I just received The worst $30 haircut/shape up or whatever you want to call it smh. NC plz make sure these kids are on top of there game before you let them cut . I seen some crazy cutting while I was in there and people like me cherish there hair. Not saying don’t give the kids a shot but make sure the profile is up to par before they have someone sit down in that chair. A bad haircut/a good haircut and change someone entire mood. I’ll just take my 30 drive to get what I want. Good luck with this shop.

This was the best hair cut Ive had in years. There was an obvious expertise at play, that is missing in a lot of the chain hair salons. Even though its a no frills place, to me it was worth the price. That neck trimmer could do with some sharpening though...

I tell you I have to update my review every time I have the pleasure of acquiring appointment at this place. I wish to God I was the type of person that could make or schedule appointments for haircuts and beard trims and stick to them. If I could I would look amazing as I do right now all the time. I actually end up with a different barber everytime I come here because again the times are so spread out. This time my cut and beard was done by a young man named Kendrick who I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with. Thats the other thing you literally have a good conversation with someone while they are cutting your hair. Im serious my hair and beard never looks as good as it does when I visit the Renaissance Barber shop. I dont have a clue who owns this place but I want to thank them for being a staple in my neighborhood. I have been here since 2006 and I think they were here before I got here. Please youve got to visit this place if you can find an appointment... They are constantly booked, So plan ahead.

Got a haircut here for the first time and while it wasnt exactly what I wanted, it was still decent. For the most part things were executed well. This shop could be taking COVID more seriously. A guest didnt have his mask on while he was getting a haircut and he walked out without it on. A barber himself also walked out of the back room without a mask on. The barber I got shook my hand which felt weird in a pandemic. He lined up my sides in a way I did not ask him to. I could have cleared that up better on my part but it was weird of him not to ask.

Walk ins welcome is a complete lie. After a business hour confirmation and thirty minute drive, I arrive to a closed shop at 3 pm. I called the number posted on the door 4 times with no response. I have to say this was a huge let down from a black owned business. Im beyond disappointed.

This guys have got it going on! I just opened a new Ashley Homestore in the shopping center so I went over to pass out flyers. Took a look around and was instantly impressed with how clean and simple the design of the barbershop was. Asked the guys about how much the cuts were and the prices are so cheap for the quality of cut you get here. Got me in with an appt that day and was very impressed with the results. Look forward to seeing them on a weekly basis to keep the cut looking nice and clean.

Went to TIM for a haircut and he did not disappoint!!! The quality of service was top tier and theyre taking all the right precautions during times of covid (masks, temp check, sanitizing). Check them out.

Youll get a very chill but traditional barbershop atmosphere- usually fairly busy, mostly regulars who have friendly banter with the barbers about sports, society, or just life in general. This is a great place for a haircut. I brought my 5 year old son for a haircut as well as my 76 year old Dad for a haircut. Service was excellent and the environment was perfect for both my child and my Dad. I’ve been bringing my son here since he was 2.5 to get his hair cut. This is the best barber shop I’ve been to on the east coast. The shop was clean and modern but had an old school feel to it, everyone talking and having conversations with each other. Timothy was on time, gave me the best fade I’ve had in a long time and was personable and professional, like everyone else who worked there was. I will absolutely go back to his shop and recommend that anyone who appreciates a phenomenal haircut and great environment do the same!

I thought I found a new barber. The first two visits were good but the third visit that I thought I would experience with Jeff this morning...never happened. I had an appointment scheduled for 7am. That’s pretty early for me to be up, let alone get to the barbershop and I hear that Jeff is on vacation and I knew nothing about it. I’m very disappointed because I was looking forward to making this my new go to barbershop.

I was in town from out of state for Christmas and away from my barber. Will took his time, asked great questions, and gave me a professional cut and beard trim. Very excellent with razor line up. Moving here from VA, I was in search of a GREAT barber. I went here one time before and didn’t care for the cut I received. Same thing for my 7yr old son.HOWEVER, when I took my son here again after a horrible haircut (from a different shop) Jason turned it into a masterpiece. I was beyond speechless and THAT’S when I knew I found MY barber. Jason is awesome and it’s beyond apparent that he takes pride in what he does.Very friendly staff as well! Good environment!

Very nice, clean establishment. I come to Renaissance because of a barber who no longer works there. I just want my edges back (thank heavens (my) hair grows back). They were cut off without consent. Just wanted to get cleaned up and lined up. My forehead is formidable on its own, now it appears much larger. Never had a barber shave my edges away before. I am aware of masculine and feminine lines but I really like my hairline the way it is. Ughs. Letting it grow all the way out now. Always wiser to cut less hair than more, you can always go back and cut more off if requested.

