This particular strain of malware, using phishing techniques, is spreading rapidly across the globe. Please be alert and vigilant both at work and on home computers. The malware’s primary function is to encrypt the hard drive and then ransom the key to unencrypt, hence the name. This follows last week’s May 5th alert from this office. Please review the information from last week’s message below and continue to apply these steps for any suspicious emails.These “phishing” emails appear to come from reputable companies, but they do not. They seek your personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers, and can contain malicious software. Clicking the wrong email can damage every aspect of your life. As you can see, the time is now for a product like this to be part of everyones internet protection.
