I really like this gym. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The only suggestion I would make is to increase the number of lighter free weights. The 30lbs and below are always in use while there are full racks of heavy weights that seem unused.

Its a good gym for the money. If you want luxury go somewhere else. This works for a lot of people, because it has what its needed and low cost. Highly recommended. 👌

Location is big, and has most of the machines required for a workout. It’s a little lacking on the free weights department, but for $10 a month, you can’t go wrong. Facility looks clean, parking lot is big, and staff is friendly and accommodating. It’s no LA Fitness, but worth a trip to consider and worth the ten dollars a month. Check it out and ask for a tour to see if it fits your needs.

Pros: This location is very clean and so are the locker rooms. There are disinfectant sprays and paper towels in every corner which I love. SOME of the staff members are very nice and helpful.Cons: Very tiny gym and not many machines- so you’re forced to wait until people are done (the more commonly used machines)I would like to see more mats in the stretching room as wellYou get what you pay for but I would highly recommend the black card because some locations are busier than others- this one is very busy in my opinion whether it’s peak hours or not but then again, it’s a small gym.

Let me start by saying I’m not usually a fan of planet fitness. This one is close to where I moved to and I was thoroughly impressed. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the gym was extremely clean, the patrons were cleaning up after themselves and restocking the weights, everyone was friendly and courteous and respectful of your personal space. Good crowd, nobody was Loitering around or occupying a machine while glued to their phones. This planet fitness got it right. Def going back and possibly making this my home gym. Very impressed. The ladies at the front desk were professional, friendly and courteous. That’s not usually the case in most planet fitness gyms. Definitely and highly recommend this gym.

Gym is clean but tends to be very crowded in the evenings and into the night. There are 2 sets of small dumbbells (5lbs and 7.5) for ALL members. Made multiple requests to get more sets but nothing ever happened. There is little to no space to do any functional free weight exercises. Overall, you get what you pay for. The gym has all the basic equipment you need in terms of machines and heavier dumbbells.

Equipments need upgrades and. At least 2 or 3 of each ones. Most of them are only one, forcing you to wait on the person working first. Please we are paying good money to seriously enjoy great service. Besides its something thats common to all planet fitness I have been to.

Very bad management, the manager is very rude (Taylor). You will never feel welcome at this facility. They barely say good morning if theyre in the mood, you can tell the people that works here are doing it for other reasons besides the work environment.

They NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. Still no classes. This location bit smaller, sardine space than others. But, guess will work if space doesnt matter to you.Cancelling my membership.

The gym has decent amount of space. Had a few weird experiences though. I recommend going early or late. For that healthy pump. A lot of envious men in there around 12pm. Real bodybuilders dont hate.

No even a single stool in black card zone. No place to seat. Why I’m paying for black card?And yes, they not gonna let you workout if you re wearing usual surgical mask.

Someone pop the whole entire lock off my locker and stole my stuff, the locker cannot be locked anymore. I have seen more lockers like that, so I havent been the only victimvictim. Lockers need to be more secure, its not safe.

Great staff place is clean . Especially with covid they doing a great job making sure the machines cleaned and sanitized.

This location was convenient because it’s only 10 minutes, however after covid some things were removed like the ropes to use with the cable machine. When I ask the front desk I was told he has no ideas where they keep the accessories, but when I went to the Woodbridge location they had all the accessories to use with the cable machine, I also went to Linden and they also had all the accessories available.After visiting both location, I notice how clean and less smelling those location are the fan are working properly and it’s not crowded like the location in Elizabeth.

This is the best one i been so far. The only thing is that they close way to early! They should go back to 24hr :((( so sad

In this covid era, gym a bit empty which is good. Cleaning supplies still stacked for before and after use of machines so please use. No showers available. No big deal

Really nothing wrong with this gym, when I used to go a couple years ago people were always friendly, no issues. However I haven’t been in about two years and unfortunately they don’t let you call or email to cancel memberships so I sent certified mail through USPS to their address (as specified in their site as one of the only two ways to cancel, the other being in person and i would rather not during covid) and it got returned to sender. I filed a complaint with usps and they told me delivery was rejected. Now there’s no other way for me to cancel without going in person.Really a poor way to do business in my opinion, would change my review if it wasn’t for this situationUpdate:I called and spoke with Tyler and the phone who was very helpful and cancelled it for me right away. I appreciated the quick response.

