Excellent!!! Every time. The food, drinks, service, atmosphere, everything.Saturday prime rib is second to none.Fish fry is great as well.Why stop there? Might as well go for some cheesecake and an after dinner drink.Even with the challenges of 2020 they have excelled with take out. 25 minute drive home and my fish was crispy and cheese curds were delicious.

Aways great food, great service and a great atmosphere! Steaks are always done to the correct temperature and everything is fresh! You can tell the cooks and all the staff really care about your experience there.

Landed in town and found Houligans by chance. The menu on the website helped us decide to stop in. We didnt have a reservation, but they found us a table. Our server was very polite and attentive...at first. He brought our drinks, salads, water and bread. Our meals came out a few minutes after we were surrounded by 14 people on 4 tables. This is where the service to our table of two ended. We didnt see him but one more time as he quickly asked how the meals were. I didnt even taste it yet! But he was very busy with his 14 people, not us. I teetered my wine and water glass on the edge of the table thinking he would refill something, however he did not. He tended to them and ignored us. He walked by SEVERAL times refilling their waters etc. Since I didnt have any thing to drink with my meal, I couldnt finish it. My husband didnt even have the luxury of a knife to cut his chicken. After my meal was pushed away, he came back several minutes later and asked if I wanted a box. I said, no, but I would have liked a glass of water? I told him you never came back due to all of this, gesturing to the large, insanely loud group, and he said you are right, I apologize. He said I did come back and asked you how your meals were to which I replied, I hadnt even had a bite! I was extremely frustrated and would never recommend this place. The Seafood bake was decent, but the vegetables and potatoes were cold. I honestly have never had such poor service. Especially from a restaurant with prices like Houligans. Extremely loud place. It came down to a tip from 2 people...his loss, we are usually very good tippers, and the tip from 14 people. I would not recommend.

It was amazing. The food was cooked to perfection and we didnt mind paying the price for such great food. The server was attentive, spoke clearly and was helpful. We will be coming back again.

Hooligans was recommended to us. Had dinner with a coworker to celebrate his birthday. We had prime rib...its was delish. Betty took fabulous care of us!

Went there for the Friday night fish fry. It was delicious. Nice place to go for a date night. Just make sure you make a reservation first. Cant wait to try the rest of the food on the menu.

Best steakhouse in Chippewa Valley easily, been there several times and I am more impressed each and every time. Steaks are high quality and every side is cooked perfectly and tastes amazing. Only steakhouse I’ll be going to!

The Filet Minon steak was good, my Prime Rib was very tender and made to my liking. The Grasshopper drink 🍸 was fantastic and made with the vanilla ice cream 🍦. The beer and wine 🍷 selection was excellent. The Vegetables were fresh and crisp. Nice atmosphere.

Food was hit or miss, but the portions were incredibly small for the price. Although they were not overly busy the service was slow, but our server was very sweet so it gets an extra star from me.

Great service. Very welcoming. The food was ok. My friends smoked prime rib was mediocre my steak was nicely cooked but could have used more seasoning. We both enjoyed the house salad - very fresh with olives, artichoke made for a tasty salad. Prices seemed a little high. Have had higher quality steak for the same price. Broccoli that accompanied the food was perfectly cooked. Server was very, very good. She checked on us frequently and took good care of us.

Recently my brother and I celebrated his birthday at Houligans Steak & Seafood Pub in downtown Eau Claire.We started with the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer and for the main course had a surf and turf combo of the Chipoltle Medallions and the catch of the day, sword fish.The sword fish was incredible, by far the best I ever had and medallions were are perfect compliment.The service was outstanding and pricing was more than reasonable considering the top notch quality of the meal and service.

The food here is EXCELLENT and the service has always been great.

Nothing but great things to say about Houligans. The food, the service, the location, and the atmosphere are all fantastic. It’s easily an all-time favorite restaurant of my wife and I. We would both highly recommend it to anyone living in or visiting the Eau Claire area. If I could give more than 5-stars, I would. An example: I made reservations for my wife’s birthday for six of us. Her birthday falls close to New Year’s which is naturally busy. They were running a bit behind (20min) on the reservation times which wasn’t an issue as we had a few drinks at the bar while we waited. Because we got seated late, I received a free drink and they offered us two complimentary appetizers. Well above and beyond what was expected and very much appreciated.

Fantastic Prime Rib. Fresh green beans. Delicious Brandy Old Fashioned!! Worth every penny! Far better than any chain restaurant.

Our meal experience was awesome for St. Pats. Becky did an amazing job and brightened everything up. The only rhing that fell short was the prime rib. It was alright but not for $27. I would like to try out the rest of the menu and will be back if Becky is working!

The food was not great. Friday fish special appeared to be some kind of processed fish. One step above fishsticks.I had the steak and shrimp special. The steak was one inch cubed...for resl. Three stuffed shrimp. I couldnt believe that was the mereal.Itll be a long time before I step foot in Houligans again.

I absolutely love coming here to get the candied garlic new york strip. At first I was a little skeptical about sweetness with my steak but this has me addicted! This is my go to meal every visit which has me kind of sad because I bet their other dishes are great too! This is a steak night dish everyone should have at least once.

Houligans has the best food in the Chippewa Valley. We love to come here and just wish we had bigger stomachs. We take home leftovers.Vegetables are always fresh, wonderfully seasoned, and the right amount of crispy; mashed potatoes melt in your mouth, and the meat or fish is of the best quality. Weve been coming here for nearly 20 years and never had a disappointing meal here.

