Fantastic food, ambiance, and service. My daughter formerly worked at McCormicks and wanted to have us go for our anniversary dinner. She set up a reservation and I was greeted with Happy Anniversary, by the way hostess, Carly. Marissa, our server, was friendly and bubbly. We saw the Manager Aaron, and another server, Lois, from our previous visit with our daughter, which was the first time we visited. It was busy and hectic, but so nice to have a few words with Aaron, Lois, and Carly. I definitely recommend! The food weve had from the 2 visits has been phenomenal!!!!
My friend and I stopped by for happy hour on a Thursday evening, which goes until 6:30pm. Service was fine, self-seating at the bar but it was a little crowded. Ordered off happy hour menu and it was pretty good. Mussels- 10/10 (the white wine sauce was awesome). Fried calamari- 9/10, the bottom pieces were a little soggy. Blue cobia tacos- 6/10 they werent bad, but the fish shouldve been the star of the dish and it was a little underwhelming. Overloaded with a lot of other ingredients that, in my opinion, didnt add to it. Cocktail shrimps- 9/10, large meaty shrimp, only ask, is a little more of the horseradish cocktail sauce. Overall good experience, happy hour menu is worth going back for. Only real knock on the place, is that I only noticed two individual bathrooms, for a place that big, could be problematic. 😕
The more I think back to this meal a couple days ago, the more disappointed and angry I get at the wasted money. We were hoping for Cov but didnt want to wait so we decided to try McCormick. Let me start by saying any restaurant attached to a hotel is already a red flag, but knowing it was a chain and seeing how it was packed we thought hey this could be okay. Boy were we wrong. I will say the staff was amazing! But the best staff in the world cant make the food their serving taste better. The fish was clearly not fresh, the mashed potatoes were rock solid, the oysters were sub par and I dont think Ive ever tasted walleye like that before. What was listed on the menu is not what came on our plate. After spending close to $250 for two people, youd think we would have had something decent. Beyond disappointed and wont make the mistake of giving it a shot again.
Taste, cost and quality but not in that order is what I look for in a restaurant. Here is why it was just okay. First off service, that can really make your dining experience which tonight it lacked,a lot. Whether it be the water being refilled, simple requests taking a lot longer than it should or overall hospitality. I would understand if it was busy but it was a Tuesday and it wasnt busy at all... The lobster bisque was really salty and no chunks of lobster. The pistachio crusted Chilean sea bass was really good but the risotto it came with was subpar. Nothing stood out, plate presence was okay, and when you factor it all in you wonder why youre eating there... For having two entrees an app and hot tea the hundred plus dollar meal wasnt worth it. Put your money to another place thats really trying.
Excellent service. Food outstanding with a very nice wine selection. We Had the Sea bass, and Australian lobster tail. Creme brulee. All very goodRecommend. Be prepared to spend!
Great service. Excellent Happy Hour prices. Love the cherry mule, its so good
11.13.20 visiting from Florida and wanted to go somewhere nice and I must say, I was not disappointed! Started out with calamari (bland - needed salt), an iceberg wedge salad (deeeeelicious), and the sirloin steak with lobster tail (so yummy but the steak was a bit salty.... I guess it made up for the lack of salt on the calamari 😂🤣).
We went for Happy Hour. Our food was very tasty. Cocktails excellent. We sat at the bar and Jeff our bartender great. We will go again.
Myself & my husband just like to stop by @ any Restaurant for a quick Dinner on that evening. I like to shared our experiment & we ‘re not a local resident. We ordered an Seared Sea Scallops & that was for our main dish; it’s quite pricey; cause this looked more to us like an appetizer instead & I did mentioned with our waiter; & plus it didn’t needed almost 25mn. to prepare neither cooked Scallops. And I didn’t like my drink either. We like our service; he was friendly.
Great Happy Hour seafood choices on the menu and at a very reasonable price! Really enjoyed it and have been back twice since!
I go to McCormick and Scmick’s for special occasions and they never disappoint. The excellent service, scrumptious apps and entrees and excellent cocktails in combination with a private dining for two experience makes this a winner every time!
Was there on several occasions.. Mothers Day.. a nice lunch with my little sister and a family dinner.. every time was perfect the special drinks were great overall experience was lovely!..
The seafood was amazingly fresh! The lake trout is to die for! Keith made my evening very enjoyable. He was there to answer my questions and checked on me very frequently. I really do appreciate Keith and the pride he takes in his job!
