Some departments are better at customer service then others but on the whole, I have always had helpful customer service. Was in the flooring department last week and the lady who helped me was AWESOME. She helped me navigate the flooring installation issues and I had a phone call the next day to come measure the rooms for carpet.
On June 4th 2015 I spoke with Al in windows and doors two times about installing a security door. When I was ready to get the work done he (Al) quoted me a price of around $177.00 plus the door ($98.00) and that there would be a $50.00 fee that I needed to make to schedule the installers to come out and measure the door frame. I paid the fee and the installer came out and took all of 1-2 minutes to measure across the door frame and take a picture. Of course when Home Depot called after they received the measurements, the literally doubled. I let them know that I was quoted a different price and that I was not going to pay the price they were now asking; I told them that I wanted the measurements that I did pay for but, was told that they could not give me that information because it is Home Depots proprietary information. I was livid!!! when I asked to speak to a manager it took them almost 15 minutes before someone came on the phone. The manager I spoke, and after explaining this entire story again, refunded the $50.00 fee. I want to just let you know that if this ever happens to, make sure you asked these questions before you pay for anything, because otherwise you will not be happy with Home Depot.UNHAPPY potential customer!
I bought a refrigerator from them on Oct 10 and had to wait until Nov.5 to have it delivered. They missed the delivery date because the sales person entered my address wrong. When it finally did arrive the delivery person said that he couldnt hook up the icemaker because I had the wrong valve. Then, a couple of minutes later he informed me that the refrigerator that they brought was damaged and had to go back. I called them the next day and was informed that I would have to wait until Dec. 2 (at the earliest) for a replacement, so I cancelled the order. The following day I went to Lowes and purchased a larger, higher quality unit for less money and had it delivered and installed 3 days later. My experience with Home Depot was unpleasant and I will no longer do business with the.
Went to El Cajon store to look at Granite countertops, but no one was available to help us in the area. A snot nosed kid with a home depot badge on approached us and wanted to sell us cabinet refinishing and we told him we were just looking for granite countertops now. He tells us they do that as well, so we waste 20 minutes with this moron setting up an appointment, to find out later the company we had coming out to give us an estimate doesnt even do countertops only cabinet re-facing. Dont waste our time and we will go somewhere else to get our countertops done.
