Did not appreciate that a $6.99 box of hair dye was used to color my hair and I was charged $150. I think it’s a rip off. I could have colored my hair myself.

The reviews regarding unprofessional appointment scheduling are very accurate. The owner, Tarik, is IG famous and may indeed be an excellent barber but his appointment scheduling practice is unorthodox. It feels as if he plays a game by creating a frenzy and hides his hand. You do not know his true rules to be selected for an appointment. He requests a photo of hair and the service you want. Then he sends a text to contact him at midnight the Saturday prior to the week you want the service and informs you that he is booked by 1AM. I scheduled my text to auto-send at 11:55pm for any day the following week. The following morning, I see he replied at 12:30am that he is booked and will add me to a wait list. It is definitely a joke. I believe he has a core customer base and he has made his decision whether he wants to cut your hair when he receives your hair pic. The clients on IG have a similar grade of hair and that may be the grade of hair he can cut. Nevertheless, it is his business and he operates it as he chooses. Just be aware of the red-flags. The photos on IG of clients are his regulars and many are IG influencers so they will always have a seat in his chair b/c they promote his business.

I was just there today and got looked over 3 times by all 3 barbers. No one wants to feel this. Service needs to be better. 👎🏽

I am leaving this review because Tarik (and seemingly the barbershop as a whole) does not provide good customer service. The fact that you have to text this man at Midnight to get an appointment is ridiculous! They should have a way for people to schedule appointments on the phone or online, not a text message at midnight. I texted this man right at midnight like he said, but he still said no times were available? Absurd. Tarik needs to learn to provide better, more accessible customer service, because what they are doing now is unacceptable. They should not treat someone just trying to make an appointment so poorly.

Walked in, Byrd greeted me immediately. I absolutely love my son’s haircut. My son was more concerned with the monster truck outside however we both enjoyed the visit. I will definitely return.

I found out about this place/barber from an Instagram post I saw of his work and I had to come let him cut my hair. He was punctual, personable, and did a great job while sticking to my appointment slot. Plus he has a clean shop so thats always a plus. Will definitely be returning. Tarik was great!

This is my first time checking out the shop I went in waiting for someone to get finish and one of the guys asked if I needed a cut I noticed him cutting hair real well so I was like Im waiting for you then he was like you know SmartWay Im booked I only do appointments not knowing that the guy that was speaking to me was the owner he came off in a wrong- way and I think it was unprofessional for him to be a business owner and thats how you speak to your customers so instead of him asking the other three Barbers who was finished cutting or whos next he just punted me to 1 Barbara and I was like no I dont want him to cut his hair so I waited for another barber to cut my sons hair and he did a great job I could have been a secret shopper coming in to see how well the owner conducts his business and how well the shop is running and how he came off was very disrespectful
