Nice big gym. First time here and i was impressed when I came in. That is, until I see 1 squat rack and 2 deadlift/squat platforms. Gym this size that just seems crazy to me. Needless to say dont come here to do legs unless you use machines

WARNING ⚠️ This place is a RIP OFF!!!! They charge hidden fees that adds up to a hefty gym cost and make it nearly impossible for you to cancel your membership, although they advertise otherwise.. Because they got word I was moving out of the state they hurriedly charged my card before the due date to squeeze everything they could out of me. I contacted customer service to get refunded only to find out its a call center in a third world country. Only strong thing about this gym is their unethical practice that prey on the vulnerability of their members!!! RUN

Stopped in today for a quick session on my way back from Pennsylvania. Good gym with nice equipment. If I lived in Jersey I would definitely make it my gym. Has something for everyone, and it’s located in the mall so you have good options for food and parking is easy.

I just joined this gym and it is very clean, spacious and offers lots of classes. One of the main reasons I joined was because of Hugo! He is so patient, knowledgeable, and thorough. He took his time and answered every question I had and helped me get acquainted and comfortable with the facility!

I met with Hugo earlier today about membership options. He was very friendly and informative. After giving me a tour of the facility and explaining all of the things Jersey Strong has to offer, he helped walk me through the process of signing into all of the apps. Very friendly and helpful!

Re-joined this gym yesterday, and spoke to Hugo. Not only did he wave the enrollment fee (?), he lowered the cost of my monthly membership a bit because my old membership was much cheaper (and gym costs have been going up by a lot!). He also helped me set up my Jersey Strong app. I really appreciate all of his help.

When I arrived I met Hugo. Great guy! Super professional, listened to my goals and showed me Jersey Strongs beautiful and superiorly clean gym. I’ve always been coming to this gym for the past 3 years and the staff has always been consistently nice and thorough with communication. The one who signed me up was the manager Hugo. Very nice manager and friendly towards everyone!

Have to say this is the best gym ever. The staff is so nice and treats you like a friend rather than a customer. The gym gets deep cleaned twice a day and is one of the cleanest gyms I’ve been too. The bathrooms and locker rooms are clean and neat as well. Going to Jersey Strong feels more like second home. I definitely plan on keeping my membership here for as long as I can. I took numerous of my friends here as a guest and they all ended up getting a membership because they loved it. I really recommend everyone to give this gym a try and I can guarantee you won’t be dissatisfied.

The moral of this review is that you need to ask to speak to Hugo when coming here because he is wonderful! Now let me tell you that people don’t actually remember what you say, people remember how you made them feel. And that’s exactly why I picked Jersey Strong. If I tell you to think of a sales person, what do you usually think of? That pushy car sales person who doesn’t really care what you say, they just want your money, right? Well Hugo was the complete opposite of that. He really took the time to understand why I came in and explain everything in full detail. To be honest with you, I actually went around to a couple gyms nearby so I can compare. (Spoiler alert, none of them compared to Jersey Strong.) But, I always like to sleep on my decisions (I am also a sales person and know any worth while decision will still be as great the next day). So I know if someone is urging me to make a decision on the spot, it’s probably not a great idea. And honestly that’s what stood apart when it came to Hugo and Jersey Strong. I never felt pressured to sign up and that’s why I came back. Quite frankly, their facility is fantastic.. lots of room, not over crowded even during peak times, clean (very important!!!!), lots of options and actually affordable. Anyway, if you’ve made it to the end of this review, it means you care enough to even go and check the place out (as you should)!!

Ive been a member here for several years. The facilities are top notch, but more than that, the feeling of community here is what keeps me coming back. Ive made many friends among both the members and the staff at this location over the years. In particular, Hugo and Carlos are always very friendly and professional. Always able to answer any questions and happy to help. The community is like a family to me, and the gym feels like home. Ive moved further away over the years, and tried other gyms, but always keep my membership here, and go to this particular location whenever I can.

