Worst customer service experience in memory. Disorganized “check-in,” unclear where to find boat, boat was late and not available for pickup at time of reservation. Website terms and conditions were inaccurate: I’d planned to teach a friend to waterski— the first words out of the proprietor’s mouth without so much as a hello were “not allowed.” Proprietor lied to me and assured me the “no waterskiing” term was “buried somewhere” on website. When that proved untrue, and without so much as an “I’m sorry,” I was finally told I could get a credit. Despite being very annoyed at this point, I decided to proceed with the boat rental. When I suggested to the proprietor that they should update their website, he abruptly told me he was no longer willing to rent me the boat. I generally try to give small family run businesses the benefit of the doubt, but this operation is totally lacking in professionalism, friendliness, or a sense of honesty. Peconic Watersports and Hamptons Boat Rental are two nearby boat rental operators with which I’ve had wonderful experiences.