We had a nice time here for our anniversary. Good seafood! Nice wine list options also. I had scallops & my husband had the Ahi Tuna. (Flown in from Hawaii every 48 hrs we were told several times). Sat at a quiet table on the side. Dining room was big, nice with high ceilings. I forgot to take a pic but I did take food pics. They looked better in person!
Went there for special occasion to have appetizers on the patio. Was told no. Bees and wasps. Went elsewhere. A nice day, too.
*Update April 2018*I decided to return with my wife for an anniversary dinner. The experience was similar to my first in a few ways. Once again the ambience was excellent - very upscale feel. The service, while friendly, was a little on the slow side, but not exactly a problem. The food was mixed. The burger was outstanding. (**Read this again** If you want a great burger and don’t mind spending $18, GO HERE*.) The trout was pretty good, but not exceptional. Value for the cost (understanding it’s an upscale establishment)? Acceptable. We will likely be back, but might consider returning for happy hour prices on those great burgers.Original 2017 Review:Good food, nice ambience, attentive service. Not mind-blowing, but certainly at or above par for lunch.
Apps and dessert were great. The main was a bit underwhelming. I’d come back for the HH.
Very nice place. Good food and very good service.
I’ve been to other McCormicks around the US and this one wasn’t the best. It wasn’t the worst either though. We had to send a steak back because it was so burnt. There is a different between Well Done and black licorice burnt. The salmon tasted quite old, crab cake was delicious, asparagus was flimsy and really wet, and the waiter just seemed like he didn’t really care too much about serving as a profession but rather “just another job”.
I have been honestly super excited to try this place. Now that I have It is sad to say that the excitement went down the drain when I received my salmon, steamed white rice and green beans. The salmon I have to admit was really good however my rice was crunchy, my green beans were not cooked. They attempted to redo rice and green beans and rice still came out crunchy. When I think of steamed rice it should be soft. Green beans were a tad bit better after the redo. Thank goodness I had a gift card otherwise I would have cried having to pay full price for that meal. 3 stars only because of the salmon and the king crab 🦀 that I had on the side.
A great place to go for a memorable evening. Ambience was great. Food was good but menu not extensive.
Service was excellent. Food was DISAPPOINTING!Ordered the lobster bites as a starter; very good. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were both also very good. The chowder is on point with the chowder house in Portland. As for entrees, what the hell happened? The stuffed shrimp entree was bland. The shrimp and stuffing had very little depth of flavor of any kind. The potatoes that came with the shrimp were decent. Aside from lacking flavor, the shrimp were ridiculously small. Im not saying Red Lobster small, but still embarrassing that an upscale seafood restaurant would call their stuffed shrimp effort good and ready for patrons. The lobster tails were cooked well. The mashed potatoes that accompanied the tails were nursing home blah. So bland as in whats the point of eating them.Again our server Lois was wonderful. As for the food; FAIL.
The medium rare steak was a bit rarer but I loved it, the chocolate cake is fire, but the clam chowder had a musty flavor to it and the clam pieces were chewy and rubbery, red lobster has better clam chowder how unfortunate!
Love the food. Our waitress was outstanding.Especially loved the shrimp kisses.
The service was good but, sadly, the food was just meh.
We ordered take out and I was pretty shocked when I opened the bags. Chicken tenders with fries was a joke. About 10-15 fries came with the order. Our cup of clam chowder filled an 1/8 of the bowl. The Caesar salad was mediocre at best, again with a minimal portion size. My burger taste good, but came with few fries and cost 20+ dollars. Last time I order from here or give any recommendation to others. I hope the dining in service is a different experience.
I had the andouille sausage hash with a poached egg on top. Terrific breakfast feast that stuck with me ALL day.
Great Happy Hour drinks and food. Friendly staff and good service.
Pricey, but worth it for the food and service.
Staff was amazing and so was the food! I had the stuffed salmon #amazing!!!!
First time to visit, super clean, great service and the seafood was extraordinary. I joined the Landrys Club and plan to frequent other locations. We were celebrating my son accepting his registered nursing position at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. Really proud of him.
The Waitress was great. The Shrimp Scampi with Noodles was tasteless, no salt and the noodles were straight out of the water. The Shrimp was cooked well but dry due to no sauce. The Crabcake was over priced, I was served 1 and it was not memorable. There is a short of sauces for the seafood all around.
The service and food were delish! The price point is a bit high fir what you get, but it is good food and service with a nice atmosphere.
Great food, great service. Relaxing dinner experience.
Our wait person was absolutely fabulous! He was so helpful with suggestions. Our food was just what he said! Yummy! Thank you so much!
