Suburban Landscape Services did a substantial landscape project at my home including drain tiling, removing all old landscaping, design work with nice CAD drawings, and install of new landscaping. My wife and I are very pleased with the end result. I personally like our property a lot more now. They were very good to work with. Highly recommend.
Collin came out to look over my landscape and give a quote for top-dressing all the mulch. He was so helpful and friendly, and offered a lot of excellent advice and insight. He got his people right out to start the next week. Sherry came out to weed and she was amazing! She knew just what to do, even transplanting a few things for me to better locations. When the two employees came out to mulch, they were very conscientious in asking questions and they did an amazing job and were so friendly. It looks incredible! Ill definitely be using Suburban for my landscaping needs in the future.
Thanks to Team Suburban Landscape Services for putting together my plan for the outdoor space. Not only did Collin give me sound advise on what to do as a master plan, he didnt push his services on me. Had them back several times to do work for me. USE THEM
I had the worst experience with this company. I had a contract for a ground level deck and drain tile installations. The initial contact looked very professional, complete with a professional designer. When it was time to build the deck, the actual deck looks nice, it is a nice design, but they seem to have no expertise in actual landscaping.It turned higher than what they had anticipated so they fixed it by including a couple of stone steps and a board around the edges. Soon after it was done, huge cracks appeared along the main posts of the pergola part. They told me it was normal. Only time will tell if things hold up.Drain tile installation was a complete fiasco (including dealing with water issues inside the house and an upset neighbor because tile was draining into his yard) until I found a different company who did it right.The worst part is that it took them about 2 months to even come back to discuss what the problems were. After those 2 months, I also ended up cancelling an additional contract to do other work.
Be forewarned, this is not a good company to use! The designer they have is top notch and that is there saving grace. They will cut corners on landscape, (I worked for them). He pays people to give good reviews and also pays to have negative reviews form the internet removed. He still owes former employees, ( who he knows have kids, a home to pay for etc.)One of these reviewers gets free lawn care service I know this for A FACT 5/5 for him...
This is the 3rd summer in a row we are using SLS for our spring clean up, lawn care and fall clean up at our home in Inver Grove Heights. The owner already has called us with projected start times and started laying out our new irrigation system design! He also brought with his in house designer to start planning a patio, plantings and outdoor grill area....cant wait to get started!
Very rude owner. Very sarchastic and unwilling to have a respectful conversation.
Not to be trusted. False promises, hidden costs, inflated labor hours, mediocre quality work, vague billing, and no desire to make it right with the customer. Need I say more? Collin Merrill is the consummate salesperson, but should not be taken at his word. Proceed at your own risk and get everything in writing.
So my issue is not the responsiveness, but the QUALITY. I will say they are great at mowing (generally) - Josh has been wonderful, but thats it. They should just be a mowing company, specializing in that only, not landscaping per se.We asked for them to trim our hedges. Hedges which we had worked hard for 2 years to get too - they line our driveway and around our home. For whatever reason, even after showing them in person what to do (trim the top only), they cut the ones along the driveway (not the house mind you), into balls. So, needless to say, not happy and we let them know this. We of course did not pay for the service, which he agreed too. That was incident #1.One month later, we had new sod down at the base of our driveway on one side (installed by someone else). They mowed it after about a month of growing (at my direction). When I came home I took photos, sent them to Collin asking why it looks like a criss cross and why it looks so bad. Instead, he offers a curt explanation and states that we are done. Clearly, he cant take the feedback or let a customer wonder why something is the way it is. So instead of saying, we did this this way.....and heres why..., I got a rude, abrasive answer. Clearly he does not need the business or referrals (which he will not receive from us).Just so that I can share what my issues are, because I believe that I should back up my points....I included photos.So my advice...research and get multiple options. Im not even looking for the cheapest - just someone who will listen to the customer and realize this is OUR investment.
I am amazed at how good Suburban Landscape Services is with their designs. WOW factor is what I wanted in my back yard oasis and they delivered big time. Exceeded my expectations on over all design and follow through was great. They worked hand in hand with my other contractors to get it done right the first time. People give me the credit for having such an amazing back yard, I give it all to Collin and his team at SLS Desgin/ Suburban Landscape Services. Very happy. #slsdesign
Promised start dates not met, emails and phone calls not returned, arrived to meetings late - overall unprofessional service. Obviously we went elsewhere to have the work completed after wasting our time with Meghan for months.
Got everything done in 2days. Came back out to check on the plants & to see if I had questions. Replaced plants that didnt make it without hesitation. Checked the following year to ask how things looked. Couldnt ask for better service
