Alma was a God sent angel, my mother passed away which was very difficult for the whole family & Alma was there from beginning to end of the services. Highly recommended
Luis provided excellent attention to detail, answered all my questions, returned calls promptly & made for a very sympathetic & caring Director! Id highly recommend him for anyones needs! Outstanding customer service skills!
Very professional crew, met all of our expectations. Serene and calming rooms for the viewings. Appreciated the cleanliness of the establishment and respect displayed due to our loss. Highly recommend Hillcrest Funeral Home - West
I was extremely pleased with the entire team at the Hillcrest Funeral Home-West. They were very kind and extremely understanding to all our needs at these critical moments to our family. I will really want to personally thank Alma for everything that she did for us. Once again thank you all for your professionalism and attention to detail. A outstanding job.
Thank you Hillcrest Funeral Homes West for my fathers beautiful services. We were in great hands, Thank you Luis.
Service was excellent and I was very satisfied with the staff and attention we received. Funeral Home director is very attentive and so is his staff.
I am extremely grateful, and want to give a special thanks to, Alma Salazar Lavender - Funeral Director at Hillcrest Funeral Home on Doniphan (west - El Paso) and her entire staff. Alma and her staff made this entire difficult and painful time, easier and less painful. Alma was patient, understanding and not pushy when it came to my father, my siblings and I making decisions regarding my mothers funeral arrangements. Alma guided us through every step and took her time explaining and addressing every question or concern we had, She made sure we were comfortable with the decisions we needed to make and allowed us all the time we needed; never felt rushed. Her staff; from ushers, to front desk receptionist, and service directors were all very professional and understanding. I also want to extend a special thanks to Jesus Delgado - Funeral Director (HS Central - EP), who had assisted my brother and his family last year with my nephews services at this location. Even though Jesus had moved to their central location, he made sure our family was placed in good hands and assisted us in transitioning to work with Alma. He stayed in contact to ensure nothing feel through the cracks and that we were being taking care by Alma and her staff.
Staff is very kind and compassionate and they assisted to our needs in the most compassionate and professional manner.
Hillcrest preaches far beyond what they can practice. Funeral services are the last goodbyes and the last memories many will carry of their deceased, thus expecting funeral homes to provide only the best that they possibly can provide. My family decided on Hillcrest because we honestly believed that this funeral home would be able to make my mothers funeral service memorable. They definitely made it memorable, but in the worst imaginable way possibly. My mothers service was to start at 0900, and they had us waiting for an hour for services to start. My mother was unrecognizable. My mother passed away peacefully and you would think that Hillcrest would be able to make her look the way she looked, seeing as we provided pictures so they could fix the body to match how my mother always looked. Well, this was not the case. The makeup was beyond dark for my light complected mom. The makeup was also so heavy that it looked like patches of mud. Her eyebrows were made dark and beyond thick. I honestly couldn’t recognize the body of my own mother. The package we had purchased also came with catering, well, Hillcrest was beyond late with the food. The food was scheduled to arrive at 11:00 AM and ended up arriving at 19:30 after all the guest had gone home. Hillcrest is beyond worse than even the cheapest funeral home in the El Paso region. Please consider your options twice.
Several of my family members have past away and my family and i have all used Hillcrest funeral home. The greatest services with compassion and professionalism were done for my father, step father, brother and cousins. Weve chosen cremations and burials with different family members. All services were done with great dedication from Alma the manager and all staff. I highly recommend this place!!!!
The services at Hillcrest Funeral Home were outstanding and the staff were so caring and compassionate with everything they had brought me for my own comfort while I was there as well as my family. They gave me good reasonable prices that worked for me and as well as putting effort and care into the pictures that were represented in the viewing. Overall, had great, wonderful service.
Alma Levender was very helpful to me as I had to deal with the death of my father, who is veteran, in a long distance manner (2,000 miles) including assistance with scheduling of his service with Ft. Bliss. He passed away in late December during the height of COVID problems and many other funeral homes were not able to assist me. Thanks again to Alma and Hillcrest West Funeral Home.
We were very pleased with Hillcrest Funeral Home for the excellent job they did for our fathers funeral. The entire service was well-done, and they went above and beyond our expectations. With compassion and kindness, the director, Alma, made sure everything went smoothly, and she addressed all our needs and concerns. We are also appreciative of Melissa, who did a great job putting together a DVD of photos and memories from our fathers life. We now have a beautiful memento for our family to enjoy for years to come.In sum, we are very thankful for the service and attention provided to our family during this time. Thank you Hillcrest!Sincerely,A Grateful Family
No one ever wants to have to use the services of a funeral. However, when the unexpected happens having knowledgeable, patient, caring, and sympathetic staff to guide and help you is truly a blessing.