Happy Hour nails it Everytime! Especially favorite fish tacos and tasty cocktails. My favorite is the Ruby Thyme
Happy hour and fish tacosYum! Thank you sweetie 💓
Lovely atmosphere, terrific service. Food was lacking just a lil bit. We got a bad oyster, which the waiter removed from the bill; also my walleye was dry. Other than that it was excellent!
Service was outstanding. Not sure if its covid related, but with the exception of desert, the meal was very, very disappointing. We wont be back.
Good food. Service was a bit slow, but friendly.
$130.05 for a 6 oz steak, 6 oz salmon with veggies a 4 oz size of crab and some vegetables and rice. Rice was crunchy both times they tried, green beans were undercooked the first time, second time was good. Everything else was good. Meal was barely worth $30.00 so thank God we had a $100.00 gift card.
Food was just ok. Came out warm barely hot my butter wasnt even melting on my steak. The filet mignon was far from tender and more medium then medium well like I asked. The food was flavorless and had no type of taste or seasoning whatsoever. Overall it was very mediocre to me. This was my first time to the Edina location and I wouldnt come back. Service was a bit slow and definitely not great. Also would have been nice to know they had such a limited menu for Fathers Day. We were not told that when booking so it was very unexpected and left us trying to pick something we really didnt want. One of the guests in our party is allergic to seafood and his only option was steak which was not what he wanted. I will stick to the downtown location if I ever do go back.
The lobster bisque was really tasty, our server was friendly, and the food came out quick. The salmon and shrimp were okay, but for the price tag, I expect much better. The reason for the 2 stars is that we were never informed of the 75 minute table time and were asked to vacate our table suddenly. This really would not have been a problem had we been told either in the reservation confirmation or by the wait staff. What really gets me, and this is the reason Im writing this at all, is that the table sat just before us was still seated as we took our drinks to the bar. My wife and I were the youngest couple (by far) in our cluster of tables, and I cant help but to think that this is the reason why we were asked to leave.
First time at this restaurant. Food was ok. Service sucked and was super slow. First we got the wrong drink and was still charged for it. My boyfriend wanted another beer by the time the server came back we were almost done eating. We came for a birthday and felt like the server did not want to serve us. Service should have been better with a $350 bill. We expected better. Wont be returning
It is second time I visit McCormick in Edina and it is still no good. Service is good. Servers are friendly. Cocktails were awesome but the FOOD. I think they should change the main chef. I ordered four order(Seabass, Halibut, Walleye and shrimp) they were all dry. Shrimp we ordered as appetizer was ok but dont try their seafood. Last time i went to this place steak was much better.
You can tell the servers hate the management and vice versa. Ive worked in this industry for 8 years and would never treat guests like we were treated. This place is what some random rich suburban dude would think of as fine dining; its a joke.
FANTASTIC FOOD, great atmosphere. Come here for the best steak. Save a trip to the City
Two-martini lunch with the wife for our 50th anniversary and today is my 74th birthday the day almost went just right I still had a good time our lunches and drinks were perfect service was perfect
My steak was very good but my husbands fish was a bit dry. I like the atmosphere and our service was nice but my biggest complaint would be the woman sitting across from us watching TV on her cell phone loud enough I could hear the whole 2 episodes of whatever she was watching. I can deal with a unruly child at a table because parents cant always find a sitter to enjoy a night out and we cant always control when our children need a nap but this is a grown woman that doesnt even understand respect. That is all
Absolutely fabulous. Our waitress... Needed more attentiveness. I asked for no ice in my water, extra tarter and she gave hubby and I eachothers cocktails. We still tipped at 22% because the manager stopped by to ask how we were. Supurb! You get 5 stars because Food was outstanding. We can handle iffy service when management and chefs are working hard. Well definitely be back.
Had the walnut and greens salad with grilled shrimp. Unremarkable with bland blue cheese, too-sweet dressing, and the grilled shrimp had too much bitter tasting char.
Absolutely amazing! Food was great and Derek was a great server. Made the experience even better.
We ordered the Family Pack tonight. It was amazing. Stopped in to order and the gentleman that took the order said it would be ready in 12 min! Everyone had filets that were done perfectly. We had so much great food! Warm bread, salads, cheesecake and chocolate cake! Will definitely order again!
Usually a good place for fish. Atlantic Salmon was a little too cooked (beyond medium), but some salt and lemon dressing was good. Encstuted Big Hawaiian Ahi Tuna was over-done and lacked taste. But the kids salmon was a great portion with perfectly cooked green beans and mashed potatoes. Salmon overcooked, but okay for an 18-month who doesnt know the difference. The Caesar salad and walnut salad were good portions and not overdressed. Always love the hot, sourdough bread with whipped butter. M&S Iced Tea was tasty and not bozzy. Wine selections are plentiful and pared well with meals. Was a birthday dinner, which we noted, but nothing noted or special done for birthday guest. Maybe COVID-19 means just getting buy for dinner. Disappointing, so will likely not be back for a while
Prices were too high for the quality of food. Very disappointed..
