Our son struggled with impulse control, was always loud - ALWAYS -, and was wild in a way that would hurt us and those around him as he seemed to be spatially unaware. For the longest time we chalked this up to him being wild, a boy, and tried to laugh it off even while our patience wore thin and we were feeling hopeless in how to help him find a level of self-control.We stumbled across Brain Balance nearly by accident. Upon reading the website we felt we were reading about our son. We scheduled an assessment and the results mirrored our daily experience.Ill suffice to say that after completing the program, our son looks people in the eyes when telling stories, is able to control his volume and his behavior much better. On his final review he said, I feel more calm and If get angry as much anymore. His sister sees the difference too :) There is much more peace in our household and he seems to have a lot more peace within himself.

My daughter had taken kindergarten over again. She’s now in 1st grade this year. When we walked into the doors of Brain Balance for the first time, my husband and I werent necessarily on the same page in regards to our son. In fact, our school was not necessarily concerned about our son either. School told us that he was a bright, kind, obedient, delightful child who worked hard and despite him struggling now he would eventually just catch on. What I saw that concerned me was my son putting forth a ton of effort in learning to read and to complete schoolwork but despite his efforts and the time we (as a family) were investing- he was struggling to read, poor memory recall making multistep directions challenging and oftentimes he came home with his coursework not even started. I also had concerns about his coordination and fine motor skills. This presented in poor handwriting, troubles being a clean eater, unable to tie his shoes and not meeting the grade expectations in PE. Our son started telling me that he just couldnt keep up [with his peers at school- on the playground or in the classroom], which started to take a toll on his self-esteem.Honestly, unsure of how to support my son, a trusted teaching friend had recommended Brain Balance to me. Not knowing a whole lot about the program but motivated to help my son, I scheduled an assessment and dragged my husband and son in for the initial assessment. My husband and I were literally at odds during the entire appointment. After we received the results of the assessment, they confirmed what I was observing and the results challenged my husband to look differently at our sons struggles. Unknowing how to help our son, we decided to give Brain Balance a try. And we are ALL thankful we did.In just three months, we have all seen huge improvements. Evans handwriting has drastically improved (we are no longer hearing weekly from the teacher that we need to work on this), Evans visual tracking has improved which has helped his reading fluency and comprehension, he now has the confidence to start and finish his schoolwork, his coordination and balance have drastically improved and most importantly his self-esteem has drastically improved as he feels so much more confident in the classroom.We are so thankful for the Brain Balance program and staff! We brought our daughter in after having a tough start to kindergarten with defiant behaviors and anxiety. My son had ADHD and was reading and writing below his grade level. He struggled with difficulty concentrating as well as lack of self-regulation. Each day was a struggle and I was concerned he was going to become depressed, he was so often in trouble. I came across this program in my search for ways to help my son, and it has been such a blessing! The program is rigorous, but so worth the effort! He has been in the program for 3-4 months now, and is reading and writing better, focusing better, and we were able to cut his ADHD medication dose by half, and hope to be able to get him completely off it within the next 6 months! I feel like we got our son back! His impulse control is much better and he is doing much better academically!

I can’t say enough good about this place! This place has changed our lives. Not just our seven year old sons but the whole houses. Before we struggled with so much and it caused stress for everyone, but now it’s amazing! My son doesn’t struggle in school anymore, we rarely have behavioral issues with him, and everyone is just so much happier. I can’t thank them enough! And a huge plus is they become like family. Everyone on the staff is so amazing!***Edited to add***I am now writing to add that after a year later our son is still progressing and benefits from the program! The changes in him are absolutely amazing! I can’t say how thankful I am to have found this program. To see his progress in school and at home has been amazing! He is in the top of his class in both behavior and academics and it has given him the most incredible amount of confidence! So so thankful for this program! If you’re even considering it I would definitely say go for it!! You won’t regret it!

Brain Balance changed our lives! The Eagle, ID location has the friendliest, most helpful staff and you can just tell they love what they do. Not only have I seen drastic behavioral and social improvement in my own child but I have witnessed it in the children we watched walk in and out those doors. In 3 months we went from daily meltdowns and zero friendships to almost no tantrums and my daughter has been invited to about a dozen birthday parties and sleepovers. My child is easier to talk to, get along with, and shows interest in things like reading, quiet activities, and other tasks she once found mundane and refused to do. We cant stress enough how glad we are that we took this step!

Brain Balance helped understand our child. We wondered about why he ran with his arms wobbly and loose. Why he was all over the side walks and his low academic performance despite the after school tutoring and all day in special classes. The school he went to was condemning him to be special needs kid for his whole life. His self-esteem was dropping every day he went to school. He has no behavior issues only low academics. He was very social but because of school he was becoming isolated. Now after the program he also understands his own needs. He joined football, basketball and is now waiting for baseball season. Best of all he is doing regular classes with only one resource class to help him. Now his self-esteem can be seen from space. He is back to being the lovable little 12 year old. He is also very popular at school. He got honor roll last month and today he got student of the quarter award.

The science behind why and how this program works is truly fascinating. Our son is mildly on the spectrum, suffers with severe anxiety and adhd and sensory stuff. Aggression and lack of attention span seem to be our biggest challenges. Within 2 weeks of starting BB, we had a kid that for the first time in his life got up and got ready for school on his own. Overall Tantrums decreased from a 10 to a 3. He started to verbalise his emotions (including gratitude which has never happened before!) His piano teacher commented to me that the change in him was drastic and he could make it through the lessons for the first time without issues. Basically I wish I had done this instead of wasting years in useless OT and behavioural therapy. This program actually changed his brain and results were beyond our expectations. We continue to work with our team and go back as needed when challenges arise. Love the owner and staff- truly an amazing place!!!