Walked in the gym with my fiancé and first thing I thought was COVID-19 is definitely in this gym. The gym was filthy the air quality appeared to be foggy.it was packed! No hand sanitizer in the machine. No staff on the floor making sure that the floors were swept or cleaning the machine. And no social distancing. I’ll stick to Irvington where it’s clean at. This gym makes me itch.

My wife and my kid were very excited to get back to the gym. when they got there they were stop by one of the attendants she was told (my wife) that she couldnt go in because she was not wearing the correct mask but if she needed one they were selling them for four dollars. my wife pointed out that there were other people wearing the same mask which it was a surgical mask. he then told one of his colleagues to deliver a free of charge mask to the person my wife pointed out. My wife told him he was inconsistent and in return he said oh you want me to buy you a mask now? Which she never did and as anybody would act my wife told him that was not the case and more likely she would cancel her membership and in return he dared her to do it in front of him that moment. Nice guy there were other things I didnt mention like she felt she was racial profile but you guys be the judge

Worst service. They would find all possible excuses to avoid having my membership canceled but they kept charging me. System is down. Manager is off duty. No phone or online cancelation, i would have to pay $60 -$100 if i canceled it today but free if i come back the next day, etc. I had to go to the store over 10 times to finally have it canceled. On top of that, they charged me the annual fee the first month i joined the gym. Also, they charged a day before the shutdown for covid19 and then they charged me again a few days after they reopened. Ridiculous.

I told them what the point just cancel it on the phone. They said they dont do that. Scam business it shouldnt be that difficult to cancel.

I and my friends went to workout at planet fitness in Elizabeth NJ and was denied entry into the building because I had on surgical masks vs the regular cloth masks. The surgical masks are the much more preferred and safer option regarding protection against covid-19 virus and I tried to explain this to the guy at the desk, he still refused to let me into the building but instead insisted I would only be allowed access if I purchased the planet fitness cloth masks for $4. I wasn’t sure if this was racial profiling or it’s just planet fitness trying to make money off the pandemic. It makes no sense for me to put my life and the life of others at risk when I can clearly use a mask that’s safer for everyone.I sent them an email regarding my concerns and I have attached their response. Their mask policy clearly states that all members are required to wear a mask at the gym. So I’m not sure where they came up with the rules of using cloth masks only. At this point I and my friends are likely to cancel or memberships and go elsewhere if this issue isn’t addressed ASAP.

Do you guys plan on going back to a 24hr schedule anytime soon?

Fairly quiet place, nice people

A place where 40% of the machines are out of service while we pay the monthly payment on time and the machines remain out of service for months.

I like the equipment. The place is clean and everything is sterilized after use. The staff is usually open and friendly. No one seems to be there for anything else but a good workout. Would have given 5 stars but equipment maintenance doesnt seem a top priority. 1 machine has been down for over a month.

This gym is honestly just disappointing!If you’re looking to work out without having to deal with idiots, this is NOT the gym for you! It has such great potential, amazing floor plan, and plenty of space! Yet it seems to always be occupied with people who don’t want to do anything accept crowd up machines while they sit on their phones or use spaces designated for specific workout for the wrong reasons! I get that it’s a gym for “everyone” but when you have a slogan like that, you’re just asking for all the airheads who go to the gym to fool around while people like my girlfriend and I are left frustrated because we can’t finish all the workouts we planned. Worst part, my complaints fall on death ears!! The employees won’t do anything to fix the issue, they’ll just tell you to not go during “peak hours” witch is BS because I shouldn’t have to change my schedule a million times because the gym is packed with people who aren’t actually working out! Besides, peak hours or not, they’re still there! The only difference is the volume! I don’t mind a busy gym, but when someone is literally sitting on the ONLY machine you need for 30 minutes farting around....it’s just frustrating!I’ll be canceling my membership and going to another gym. Hope this review helps anyone reading avoid wasting their time! Trust me it’s not worth it!!!

