Deeply disappointed! The sellers do not even deserve the 1 star. They deceived us by selling us a 6 candle Chateau Noble chandelier that was used and modified and never said a word about it. The previous owner or maybe the sales man himself, had clipped the side crystal holders and sold the chandelier to us with only the 7 bottom crystals (not 13 as the original was). Only when I purchased the same style chandelier with 10 candle holders for my living room, I noticed the difference. I checked online to see what a 6 candle Chateau noble chandelier looked like and it was indeed modified. The crystals at the bottom, were crystals that were supposed to be on the sides of the chandelier. Since they clipped the side crystal holders, they placed those crystals at the bottom of the chandelier. I contacted the seller in January with pictures of the chandelier from the day I purchased it. He pretended he did not to know about it and weeks later, agreed to replace it. Every time we wrote to him, he kept telling us the chandelier was being delayed from Texas because of the snow storm and then delayed from California because of the backlog in Us ports. Infinite lies and excuses every time we emailed him and he refused to even prove us with documentation that he had indeed ordered the replacement chandelier. Such an irresponsible and dishonest man! We have opened a dispute with the credit card company to solve this problem. Be aware of this seller!

We were interested in fans. Fans at most of the larger home improvement outlets are made of plastic and the quality is that for home builders mass production. But Designer Lighting and Fan has a variety of fans with different price points. We were pleased to find quality fans that were attractive with wood blades. Additionally because we were buying three substantial fans, they were willing to work with us on price. The staff was very informative and helpful too.

Placed an order on 4/4/21 for three vases. Two were delivered and the other one back ordered. It’s been four months and I can’t get a clear answer on a refund. Been given the run around and no refund to my account even though they said they would. Going to report to consumer affairs and seek legal aid. I want my money back for the item I did not receive.

If youre looking for lighting, and this store is near (or far) from where you live, you owe it to yourself to visit. What I liked most about both Helene and Jim is that they are consultative, not transactional. Are they the cheapest lighting and fan store on the figurative block, nope. But if youre looking for cheap, we all know the evil empire is the place to go. This is a local brick and mortar business with a large selection on premise, and access to a virtual unlimited selection online with their various suppliers. They are knowledgeable, insightful, curiously helpful, and warm. In my experience there are few businesses that will pass on an opportunity to sell you what youve asked for as opposed to providing guidance on latest trends, styles etc., making such a desired purchase unnecessary; yeah, they actually saved me money by advising that I stick with the fixture I had versus spending needlessly to replace it. If it gets busy you might have to wait a couple minutes, but their expertise, creativity and knowledge will warrant any wait time — besides you can browse while you wait! Go see them. I had a really great experience with Designer Light and Fan over this past Christmas holiday. I wanted to get my elderly mom a really special gift this year. I remembered a pair of old, rusted and cruddy brass touch on lamps (over 30 years old) weve had in our basement for several years. Mom loved them and used to often mention getting them repaired. I decided this was the time to do it, especially since shes 83 now and has arthritic hands that make it difficult to switch on a conventional lamp. A Google search led me to this shop which I had passed numerous times through the years. Helene and Jim could not have been nicer. I didnt know if the lamps even could be repaired, but both Helene and Jim made me feel confident my lamps were in good hands. This was a week or so before Christmas and I wanted to have them done in time for the holiday. Jim went above and beyond with those lamps which I found out were in worse shape than I thought, but not only did he do an excellent repair job, he finished the two well before Christmas. My gift got the desired reaction from my mom which meant a lot to me. I would highly recommend Designer Light and Fan!!!

Went to store to purchase 6 outdoor lights for my new home. Could only find the exterior color on the floor of the lights which I was interested in. I was directed to a catalogue to shop for my lights due to a lack of display models. Helene was confident in her design abilities and I fell for it. When SOME of the lights finally came in, (did not arrive as promised) they were so completely cheap looking! When I went to return them she had the nerve to charge me a restock fee of $60! This was after I spent over $4000. on a chandelier and over $300. on LIGHT BULBS, believe it or not! She also claims to be calling her boss for a better price when she is in fact the boss! Tried to support SMALL BUSINESS but found Capitol Lighting had better pricing, stock, floor models and most important friendly sales people! Do be fooled! Shame on you Helene. Hope that $60 was worth it!

I was delighted with my recent experience at this store! I have various family lamps and needed not just help with re-wiring the lamps safely up to Code, but also in selecting new lampshades. I expected sales-y push, but what I got was wonderful advice, explanations, and choices. The owner/manager Helene answered my many questions, provided advice, and candidly discussed price points and options to either save some money or to go more high-end.She spent time with me over both Saturday and Sunday morning, busy times at that store. I was pleased with my selections and loved the customer service! (I loved and needed all the advice and discussion, but if you don’t want that just let her know). This store was recommended to me by my electrician whom I have used for 25 years, good call.

I have passed this lamp store many times in my travels, however, I never had a need to stop in until I decided to have my antique lamp rewired. The moment I walked into the store I was greeted with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. The man who did my repair (I believe his name was mike) was very kind, friendly and honest. He also, priced my lamp very fairly. In fact, he only charged me for the labor, and not for parts. He even found me the screws to stabilize my lamp shade. What I especially liked about this store was they didnt try to sell you anything in addition to what you needed. My lamp works great and I couldnt be happier! I would highly recommend this store to anyone who wants an honest fair price on lamp repairs!

She showed me a Hinckley antique brass bathroom vanity light - a floor sample on sale - and it was just what I was looking for. She even gave me a nice little discount on the sale price!