Food and drinks were delicious - seems like the menu is much more limited than usual, but still amazing and worth the money.

I am not from the area staying just for a couple days asked a friendly gentleman where I can get a good meal and he directed me to Hooligans very glad I went there awesome service from a girl named Maddie not to mention the food was absolutely delicious

One of the best steak places in the area. The service is great. The interior is a bit dated, but welcoming. Cannot recommend this place enough.

We rented the back room for my mothers 90th birthday celebration, there were about 30 of us. The staff went out of their way to make this day memorable. The service was incredible and fast and our food was exceptional. Everyone had a perfect meal, not one complaint! Would highly recommend going to eat here.

We have been coming here regularly for at least 10-12 years. Have occasionally tried new dinner places opening up, but always come back to here. Great food and wait staff, very comfortable atmosphere. We have been there in shorts and jeans or dressed up and felt right at home. Food is the best-one of our favorites is the walleye. Steak bites for appetizers is also recommended.

Came here for NYE. Reservations were set well in advance. Our party of 6 arrived early thinking they would be pretty busy. We were told to sit at a table by the hostess. 2 minutes later a gentleman told us that table was reserved for another party. We were allowed to sit there and have drinks till our table was ready. (About 10 minute wait)Got to our table that was two small tables that were separated by about 3 feet. We ended up pulling the tables together so our party felt “together”Food was sub par. I had the walleye which in my opinion was less than desirable. My wife had the salmon which she loved!!! I was VERY disappointed to find out they no longer serve the giant cheese curds. Now they are your average bar curds for $9.99. I get you need to make a profit, but that’s a bit expensive.The other four people in our party were VERY dissatisfied with the food.... All together we spent close to $400 for drinks and food. It will be long time before we return. I do recommend dinning here for the atmosphere. Normally the food is good. Might have been an off night because of the holiday.......

The service was great. The atmosphere is that of a classic restaurant that has not ever needed to change because it was perfect from the start. I enjoyed my ribeye steak very much as it was cooked to my preference perfectly. Overall an excellent upscale establishment with the food to accompany it.

My husband and I visited Houligans tonight for a late dinner. We didnt arrive until after 8 (they close at 9 tonight). We were cheerily welcomed by the staff and we never felt rushed. Ashley was our server and she was very pleasant and friendly. If I were you I would ask for her section, she was amazing! I ordered the steak medallions with the honey garlic sauce. The medallions were cooked perfectly and were tender and juicy with just enough sauce to compliment them but not over power them. My husband ordered the horseradish crusted salmon, it was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious! We would highly recommend this small locally owned business for a quiet date night out or an evening enjoyed with friends.

The food and service was fantastic. My wife had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. Salad was fresh and the crab cake appetizers were delicious. We were there at 6:30 on a Friday night, which is usually the worse time for dinner in restaurant. Our dinner experience was 6 STARS.

Great food and atmosphere

A year later and my wife and I still get compliments about the food at our wedding. We had one of the most fun weddings Ive been to and people talk about the food! The CUSTOMER SERVICE was unbelievably impressive. The hoops that they were willing to jump through for us was something that can no longer be found in any business today. THANK YOU again for accommodating us and making our wedding awesome and as stress-free as possible!

Candy garlic sauce is my new favorite condiment. The drinks here are amazing as well. Very fun and cozy place.

At first I was doubtful (not many places can do a steak right) but when it was delivered my tenderloin was perfect. Great plating, and portions were spot on. I would recommend trying it at least once if you are visiting town, multiple times a month if you happen to live here.

The steaks here are absolutely fantastic, you wont be disappointed. The staff were very friendly and the food came quickly, but not too quickly, plenty of time for each course. A great menu with traditional steakhouse favorites and also some fanicer creations.I heartily recommend dining here!

It had been quite some time since we had been to Houligans so we thought we should make another overdue visit. We were seated quickly even though it looked like they were plenty busy. After looking over the menu, we asked our server about the fish dinner. Since it is not printed in the menu, one of the questions was, how much? Our servers answer... Im not sure, but you get 3-4 pieces of fish. I think around 20 bucks. Well, OK then. With that, we decided to just get a quick burger and be on our way. Overall, the service was pretty good, except not knowing a price and bothering to even find out, the burgers were tasty but overcooked and overpriced. Hopefully, next time the experience will be better.

Amazing steak and service.

While I love the vibe of this place, I find it a touch overpriced for the quality and preparation of the food. Some of its great and others not so much (loved the steak, salad was super soggy). Its great if you want a bit of a more upscale steakhouse, but be aware the place smells strong of uncooked fish and seafood which can be offputting to some people.

Finally went to Houligans. My bf always talks good things about this restaurant and he was absolutely RIGHT. I was in the town on my birthday week so went here for a bday dinner and I am glad I did. I am not sure how busy this place gets during the day but on weekends and evening this place is very crowded. I would suggest to make a prior reservation so that you are all set and cut the wait. I know this place is famous for steaks but I ordered a chicken breast covered with a crispy potato and my bf ordered a NY Steak and it was GREAT. I would definitely go back . Maybe in few weeks as I am flying back their soon!

Great place to go for a special night on the town or when you have friends visiting. Its a local treat. Old fashions are amazing. Prices are a bit high but I guess thats what I expect when I go to a superclub. Plus you get amazing food. Service is okay. Ive been there multiple times and have never been amazed by my server, but the foods good so I keep going back.

Went here for a Holiday party for my wifes work and had a good time, the food that was catered by then was very tasty and it was a nice atmosphere.
