACTUALLY suggested that I mail in my drivers license (not a copy) they real card!! I inquired as to what would happen if I got pulled over (I generally dont make it a habit) and the answer was I dont know and it sounded more like I dont really care. I understand we are in unprecedented times but complete and utter idiocy it NOT required.

I had such a positive experience from start to finish. The security guard was so polite and helpful. He opened the door for me, since I was carrying my four month old in a car seat and had my two year old by his hand, while also carrying a binder of paperwork and a diaper bag. He let me know when they called my number since I didn’t want my children to disturb anyone, so I waited near the entrance inside the double doors. He saw I needed help and gladly did so. I hope he reads this. His kindness really made my day. I wish others were more like you. I will be calling to make sure your supervisors know how wonderful and helpful you were today. Thank you, Sir.

This place is hardly ever okay. I mean, who wants to come here. Its dry, stale, and theyve even made me cry before. More than once. So its no picnic. But we gotta take care of business because we have to eat and take care of our babies I only wish they could be disabled without income for a month before they got hired on there. Then there might be a little more heart in the place. I mean put a flower in the place. Crack a smile. Shake a hand. Most of us arent faking and we arent doing much else but suffering, to be honest. So have a heart! (Was i too harsh?) Freedom.

This is based on one phone call with one employee. Ill change my star rating if I receive better service in the future. He was a male employee. I see somebody elses one star review based on an interaction with a male employee who said This isnt an entitlement program, and it makes me wonder if I got that same employee. I think hes in the wrong career if this is how he normally treats people in need.I called to schedule an appointment for a family member to get him started on disability. This family member worked a factory job until he could no longer, and he was sent to the hospital with severe medical problems that he would have for the rest of his life-- Medical problems that came very close to killing him. His workplaces short term disability was running out, and it became clear that he would need to get on disability in order to live. He is no longer mobile, he has severe breathing problems that will not get better, and he can now only communicate through ASL (which, thankfully, he was already fluent at).Ive never received help from public assistance programs. Ive been lucky and privileged enough to be financially stable, living a middle class lifestyle, and to have the good health to work. My husband and I, who are helping this family member, also only have limited knowledge on all of this, and thats why we called to set up an appointment. All I asked for was to schedule an appointment. I didnt give details unless they were asked for. And this man, after he demanded details, actively tried to give reasons why we shouldnt be making this appointment. He KEPT repeating, This isnt a quick financial fix over and over again (which I was already aware of). It was very odd and very presumptuous, considering that literally the only thing I was asking for was to get an appointment set up. He kept downplaying my family members condition without even fully knowing his condition. I kept giving reasons why I HAD to make an appointment for this family member, which was completely and utterly unnecessary. I shouldnt have had to justify the circumstances just to set up an appointment. I felt like I was being lectured on finances (and trust me, Im fine when it comes to finances).Maybe some training is in order. I believe wholeheartedly in these social programs. I have no problem giving my tax money to those in need. And, I SINCERELY hope that this judgmental employee doesnt do this to every person who needs help.UPDATE: I changed my 1 star rating to a 3 star. We spoke to a female employee who was absolutely lovely and treated us with respect. She gave us no trouble or judgment. She got us an appointment scheduled much sooner than the man did, oddly. It makes me think he was just trying to make this process more difficult for us. That man needs to take some lessons from her about compassion and how to properly talk to people.

The lady working in window #4 on thurs. morning apr 19, 2018 at the Elizabethtown, KY office needs a severe attitude adjustment. It was a prime representation of how messed up our government is as a whole. My wife and have a newborn child who is adopted. We have had to make three trips to a ssa office to obtain our childs SSA # because of misinformation that has been shared with us by various SSA associates. This morning we walked in with birth certificate and certified decree from our court hearing for the adoption finalization, the items we were told to bring. We also had our childs insurance card and my wifes Id. All these items were on a list to bring given to us from a manager on a previous trips.Tlady is window 4 spoke to my wife in a degrading tone bluntly stating no phones allowed when my wifes phone rang in the waiting area and went further to inform that we need yet another form identity to obtain our childs ssa # request. This was never shared to us on previous trips. Thankfully my wife had brought our childs whole filing cabinet and medical documents that were accepted as appropriate for submitting the request. So after over 4 hours of driving (all 3 trips included) and various red tape we would like to thank the SSA in making the request for our childs ssa # so simple. I think next time well just go live in mountains and stay off the grid. Please take action to make this process easier for other families adopting. Its challenging enough without all this headache. All SSA associates should be on the same page when explaining documents needed for such situations.

There is a male worker here that needs to loose his job, extremely rude more than one occasion. This isnt an entitlement program, Not my problem (out of the blue) - when weve done nothing wrong except whats been asked of us to do. Totally uncalled for.. If you meet him you will know who he is. Will be making farther calls on this so called worker.