I visited the facility on 9/28/2020 for the first time since they reopened. I went inside with my KN 95. mask and I was told by the manager that i wasnt able to wear that mask inside the facility . He said: that i need to wear a cloth facemask and that is the requirements from the CDC and also the company. A cloth face mask does not have a filter and cannot protect anybody from getting sick. I was told by the manger I can purchase one from them because they sell them for $4.00 each and not used my KN95 face cloth mask.I have to say: The CDC would never ruled out that you can be safe using a mask that has no filter. I find this new ruled the most ridiculous company policy ever. Or is another way to make extra money for the time the placed were closed.

Opened 24/7 you have no excuse, you have to apply yourself, set a little time a side at a time, and youll be working out a half or maybe even an hour a day, as it becomes a healthy feel good daily routine, youll notice how much time you really have!

I went for job training and they straight lied on me to my boss. thats very unprofessional. i came there without my paper but before I came I called and explain to them what happen. I didnt know I had to wear a certain pants color. so I went to Forman mills and get the pants I need and they said thats not good enough. then tells me they gonna reschedule me. they told my boss that they gave me money to get the pants. and I was rude. number one how you give me money and I was rude ?? Thats crazy how they stop me a black man from working. and I wasnt even working for that location. was treated unfair and I wanted and still wants to be a employer

I want to give this gym more stars but it’s mostly for the after workout massage. From 7-11 the gym is over packed with weights everywhere and people who don’t put anything back and staff that doesn’t care. There is no one to help you work out or train like they tell you when you sign up and the night time staff(mostly one of the girls) is rude or act like your bothering them if you ask questions. idk i’ll re review if things improve :/ if you go during the day or in the morning it’s a whole lot better.

The staff needs better training. They dont circulate through the gym. You have the meatheads working out here in bodybuilding tanks (not allowed) staring at themselves in mirrors... And, no lie, today I saw one bench pressing his girlfriend. Then you have people sitting on their phones at the machines, for 10-15 minutes, in the 30 minute workout area as though its a lounge... Kinda kills your circuit training if you have to skip 3 machines.

3 star is for lack of machines and inadequate workout space. among all bench press machines, only one is balanced, the remaining3 are imbalanced which actually affects a person’s body proportion. Furthermore, when the trainer is one location he claims every machine and does not let others use it which is outrageous.

I have more than 1 hour and a half waiting for someone to answer my phone call to make a change of location, I called more than 3 times and in the last one they hung my phone call. It seems to me a lack of respect that they do not pay attention to me and that the only help I wanted was to upgrade and change location because I just do not want to return to this PF for months. TERRIBLE customer service, I have also been trying to change my payment method for months, and this time it was personally and remains unchanged. I feel the need to cancel my membership in PF thanks to PF Elizabeth NJ. Thanks guys for doing NOTHING to help me and especially thanks to Tyler for never calling me back after the supposed 10 min. It is worth mentioning that I already tried to make each of my requirements online and it was not possible.

They need more machines, as in peak times it gets impossible to workout properly. Also a lot of people in rush hours are very *undesirable* as they come from the lesser desirable parts of the neighborhood. Other than that, if you go at a good hour, this is by far the best place to get results. I think some people are just ignorant, especially in Elizabeth. Believe me they make the experience just horrible. Oh well, time to wake up at 4am to avoid the trash!

Worst Experience Ever!I was actually very interested in becoming a member after my son being enrolled for 2 years. I came in excited to join, when I was shocked by the poor customer service. I was with my 8 year old daughter and we needed to use the bathroom really badly. As soon as I was done using the bathroom, I was going to enlist myself as a member. However, when I asked Kim for permission, she blatantly told me I couldnt if I didnt have the little card. Which is shocking because my son tends to forget his card at home and they always give him an alternate way of signing in (I pay for my sons membership). To my surprise, she didnt offer any other options but for me and my daughter to have to drive all the way back home to get the card and only THEN we could use the restroom. Upon my arrival, Kim acted as if she didnt even know who I was as I gave her the card, asking if that was good enough for her. At this point, my need to use the restroom went away as I was very upset with the customer service. Instead of gaining a new member, I cancelled my sons membership, and went straight to joining another fitness gym.

Probably why is not even on the top 10 chains.1