Jersey Strong is not your typical corporation chain gym == although it is state-of=the-art facility, it almost has the feel of a neighborhood gym. The people who work there get to know you and treat you right. I started training again after recovery from major surgery. My personal trainer, Miguel is amazing. He is more than a trainer, he is a teacher and coach. He keeps me engaged and motivated. I really love this gym.

I would highly recommend this gym! Absolutely love my everyday workout. They have many more programs according to individual goals. I wasn’t consistent before this gym. Now i just love to go out there. Personal workout by trainers specially Shanin Gaur is awesome and personally checkin with me on my workout. Love it!

Great space, really close to home. The salesman can be a little aggressive. The feature to text a trainer doesnt seem as effective as I hoped it would be so I downgraded that feature.

Poor communication and Covid policy. My husbands billing resumed in August of 2020 despite request to cancel until he was able to get vaccinated. He found out today he was sent to collections and if he didn’t pay the specified amount it would be reported to the credit bureau. Our family gym is Lifetime and they’ve done an excellent job of communicating in advance and making fair decisions for their customers. Jersey Strong is located near my husbands business and was convenient for he and his colleagues to squeeze in workouts during the day. They will be finding a new gym. Customer service beats pricing and convenience.

I’ve been doing personal training with Miguel since the beginning of October.When I started I was sick with Lyme disease, depressed and unmotivated. I already see amazing results in my figure (see ya later back fat), my energy, and motivation. He pushes you without being mean and really teaches you how to work out with the proper form. He always greets me with happy vibes and I leave feeling accomplished. I highly highly recommend training with Miguel💪🏼😬

I have been working with Miguel Mallqui since October this year. I have tried different weight loss programs and training programs, none as effective as Coach Miguel! Since I started working out under his guidance my muscle mass went up 2 % and fat % went down 3 %. I have also enjoyed working out and slowly making it a habit instead of treating it like a chore. Miguel provides tips best suited to my temperament and pushes me to get out of my comfort zone and push myself. I really like how keeps me accountable while supporting me and not letting me beat myself up for the days where I don’t work at my best. Wholeheartedly recommend Miguel for personal training.

When I came into jersey strong I was surprise by how large and gym the clean is! The staff is very friendly and always does their best to accommodate every bodies needs. I spoke to Mike and he was very generous, we had a nice conversation about my goals and set me up with a training session to put me on the right track! I been here for 3 months and lost 15 pounds.

The experience started out great, but it doesnt last long. You are best to stay away, and take your business somewhere else. Poor customer service. This place really needs to turn something around if they want to keep people rather than lose them.

Masks are not enforced to be worn. Not even behind their own protein bar where food and drink is served. There is little concern for everyone’s well being during a pandemic.

I don’t think I ever felt more comfortable at a Gym!Carlos, the manager, never made me feel like a number. Over the year I’ve been going it’s an automatic pop into his office to say hello, and make sure we’re all doing well with what life has thrown at us. It’s a great feeling to have that sense of organic connection in an atmosphere that most people can feel intimidated in.I ended up signing up for personal training sessions and was able to work with Steve. It’s nice to have someone push you to your limit and then make you laugh after a great work out (especially when you’re complaining a bit). The truth is I canceled my membership after covid. But, Steve actually reached out to me personally and let me know the gym has taken serious precautions to make sure it’s safe for their members. They really have too! I go in the morning and they’re always cleaning, they have extra cleaning stations throughout the whole gym and everyone’s wearing masks!I decided to join again and this time take it serious. It’s been 2 solid months of going and I can really see results. I’m happy I have someone who works around my schedule and understands my goals.Steve makes me feel so comfortable, I highly recommend Steve as a personal trainer! Isn’t it time to start seeing the results you’ve been dreaming of!?

This gym is the best Ive ever seen. It is a very clean establishment as well. The bathrooms were very clean. The equipment was disinfected on the hour every hour by the very kind and amazing staff. Hugo is an amazing guy who recommended me to the gym as well.