Don’t go. We stayed at the adjacent Hotel Westin. Thought this would be convenient. Did not get waited on for the longest time, until one lady server got us water and bread. Eventually “our” sever came to the table it’s appetizer we ordered from the lady server. He never introduced himself. It was a really weird experience. 2 orders of fish and chips, asparagus, shrimp cocktail, and no desert or drinks, $77. Fish and chips ok, but not amazing. Just a very lackluster attitude by servers. Don’t go. I ignored the bad reviews. Don’t do the same.
Food was great, lots of wine choices, but a pretty limited menu. Had the Calamari for an appetizer and that was good too. Restaurant was upscale and clean.
Expensive but good. We had merlot, Kobe burger, chefs stuffed salmon special and chefs trout special (w bones). All very good!
Celebrated my granddaughters birthday. Most of the food was fabulous - salmon, filet mignon, fish and chips. I ordered the Chesapeake Shrimp with Chesapeake fries - I love shrimp so I figured I would not be disappointed. Yeah, not a big fan - just did not enjoy the flavor. The cheesecake drizzled with chocolate and heath bar was the bomb!!
Want to thank the manager as his service was great. They are known for their famous Reuben sandwich and was surprised that they have it on special for this month with fries & soup
Worst place ever I’ve been living here so long and wanna to try this place out and it was always my check list- nice food well I guess I was wrong not a good service and super expensive and not a good waitress. If you wanna to wait for an hour to be seated then be my guest.... first and last time to be here.
Superb food. Highly recommended the Parmigian parsley oysters! And the wait staff was awesome.
Only problem i had was the steak was too well done
Happened to Stop by today to have dinner and drinks and it Was amazing ! Our Server was Great BTW. Thank you ! We will come back.
Disappointed in the size of the portions and the lack of service. Our table of 2 was at your restaurant at 4:15 pm. The dining room had people at 2 other tables. Our waiter did not ask if we wanted a cocktail or salad.
Good food, Nice King 🦀
Not worth it AT ALL. Unfortunately since they opened years ago, they have definitely lost their touch. No flavor, no service, uninviting environment.
No one’s at the front desk to greet customers
AMAZING! Went for Valentine’s Day, even when the place is packed (within reason, they definitely follow covid guidelines) they offered amazing service and even better food!
I ordered a to go order here at lunch today. When I called the restaurant to tell them I was standing at the front door and asked them to open the door and hand me my order, they said that was not possible and that I would need to come into the restaurant. It was raining and I had my mask on, I was concerned about my mask not being effective after getting wet. I work in Healthcare and have been limiting my exposure, I could not believe that with two staff just standing at the front desk, neither would hand me my order! This restaurant clearly does not care about their patrons safety. Would not recommend.
Food and service was great. Sat on bar patio.
Most of the food was great however, the lobster bisque was super salty, the ceaser salad is the same as a side salad which is very small and expensive! We stayed at the hotel attached and they use McCormicks as their in room dining. They charge more for the same food as in the restaurant AND they add on a room service fee. The breakfast sandwich that I went down to the restaurant to get was literally thrown in a in a paper bag! I paid over $10 for, a greasy sandwich thrown in a bag? I wasnt even able to eat it since it all fell apart and was super greasy. We wont be back, there are so many other restaurants dying to have business during covid I am happy to patron others!
Sooo good. Everything was perfect. Even the staff
Enjoyed some great oysters before carving into a delicious dry seasoned ribeye. Good wine selection and fantastic, knowledgeable service.
It was very good. The calamari could have come to us a little hotter.Service was great.
Asked for medium for my steak and it was burnt not seasoned and somehow pink in the middle so they rushed to cook my steak paid extra for mashed potatoes and they were terrible not a good place to go I do not recommend.
The food was delicious & service superb! Ryan took good care of us as the last customer of the night. My husband HAD to have some truffle butter and it was scrumptious! We will definitely be back again!
Best food youll ever eat. Be ready to drop 2 bills on you and your.
Delicious food, friendly staff and our waiter wore a mask and gloves. We appreciate the caution they used . Order the chocolate silk pie. With raspberries. Youll be so glad you did! Outdoor Patio seating also available
Service was excellent. Food was outstanding.
