Billy Eyres III is amazing. He made the process so easy and I also had a meltdown because I lost my phone and he was so helpful in helping me stay calm and helping me look for it. It’s refreshing to get such great service during Covid where most people don’t know what they’re doing and are very lax. Billy gets a 10 out of 10. You’re lucky if he handles your rental.
They only received one star because I had to at least put one. I rented a vehicle, that was not the one I reserved for a week for $508. I extended the rental for another week and then dropped it off. When they charged me it was $1467. i called customer service and they asked me everything except my blood type to find the rental, after waiting on hold for an hour. They told me that the second week was $900 and something. I was not informed of this when I extended it. I will never rent from them ever again. Also the local branch in Eatontown hung up on my after they realized they did not know what they were doing. I knew I should have went to Enterprise!!!!
They didnt have the 16 foot truck when I went to pick it up, and the alternative option they gave me was a van.When I called to try and get the truck I needed from a different location, they said that it could take up to 2 hours to get back to me.After waiting the two hours, I called back to cancel the truck (since I never got one) and was very kindly told that they could cancel it and I wouldnt be charged for it. Well no (cuss here), Im not going to get charged for cancelling a truck that you couldnt provide me, and the alternative that you gave me was a van.
The people in the office made it so easy an comfortable to rent from budget. I will definitely rent from that location again Sheraton in eatontown
I gave a 7 for this review because there are a number of reasons why I feel I really cannot go higher. I decided to book with budget for our family road trip because they were the most cost effective and had better availability for a larger SUV like a Nissan pathfinder. Upon completing my online booking, I decided to call with a few questions about the rental process since it was my 1st time using your company. I spoke with a gentleman on the phone who came on nicely but, very abrupt with our conversation. However, after I explained to him what I intended to do with the rental he expressed to me that it would be okay to have my deposit on my credit card and the remaining balance on a debit card. To which he explained that it would fine and that I would be subject to a credit check which I responded that I was okay with. I had additional questions that he addressed followed by him apologizing & saying he was working by himself that day. Being that I booked for a large SUV about 3 months prior to our trip, I felt confident at that point that the vehicle requested would be available upon pick up. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Albeit nice, I found this vehicle was unsafe & switched it out when we got to Virginia at the Reagan National Airport location. The Ford Explorer we initially got was okay for the ride home but, once we hit the highway it began pulling to the right. Then eventually it began to over correct me to the point that I would almost be riding the shoulder of the highway, which made us all feel completely unsafe.Upon checking out my vehicle, the young lady that assisted me must have been unaware of what the gentleman & I agreed upon because when she requested the deposit & handed her my credit card she proceed to swipe it for the full amount of the rental deposit included which resulted in it being declined because of the amount. I then explained to her what was discussed over the phone and she was hesitant but, agreed to complete the transaction for me. So, she handed me my credit card back and I handed her my debit which she then proceeds to swipe so many times that a fraud alert came up. I then called my bank to confirm my identity and all the charges. She then made changes to my rental that I did not agree with, removing the wifi saying the car we were getting didnt have it. Nevermind the fact that we initially requested a large SUV with the Wi-Fi Hotspot because I was traveling with a toddler and felt it would be beneficial for all of our devices while traveling. Not sure why it happened but, I was extremely disappointed and would later be further disappointed with this first rental vehicle.We completed the transaction and went outside to show me the vehicle I would be driving for the trip. It had some minor dings that had been accounted for from the previous rental and I drove it home with no issues. I called the next day to see if a larger SUV was available prior to leaving but, none were available. I even waited later than our anticipated departure time to see if one would become available before we left.Upon driving into Virginia, I began to notice that the Ford Explorer had started pulling to the right. So much so, that is began to auto-correct itself back into the lane which at that point was the shoulder.After calling a few Budget locations, I was advised to call the airport because they would likely have the vehicle we would need. We made our way over to the Reagan National Airport location and the team their was phenomenal. They advised me where I needed to go to make the switch and was advised of the vehicles available. Which is how we ended up with the Chevrolet Tahoe. This came with the space and everything we needed to complete the remainder of our trip safely.
I needed to rent a car on a Sunday and Budget was the local place for me close to my home. The rental was quick and efficient, I plan to rent from them in the future 👍🏾
Check in and out was hassle free. Car was in excellent shape. Only wished they had a drop box for evening drop off.
They ran my card and had no cars on hand. Therefore locking me into waiting. Finally after being there for 2 hrs I canceled my car and got an Uber. So to say I was disappointed is an understatement
The car was supposed to be mid-sized. This is, in my opinion and many others, a compact. I dont care if you consider it a full size. the car was delivered to me covered in bird excrement. This was on the sides, roof, rear window, truck and hood. In addition the side panels in bothnear both side panels were covered in mud. The clerk said it had been washed that morning! Baloney. There was no rain or puddles in the area. In addition there was a huge chip in the window that I had to point out to the clerk. I have pictures of it all. Further, the clerk said there was nothing else available, because all the other cars were out for an oil change.

They dont clean cars and they gave me a damaged car without giving any kind of discount. I was very unpleased and would not recommend this branch in Eatontown NJ to any one ever.
Staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. I was greeted and treated respectfully. The vehicle was clean, well equipped and I had no issues at all with the rental, the paperwork or return. Very well done Budget !
Customer service was not an issue. The issue was with the vehicle. It was not very clean and smelled of cigarettes. It wasnt noticeable at first and we needed the rental in a hurry.I was driving a long distance with my mother who has asthma. Not a pleasant experience to have to inhale the stale smell of cigarette odor. It even transferred onto our clothes.I assumed- especially in this climate of Covid-19- that more sanitizing practices would be put in place to ensure safety and comfort for all customers. I had to wipe down the interior surfaces and clean windows myself. The interior side of the windshield was so filthy from cigarette smoke residue.I should ask for a discount!
I was in a difficult spot when I realized days before a move that I had booked the truck a day later than I intended; after speaking with Billy at this location, he found another available truck at a nearby budget rental and called me to confirm the switch. Dont know what I would have done without this help, amazing customer service.

No hassle, very accommodating, the rental was cleaned and ready at pick-up. Social distancing was practiced and both pick up and drop off locations. Plus both locations had wonderful personnel that were extremely polite and patience!

We have been goin to eatontown budget for years a guy today said unless ur credit score 700 or more or no rental never ever have we had a WARNING like that and we been coming there for yesrs
I was very disappointed when I was given the 12 passenger van. The van was dirt with garbage, it smelled like vomit and the side door didnt close properly. The wipers didnt work properly and it was raining on my way back, that is a hazard.Vehicles should not be rented in this conditions, some one should make sure vehicles are rented in decent conditions sense we the consumers are paying for this.

The car was not serviced properly and always showed oil change needed. 2nd the wheel most probably needed alignment because sometimes i felt the car became unstable; mostly near curves and turns.

I give this place zero stars. The customer service here was awful. I was taken through so much when trying to pick up the rental I reserved on line and because of the lack of customer service skills I would never recommend this company to anyone. Use enterprise it is a much better company. I will never again use this rental company.