I have been a member of Jersey Strong for over a year prior to COVID and over the last 6 months I have noticed that they do not enforce mask wearing. I typically workout Monday thru Wednesday or Tuesday thru Thursday and every single time I am here someone is either not wearing their mask the right way, not wearing one at all or its dangling from their face. There is no personnel walking the floors and enforcing COVID protocol. I will be cancelling my membership with them this week. I also have tried two-three of their classes and did not particularly care for them. This location is very convenient to my home which is a little over 3 miles down the road but the unsafe environment is forcing me to seek other avenues.3/30/2021 Update:After leaving this initial review I noticed a sign has been added to the front desk requiring mask wearing. These signs are up in various areas however they continue to not enforce them. As I went to work out downstairs I saw an individual walking to the stairs with no mask on and proceeded to put it on when he got to the front of the stairs. No personnel besides the individual behind the shakes stand and that person said nothing. I have since cancelled my membership effective 4/30. Another thing to note if you sign up for any training sessions ensure you cancel it when it is done. They will attempt to roll you into another cycle without confirming with you first (its $200 a month). My daughter has been speaking with support for the last two weeks to ask them to reverse payment that they say she owes and they continuously tell her she is late with her payment and will be subject to late fees. However she is no longer a member of the gym. This is COVID and yet they appear to be not helpful and attempting to collect payment for services that was not rendered.I will say that prior to these activities I had no problem with Jersey Strong. The personnel seems to be more interested in being on their cell phones than assisting anyone but the amount of equipment was always plentiful.

I joined the gym in September after gaining 10 lbs post-covid lockdown. Coach Miguel has been amazing about crafting a workout plan that caters to my fitness goals. Based on the fitness level and in-body scans, he modified my program to achieve and sustain consistent results. I have lost 6-8 lbs so far and built muscle - even during holiday season! Miguel is personable, motivational, and results-oriented. He values my time and is never late to the personal training sessions. I am feeling really good about myself and like what I see in the mirror. I started from being a couch-potato to hiking 10 miles without any issues. I am looking forward to what results I will achieve due to Miguels coaching in the upcoming year. Highly recommend him as a personal trainer at Jersey Strong Edison!Jersey Strong Edison has been very good with the Covid-19 guidelines with proper mask usage, social distancing, and availability of cleaning supplies. I am very happy with my experience and feel safe attending the gym.

I went to the Menlo Park gym where I have been a member for 6 years. I went there to get information about the reopening of the gym. I met with one of the managers-Hugo-he. He was extremely helpful. He took the time to answer all of my questions.

Great experience working out as a guest! Let me use a friends free pass and welcomed us into the gym, very helpful. Gym was plenty big and had loads of machines and free weights, perfect for anything you need. Only down side was no one put weights back so it was a bit of a scavenger hunt to find some stuff and there definitely didn’t seem to be any policing to enforce a policy if they had it. Overall good experience and would join if I wasn’t from out of town.

I felt that the Gym was nice and clean, and especially comfortable to be in. The worker employees are also nice and cool where it makes it easy to talk to them.

I have been going to Jersey Strong for about two years now and let me tell you, there is no other gym in the area that competes! From the variety of equipment, the size of the location, and all the classes they have to offer. The staff is super friendly and some of them make an effort to learn about your goals and accomodate your needs. Ever since covid started, they even taken extra saftey precautions to close the gym for an hour and deep clean the entire gym (its huge btw). If there was a ever a gym to try out, Jersey Strong is the one!

Wish I could give zero stars...Got home late from work and found a direct mail piece from Jersey Strong so I drove over to the Menlo Park location and said “hi I’m interested in joining. Can I take a quick look around?” The girl behind the counter told me no I wasn’t allowed to look around. I again said I was interested in joining and just wanted to see what equipment they had.I was again told no.I guess you guys don’t need any more members...