The entire staff at Hillcrest Funeral Home made our experience as pleasant as could be expected during that difficult time for our family. They showed great compassion and respect for our family. Jesus was very patient and thorough with us while we went through the entire process. Pepper was amazing! She went above and beyond on ensuring that my Dads video was perfect. I highly recommend Hillcrest and their entire staff.
I was very happy with all the attentions on my sons funeral arrangements as well as the viewing. It made me so happy to see him for the last time. I also love the cards and specially the ones for the family members. Thank you so much for your help♥️🙏👌I really appreciated 💯
We appreciated the services of Hillcrest for our family. Due to COVID restrictions, we requested a simple direct cremation service. The services were provided as discussed the staff was responsive and caring.
The hillcrest funeral home assisted my family with the passing of my grandfather and other members of my family, and I was very pleased with the services & staff
Very kind and helpful but dont give me everything
We could not have been more impressed with the team at Hillcrest West. Their attention to detail was impeccable, down to the smallest details. For example, I let them know up front that it was important to me that there were no errors in any of the written materials, so they would call meand send me proofs of everything before it was printed. They walked with us every step of the way through an extremely difficult time and we never felt like they were just in it to make a profit; they truly cared about our loved one and our familys loss. In the end, we were able to honor our loved one with a beautiful experience because of the support of the Hillcrest West team. Thank you.
Extremely supportive and compassionate care given by Jesus Delgado and Pepper Corell. I recommend this Hillcrest whole heartedly. There were complexities with this case and they handled them well, taking care of things that I tested I would have to do by myself. Professional and competent but also friendly, I feel that I’ve made lifelong friends, believe it or not.
Our experience with the caring and efficient personnel helped make a difficult situation much easier. They accommodated our family requests and met all our needs with a positive attitude.
I am purchasing your service for the future, but I would be happy to relay my recent purchase experience with your sales representative. Juanita was empathetic, knowledgeable, reassuring, and VERY helpful. She is a treasure, and I feel very comfortable about my decision.

Juanita was very helpful, she also provided all information that I needed. She made it very comfortable and is a professional at her job. Thank you.
All of the employees at Hillcrest Funeral Home West were wonderful. They were caring and compassionate and went out of their way to make sure everything was just as I wanted it for my husband. The staff, starting with Jesus Delgado, the funeral director, Melissa Corell, the administrative assistant, the two ushers Nathaniel Trejo and Christian Rubalcava were supportive and all my requests were taken care of with dignity. A special thank you to Melissa for answering all my questions no matter when I called her.
I would like to thank the people at Hillcrest Funeral Home for there professionalism in this hard times. Everything went more than excellent, real friendly people and real professional, I really thank you and my family does too. Sincerely Jose A. Quintana

Everything youll need for your loved ones remembrance is explained to you and with on-site cremations, you can rest assure that your family member is gonna be properly taken care of. Were glad we chose Hillcrest West.
The staff did a wonderful job of walking us through the whole process. They paid attention to every detail and helped us with every need. Thank you for helping us get through this difficult period.
The staff is professional, extremely caring, understanding, and efficient. The entire staff went over and above what was expected to make a very difficult time a bit easier for my family. We are very thankful for all they did, and I could not recommend them more.
The staff and the funeral home surpassed our expectations. They helped us in a difficult time with their expertise. No pressure to purchase more expensive things. Just what we wanted. Would highly recommend.
During this most difficult time, even with some unexpected changes that were requested by me and my family, Hillcrest Funeral Home - West’s staff and our Funeral Director, Velia Lozano, performed flawlessly. My mother’s Vigil, Funeral, and Burial were wonderful events that were made possible through the careful planning and attention to detail from Velia and Hillcrest. There was none of the sales pressure that you hear of from other establishments. We asked to work with our own florist; they accommodated that seamlessly. The music accompanying my mom’s video tribute was beautiful and appropriate. Our drive to the Church and Cemetery were comforting as our questions and comments to our driver, Melissa, were met with compassion and kindness, not just businesslike responses. The pricing was reasonable and we actually received more than we expected. We forgot to pick up our flower vases; they reminded us. It would be easy to experience added stress at a time of grief, but Hillcrest made sure that my mother’s funeral arrangements added none of that stress. Five stars doesn’t seem like enough; my family and I highly recommend Hillcrest - West.
The attention and the service were the best that anyone could receive very friendly and helpful caring staff. Everything went as planned. Thank you Hillcrest Funeral home West.