I have been going to Renaissance Barbershop for about 4yrs and me and my son have enjoyed being groomed by Curtis Lee. Curtis is an excellent Barber, he always gives us his best. When my son sits in Curtiss chair hes not just another kid, curtis inquiries about whats going with Joshua. They actually have conversation and Ive really enjoyed the relationship that weve built with Curtis. The other Barbers in the shop are also welcoming and great people. The thing that I moat like about the shop is the ability to take my son into this shop and feel comfortable that the language is respectable. I am new to North Carolina and I was looking for a Barbershop for my 8 year old to get his hair cut. After researching, I decided on Renaissance. The reviews were great, but also the fact that they were open on Sunday was a plus. We walked in without an appointment, but we only waited about 10 minutes before he was in the chair. Tremaine did a great job, BUT my Sons line up was uneven. It was cut back too far on one side. It was crooked. I didnt notice this until we left and I didnt had time to go back. This is why I only gave 4 stars. For this to be his 1st experience that was a little disappointing. However, everyone in the shop was very nice. They were cutting hair of all ethnicities and types and this was a great thing as well. I will be returning tomorrow for another cut for him, but I will let them know that I expect them to correct his line. Overall Renaissance is a great place for a cut!

I’ve been going to the same barbershop for years before moving to the triangle. I tried Renaissance Barbershop and was hooked. They have a great group of barbers with old and new school expertise and also have modern features like online booking and credit card payments.

Yesterday (03/21/19) was my first time at renaissance barbershop and it will be my last. $21 plus tip was too much to be cut up. I left knowing I had redness and swelling. Today the swelling was gone but it is evident I was cut. You win some and lose some. Yesterday I lost. Now I am left with this embarrassing cut on my face. On a positive note, everyone did seem friendly and the place was clean.

It was close to me and had a lot of great ratings. I decided to give them try and scheduled a haircut. Gentry did his thing and my hair looks great!! The guys who work here are very friendly and make small talk without being annoying which is really nice, but I ended up with probably the sloppiest cut Ive gotten.A week ago I made an appointment and came in that same day. I asked to get my hair cut short on the back and sides, and take some off the top and just leave enough for me to comb over. I faced away during the haircut, so I didnt really pay close attention while it was getting cut, but after I got home and looked closely I noticed a few things that made me unhappy. The left side of my head looks like it was cut to a half size or maybe even a full size longer than the right side of my head. You can clearly tell this when looking straight on at my head that one side is significantly longer. I feel like if the barber just looked at me to check over his work, he would have noticed this. On top of this, he cleaned up my hairline to look more straight, but where my hairline transitions into my sideburns you can tell that the two sides of my face didnt match, so if anyone looks closely it looks like one side of my hairline was touched up, and the other looks untouched. I also asked to get a hard part put in on the left side of my head where I usually have it done. But instead of following the part that was already there but was partly filled in by new hair, he put in a part higher up a little bit, making that area look really weird if you look closely at all since theres a small patch of hair hanging out in between my old part and the new part, thats disconnected from the rest of my hair.The atmosphere here is really nice, but I would strongly suggest that anyone reading this pays close attention to their haircut before leaving.

The entire staff makes you feel at home. I have seen kids as young as 1 year old and senior citizens as old as 100 in there. I have seen men and women regularly. What I have never seen is a bad haircut or unsatisfied customer. I will always trust Renaissance, they take their time and make sure its done right, every single time!

This is by far the worst attempt of a haircut I’ve ever received. After asking Corey who the best person in the shop was for fades, I was told that they were all good and that this was the best place in town for fades. I told my barber that I needed a very clean fade for my upcoming graduation, after which he proceeded to give me an atrocious haircut. Despite telling him not to shorten the top of my hair at the start, he went ahead to cut 3/4 of it off without asking a single question. Should have spent more time focusing on the haircut instead of talking, especially considering that not a single question about my hair was asked and I ended up with 1) a completely uneven fade on both sides, 2) one side burn being a whole inch higher on one side than the other, 3) the sorry attempt at fading the back of my hair, which is lopsided and looks completely unfinished. Not to mention the fact that my friend left with a 2 inch cut on his face by the same barber. Save your $30 and if you really need to do something about your hair, I’d recommend buying a hat instead of a haircut from this place.