My trainer Miguel has helped me throughout the past year in achieving my fitness goals. Hes very entertaining to work with and fun to talk to but at the same time is not afraid to push me. Miguel focuses every week on technique which I appreciate a lot. My friends compliment my form and last weekend I even went on a 10 mile hike and my legs werent even sore the next day. Those are the kind of results that matter the most to me because I have a very active lifestyle that I need a good fitness level for in order to help prevent injuries and he gets it. Miguel you rock, keep doing your thing!

Employees are very helpful and very clean gym would recommend anyone to join! I would recommend to ask for Carlos to give you a tour. Carlos was very nice and always had a smile on his face. I love this gym its my second home!!!!

Very clean gym with plenty of room to workout. Machines vary and there’s something available for everyone. Training and sales staff are very experienced and helpful especially Hugo. Went in and filled out some paper work and was working out in minutes. Highly recommend!

Have been a member for 1-2 months, was originally hoping to be a long time member, but had an unexpected injury occur which I feel uncomfortable disclosing. I have already been to my primary care doctor and received a note that states I cannot do any physical activity, and am waiting on a specialist to further diagnose my condition. That being said, since I cannot go to workout and am having trouble with finances due to the issue, I reached out to Jersey Strong to cancel my membership and gave them the note. I went in person and talked to the people who had been so eager when it was time to sign me up for a membership a few months back, but now told me to email in my complaint. I emailed the note, to which Katie D. responds that it is only acceptable for a medical freeze for $4.99+ sales tax a month, for a period of 3 months and would need the note to say permanent disability to completely cancel, which would also have a 10% fee. Not only does one have to pay to not use gym, but to require the note say that seems very ominous, as if one needs to be hurt to a certain extent just to cancel a simple gym membership. I tried to inquire about a one time cancellation fee, which I never was given a response. As for the medical freeze, even after having the discussion, I was charged the full months price for the next month and told I needed to opt-in to that and there would be an unfreeze fee as well! Very tedious emailing back and forth (15 emails), with delayed responses, and not even a call, only emails. There was so much human interaction when they wanted me to sign up, but are doing nothing to accommodate my injury. Ridiculous!

I’ve been a member of this Gym for several years. I joined primarily for the variety of Group classes offered. Instructors are motivating, and knowledgeable about fitness. They provide instruction and tips for all fitness levels in their classes. All members can accomplish personal goals in a safe and non threatening environment. I recently tried a few new classes and I am pleased with my progress(Thank you Adrienne, Jen & Tara!!!)This is the right Gym for me.

I am a member of Jersey Strong for six years to date and I have yet to meet a better trainer than Miguel Mallqui; he is committed to providing knowledge and proper exercises to get the results I want and people often notice. He will push you to your limit and exceed your own expectations. If I had my own gym I would want all of my trainers to have as much as passion and dedication as Miguel. He sets the bar high and it only gets higher every day. Thank you for all that you do!

Highly concerning security risk. I went here for my free trial and sat down with one of their staff to go over what the gym has to offer. For the free trial, they required I leave them my drivers license and I could pick it back up at the front desk on my way out. Thats fine. After my workout, I went to the front desk to get my license back. The front desk didnt have my license, and the staff member who took it from me was no where to be found. This was bit concerning. I work in cyber security. Have you any idea what can be done to you with just a copy of your drivers license? After 5 minutes of the staff member not showing up, I walked over to their desk and found that my license was out in full view right on their desk! So either 1) this locations staff needs some SERIOUS training on information security, or 2) they were planning to hold my license hostage as leverage for whatever sales pitch they were going to give me. In either case, this leaves me severely concerned about this gyms operations.Edit: Wow, a cookie cutter copy-pasted response from their customer service, asking us to do even more work to get a real person’s response from them. Notice it’s the same copy-pasted response for every complaint here, but an actual personal response for any praise. Sounds like you need some help in your customer service department too!