Our Moms funeral was in June, earlier this year, 2019 - about 5 months ago, and with all that has transpired since, we have been meaning to provide this review sooner - in any case, here it is now.Losing a Mom like our Mom is a very tough thing, but Melissa (Pepper), and Velia, the Location Manager, and the entire team were so good to us, so attentive, and so willing to go the extra mile for us in any way we needed.I could go on and on about them both and the entire staff and many little attentive details that meant the world to us during a challenging time. This includes Melissas special and empathetic and compassionate style from the first call that was comforting and reassuring for hurting and disoriented hearts and all the extra things she did including watching over and keeping our special needs boy occupied while we met with Velia to start the preparations and arrangements on our first visit. (Since we were in from out of town, we had to bring him with us to the funeral home, and she stood right up to keep him entertained without us asking. Believe me, that is a special skill and characteristic.)Then Velia, what can I say - her professionalism, coupled with her patience and her compassion as well, was there for us from beginning to end and even beyond from the first arrangements to graveside dedication and all the services in between. She responded to late night calls and early morning emails and was always timely with her responses and took care of any concerns or questions we had. In addition, Velia assisted in applying the makeup, requesting photos, so as to make our Mom look as natural as possible for the viewing. That meant a lot to us too.Velia also followed up with us immediately the day after the funeral to see if there was anything else we needed and at various times since then. She kept us advised of death certificates, emailing a copy before the originals arrived and continued to answer our questions about the online memorial where family and friends could leave comments and the memorial book to be printed on behalf of my Mom.Velia and Melissa and the entire staff were amazing and went the extra mile for us in so many ways and have continued to so since the funeral. We are grateful to the entire staff there and always will be and perhaps more importantly, as Mom would have wanted, we feel that we made some great friends. We feel confident that from her vantage point, Mom was pleased and happy for how we were able to remember her and how the staff took care of her boys and our family with the beautiful services. She is grateful no doubt, and so are we. Thank you.
Rolled out the red carpet during this difficult timePersonnel go above n beyond to help you.You can call anytime n phones are answered n machines.Catering...wow..they out did them selfs...beautiful n eligant n on timeHighly recommended.Only thing they need to work on is when paying...to long of a waitOne other thing..they should give you the price of package all at once n not give you surprises that you still owe..Example: adverising charges n lowering of casket charges were never discussed n no idea we still had these charges..everything should be up front mot after the fact...Other than this excellent service
My moms make up was too dark considering my mom was a light complected person. I took a picture of her and I really did not feel they matched her make up. My package included catering the food was taken extremely late . My moms service ended at 12 pm the food was taken at 6 pm the people had already left my brother in law ended up buying food. The food that was taken so late was trashed.
Thank you very helpful...in our time of need
Velia was very nice and super helpful, unfortunately she does not work 24/7 and we had to work with others from the funeral home as well.We used their services for my Dads funeral. While he looked very nice, there were a few kinks with getting things done for the services.1st Issue: we were confirmed certain dates for the services, so we started letting family and friends know. Then we got a phone call saying we had to change service dates as there was an issue with the cemetary after the fact that everything was confirmed to us. We then had to rush everything as we had to move services to sooner dates as we had family already flyjng in and could not change their flights.2nd: we bought a canvas portrait from the funeral to be displayed during the services. As service dates were moved to sooner dates, when we took the portrait in that was going to be made into the canvas portrait they told us it was too late, even though they confirmed we would have everything after moving the dates. We were confused, they said in order for it to be in on time to be displayed at the services we had to of taken the photo by 12pm and we took it at 4pm that same day because no one told us they needed it by 12pm and therefore did not recieve the portrait until after the services3rd: could have happened to anyone, my dad was wearing the wrong shirt for the service, which was changed there. Not a huge deal but annoying4th: the deacon was more than 30 minutes late for the service and no one from the funeral home bothered to inform us or our guests of the issue5th: its been a little after 3 weeks and death certificates are still pending.6th: this lady that works there, unfortunately i didnt catch her name but was middle aged, dark hair, tall, wears glasses was not very sympathetic or showed that she cared, it was annoying in that I lost my dad and now had to deal with someone like her at the funeral home that was setting up his services.
Awful chapel facility and when it came time for the actual service, the funeral director was not present. The sound system was horrific; they could not play a simple video when it was given to them on both USB and DVD form. Do not have a funeral here.
Horrible and unorganized! Almost embarrassed that we spent so much for this crappy office!
I would like to thank Mrs. Alma Levender for her help arranging my fathers services. She treated our family with respect and compassion. In the arrangement appointment she gave us privacy and patience and was kind to us especially my mother. Thank you for helping us during this most difficult time. You are one of a kind.
